By the intracellular calcium ionic minimal model proposed by Berridge, we investigated the collective response of two-dimensional
(N×N) coupled cell systems to the external stimulation using numerical simulation methods. With a coupled intensity fixed and
an appropriate coupled cell number chosen, the kinetic system size resonance was discovered. At the same time, it was found
that the system size responding to the external stimulation for different coupled intensities transferred too, especially
when the coupled intensity increased, the range of the corresponding system size extended. These phenomena illustrate that
the coupled cell number and the coupled intensity can play constructive roles in noisy coupled systems, by which the biology
system would probably improve its capability to respond to the external stimulation. 相似文献

The mode characteristics for two coupled microdisks are investigated by the finite-difference time-domain technique. In the two coupled micodisks, mode coupling between the same order whispering-gallery modes (WGMs) results in coupled WGMs with split mode wavelengths. The numerical results show that the split mode wavelengths of the coupled first- and second-order WGMs can have a crossing point in some cases, which can induce anticrossing mode coupling between them and greatly reduce the mode Q factor of the coupled first-order WGMs. The time variation of mode field pattern shows the transformation between the coupled first- and second-order WGMs. 相似文献

A unidirectionally coupled system of Microelectromechanical Systems (MEMS) resonators is investigated. Local bifurcations of both the single resonator and the coupled system are analyzed in the design of the coupled system. We discuss the behavior of the coupled system according to the change in the coupling parameter and the excitation force. Phenomena such as quasiperiodic oscillations and synchronization are shown by numerical simulations and studied analytically through perturbation methods. The coupled system shows oscillatory behavior without the excitation force. In the presence of the excitation force the coupled system exhibits complex behavior which can be beneficial in the design of the coupled system as a sensor. 相似文献

Measure synchronization in coupled Hamiltonian systems is a novel
synchronization phenomenon. The measure synchronization on symplectic map is
observed numerically, for identical coupled systems with different
parameters. We have found the properties of the characteristic frequency and
the amplitude of phase locking in regular motion when the measure
synchronization of coupled systems is obtained. The relations between the
change of the largest Lyapunov exponent and the course of phase
desynchronization are also discussed in coupled systems, some useful results
are obtained. A new approach is proposed for describing the measure
synchronization of coupled systems numerically, which is
advantage in judging the measure synchronization, especially for the coupled

Coupled discrete models abound in several areas of physics. Here we provide an extensive set of exact quasiperiodic solutions of a number of coupled discrete models in terms of Lamé polynomials of order one and two. Some of the models discussed are: (i) coupled Salerno model, (ii) coupled Ablowitz–Ladik model, (iii) coupled saturated discrete nonlinear Schrödinger equation, (iv) coupled ? 4 model and (v) coupled ? 6 model. We present an automatic control method for phase locking of regular and chaotic nonidentical oscillations, when all subsystems interact via feedback. This method is based on the well known principle of feedback control which takes place in nature and is successfully used in engineering. In contrast to unidirectional and bidirectional coupling, the approach presented here supposes the existence of a special controller, which allows to change the parameters of the controlled systems. First we discuss general principles of automatic phase synchronization (PS) for arbitrary coupled systems with a controller whose input is given by a special quadratic form of coordinates of the individual systems and its output is a result of the application of a linear differential operator. We demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach for controlled PS on several examples: (i) two coupled regular oscillators, (ii) coupled regular and chaotic oscillators, (iii) two coupled chaotic Rössler oscillators, (iv) two coupled foodweb models, (v) coupled chaotic Rössler and Lorenz oscillators, (vi) ensembles of locally coupled regular oscillators, (vii) ensembles of locally coupled chaotic oscillators, and (viii) ensembles of globally coupled chaotic oscillators. 相似文献

We demonstrate the hybridization of the plasmonic modes in directly coupled whispering gallery cavities fabricated on silver films and present the mode patterns and energy levels using cathodoluminescence spectroscopy.Although the energy of the most antisymmetrically coupled modes is higher than that of the corresponding symmetrically coupled ones,the contrary cases happen for small quantum number modes.We attribute the phenomenon to the different surface plasmon polariton paths between the symmetrically and antisymmetrically coupled modes.These results provide an understanding of the resonant properties in coupled plasmonic cavities,which have potential applications in nanophotonic devices. 相似文献

Coupled Iterated Map Models of Action Potential Dynamics in a One-dimensional Cable of Cardiac Cells
Low-dimensional iterated map models have been widely used to study action potential dynamics in isolated cardiac cells. Coupled iterated map models have also been widely used to investigate action potential propagation dynamics in one-dimensional (1D) coupled cardiac cells, however, these models are usually empirical and not carefully validated. In this study, we first developed two coupled iterated map models which are the standard forms of diffusively coupled maps and overcome the limitations of the previous models. We then determined the coupling strength and space constant by quantitatively comparing the 1D action potential duration profile from the coupled cardiac cell model described by differential equations with that of the coupled iterated map models. To further validate the coupled iterated map models, we compared the stability conditions of the spatially uniform state of the coupled iterated maps and those of the 1D ionic model and showed that the coupled iterated map model could well recapitulate the stability conditions, i.e., the spatially uniform state is stable unless the state is chaotic. Finally, we combined conduction into the developed coupled iterated map model to study the effects of coupling strength on wave stabilities and showed that the diffusive coupling between cardiac cells tends to suppress instabilities during reentry in a 1D ring and the onset of discordant alternans in a periodically paced 1D cable. 相似文献

An information-theoretic measure is introduced for evaluating the dynamical coupling of spatiotemporally chaotic signals produced by extended systems. The measure of the one-way coupled map lattices and the one-dimensional, homogeneous, diffusively coupled map lattices is computed with the symbolic analysis method. The present review is devoted to the study of the problem of coupled anharmonic oscillators. A perturbative solution is obtained for the system of an undamped and the damped coupled anharmonic oscillators in the coherent state representation. The solution does not contain the vicious secular terms and shows, explicitly, the anharmonic effects of a coupled system. In order to derive the perturbative solution of a damped coupled system a new frame of time, called quasi time τ, has been exploited. The large quantum number behaviour of coupled anharmonic oscillators has been derived using the path integral method. 相似文献

将所有燃烧室部件(气缸盖-气缸套-活塞组-润滑油膜)作为一个耦合体,在对耦合体进行三维传热数值模拟的基础上,利用分区求解、边界耦合法建立缸内工作过程与燃烧室部件的三维耦合计算模型,从而实现缸内工作过程与燃烧室部件的耦合三维仿真模拟,以此考察燃烧室部件传热空间非均匀性对缸内燃烧的影响。研究结果表明,燃烧室部件传热空间非均匀性在喷雾过程几乎对燃烧没有任何影响,可以忽略不计;燃烧过程后期,这种传热空间非均匀性才越来越明显,由此可以推断,燃烧室部件传热空间非均匀性的影响在排气过程将进一步加剧。 相似文献

The coupled equations for the incoherently coupled soliton pairs in biased photorefractive polymer are provided. It is shown that the coupled soliton equations reduce to Manakov equations when the total intensity of two coupled solitons is much lower than the background illumination. The bright-bright, dark-dark, and grey-grey soliton pair solutions of these Manakov equations are obtained, and the characteristics of these Manakov solitons are also discussed. 相似文献
