We construct the symmetric functional model of an arbitrary closed operator with non-empty resolvent set acting on a separable Hilbert space. The construction is based on the explicit form of the Sz.-Nagy-Foiaş model of a closed dissipative operator, the Potapov-Ginzburg transform of characteristic functions, and certain resolvent identities. All considerations are carried out under minimal assumptions, and obtained results are directly applicable to problems typically arising in mathematical physics. Explicit formulae for all the objects participating in the model construction are provided.   相似文献

Rank one perturbations of selfadjoint operators which are not necessarily semibounded are studied in the present paper. It is proven that such perturbations are uniquely defined, if they are bounded in the sense of forms. We also show that form unbounded rank one perturbations can be uniquely defined if the original operator and the perturbation are homogeneous with respect to a certain one parameter semigroup. The perturbed operator is defined using the extension theory for symmetric operators. The resolvent of the perturbed operator is calculated using Krein's formula. It is proven that every rank one perturbation can be approximated in the operator norm. We prove that some form unbounded perturbations can be approximated in the strong resolvent sense without renormalization of the coupling constant only if the original operator is not semibounded. The present approach is applied to study first derivative and Dirac operators with point interaction, in one dimension.  相似文献

In this paper, we identify the vector valued Hardy space with the Hardy space over the bidisk and construct a universal model for thecontractive analytic functions. We will also study some elementary properties of the submodules and show, in some cases, how the operator theoretical properties are related to the module theoretical properties. The last part focus on the study of double commutativity of compression operators.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the symmetric q-Dirac operator. We describe dissipative, accumulative, self-adjoint and the other extensions of such operators with general boundary conditions. We construct a self-adjoint dilation of dissipative operator. Hence, we determine the scattering matrix of dilation. Later, we construct a functional model of this operator and define its characteristic function. Finally, we prove that all root vectors of this operator are complete.  相似文献

Various theorems on lifting strong commutants of unbounded subnormal (as well as formally subnormal) operators are proved. It is shown that the strong symmetric commutant of a closed symmetric operatorS lifts to the strong commutant of some tight selfadjoint extension ofS. Strong symmetric commutants of orthogonal sums of subnormal operators are investigated. Examples of (unbounded) irreducible subnormals, pure subnormals with rich strong symmetric commutants and cyclic subnormals with highly nontrivial strong commutants are discussed. This work was supported by the KBN grant # 2P03A 041 10.  相似文献

Perturbation of the Drazin inverse for closed linear operators   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
We investigate the perturbation of the Drazin inverse of a closed linear operator recently introduced by second author and Tran, and derive explicit bounds for the perturbations under certain restrictions on the perturbing operators. We give applications to the solution of perturbed linear equations, to the asymptotic behaviour ofC 0-semigroups of linear operators, and to perturbed differential equations. As a special case of our results we recover recent perturbation theorems of Wei and Wang.  相似文献

On a class of quasi-Fredholm operators   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
We study a class of bounded linear operators acting on a Banach spaceX called B-Fredholm operators. Among other things we characterize a B-Fredholm operator as the direct sum of a nilpotent operator and a Fredholm operator and we prove a spectral mapping theorem for B-Fredholm operators.IMemory of my father, Sidi-Bouhouria 1914-0991.  相似文献

We show that for positive operator B : E → E on Banach lattices, if there exists a positive operator S : E → E such that:1.SB ≤ BS;2.S is quasinilpotent at some x0 > 0; 3.S dominates a non-zero b-AM-compact operator, then B has a non-trivial closed invariant subspace. Also, we prove that for two commuting non-zero positive operators on Banach lattices, if one of them is quasinilpotent at a non-zero positive vector and the other dominates a non-zero b-AM-compact operator, then both of them have a common non-trivial closed invariant ideal. Then we introduce the class of b-AM-compact-friendly operators and show that a non-zero positive b-AM- compact-friendly operator which is quasinilpotent at some x0 > 0 has a non-trivial closed invariant ideal.  相似文献

In this paper we will discuss the local spectral behaviour of a closed, densely defined, linear operator on a Banach space. In particular, we are interested in closed, positive, linear operators, defined on an order dense ideal of a Banach lattice. Moreover, for positive, bounded, linear operators we will treat interpolation properties by means of duality.Dedicated to G. Maltese on the occasion of his 60th birthday  相似文献

We investigate frequently hypercyclic and chaotic linear operators from a measure-theoretic point of view. Among other things, we show that any frequently hypercyclic operator T acting on a reflexive Banach space admits an invariant probability measure with full support, which may be required to vanish on the set of all periodic vectors for T  ; that there exist frequently hypercyclic operators on the sequence space c0c0 admitting no ergodic measure with full support; and that if an operator admits an ergodic measure with full support, then it has a comeager set of distributionally irregular vectors. We also give some necessary and sufficient conditions (which are satisfied by all the known chaotic operators) for an operator T to admit an invariant measure supported on the set of its hypercyclic vectors and belonging to the closed convex hull of its periodic measures. Finally, we give a Baire category proof of the fact that any operator with a perfectly spanning set of unimodular eigenvectors admits an ergodic measure with full support.  相似文献

