Treatment of the bridging bidentate 1,Z-bis(aminopropyl)-1,Z-dicarba-closo-dodecaborane(12)(1,Z-bis(aminopropyl)-1,Z-carborane) ligands of the type 1,Z-[H(2)N(CH(2))(3)](2)-1,Z-C(2)B(10)H(10)(L(1), Z= 7, 5) or (L(2), Z= 12, 6) with two equivalents of trans-[PtClI(2)(NH(3))](-), followed by halogen ligand metathesis with AgOTf and HCl((aq)) afforded the novel diplatinum(II)-amine species cis-[[PtCl(2)(NH(3))](2)L(n)](7(n= 1) or 8(n= 2), respectively). Similarly, the reaction of L(1) or L(2) with the labile trans-[PtCl(dmf)(NH(3))(2)](+) afforded trans-[[PtCl(NH(3))(2)](2)L(n)](OTf)(2)(9(n= 1) or 10(n= 2), respectively) in good yield and purity. However, isolation of the analogous 1,2-carborane complexes was not possible owing to decomposition reactions that led to extensive degradation of the carborane cage and reduction of the metal centre. The mixed dinuclear complex [cis-[PtCl(2)(NH(3))]-L(1)-trans-[PtCl(NH(3))(2)]]OTf (19) was prepared by treatment of the Boc-protected amine ligand 1-[(Boc)(2)N(CH(2))(3)]-7-[H(2)N(CH(2))(3)]-1,7-C(2)B(10)H(10)(L(3), 15) with trans-[PtCl(dmf)(NH(3))(2)](+) to yield trans-[PtCl(NH(3))(2)L(3)]OTf (16), followed by acid deprotection of the pendant amine group, complexation with trans-[PtClI(2)(NH(3))](-), and halogen ligand metathesis using AgOTf and HCl((aq)). A novel trinuclear species containing 5 was prepared by the addition of two equivalents of 15 to the labile precursor cis-[Pt(dmf)(2)(NH(3))(2)](2+) followed by acid deprotection of the pendant amine groups. Further complexation with two equivalents of trans-[PtClI(2)(NH(3))](-) followed by halogen ligand metathesis using AgOTf and HCl((aq)) afforded the triplatinum(II)-amine species [cis-[Pt(NH(3))(2)(L(1))(2)]-cis-[PtCl(2)(NH(3))](2)](OTf)(2)(23). Complexes 7-10, 19 and 23 represent the first examples of multinuclear platinum(ii)-amine derivatives containing carborane cages. Preliminary in vitro cytotoxicity studies for selected complexes are also reported.  相似文献

The intercalation of Co(2+), [Co(NH(3))(6)](3+), and [Co(NH(3))(5)Cl](2+) ions into layered manganese oxide (birnessite) was studied by chemical, XRD, SEM, IR, and DTA-TG analyses. The intercalation reaction progressed by a 2:1 or 3:1 ion-exchange mechanism depending on the valence of the starting ions. The oxidation state of cobalt did not change with the intercalation reaction. The intercalation of [Co(NH(3))(6)](3+) ions resulted in an increase of basal spacing from 0.716 to 0.956 nm, giving a layered structure material consisting mainly of platelike particles. The chemical analysis results showed that the structure of [Co(NH(3))(6)](3+) ions was maintained in the interlayer. On the other hand, an H(2)O/NH(3) ligand exchange reaction progressed for the intercalation of [Co(NH(3))(5)Cl](2+) ions, resulting in an increase in the basal spacing from 0.716 to 0.956 nm.  相似文献

The trans-[Ru(NO)(NH(3))(4)(P(OH)(3))]Cl(3) complex was synthesized by reacting [Ru(H(2)O)(NH(3))(5)](2+) with H(3)PO(3) and characterized by spectroscopic ((31)P-NMR, δ = 68 ppm) and spectrophotometric techniques (λ = 525 nm, ε = 20 L mol(-1) cm(-1); λ = 319 nm, ε = 773 L mol(-1) cm(-1); λ = 241 nm, ε = 1385 L mol(-1) cm(-1); ν(NO(+)) = 1879 cm(-1)). A pK(a) of 0.74 was determined from infrared measurements as a function of pH for the reaction: trans-[Ru(NO)(NH(3))(4)(P(OH)(3))](3+) + H(2)O ? trans-[Ru(NO)(NH(3))(4)(P(O(-))(OH)(2))](2+) + H(3)O(+). According to (31)P-NMR, IR, UV-vis, cyclic voltammetry and ab initio calculation data, upon deprotonation, trans-[Ru(NO)(NH(3))(4)(P(OH)(3))](3+) yields the O-bonded linkage isomer trans- [Ru(NO)(NH(3))(4)(OP(OH)(2))](2+), then the trans-[Ru(NO)(NH(3))(4)(OP(H)(OH)(2))](3+) decays to give the final products H(3)PO(3) and trans-[Ru(NO)(NH(3))(4)(H(2)O)](3+). The dissociation of phosphorous acid from the [Ru(NO)(NH(3))(4)](3+) moiety is pH dependent (k(obs) = 2.1 × 10(-4) s(-1) at pH 3.0, 25 °C).  相似文献

