A facile tandem route to α,β-unsaturated aldehydes was developed by combining the two catalytic activities of the same enzyme in a one-pot strategy for the aldol reaction and in situ generation of acetaldehyde. Lipase from Mucor miehei was found to have conventional and promiscuous catalytic activities for the hydrolysis of vinyl acetate and aldol condensation with in situ formed acetaldehyde. The first reaction continuously provided material for the second reaction, which effectively reduced the volatilization loss, oxidation, and polymerization of acetaldehyde, as well as avoided a negative effect on the enzyme of excessive amounts of acetaldehyde. After optimizing the process, several substrates participated in the reaction and provided the target products in moderate to high yields using this single lipase-catalyzed one-pot biotransformation.

In collisional activation of argentinated N-arylmethyl-pyridin-2-ylmethanimine, a neutral molecule of AgNH2 is eliminated, carrying one hydrogen from the methylene and the other one from the ortho position (relative to the ipso carbon) of the aryl ring. Taking argentinated N-benzyl-pyridin-2-ylmethanimine for example, the proposition that the AgNH2 loss results from intramolecular arylmethyl transfer combined with cyclodeamination is rationalized by deuterium labeling experiments, blocking experiments, and theoretical calculations. The structure of the final product ion from loss of AgNH2 was confirmed further by multistage mass spectrometry.

Using quantum chemical calculations and infrared multiphoton dissociation (IRMPD) spectroscopy in the fingerprint and X-H stretching regions, we demonstrate here that the all-Ala b 6 fragment ion features a macrocyclic structure with C2 symmetry. For this structure, the ionizing proton is equally shared by the Ala(1) and Ala(4) amide oxygens in a Zundel-type symmetric (X…H+…X) H-bond. Figure

A new hydrophilic and nonionic poly(2-vinyloxazoline)-grafted silica (Sil-VOX n ) phase was synthesized and applied for the separation of nucleosides and nucleobases in hydrophilic interaction chromatography (HILIC). Polymerization and immobilization onto silica were confirmed by using characterization techniques including 1H NMR spectroscopy, elemental analysis, and diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy. The hydrophilicity or wettability of Sil-VOX n was observed by measuring the contact angle (59.9°). The chromatographic results were compared with those obtained with a conventional HILIC silica column. The Sil-VOX n phase showed much better separation of polar test analytes than the silica column, and the elution order was different. Differences in selectivity between these two columns indicate that the stationary phase cannot function merely as an inert support for a water layer into which the solutes are partitioned from the bulk mobile phase. To elucidate the interaction mechanism, the separation of dihydroxybenzene isomers was performed on both columns in normal-phase liquid chromatography. Sil-VOX n was very sensitive to the dipole moments of the positional isomers of polycyclic aromatic compounds in normal-phase liquid chromatography. The interaction mechanism for Sil-VOX n in HILIC separation is also described.

Magnetic carbon nanotubes (MCNTs) have been synthesized by chemical deposition of Fe3O4 nanoparticles onto carbon nanotubes. They were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscope, X-ray diffraction and physical property measurement system. The MCNTs were used as the sorbents for the extraction of pyrethroids including beta-cyfluthrin, cyhalothrin and cyphenothrin from tea samples. The extraction conditions, such as the amount of magnetic sorbent, shaking time and rate, washing and eluting solution have been fully investigated. The analytes desorbed from MCNTs were determined by HPLC with UV detection. Under the optimal conditions, the linearity of the method is in the range of 0.05–25 μg?g?1. The limits of detection of the three pyrethroids are 0.017, 0.010 and 0.018 μg?g?1, respectively. The relative standard deviations of within- and between-day range from 3.5 % to 6.4 %, and from 4.5 % to 29 7.3 %, respectively. In all three spiked levels (0.05, 0.5 and 5 μg?g-1), the recoveries of pyrethroids are in the range of 82.2 %–94.4 %. This method is much faster and more effective than traditional methods, and it is promising for the analysis of pesticides residues.

