In"Elements of small orders in K_2(F)"(Algebraic K-Theory,Lecture Notes in Math.,966,1982,1-6.),the author investigates elements of the form {a,Φ_n(a)} in the Milnor group K_2F of a field F,whereΦ_n(x)is the n-th cyclotomic polynomial.In this paper,these elements are generalized.Applying the explicit formulas of Rosset and Tate for the transfer homomorphism for K_2,the author proves some new results on elements of small orders in K_2F.  相似文献

For a field F,let Gn(F) = {{a,Φn(a)} ∈ K2(F) | a,Φn(a) ∈ F*},where Φn(x) is the n-th cyclotomic polynomial.At first,by using Faltings' theorem on Mordell conjecture it is proved that if F is a number field and if n = 4,8,12 is a positive integer having a square factor then Gn(F) is not a subgroup of K2(F),and then by using the results of Manin,Grauert,Samuel and Li on Mordell conjecture theorem for function fields,a similar result is established for function fields over an algebraically closed field.  相似文献

In this paper the author establishes the following1.If M~n(n≥3)is a connected Riemannian manifold,then the sectional curvatureK(p),where p is any plane in T~x(M),is a function of at most n(n-1)/2 variables.Moreprecisely,K(p)depends on at most n(n-1)/2 parameters of group SO(n).2.Lot M~n(n≥3)be a connected Riemannian manifold.If there exists a point x ∈ Msuch that the sectional curvature K(p)is independent of the plane p∈T_x(M),then M is aspace of constant curvature.This latter improves a well-known theorem of F.Schur.  相似文献

In this note,we obtain an asymptotic estimate for the time derivative of the Φ-entropy in terms of the lower bound of the Bakry–Emery Γ2 curvature.In the cases of hyperbolic space and the Heisenberg group(more generally,the nilpotent Lie group of rank two),we show that the time derivative of the Φ-entropy is non-increasing and concave in time t,also we get a sharp asymptotic bound for the time derivative of the entropy in these cases.  相似文献

In his paper,a problem of center-weak focus of a general system of degree n is transformed into a problem of generalized center-weak saddle.It offers:(1) the calculating formula of the saddle values of the former 4 orders in the general system of degree three;(2) some calculating formulae of the saddle values in the general homogeneous system of degree n. The problem of center-focus(saddle)plays an important role in the qualitative theory of ordinary differential equations.However,since the calculations are difficult,the results have not been satisfactory.On the basis of the author‘s work,Northeast.Math.J.,13(4)(1997),487-494,the paper offers some calculating formulae of the saddle values.  相似文献

Let K be a complete algebraically closed p-adic field of characteristic zero.We apply results in algebraic geometry and a new Nevanlinna theorem for p-adic meromorphic functions in order to prove results of uniqueness in value sharing problems, both on K and on C. Let P be a polynomial of uniqueness for meromorphic functions in K or C or in an open disk. Let f, g be two transcendental meromorphic functions in the whole field K or in C or meromorphic functions in an open disk of K that are not quotients of bounded analytic functions. We show that if f′P′( f) and g′P′(g) share a small function α counting multiplicity, then f = g, provided that the multiplicity order of zeros of P′satisfy certain inequalities. A breakthrough in this paper consists of replacing inequalities n ≥ k+2 or n ≥ k+3 used in previous papers by Hypothesis(G). In the p-adic context, another consists of giving a lower bound for a sum of q counting functions of zeros with(q-1) times the characteristic function of the considered meromorphic function.  相似文献

Let Top 0 be the category of topological T 0-spaces, QU 0 the category of quasi-uniform T 0-spaces, T : QU 0 Top 0 the usual forgetful functor and K : QU 0 QU 0 the bicompletion reflector with unit k : 1 → K. Any T-section F : Top 0 QU 0 is called K-true if KF = FTKF, and upper (lower) K-true if KF is finer (coarser) than FTKF. The literature considers important T-sections F that enjoy all three, or just one, or none of these properties. It is known that T(K,k)F is well-pointed if and only if F is upper K-true. We prove the surprising fact that T(K,k)F is the reflection to Fix(TkF) whenever it is idempotent. We also prove a new characterization of upper K-trueness. We construct examples to set apart some natural cases. In particular we present an upper K-true F for which T(K,k)F is not idempotent, and a K-true F for which the coarsest associated T-preserving coreflector in QU 0 is not stable under K. We dedicate this paper to the memory of Sérgio de Ornelas Salbany (1941–2005).  相似文献