Electrospray ionization of an aqueous solution of nickel(II) sulfate provides direct experimental evidence for the formation of triple ions of the type [Ni(2)(SO(4))(H(2)O)(n)](2+) and [Ni(SO(4))(2)](2-), whose existence in aqueous solution has previously been proposed based on relaxation spectroscopy [Chen et al. J. Sol. Chem. 2005, 34, 1045]. Formally, these triple ions are formed by aggregation of the solvated ions Ni(2+) and SO(4)(2-), respectively, with the neutral ion pair NiSO(4). In addition, also higher adducts are observed, e.g. the "pentuple ions" [Ni(3)(SO(4))(2)(H(2)O)(n)](2+) (n = 7-9) and [Ni(2)(SO(4))(3)](2-), of which the dicationic is extensively hydrated, whereas the anionic is not. The structures of the dinuclear nickel clusters are derived from ab initio calculations and their infrared spectra are compared with experimental data obtained for the gaseous ions [Ni(2)SO(4)(H(2)O)(5)](2+) and [Ni(2)(SO(4))(3)](2-), respectively. The calculations show that the structures are crucially controlled by the degree of solvation of nickel ion. Explicit consideration of solvating water molecules within the first coordination sphere suggest that the dicationic triple ion [Ni(2)SO(4)](aq)(2+) is bent and thus bears a permanent dipole moment, whereas the [Ni(SO(4))(2)](aq)(2-) dianion tends to be quasi-linear. The experimental and theoretical data for the gaseous ions thus support the elegant, but indirect, deductions previously made based on solution-phase studies.  相似文献

Superoxometal complexes L(H(2)O)MOO(2+) (L = (H(2)O)(4), (NH(3))(4), or N(4)-macrocycle; M = Cr(III), Rh(III)) react with iodide ions according to the stoichiometry L(H(2)O)MOO(2+) + 3I(-) + 3H(+) --> L(H(2)O)MOH(2+) + 1.5I(2) + H(2)O. The rate law is -d[L(H(2)O)MOO(2+)]/dt = k [L(H(2)O)MOO(2+)][I(-)][H(+)], where k = 93.7 M(-2) s(-1) for Cr(aq)OO(2+), 402 for ([14]aneN(4))(H(2)O)CrOO(2+), and 888 for (NH(3))(4)(H(2)O)RhOO(2+) in acidic aqueous solutions at 25 degrees C and 0.50 M ionic strength. The Cr(aq)OO(2+)/I(-) reaction exhibits an inverse solvent kinetic isotope effect, k(H)()2(O)/k(D)2(O) = 0.5. In the proposed mechanism, the protonation of the superoxo complex precedes the reaction with iodide. The related Cr(aq)OOH(2+)/I(-) reaction has k(H)2(O)/k(D)2(O) = 0.6. The oxidation of (NH(3))(5)Rupy(2+) by Cr(aq)OO(2+) exhibits an [H(+)]-dependent pathway, rate = (7.0 x 10(4) + 1.78 x 10(5)[H(+)])[Ru(NH(3))(5)py(2+)][Cr(aq)OO(2+)]. Diiodine radical anions, I(2)(*)(-), reduce Cr(aq)OO(2+) with a rate constant k = 1.7 x 10(9) M(-1) s(-1).  相似文献

High-resolution (1)H and (13)C NMR studies on the linkage isomers [(NH(3))(5)CoOC(S)NHCH(3)](2+) and [(NH(3))(5)CoSC(O)NHCH(3)](2+) reveal that the O-bonded form exists as a 5:1 mixture of Z and E isomers arising from restricted rotation about the C-N bond. Similarly, restricted rotation is observed (at 20 degrees C) for the S-bonded isomer (Z/E ca. 18:1), but not for the isoelectronic carbamate ion [(NH(3))(5)CoOC(O)NHCH(3)](2+), nor for the unsubstituted carbamato complex [(NH(3))(5)CoOC(O)NH(2)](2+). An analysis of the variable-temperature NMR data for the O-bonded carbamato and urea complexes has provided quantitative data on the rotational barriers, and these ions involve much faster C-N bond rotations than the thiocarbamato complexes. The acid-catalyzed reaction of [(NH(3))(5)CoOC(S)NHCH(3)](2+) is confirmed, but there is much less parallel hydrolysis (ca. 2%) than previously reported (40 +/- 10%) for 0.1 M HClO(4). In 1 M HClO(4), [(NH(3))(5)CoSC(O)NHCH(3)](2+) and [(NH(3))(5)CoOH(2)](3+) are formed in parallel as an 83:17 mixture. The kinetic data suggest that the protonated form is at least 20-fold more reactive than the free ion and that the linkage isomerization and hydrolysis pathways are both acid-catalyzed, the latter clearly more so than the rearrangement.  相似文献