In this paper, the product and commutativity of slant Toeplitz operators are discussed. We show that the product of kth1-order slant Toeplitz operators and kth2-order slant Toeplitz operators must be a (k1k2) th-order slant Toeplitz operator except for zero operators, and the commutativity and essential commutativity of two slant Toeplitz operators with different orders are the same.  相似文献

After the von Neumann's remark [10] about pathologies of unbounded symmetric operators and an abstract theorem about stability domain [9], we develope here a general theory allowing to construct semibounded restrictions of selfadjoint operators in explicit form. We apply this theory to quantum-mechanical momentum (position) operator to describe corresponding stability domains. Generalization to the case of measurable functions of these operators is considered. In conclusion we discuss spectral properties of self-adjoint extensions of constructed self-adjoint restrictions.  相似文献

We introduce the notion of spectralizable operators. A closed operator A in a Hilbert space is called spectralizable if there exists a non-constant polynomial p such that the operator p(A) is a scalar spectral operator in the sense of Dunford. We show that such operators belongs to the class of generalized spectral operators and give some examples where spectralizable operators occur naturally. On closures of joint similarity orbits   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
For an n-tuple T=(T1,..., Tn) of operators on a Hilbert spacexxHx, the joint similarity orbit of T isxxSx(T)={VTV–1 =(VT1V–1,...,VTnV–1): V is invertible onxxHx}. We study the structure of the norm closure ofxxSx, both in the case when T is commutative and when it is not. We first develop a Rota-model for the Taylor spectrum and use it to study n-tuples with totally disconnected Taylor spectrum, in particular quasinilpotent ones. We then consider limits of nilpotent n-tuples, and of normal n-tuples. For noncommuting n-tuples, we present a number of surprising facts relating the closure ofxxSx(T) to the Harte spectrum of T and the lack of commutativity of T. We show that a continuous function which is constant onxxSx(T) for all T must be constant. We conclude the paper with a detailed study of closed similarity orbits.Research partially supported by grants from the National Science Foundation.  相似文献

LetT L(X) be a continuous linear operator on a complex Banach spaceX. We show thatT possesses non-trivial closed invariant subspaces if its localizable spectrum loc(T) is thick in the sense of the Scott Brown theory. Since for quotients of decomposable operators the spectrum and the localizable spectrum coincide, it follows that each quasiaffine transformation of a Banach-space operator with Bishop's property () and thick spectrum has a non-trivial invariant subspace. In particular it follows that invariant-subspace results previously known for restrictions and quotients of decomposable operators are preserved under quasisimilarity.  相似文献

If $$\mathcal{H}$$ is a Hilbert space, $$\mathcal{S}$$ is a closed subspace of $$\mathcal{H},$$ and A is a positive bounded linear operator on $$\mathcal{H},$$ the spectral shorted operator $$\rho \left( {\mathcal{S},\mathcal{A}} \right)$$ is defined as the infimum of the sequence $$\sum (\mathcal{S},A^n )^{1/n} ,$$ where denotes $$\sum \left( {\mathcal{S},B} \right)$$ the shorted operator of B to $$\mathcal{S}.$$ We characterize the left spectral resolution of $$\rho \left( {\mathcal{S},\mathcal{A}} \right)$$ and show several properties of this operator, particularly in the case that dim $${\mathcal{S} = 1.}$$ We use these results to generalize the concept of Kolmogorov complexity for the infinite dimensional case and for non invertible operators.  相似文献

We consider upper-triangular 2-by-2 operator matrices and are interested in the set that has to be added to certain spectra of the matrix in order to get the union of the corresponding spectra of the two diagonal operators. We show that in the cases of the Browder essential approximate point spectrum, the upper semi-Fredholm spectrum, or the lower semi-Fredholm spectrum the set in question need not to be an open set but may be just a singleton. In addition, we modify and extend known results on Hilbert space operators to operators on Banach spaces.  相似文献

In [6] (after Clancey's work [2]), Martin and Putinar introduced their two-dimensional functional model of a hyponormal operator, which reduces it to the multiplication by the independent variable in a space of distributions. Here we define another model which does (almost) the same for the adjoint operator. We also explain a close relation between these two models and dual bundle shift models of linear operators introduced in [13]. As application, an estimate of the effectual rational multiplicity of hyponormal operators is given. The research described in this publication was made possible in part by Grant No. NW8000 from the International Science Foundation  相似文献