A novel type of porous metal-organic framework (MOF) was obtained from thiol-modified silica nanoparticles and the copper(II) complex of trimesic acid. It is shown that this nanocomposite is well suitable for the preconcentration of Hg(II) ions. The nanocomposite was characterized by Fourier transfer infrared spectroscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, energy-dispersive X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. The effects of pH value, sorption time, elution time, the volume and concentration of eluent were investigated. Equilibrium isotherms were studied, and four models were applied to analyze the equilibrium adsorption data. The results revealed that the adsorption process obeyed the Langmuir model. The maximum monolayer capacity and the Langmuir constant are 210 mg g?1 and 0.273 L mg?1, respectively. The new MOF-based nanocomposite is shown to be an efficient and selective sorbent for Hg(II). Under the optimal conditions, the limit of detection is 20 pg mL?1 of Hg(II), and the relative standard deviation is <7.2 % (for n?=?3). The sorbent was successfully applied to the rapid extraction of Hg(II) ions from fish, sediment, and water samples.

A selective and low organic-solvent-consuming method of sample preparation combined with high-performance liquid chromatography with diode-array detection is introduced for analysis of phthalic acid esters in edible oils. Sample treatment involves initial liquid–liquid partitioning with acetonitrile, then QuEChERS cleanup by dispersive solid-phase extraction with primary secondary amine as sorbent. Preconcentration of the analytes is performed by ionic-liquid-based dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction, with the cleaned-up extract as disperser solvent and 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate as extraction solvent. Under the optimized conditions, correlation coefficients (r) were 0.998–0.999 and standard errors (S y/x ) were 2.67–3.37?×?103 for calibration curves in the range 50–1000 ng g?1. Detection limits, at a signal-to-noise ratio of 3, ranged from 6 to 9 ng g?1. Intra-day and inter-day repeatability, expressed as relative standard deviation, were in the ranges 1.0–6.9 % and 2.4–9.4 %, respectively. Recovery varied between 84 % and 106 %. The developed method was successfully used for analysis of the analytes in 28 edible oils. The dibutyl phthalate content of four of the 28 samples (14 %) exceeded the specific migration limit established by domestic and international regulations.

We have immobilized iminodiacetic acid on mesoporous Fe3O4@SiO2 microspheres and used this material for efficient and cost effective method of magnetic solid phase extraction (SPE) of trace levels of Cd, Mn and Pb. The microspheres were characterized by infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The loaded microspheres can be easily separated from the aqueous sample solution by applying an external magnetic field. The effects of pH, sample volume, concentration and volume of eluent, and of interfering ions were investigated in detail. The method has detection limit of 0.16, 0.26 and 0.26?ng?L?1 for the ions of Cd, Mn and Pb, respectively, and the relative standard deviations (RSDs, c?=?1???g?L?1, n?=?7) are 4.8%, 4.6% and 7.4%. The method was successfully applied to the determination of these metals in biological and environmental samples using ICP-MS. Two certified reference materials were analyzed, and the results coincided well with the certified values.

We describe the analytical performance of a hybrid material composed of SiO2, Al2O3 and TiO2. It was prepared by a sol–gel process and can act as an adsorbent in the continuous-flow enrichment of copper. A minicolumn was packed with the material, copper ions are adsorbed at pH 9.13, then eluted with 1.0?mol?L?1 nitric acid, and determined by FAAS. The material was characterized by infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron and energy dispersive spectroscopy, energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence analysis, powder X-ray diffraction, and specific surface area analysis. No significant interference was observed for most ions in up to copper/interferent ratios of 1:100 and of 1:500 in case of Ca(II), Ba(II), and Mg(II). The breakthrough capacity is 1.4?mg?g?1 under dynamic conditions. The limits of detection and of quantification are 0.50 and 1.4?μg?L?1, respectively, and the calibration plot is linear in the range from 5.0 to 245.0?μg?L?1 (r?=?0.999). The relative standard deviation is 3.20 (for n?=?7 and at a Cu(II) concentration of 10?μg?L?1). The method was applied to the determination of trace copper ions in water, vegetable and alcohol fuel samples.