The reaction of a potential mono(nucleobase) model adduct of cisplatin, cis-[Pt(NH(3))(2)(1-MeC-N3)(H(2)O)](2+) (6; 1-MeC: 1-methylcytosine), with the electrophile [Pd(en)(H(2)O)(2)](2+) (en: ethylenediamine) at pH approximately 6 yields a kinetic product X which is likely to be a dinuclear Pt,Pd complex containing 1-MeC(-)-N3,N4 and OH bridges, namely cis-[Pt(NH(3))(2)(1-MeC(-)-N3,N4)(OH)Pd(en)](2+). Upon addition of excess Ag(+) ions, conversion takes place to form a thermodynamic product, which, according to (1)H NMR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography, is dominated by a mu-NH(2) bridge between the Pt(II) and Pd(II) centers. X-ray crystallography reveals that the compound crystallizes out of solution as a dodecanuclear complex containing four Pt(II), four Pd(II), and four Ag(+) entities: [{Pt(2)(1-MeC(-)-N3,N4)(2)(NH(3))(2)(NH(2))(2)(OH)Pd(2)(en)(2)Ag}(2){Ag(H(2)O)}(2)](NO(3))(10) 6 H(2)O (10) is composed of a roughly planar array of the 12 metal ions, in which the metal ions are interconnected by mu-NH(2) groups (between Pt and Pd centers), mu-OH groups (between pairs of Pt atoms), and metal-metal donor bonds (Pt-->Ag, Pd-->Ag). The four 1-methylcytosinato ligands, which are stacked pairwise, as well as the four NH(3) ligands and parts of the en rings, are approximately perpendicular to the metal plane. Two of the four Ag ions (Ag2, Ag2') of 10 are labile in solution and show the expected behavior of Ag(+) ions in water, that is, they are readily precipitated as AgCl by Cl(-) ions. The resulting pentanuclear complex [Pt(2)Pd(2)Ag(1-MeC(-))(2)(NH(2))(2)(OH)(NH(3))(2)(en)(2)](NO(3))(4)7 H(2)O (11) largely maintains the structural features of one half of 10. The other two Ag(+) ions (Ag1, Ag1') of 10 are remarkably unreactive toward excess NaCl. In fact, the pentanuclear complex [Pt(2)Pd(2)AgCl(1-MeC(-))(2)(NH(2))(2)(OH)(NH(3))(2)(en)(2)](NO(3))(3)4.5 H(2)O (12), obtained from 10 with excess NaCl, displays a Cl(-) anion bound to the Ag center (2.459(3) A) and is thus a rare case of a crystallized "AgCl molecule".  相似文献

At pH = 1 and 25 degrees C, the Fenton-like reactions of Fe(aq)(2+) with hydroperoxorhodium complexes LRh(III)OOH(2+) (L = (H(2)O)(NH(3))(4), k = 30 M(-1) s(-1), and L = L(2) = (H(2)O)(meso-Me(6)-[14]aneN(4)), k = 31 M(-1) s(-1)) generate short-lived, reactive intermediates, believed to be the rhodium(IV) species LRh(IV)O(2+). In the rapid follow-up steps, these transients oxidize Fe(aq)(2+), and the overall reaction has the standard 2:1 [Fe(aq)(2+)]/[LRhOOH(2+)] stoichiometry. Added substrates, such as alcohols, aldehydes, and (NH(3))(4)(H(2)O)RhH(2+), compete with Fe(aq)(2+) for LRh(IV)O(2+), causing the stoichiometry to change to <2:1. Such competition data were used to determine relative reactivities of (NH(3))(4)RhO(2+) toward CH(3)OH (1), CD(3)OH (0.2), C(2)H(5)OH (2.7), 2-C(3)H(7)OH (3.4), 2-C(3)D(7)OH (1.0), CH(2)O (12.5), C(2)H(5)CHO (45), and (NH(3))(4)RhH(2+) (125). The kinetics and products suggest hydrogen atom abstraction for (NH(3))(4)RhO(2+)/alcohol reactions. A short chain reaction observed with C(2)H(5)CHO is consistent with both hydrogen atom and hydride transfer. The rate constant for the reaction between Tl(aq)(III) and L(2)Rh(2+) is 2.25 x 10(5) M(-1) s(-1).  相似文献