It is shown that an n × n matrix of continuous linear maps from a pro-C^*-algebra A to L(H), which verifies the condition of complete positivity, is of the form [V^*TijФ(·)V]^n i,where Ф is a representation of A on a Hilbert space K, V is a bounded linear operator from H to K, and j=1,[Tij]^n i,j=1 is a positive element in the C^*-algebra of all n×n matrices over the commutant of Ф(A) in L(K). This generalizes a result of C. Y.Suen in Proc. Amer. Math. Soc., 112(3), 1991, 709-712. Also, a covariant version of this construction is given.  相似文献

In a letter dated March 3, 1971, L. Carlitz defined a sequence of polynomials, Φ n (a,b; x, y; z), generalizing the Al-Salam & Carlitz polynomials, but closely related thereto. He concluded the letter by stating: “It would be of interest to find properties of Φ n (a, b; x, y; z) when all the parameters are free.” In this paper, we reproduce the Carlitz letter and show how a study of Carlitz’s polynomials leads to a clearer understanding of the general 3Φ2 (a, b, c; d; e; q, z). We consider a variation of a classical Turán-type extremal problem as follows: Determine the smallest even integer σ(Kr,r,n) such that every n-term graphic sequence π = (d1,d2,...,dn) with term sum σ(π) = d1 + d2 + ... + dn ≥ σ(Kr,r,n) is potentially Kr,r-graphic, where Kr,r is an r × r complete bipartite graph, i.e. π has a realization G containing Kr,r as its subgraph. In this paper, the values σ(Kr,r,n) for even r and n ≥ 4r2 - r - 6 and for odd r and n ≥ 4r2 + 3r - 8 are determined.  相似文献

We apply the recently proven compatibility of Beilinson and Soulé elements in K-theory to investigate density of rational primes p, for which the reduction map K 2n+1() K{2n+1}(Fp)is nontrivial. Here n is an even, positive integer and Fp denotes the field of p elements. In the proof we use arithmetic of cyclotomic numbers which come from Soulé elements. Divisibility properties of the numbers are related to the Vandiver conjecture on the class group of cyclotomic fields. Using the K-theory of the integers, we compute an upper bound on the divisibility of these cyclotomic numbers.  相似文献

We give a necessary and sufficient condition for the uniformly non-l n (1) property of Musielak-Orlicz sequence spacesl Φ generated by a sequence Φ=(ϕn:n⩾l) of finite Orlicz functions such that for eachn∈ℕ. As a result, forn 0⩾2, there exist spacesl Φ which are only uniformly non-l n (1) fornn 0. Moreover we obtain a characterization of uniformly non-l n (1) and reflexive Orlicz sequence spaces over a wide class of purely atomic measures and of uniformly non-l n (1) Nakano sequence spaces. Consider G=Z 22 as the group generated by two commuting involutions, and let be a smooth G-action on a smooth and closed manifold M. Suppose that the fixed point set of Φ consists of two connected components, F n and F n-1, with dimensions n and n−1, respectively. In this paper we prove that, if in the fixed data of Φ at least two eigenbundles over F n have dimension greater than n, and at least one eigenbundle over F n-1 has dimension greater than n−1, then the action (M,Φ) bounds equivariantly.It is well known that, if is a smooth involution on a smooth and closed m-dimensional manifold M m such that the fixed point set of T has constant dimension n, and if m > 2n, then (M m ,T) bounds equivariantly; this fact was proved by R. E. Stong and C. Kosniowski 27 years ago. As a consequence of our result, we will see that the same fact is true when, besides n-dimensional components, the fixed point set contains additional (n−1)-dimensional components.  相似文献