Herein, we report on the synthesis of film-forming poly(styrene-co-butyl acrylate-co-acrylic acid)/SiO2 [P(St-BA-AA)/SiO2] nanocomposites by in situ formation of SiO2 nanoparticles from TEOS via sol–gel process in the presence of poly(acrylic acid) (PAA)-functionalized poly(styrene-co-butyl acrylate) [P(St-BA)] particles fabricated by soap-free emulsion polymerization. The formed silica particles could be absorbed by polyacrylate chains on the surface of PAA-functionalized P(St-BA) particles; thus, raspberry-like polymer/silica nanocomposites would be obtained. Transmission electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, attenuated total reflectance infrared spectrum, ultraviolet–visible transmittance spectra, and thermogravimetric analysis were used to characterize the resulting composites. The results showed that the hybrid polymer/silica had a raspberry-like structure with silica nanoparticles anchored on the surface of polymer microspheres. The thermal, fire retardant, and mechanical properties and water resistance of the film were improved by incorporating silica nanoparticles, while the optical transmittance was seldom affected due to nanosized silica particles uniformly dispersed in the film.
Figure
Film-forming polymer/silica nanocomposites with raspberry-like morphology have been successfully prepared via soap-free emulsion polymerization followed by the sol–gel process. The number and the size of SiO2 particles coated on the surface of polymer particles can be adjusted by the amounts of TEOS and ammonia. After the film formation of polymer/silica nanocomposites, silica nanoparticles are homogeneously dispersed within the film without aggregation.  相似文献

The present work was focused on elucidating biochemical changes in the model bacterium Escherichia coli exposed to ionic silver mediated stress, at a single-cell scale. In order to achieve this, in situ synchrotron Fourier-transform infrared (sFTIR) microspectroscopy was performed, for the first time, on individual cells by attenuated total reflectance (ATR) combined with the use of zinc-selenide hemisphere for high spatial resolution. In a first part, the potential of the method was evaluated on bacteria subjected to a lethal 100 μM AgNO3 concentration for 2 h compared to untreated 100 % viable cells. Differences in cell composition were assessed for the C–H stretching and protein spectral regions, indicating that the inhibitory action was targeted against both fatty acids and proteins. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) confirmed morphological damages of the cell ultrastructure. The relevance of ATR-sFTIR microspectroscopy for highlighting the heterogeneity in Ag+-mediated effects within a given bacterial population was also pointed out. In a second part, cells were exposed to sub-lethal Ag+ concentrations (<10 μM AgNO3) tested under “dynamic” growth mode: early addition vs. pulse in the mid-exponential phase, and compared to simultaneously batch-grown untreated bacteria or cells sampled just before the pulse, respectively. sFTIR microspectroscopy and TEM imaging were performed in close relation with growth kinetics characterization. No significant effect of the Ag+ pulses was detected, in accordance with macrokinetics data. For early-treated cells, effects on fatty acid composition were shown, although no major alteration of protein secondary structure was noticed. These partial effects were consistent with TEM observations and growth kinetics.

We describe a molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) for the solid-phase extraction of the skin protectant allantoin. The MIP was deposited on the surface of monodisperse silica microspheres possessing acroyl groups on the surface (MH-SiO2). The resulting MIP microspheres (MH-SiO2@MIP) showed a 3.4-fold higher adsorption capacity and a 1.9-fold better selectivity for allantoin than the respective non-imprinted polymer (MH-SiO2@NIP). The monolayer adsorption capacities of the MH-SiO2@MIP and the MH-SiO2@NIP were calculated with the help of the Langmuir model and found to be 6.8 and 1.9 mg?g?1, respectively. Adsorption kinetics fit a pseudo-second order rate mechanism, with an initial adsorption rate of 1.44 for the MH-SiO2@MIP, and of 0.07 mg?g?1?min?1 for the MH-SiO2@NIP. The material can be regenerated, and its adsorption capacity for allantoin remains stable for at least five regeneration cycles. It was successfully used as a sorbent for the selective solid-phase extraction of allantoin from Rhizoma dioscoreae.