The compounds [Ru(NH(3))(5)(dtdp)](TFMS)(3), [Os(NH(3))(5)(dtdp)](TFMS)(3), [(NH(3))(5)Os(dtdp)Os(NH(3))(5)](TFMS)(6), [(NH(3))(5)Os(dtdp)Ru(NH(3))(5)](TFMS)(3)(PF(6))(2), and [(NH(3))(5)Os(dtdp)Fe(CN)(5)] (dtdp = 4,4'-dithiodipyridine, TFMS = trifluoromethanesulfonate) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, cyclic voltammetry, electronic, vibrational, EPR, and (1)H NMR spectroscopies. Changes in the electronic and voltammetric spectra of the ion complex [Os(NH(3))(5)(dtdp)](3+) as a function of the solution pH enable us to calculate the pK(a) for the [Os(NH(3))(5)(dtdpH)](4+) and [Os(NH(3))(5)(dtdpH)](3+) acids as 3.5 and 5.5, respectively. The comparison of the above pK(a) data with that for the free ligand (pK(1) = 4.8) provides evidence for the -S-S- bridge efficiency as an electron conductor between the two pyridine rings. The symmetric complex, [(NH(3))(5)Os(dtdp)Os(NH(3))(5)](6+), is found to exist in two geometric forms, and the most abundant form (most probably trans) has a strong conductivity through the -S-S- bridge, as is shown by EPR, which finds it to have an S = 1 spin state with a spin-spin interaction parameter of 150-200 G both in the solid sate and in frozen solution. Further the NMR of the same complex shows a large displacement of unpaired spin into the pi orbitals of the dttp ligand relative to that found in [Os(NH(3))(5)(dtdp)](3+). The comproportionation constant, K(c) = 2.0 x 10(5), for the equilibrium equation [Os(II)Os(II)] + [Os(III)Os(III)] right harpoon over left harpoon 2[Os(II)Os(III)] and the near-infrared band energy for the mixed-valence species (MMCT), [(NH(3))(5)Os(dtdp)Os(NH(3))(5)](5+) (lambda(MMCT) = 1665 nm, epsilon = 3.5 x 10(3) M(-)(1) cm(-)(1), deltanu(1/2) = 3.7 x 10(3) cm(-)(1), alpha = 0.13, and H(AB) = 7.8 x 10(2) cm(-)(1)), are quite indicative of strong electron delocalization between the two osmium centers. The electrochemical and spectroscopic data for the unsymmetrical binuclear complexes [(NH(3))(5)Os(III)(dtdp)Ru(II)(NH(3))(5)](5+) (lambda(MMCT) = 965 nm, epsilon = 2.2 x 10(2) M(-)(1) cm(-)(1), deltanu(1/2) = 3.0 x 10(3) cm(-)(1), and H(AB) = 2.2 x 10(2) cm(-)(1)) and [(NH(3))(5)Os(III)(dtdp)Fe(II)(CN)(5)] (lambda(MMCT) = 790 nm, epsilon = 7.5 x 10 M(-)(1) cm(-)(1), deltanu(1/2) = 5.4 x 10(3) cm(-)(1), and H(AB) = 2.0 x 10(2) cm(-)(1)) also suggest a considerable electron delocalization through the S-S bridge. As indicated by a comparison of K(c) and energy of the MMCT process in the iron, ruthenium, and osmium complexes, the electron delocalization between the two metal centers increases in the following order: Fe < Ru < Os.  相似文献

