We present the first measurement of the scale-dependent power anisotropy of Elsasser variables in imbalanced fast solar wind turbulence. The dominant Elsasser mode is isotropic at lower spacecraft frequencies but becomes increasingly anisotropic at higher frequencies. The subdominant mode is anisotropic throughout. There are two distinct subranges exhibiting different scalings within what is normally considered the inertial range. The low Alfvén ratio and the different scaling of the Elsasser modes suggests an interpretation of the observed discrepancy between the velocity and magnetic field scalings, the total energy is dominated by the latter. These results do not appear to be fully explained by any of the current theories of incompressible imbalanced MHD turbulence. 相似文献

A branch of high-frequency Alfvénic modes is observed on the HL-2 A tokamak. The electromagnetic mode can be driven unstably in the plasma with an off-axis neutral beam heating. Its mode frequency keeps almost unchanged or presents a slow-sweeping behavior, depending on the detail current evolution. The poloidal and toroidal mode numbers are m/n = 1/1. The randomly driven Cohen–Kulsrud–Burgers equation is used to study the influence of viscous intermediate shocks (IS) on Alfvénic turbulence. Some of these structures are unstable and undergo gradient collapse leading, as the viscosity is reduced, to increasingly intermittent dissipation bursts. The slow decay at intermediate scales of stable IS prevents the existence of a usual inertial range. Furthermore, the dissipation is unable to adiabatically compensate for the energy injection, making the total energy sensitive to the viscosity parameter. Turbulence thus looses its universal character. Preliminary simulations extend these conclusions to magnetohydrodynamic equations with anisotropic viscosity, typical of strongly magnetized plasmas. 相似文献

The non-local transport phenomenon induced by supersonic molecular beam injection (SMBI) was first observed in the HL-2A tokomak. In comparison with the phenomena induced by other methods in various tokamaks, it has its own feature: the effect induced by SMBI in HL-2A lasts much longer than that induced by pellet injection in other similar size tokomaks. Both the bolometer radiation and He emission decrease when the non-local effect appears. This suggests that an electron transport barrier has been formed at the position just outside the q = 1 surface when the non-local effect appears. 相似文献

Experimental evidence is presented for the existence of the theoretically predicted odd toroidicity induced Alfvén eigenmode (TAE) from the simultaneous appearance of odd and even TAEs in a normal shear discharge of the joint European torus. The modes are observed in low central magnetic shear plasmas created by injecting lower hybrid current drive. A fast ion population was created by applying ion cyclotron heating at the high-field side to excite the TAEs. After the charge of heavy ions is considered, a Sagdeev equation is obtained for the solitary kinetic lfvén waves (SKAWs) in a low-β (me/mp « β « or mp/me » α » 1), three-component (electrons, protons, and highly charged heavy ions) plasma. Numerical results show that the charge number q of heavy ions can cause the width of the solitary structure to decrease, but increase for the maximum of electron density nem≤ 1.2 and the initial abundance of heavy ions Cb0 ≤ 0.1. The helicity-induced Alfvén eigenmodes (HAEs) with the toroidal mode number n=2 and 3 are observed for the first time in the Large Helical Device plasmas heated by neutral beam injection. The observed mode frequency is about 8 times higher than that of the observed toroidicity-induced Alfvén eigenmodes, and is proportional to the Alfvén velocity. The modes are excited when the ratio of the beam velocity to the Alfvén velocity exceeds about unity. The frequency lies just above the lower bound of the HAE gap in the plasma edge region of rho>0.7 (rho: normalized minor radius). 相似文献

Reversed-shear Alfvén eigenmodes were observed for the first time in a helical plasma having negative q?' (the curvature of the safety factor q at the zero shear layer). The frequency is swept downward and upward sequentially via the time variation in the maximum of q. The eigenmodes calculated by ideal MHD theory are consistent with the experimental data. The frequency sweeping is mainly determined by the effects of energetic ions and the bulk pressure gradient. Coupling of reversed-shear Alfvén eigenmodes with energetic ion driven geodesic acoustic modes generates a multitude of frequency-sweeping modes. 相似文献

A broadband, O-mode sweeping Doppler reflectometry designed for measuring plasma E×B flow velocity profiles is operated in HL-2A. The main feature of the Doppler reflectometry is its capability to be tuned to any selected frequency in total waveband from 26-40 GHz. This property enables us to probe several plasma layers within a short time interval during a discharge, permitting the characterization of the radial distribution of plasma fluctuations. The system allows us to extract important information about the velocity change layer, namely its spatial localization. In purely Ohmic discharge a change of the E×B flow velocity profiles has been observed in the region for 28 〈 r 〈 30cm if only the line average density exceeds 2.2×10^19 m^-3.