The use of electrospun nanofibers as functional material in paper-based lateral flow assays (LFAs) was studied. Specific chemical features of the nanofibers were achieved by doping the base polymer, poly(lactic acid) (PLA), with poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) and polystyrene8K-block-poly(ethylene-ran-butylene)25K-block-polyisoprene10K-Brij76 (K3-Brij76) (KB). The LFAs were assembled such that the sample flowed through the nanofiber mat via capillary action. Initial investigations focused on the sustainable spinning and assembly of different polymer structures to allow the LFA format. Here, it was found that the base polymer poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA), which was shown to function well in microfluidic biosensors, did not work in the LFA format. In contrast, PLA-based nanofibers enabled easy assembly. Three relevant features were chosen to study nanofiber-based functionalities in the LFA format: adsorption of antibodies, quantification of results, and nonspecific binding. In particular, streptavidin-conjugated sulforhodamine B (SRB)-encapsulating liposomes were captured by anti-streptavidin antibodies adsorbed on the nanofibers. Varying the functional polymer concentration within the PLA base enabled the creation of distinct capture zones. Also, a sandwich assay for the detection of Escherichia coli O157:H7 was developed using anti-E. coli antibodies as capture and reporter species with horseradish peroxidase for signal generation. A dose–response curve for E. coli with a detection limit of 1.9?×?104 cells was achieved. Finally, functional polymers were used to demonstrate that nonspecific binding could be eliminated using antifouling block copolymers. The enhancement of paper-based devices using functionalized nanofibers provides the opportunity to develop a broad spectrum of sensitive and specific bioassays with significant advantages over their traditional counterparts.

The LFAs ran vertically in glass culture tubes. In the E. coli sandwich assay, E. coli (green) flowed through the anti-E. coli-modified nanofiber mat, followed by horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated (pink) anti-E. coli. When E. coli is present, a colorimetric signal results upon addition of HRP substrate (b), and when no E. coli is present, the HRP flows through the nanofiber mat and no signal is observed (c)  相似文献

Ni2P/graphene hybrid with a 3D architecture has been successfully accomplished through a series of controlled chemical processes. In contrast to random mixture of Ni2P nanoparticles and graphene nanosheets, the architecture hybrid exhibits superior electrochemical stability because the Ni2P nanoparticles are firmly riveted on the graphene sheets. The 3D graphene network enhances the electrical conductivity over the 2D nanostructure. As anode materials for lithium-ion batteries, the graphene-wrapped Ni2P nanoparticles can deliver a reversible capacity of ~400 mAh g?1 after 30 cycles with nearly no fading and also exhibit a good rate performance. The graphene network can serve as a conducting network for fast electron transfer from all directions between the active materials and charge collector, and better buffer spaces to accommodate the volume expansion/contraction during discharge/charge process, which can be considered to contribute to the remarkable cyclic stability, thereby pointing to a new synthetic route to hybridizing graphene with active materials for advanced lithium ion batteries.

The metastable decompositions of trimethylsilylmethanol, (CH3)3SiCH2OH (MW: 104, 1) and methoxytrimethylsilane, (CH3)3SiOCH3 (MW: 104, 2) upon electron ionization have been investigated by use of mass-analyzed ion kinetic energy (MIKE) spectroscopy and D labeling. The metastable ions of 1 ·+ decompose to give the fragment ions m/z 89 (CH 3 · loss) and 73 (·CH2OH loss), whereas those of 2 ·+ only yield the fragment ion m/z 89 (CH 3 · loss). The latter fragment ion is generated by loss of a methyl radical from the trimethylsilyl group via a simple cleavage reaction as shown by D labeling. However, the fragment ions m/z 89 and 73 from 1 ·+ are generated following an almost statistical exchange of the original methyl and methylene hydrogen atoms in the molecular ion as shown also by D labeling. This exchange indicates a complex rearrangement of the molecular ion of 1 ·+ prior to metastable decomposition for which as key step a 1,2-trimethylsilyl group migration from carbon to oxygen is suggested. A different behavior is also found between the source-generated m/z 89 ions from 1 ·+ which decompose in the metastable time region to give ions m/z 61 by loss of ethylene and those from 2 ·+ which decompose in the metastable region to yield ions m/z 59 by elimination of formaldehyde.  相似文献