Two Fe(II) complexes fac-[Fe(II)(HL(n-Pr))(3)]Cl·Y (Y = AsF(6) (1) and BF(4) (2)) were synthesized, where HL(n-Pr) is 2-methylimidazole-4-yl-methylideneamino-n-propyl. Each complex-cation has the same octahedral N(6) geometry coordinated by three bidentate ligands and assumes facial-isomerism, fac-[Fe(II)(HL(n-Pr))(3)](2+) with Δ- and Λ-enantiomorphs. Three imidazole groups per Δ- or Λ-fac-[Fe(II)(HL(n-Pr))(3)](2+) are hydrogen-bonded to three Cl(-) ions or, from the viewpoint of the Cl(-) ion, one Cl(-) ion is hydrogen-bonded to three neighbouring fac-[Fe(II)(HL(n-Pr))(3)](2+) cations. The 3?:?3 NH···Cl(-) hydrogen bonds between Δ- or Λ-fac-[Fe(II)(HL(n-Pr))(3)](2+) and Cl(-) generate two kinds of assembly structures. The directions of the 3?:?3 NH···Cl(-) hydrogen bonds and hence the resulting assembly structures are determined by the size of the anion Y, though Y is not involved into the network structure and just accommodated in the cavity. Compound 1 has a 1D ladder structure giving a larger cavity, in which the Δ- and Λ-fac-[Fe(II)(HL(n-Pr))(3)](2+) enantiomorphs are bridged by two NH···Cl(-) hydrogen bonds. Compound 2 has a 2D network structure with a net unit of a cyclic trimer of {fac-[Fe(II)(HL(n-Pr))(3)](2+)···Cl(-)}(3) giving a smaller cavity, in which Δ- or Λ-fac-[Fe(II)(HL(n-Pr))(3)](2+) species with the same chirality are linked by NH···Cl(-) hydrogen bonds to give a homochiral 2D network structure. Magnetic susceptibility and M?ssbauer spectral measurements demonstrated that compound 1 showed an abrupt one-step spin crossover with 4.0 K thermal hysteresis of T(c↓) = 125.5 K and T(c↑) = 129.5 K and compound 2 showed no spin transition and stayed in the high-spin state over the 5-300 K temperature range.  相似文献

Powerful reductants [Os(II)(NH(3))(5)L](2+) (L = OH(2), CH(3)CN) can be generated upon ultraviolet excitation of relatively inert [Os(II)(NH(3))(5)(N(2))](2+) in aqueous and acetonitrile solutions. Reactions of photogenerated Os(II) complexes with methyl viologen to form methyl viologen radical cation and [Os(III)(NH(3))(5)L](3+) were monitored by transient absorption spectroscopy. Rate constants range from 4.9 × 10(4) M(-1) s(-1) in acetonitrile solution to 3.2 × 10(7) (pH 3) and 2.5 × 10(8) M(-1) s(-1) (pH 12) in aqueous media. Photogeneration of five-coordinate Os(II) complexes opens the way for mechanistic investigations of activation/reduction of CO(2) and other relatively inert molecules.  相似文献

The reaction of cis-[Ru(NO)(CH(3)CN)(bpy)(2)](3+) (bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine) in H(2)O at room temperature proceeded to afford two new nitrosylruthenium complexes. These complexes have been identified as nitrosylruthenium complexes containing the N-bound methylcarboxyimidato ligand, cis-[Ru(NO)(NH=C(O)CH(3))(bpy)(2)](2+), and methylcarboxyimido acid ligand, cis-[Ru(NO)(NH=C(OH)CH(3))(bpy)(2)](3+), formed by an electrophilic reaction at the nitrile carbon of the acetonitrile coordinated to the ruthenium ion. The X-ray structure analysis on a single crystal obtained from CH(3)CN-H(2)O solution of cis-[Ru(NO)(NH=C(O)CH(3))(bpy)(2)](PF(6))(3) has been performed: C(22)H(20.5)N(6)O(2)P(2.5)F(15)Ru, orthorhombic, Pccn, a = 15.966(1) A, b = 31.839(1) A, c = 11.707(1) A, V = 5950.8(4) A(3), and Z = 8. The structural results revealed that the single crystal consisted of 1:1 mixture of cis-[Ru(NO)(NH=C(O)CH(3))(bpy)(2)](2+) and cis-[Ru(NO)(NH=C(OH)CH(3))(bpy)(2)](3+) and the structural formula of this single crystal was thus [Ru(NO)(NH=C(OH(0.5))CH(3))(bpy)(2)](PF(6))(2.5). The reaction of cis-[Ru(NO)(CH(3)CN)(bpy)(2)](3+) in dry CH(3)OH-CH(3)CN at room temperature afforded a nitrosylruthenium complex containing the methyl methylcarboxyimidate ligand, cis-[Ru(NO)(NH=C(OCH(3))CH(3))(bpy)(2)](3+). The structure has been determined by X-ray structure analysis: C(25)H(29)N(8)O(18)Cl(3)Ru, monoclinic, P2(1)/c, a = 13.129(1) A, b = 17.053(1) A, c = 15.711(1) A, beta = 90.876(5) degrees, V = 3517.3(4) A(3), and Z = 4.  相似文献

