We consider a (2+1)-dimensional gauge theory with a nonzero fermion density and an initial Chern–Simons topological term, whose Lorentz invariance is spontaneously broken in a certain Lorentz reference frame by the generation of a constant homogenous magnetic field. We propose interpreting the number =±1, which characterizes the two nonequivalent representations of Dirac matrices in 2+1 dimensions, as a quantum number that explicitly describes the spin of the fermion. In particular, this interpretation allows determining the vacuum state of the model in a constant homogenous magnetic field as the state whose fermion and spin numbers are equal to zero.  相似文献

In an earlier paper, the authors introduced the notion of a boundary compactification of SL(2, R) and SL(2, C), a normal projective embedding of PSL2 arising as the Zariski closure of an orbit in (P1)n under the diagonal action of SL2. Here the moduli space of such boundary compactifications of SL(2, R) is shown to be a contractible hyperbolic orbifold, by using the Schwarz–Christoffel transformation to identify it with a quotient of the moduli space of equi-angular planar polygons.  相似文献

The minimal representation of O(p,q) (p+q: even) is realized on the Hilbert space of square integrable functions on the conical subvariety of Rp+q–2. This model presents a close resemblance of the Schrödinger model of the Segal–Shale–Weil representation of the metaplectic group. In this paper, we propose a nonlinear fractional order model in order to explain and understand the outbreaks of influenza A(H1N1). In the fractional model, the next state depends not only upon its current state but also upon all of its historical states. Thus, the fractional model is more general than the classical epidemic models. In order to deal with the fractional derivatives of the model, we rely on the Caputo operator and on the Grünwald–Letnikov method to numerically approximate the fractional derivatives. We conclude that the nonlinear fractional order epidemic model is well suited to provide numerical results that agree very well with real data of influenza A(H1N1) at the level population. In addition, the proposed model can provide useful information for the understanding, prediction, and control of the transmission of different epidemics worldwide. The restriction principle is used to implement a realization of the holomorphic representations of SL(2,R) on L 2 (R +,t dt) by way of the standard upper half plane realization. The resulting unitary equivalence establishes a correspondence between functions that transform according to the character ei(2n++1); under rotations and the Laguerre polynomials. In this paper, we introduce new modifications of Szász–Mirakyan operators based on (p,q)‐integers. We first give a recurrence relation for the moments of new operators and present explicit formula for the moments and central moments up to order 4. Some approximation properties of new operators are explored: the uniform convergence over bounded and unbounded intervals is established, direct approximation properties of the operators in terms of the moduli of smoothness is obtained and Voronovskaya theorem is presented. This system fails if and only if at least one subset of connected failed components occurs which includes at least a (1, 2)-matrix (that is, a row and two columns) or a (2, 1)-matrix(that is, two rows and a column) of failed components.