A novel pH sensing membrane was developed that consists of the ionic liquid n-cetylpyridinium hexafluorophosphate (CPFP), poly(vinyl chloride), and quinhydrone. The membrane is stable and flexible and can be easily deposited on the electrode. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy was used to study the interfacial charge transfer of this membrane. Compared to a traditional plasticizer-based membrane electrode, the new electrode possesses excellent potentiometric characteristics for monitoring pH, such as a response time of less than 10 s, high sensitivity, stability, and reproducibility. The response is almost Nernstian, with a slope of ?57.5?±?0.2 mV pH?1 in the pH range from 2 to 9.5. The new electrode was used for direct monitoring of pH in real food samples.

An unsymmetrical compound, 2,2,3-triphenylpropanoic acid (TPPA), was successfully prepared from phenyllithium, 1,1-diphenylethylene (DPE), gas carbon dioxide (CO2), and aqueous standard solution of hydrochloric acid with LiCl deprivation. Characterization of the compound was performed by 1H and 13C nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. The polymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA) was performed in the presence of TPPA at 95 °C. The free radicals obtained were characterized by ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled with quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC/Q-TOF MS). Gel permeation chromatography (GPC) traces of the average molecular weight of poly(MMA) (PMMA) showed a series of translations with increasing time. The average molecular weight of PMMA indicated narrow polydispersity, and an approximately linear relationship was found between ln ([M]0/[M]) and polymerization time.

Polarization modulation–infrared reflection absorption spectroscopy (PM-IRRAS) was employed to analyze two unique samples: (1) an industrially prepared alkoxysilane-pretreated aluminum alloy (AA6111) in the absence and presence of a ~600-nm-thick lubricant coating and (2) a chemical warfare agent simulant, triethyl phosphate (TEP), on glass. For the pretreated aluminum samples, PM-IRRAS spectra were analyzed for three distinct regions; the SiO stretching vibration around 1120 cm?1, the NH2 bending mode at ~1600 cm?1 and the CH stretching region around 2900 cm?1. Our results showed that increasing the curing temperature (from 55 to 100 °C) improved the overall extent of cross-linking within the siloxane network. In addition, the spectra of lubricant (top coating) and the underlying siloxane layer for the aluminum samples with lubricant were collected for the same sample. Our results show that the nature of the siloxane film remains intact and unaltered after deposition of the lubricant top-coat. For detection of TEP on glass, the band at 1268 cm?1, corresponding to the P═O vibration, was monitored. A droplet of TEP solution in dichloromethane was deposited on glass. After solvent evaporation had occurred, the intensity of the P═O vibration band was used to construct calibration curves to determine the experimental limit of detection, which was found to be ~200 μg for TEP on glass.

Subgroup J of avian leukosis viruses (ALV-J) were electrochemically determined with the help of this electrode. There is a linear relationship between the electron transfer resistance (R et) and the concentration of ALV-J in the range from 527 to 3,162 TCID50?mL?1 (where TCID50 is the 50?% tissue culture infective dose). Chlorocholine chloride/urea (ClChCl–urea), a deep eutectic solvent (DES), was applied successfully to the modification of silica. The resulting modified silica was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, Brunauer–Emmett–Teller analysis, and elemental analysis. Based on the ClChCl–urea modification of silica, the ClChCl–urea-modified silica is a Lewis adduct with ion exchange properties, and ferulic acid was adsorbed on the ClChCl–urea-modified silica via an ion exchange process. The adsorbed percentage of ferulic acid increased with the increasing amount of modified silica, and a high adsorbed percentage of 89 % could be obtained by the ion exchange process. The Freundlich isotherm used to describe the adsorption of ferulic acid on the modified silica by ion exchange showed a good correlation (R 2?=?0.93). Based on the characterization of the structure and the analysis of the ion exchange property of the ClChCl–urea-modified silica, the modified silica as a potential medium can be applied in some analytical technologies such as solid phase extraction, chromatography, and so on.
