Weak Forms of the Axiom of Choice and the Generalized Continuum Hypothesis

In this paper we study some statements similar to the Partition Principle and the Trichotomy. We prove some relationships between these statements, the Axiom of Choice, and the Generalized Continuum Hypothesis. We also prove some independence results. MSC: 03E25, 03E50, 04A25, 04A50.

b~(2)空间及b~(2)空间上的等距映射

等距映射在空间结构的研究中起着很重要的作用,是泛函分析研究的有利工具.本文将介绍一类特殊的F空间,b~(2)空间,然后给出该空间单位球面间满等距映射的表现定理,进而得出b~(2)空间单位球面上满等距映射的线性延拓结论.     

On the Diophantine System a^2 ＋ b^2 = c^3 and a^x ＋ b^y = c^z for b is an Odd Prime

Let a, b and c be fixed coprime positive integers. In this paper we prove that if a^2 ＋ b^2 = c^3 and b is an odd prime, then the equation a^x ＋ b^y = c^z has only the positive integer solution （x, y, z） = （2,2,3）.     

The automorphism group of the Toeplitz algebra onH2(T2)

The automorphism group of the C^* -algebra generated by the Toeplitz operatos with symbols being continuous functions on the bicircle is characterized completely. The investigation is based on the analysis of the behaviour of an automorphism of the Toeplitz algebra on itsC* -ideal chains, and the state of the closed ideals in .     

Pell方程组x~2-(c~2-1)y~2=y~2-2p_1p_2p_3z~2=1的公解

Small embedding characterizations for large cardinals

We show that many large cardinal notions can be characterized in terms of the existence of certain elementary embeddings between transitive set-sized structures, that map their critical point to the large cardinal in question. As an application, we use such embeddings to provide new proofs of results of Christoph Weiß on the consistency strength of certain generalized tree properties. These new proofs eliminate problems contained in the original proofs provided by Weiß.     

Helly-type theorems for pseudoline arrangements in P2

We prove duals of Radon's theorem, Helly's theorem, Carathéodory's theorem, and Kirchberger's theorem for arrangements of pseudolines in the real projective plane, which generalize the original versions of those theorems for plane configurations of points. We also prove a topological generalization of the pseudoline-dual of Helly's theorem.     

An algorithm to obtain the critical values of the t, χ2 and F distributions

In this paper a simple and efficient algorithm for obtaining the critical values of t, χ² and F distributions is proposed. They depend only on a direct iterative rational function. The differences between the proposed algorithm and others are discussed.

Singular sets for curvature equation of order k

We consider the removability of singular sets for the curvature equations of the form Hk[u]=ψ, which is determined by the kth elementary symmetric function, in an n-dimensional domain Ω. We prove that, for 1?k?n−1 and a compact set K whose (n−k)-dimensional Hausdorff measure is zero, any generalized solution to the curvature equation on Ω?K is always extendable to a generalized solution on the whole domain Ω.     

关于L2(Rd)中仿射子空间小波标架的一个注记

研究了L2(Rd)的有限生成仿射子空间中小波标架的构造.证明了任意有限生成仿射子空间都容许一个具有有限多个生成元的Parseval小波标架,并且得到了仿射子空间是约化子空间的一个充分条件.对其傅里叶变换是一个特征函数的单个函数生成的仿射子空间,得到了与小波标架构造相关的投影算子在傅里叶域上的明确表达式,同时也给出了一些例子.     

L2(Rn) boundedness for commutators of oscillatory singular integral operators

The commutators of oscillatory singular integral operators with homogeneous kernel \fracW(x)| x |ⁿ \frac{{\Omega (x)}}{{\left| x \right|^n }} are studied, where Ω is homogeneous of degree zero, has mean value zero on the unit sphere. It is proved that Ω∈L (logL)^K+1(S^n-1) is a sufficient condition under which the k-th order commutator is bounded on L²(Rⁿ).     

L2(Rn) boundedness for commutators of oscillatory singular integral operators

The commutators of oscillatory singular integral operators with homogeneous kernel are studied, where Ω is homogeneous of degree zero, has mean value zero on the unit sphere. It is proved that Ω∈L (logL)^K+1(S^n-1) is a sufficient condition under which the k-th order commutator is bounded on L²(Rⁿ). Supported by NSF of China (1997 1010, 1970 1039)     

Cocycle deformations and Galois objects for semisimple Hopf algebras of dimension p3 and pq2

Let p and q be distinct prime numbers. We study the Galois objects and cocycle deformations of the noncommutative, noncocommutative, semisimple Hopf algebras of odd dimension $p^3$ and of dimension $p{q}^2$. We obtain that the $p+1$ non-isomorphic self-dual semisimple Hopf algebras of dimension $p^3$ classified by Masuoka have no non-trivial cocycle deformations, extending his previous results for the 8-dimensional Kac–Paljutkin Hopf algebra. This is done as a consequence of the classification of categorical Morita equivalence classes among semisimple Hopf algebras of odd dimension $p^3$, established by the third-named author in an appendix.     

A Study Guide for the l2 Decoupling Theorem

This paper contains a detailed, self contained and more streamlined proof of the l ² decoupling theorem for hypersurfaces from the paper of Bourgain and Demeter in 2015. The authors hope this will serve as a good warm up for the readers interested in understanding the proof of Vinogradov’s mean value theorem from the paper of Bourgain, Demeter and Guth in 2015.

设a≥2是正整数.本文证明了:当a=2时,方程X~2一(a~2+1)Y~4=3-4a仅有正整数解(X,Y)=(20,3);当a=3时,该方程仅有2组互素的正整数解(X,Y)=(1,1)和(79,5);当a≥4且4a+1非平方数时,该方程最多有4组互素的正整数解(X,Y);当a≥4且4a+1为平方数时,该方程最多有5组互素的正整数解(X,Y).     

Estimating L ∞ Norms by L 2k Norms for Functions on Orbits

Abstract. Let G be a compact group acting in a real vector space V . We obtain a number of inequalities relating the L ^∞ norm of a matrix element of the representation of G with its L ^2k norm for a positive integer k . As an application, we obtain approximation algorithms to find the maximum absolute value of a given multivariate polynomial over the unit sphere (in which case G is the orthogonal group) and for the assignment problem of degree d , a hard problem of combinatorial optimization generalizing the quadratic assignment problem (in which case G is the symmetric group).