A study of absorption spectra in the near-infrared (NIR) and visible (vis) regions of trinuclear Ru complexes containing pyrazine (pyz) as bridging ligand, trans-[(Ru(NH(3))(5)pyz)(2)Ru(NH(3))(4)](m+)(m = 6-9), is reported. The spectra were recorded on aqueous solutions containing the described species formed in situ by stoichiometric additions of a standard solution of Ce(SO(4))(2). They were interpreted in terms of a simple 5-orbital-3-parameter model which includes the effects of d-pi interaction and electronic correlation. The model is shown to account for the observed NIR-vis spectra of the complex ions. The 6+ parent species was synthesized by an improved literature method and fully characterized. The novel 8+ complex was also prepared and characterized. The 9+ ion was established to be slowly reduced by water, with dioxygen formation. Electrochemical (CV and DPV) studies were performed on the trinuclear 6+ complex, as well as on its constituent fragments [Ru(NH(3))(5)(pyz)](2+) and trans-[Ru(NH(3))(4)(pyz)(2)](2+).  相似文献

The new, monometal substituted silicotungstates [Mn(H(2)O)(2)(gamma-SiW(10)O(35))(2)](10-) (1), [Co(H(2)O)(2)(gamma-SiW(10)O(35))(2)](10-) (2) and [Ni(H(2)O)(2)(gamma-SiW(10)O(35))(2)](10-) (3) have been synthesized and isolated as the potassium salts K(10)[Mn(H(2)O)(2)(gamma-SiW(10)O(35))(2)] x 8.25 H(2)O (K-1), K(10)[Co(H(2)O0(2)(gamma-SiW(10)O(35))(2)] x 8.25 H(2)O (K-2) and K(10)[Ni(H(2)O)(2)(gamma-SiW(10)O(35))(2)] x 13.5 H(2)O (K-3), which have been characterized by IR spectroscopy, single crystal X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis and cyclic voltammetry. Polyanions 1-3 are composed of two (gamma-SiW(10)O(36)) units fused on one side via two W-O-W' bridges and on the other side by an octahedrally coordinated trans-MO(4)(OH(2))(2) transition metal fragment, resulting in a structure with C(2v) point group symmetry. Anions 1-3 were synthesized by reaction of the dilacunary precursor [gamma-SiW(10)O(36)](8-) with Mn(2+), Co(2+) and Ni(2+) ions, respectively, in 1 M KCl solution at pH 4.5. The electrochemical properties of 1-3 were studied by cyclic voltammetry and controlled potential coulometry in a pH 5 buffer medium. The waves associated with the W-centers are compared with each other and with those of the parent lacunary precursor [gamma-SiW(10)O(36)](8-) in the same medium. They appear to be dominated by the acid-base properties of the intermediate reduced species. A facile merging of the waves for 3 is observed while those for 1 and 2 remain split. Controlled potential coulometry of the single wave of 3 or the combined waves of 1 and 2 is accompanied by catalysis of the hydrogen evolution reaction. No redox activity was detected for the Ni(2+) center in 3, whereas the Co(2+) center in 2 shows a one-electron redox process. The two-electron, chemically reversible process of the Mn(2+) center in 1 is accompanied by a film deposition on the electrode surface.  相似文献

The first structural characterization of the text-book tetraammineberyllium(II) cation [Be(NH(3))(4)](2+), obtained in the compounds [Be(NH(3))(4)](2)Cl(4)?17NH(3) and [Be(NH(3))(4)]Cl(2), is reported. Through NMR spectroscopic and quantum chemical studies, its hydrolysis products in liquid ammonia were identified. These are the dinuclear [Be(2)(μ-OH)(NH(3))(6)](3+) and the cyclic [Be(2)(μ-OH)(2)(NH(3))(4)](2+) and [Be(3)(μ-OH)(3)(NH(3))(6)](3+) cations. The latter species was isolated as the compound [Be(3)(μ-OH)(3)(NH(3))(6)]Cl(3)?7NH(3). NMR analysis of solutions of BeF(2) in liquid ammonia showed that the [BeF(2)(NH(3))(2)] molecule was the only dissolved species. It acts as a strong fluoride-ion acceptor and forms the [BeF(3)(NH(3))](-) anion in the compound [N(2)H(7)][BeF(3)(NH(3))]. The compounds presented herein were characterized by single-crystal X-ray structure analysis, (9)Be, (17)O, and (19)F?NMR, IR, and Raman spectroscopy, deuteration studies, and quantum chemical calculations. The extension of beryllium chemistry to the ammine system shows similarities but also decisive differences to the aquo system.  相似文献

Novel polynuclear complexes of rhenium and ruthenium containing PCA (PCA = 4-pyridinecarboxaldehyde azine or 4-pyridinealdazine or 1,4-bis(4-pyridyl)-2,3-diaza-1,3-butadiene) as a bridging ligand have been synthesized as PF(6-) salts and characterized by spectroscopic, electrochemical, and photophysical techniques. The precursor mononuclear complex, of formula [Re(Me(2)bpy)(CO)(3)(PCA)](+) (Me(2)bpy = 4,4'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine), does not emit at room temperature in CH(3)CN, and the transient spectrum found by flash photolysis at lambda(exc) = 355 nm can be assigned to a MLCT (metal-to-ligand charge transfer) excited state [(Me(2)bpy)(CO)(3)Re(II)(PCA(-))](+), with lambda(max) = 460 nm and tau < 10 ns. The spectral properties of the related complexes [[Re(Me(2)bpy)(CO)(3)}(2)(PCA)](2+), [Re(CO)(3)(PCA)(2)Cl], and [Re(CO)(3)Cl](3)(PCA)(4) confirm the existence of this low-energy MLCT state. The dinuclear complex, of formula [(Me(2)bpy)(CO)(3)Re(I)(PCA)Ru(II)(NH(3))(5)](3+), presents an intense absorption in the visible spectrum that can be assigned to a MLCT d(pi)(Ru) --> pi(PCA); in CH(3)CN, the value of lambda (max) = 560 nm is intermediate between those determined for [Ru(NH(3))(5)(PCA)](2+) (lambda(max) = 536 nm) and [(NH(3))(5)Ru(PCA)Ru(NH(3))(5)](4+) (lambda(max) = 574 nm), indicating a significant decrease in the energy of the pi-orbital of PCA. The mixed-valent species, of formula [(Me(2)bpy)(CO)(3)Re(I)(PCA)Ru(III)(NH(3))(5)](4+), was obtained in CH(3)CN solution, by bromine oxidation or by controlled-potential electrolysis at 0.8 V in a OTTLE cell of the [Re(I),Ru(II)] precursor; the band at lambda(max) = 560 nm disappears completely, and a new band appears at lambda(max) = 483 nm, assignable to a MMCT band (metal-to-metal charge transfer) Re(I) --> Ru(III). By using the Marcus-Hush formalism, both the electronic coupling (H(AB)) and the reorganization energy (lambda) for the metal-to-metal intramolecular electron transfer have been calculated. Despite the considerable distance between both metal centers (approximately 15.0 Angstroms), there is a moderate coupling that, together with the comproportionation constant of the mixed-valent species [(NH(3))(5)Ru(PCA)Ru(NH(3))(5)](5+) (K(c) approximately 10(2), in CH(3)CN), puts into evidence an unusual enhancement of the metal-metal coupling in the bridged PCA complexes. This effect can be accounted for by the large extent of "metal-ligand interface", as shown by DFT calculations on free PCA. Moreover, lambda is lower than the driving force -DeltaG degrees for the recombination charge reaction [Re(II),Ru(II)] --> [Re(I),Ru(III)] that follows light excitation of the mixed-valent species. It is then predicted that this reverse reaction falls in the Marcus inverted region, making the heterodinuclear [Re(I),Ru(III)] complex a promising model for controlling the efficiency of charge-separation processes.  相似文献

The Pd(II) complexes [Pd([9]aneS(3))(2)](PF(6))(2)·2MeCN (1) ([9]aneS(3) = 1,4,7-trithiacyclononane) and [Pd([18]aneS(6))](PF(6))(2) (2) ([18]aneS(6) = 1,4,7,10,13,16-hexathiacyclooctadecane) can be oxidized electrochemically or chemically oxidized with 70% HClO(4) to [Pd([9]aneS(3))(2)](3+) and [Pd([18]aneS(6))](3+), respectively. These centers have been characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, and by UV/vis and multifrequency electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopies. The single crystal X-ray structures of [Pd(III)([9]aneS(3))(2)](ClO(4))(6)·(H(3)O)(3)·(H(2)O)(4) (3) at 150 K and [Pd([18]aneS(6))](ClO(4))(6)·(H(5)O(2))(3) (4) at 90 K reveal distorted octahedral geometries with Pd-S distances of 2.3695(8), 2.3692(8), 2.5356(9) and 2.3490(6), 2.3454(5), 2.5474(6) ?, respectively, consistent with Jahn-Teller distortion at a low-spin d(7) Pd(III) center. The Pd(II) compound [Pd([9]aneS(3))(2)](PF(6))(2) shows a one-electron oxidation process in MeCN (0.2 M NBu(4)PF(6), 293 K) at E(1/2) = +0.57 V vs. Fc(+)/Fc assigned to a formal Pd(III)/Pd(II) couple. Multifrequency (Q-, X-, S-, and L-band) EPR spectroscopic analysis of [Pd([9]aneS(3))(2)](3+) and [Pd([18]aneS(6))](3+) gives g(iso) = 2.024, |A(iso(Pd))| = 18.9 × 10(-4) cm(-1); g(xx) = 2.046, g(yy) = 2.041, g(zz) = 2.004;?|A(xx(Pd))| = 24 × 10(-4) cm(-1), |A(yy(Pd))| = 22 × 10(-4) cm(-1), |A(zz(Pd))| = 14 × 10(-4) cm(-1), |a(xx(H))| = 4 × 10(-4) cm(-1), |a(yy(H))| = 5 × 10(-4) cm(-1), |a(zz(H))| = 5.5 × 10(-4) cm(-1) for [Pd([9]aneS(3))(2)](3+), and g(iso) = 2.015, |A(iso(Pd))| = 18.8× 10(-4) cm(-1); g(xx) = 2.048 g(yy) = 2.036, g(zz) = 1.998; |a(xx(H))| = 5, |a(yy(H))| = 5, |a(zz(H))| = 6 × 10(-4) cm(-1); |A(xx(Pd))| = 23× 10(-4) cm(-1), |A(yy(Pd))| = 22 × 10(-4) cm(-1), |A(zz(Pd))| = 4 × 10(-4) cm(-1) for [Pd([18]aneS(6))](3+). Both [Pd([9]aneS(3))(2)](3+) and [Pd([18]aneS(6))](3+) exhibit five-line superhyperfine splitting in the g(zz) region in their frozen solution EPR spectra. Double resonance spectroscopic measurements, supported by density functional theory (DFT) calculations, permit assignment of this superhyperfine to through-bond coupling involving four (1)H centers of the macrocyclic ring. Analysis of the spin Hamiltonian parameters for the singly occupied molecular orbital (SOMO) in these complexes gives about 20.4% and 25% Pd character in [Pd([9]aneS(3))(2)](3+) and [Pd([18]aneS(6))](3+), respectively, consistent with the compositions calculated from scalar relativistic DFT calculations.  相似文献

A complex containing the face-capped octahedral [Re(6)(mu(3)-Se)(8)](2+) cluster core, cis-[Re(6)(mu(3)-Se)(8)(PPh(3))(4)(4,4'-dipyridyl)(2)](SbF(6))(2) (1), is used as a ditopic ligand with an enforced right angle between the two 4,4'-dipyridyl moieties for the coordination of Cd(2+) ion. Two coordination polymers, [[Re(6)(mu(3)-Se)(8)(PPh(3))(4)(4,4'-dipyridyl)(2)](2)[Cd(NO(3))(2)]](SbF(6))(4).21C(4)H(10)O.21CH(2)Cl(2) (2) and [[Re(6)(mu(3)-Se)(8)(PPh(3))(4)(4,4'-dipyridyl)(2)][Cd(NO(3))(3)]](NO(3)).2C(4)H(10)O.CH(2)Cl(2) (3), are obtained. The relative concentration of Cd(2+) determines which species is isolated, and the conversion of the first structure into the second is demonstrated experimentally.  相似文献

The aquachromyl(IV) ion, Cr(aq)O(2+), reacts with acetaldehyde and pivaldehyde by hydrogen atom abstraction and, in the presence of O(2), produces acylperoxyl radicals, RC(O)OO(*). In the next step, the radicals react with Cr(aq)OO(2+), a species accompanying Cr(aq)O(2+) in our preparations. The rate constant for the Cr(aq)OO(2+)/CH(3)C(O)OO(*) cross reaction, k(Cr) = 1.5 x 10(8) M(-1) s(-1), was determined by laser flash photolysis. The evidence points to radical coupling at the remote oxygen of Cr(aq)OO(2+), followed by elimination of O(2) and formation of CH(3)COOH and Cr(V)(aq)O(3+). The latter disproportionates and ultimately yields Cr(aq)(3+) and HCrO(4)(-). No CO(2) was detected. The Cr(aq)OO(2+)/C(CH(3))(3)C(O)OO(*) reaction yielded isobutene, CO(2), and Cr(aq)(3+), in addition to chromate. In the suggested mechanism, the transient Cr(aq)OOOO(O)CC(CH(3))(3)(2+) branches into two sets of products. The path leading to chromate resembles the CH(3)C(O)OO(*) reaction. The other products arise from an unprecedented intramolecular hydrogen transfer from the tert-butyl group to the CrO entity and elimination of CO(2) and O(2). A portion of C(CH(3))(3)C(O)OO(*) was captured by (CH(3))(3)COO(*), which was in turn generated by decarbonylation of acyl radicals and oxygenation of tert-butyl radicals so formed.  相似文献
