TheΞ - p differential elastic cross section has been measured in the SPS hyperon beam at 102 and 135 GeV/c. In the range 0.012, thet distributions are found to be compatible with the formA exp(Bt) whereB is 7.7±0.4(GeV/c)?2 at 102 GeV/c and 8.2 ±0.5(GeV/c)?2 at 135 GeV/c. The corresponding total elastic cross sections areσ el=4.9±0.7 mb andσ el=5.6±0.9 mb, respectively. These results are compared with the predictions of phenomenological models.  相似文献

Differential cross sections of single particles and multiparticle systems produced in K?p interactions at 110 GeV/c are presented. At large values of transverse momentum (p) we find the multiparticle cross section to be an order of magnitude larger than that for single particles. This and other features of our data are consistent with results obtained at 200 GeV/c, that have been interpreted as evidence of a new dynamical mechanism in hadron-hadron interactions. However, similar features are observed in a K?p experiment at 16 GeV/c.  相似文献

Measurements of e+e? → e+e? at 2.8 GeV are reported and interpreted in terms of limits for the mass and coupling of a possible scalar boson of the type introduced in recent renormalizable models of weak interactions. In particular, in the Georgi-Glashow scheme of leptons we find that the scalar boson mass must be larger than 10 GeV for an mW = 10 GeV (mW mass of the W-boson) and of 6.5 GeV for mW = 15 GeV. Alternatively its coupling is extremely weak.  相似文献

Intranuclear cascading mechanism one of the important non-linear effects in high energy nucleusnucleus collisions is investigated. The data on multiplicity (n s ) and pseudorapidity (η) distributions of shower particles produced by32S and16O at 200A GeV,16O at 60A GeV,28Si at 14.5A GeV and He at ≈140A GeV are presented and compared with the string model VENUS, which takes into account the cascade interactions of secondary particles. The effect of the intranuclear collisions on the distributions of <η> versus <n s > is discussed for all the beams.  相似文献

Neutral pions (π0) in √NN=200 GeV and 62.4 GeV Au+Au collisions were measured at RHIC-PHENIX Year-4 Run. In √NN=200 GeV, π0 spectra are measured up to p T=20 GeV/c. A strong suppression by a factor of ~5 is observed and stays almost constant up to 20 GeV/c.  相似文献

Data on antiproton-proton cross sections at the c.m. energies 200 and 900 GeV are presented. The data were obtained at the CERN antiproton-proton Collider operated in a new pulsed mode in which the same beams were accelerated and decelerated between beam energies of 450 and 100 GeV. The properties of the machine determine the ratio of the luminosities at the two energies to about 1% and thus an accurate measurement of the ratioR of the inelastic cross sections could be made. We findR (=σ 900/σ 200)=1.20±0.01±0.02, where the first error is statistical and the second systematic. Interpolating existing data to estimateσ ine1(200 GeV) this measurement ofR leads toσ ine1(900 GeV)=50.3+0.4+1.0 mb. Using an extrapolated value ofσ e1/σ tot we estimate the total cross section at 900 GeV to be 65.3±0.7±1.5 mb. Both the inelastic and total cross sections are compatible with a ln2 s dependence. Comparisons are made with different fits to the total cross section energy dependence.  相似文献

Negative results of a search for heavy quasistable charged leptons at the IHEP accelerator are reported. For the selection of heavy leptons a system of scintillation and gas ?erenkov counters was used. The upper limit estimations of the differential cross sections for heavy lepton production in pN collisions at Ep = 70 GeV are, for example, d2σ/d (p = 30 GeV/c, θ = 2 mrad, 1 ? Mλ ? 4.8 GeV) = 4.10?38 cm2/sr · GeV. The results of the present work, together with the data on muon pair production in nucleon-nucleon interactions, show that there are no heavy charged leptons with masses from 0.55 GeV (τλ > 7 · 10?10 sec) up to 4.5 GeV (τλ > 3 · 10?8 sec).  相似文献

This article reviews the Higgs searches at the Tevatron, as presented over the summer of 2012; both standard model (SM) and beyond the standard model (BSM) results are discussed as detailed (arXiv: 1207.0449; Phys. Rev. Lett., 2012, 109: 071804; Phys. Rev. D, 2012, 85: 032005). We discuss the combination of searches by the CDF and D0 Collaborations for the standard model Higgs boson in the mass range 100–200 GeV/c 2 produced in the the ggH, WH, ZH, t{ie27-1}H, and vector boson fusion production modes, and decaying in the Hb{ie27-2}, HW + W ?, HZZ, Hτ + τ ?, and Hγγ modes. The data, collected at the Fermilab Tevatron collider in p{ie27-3} collisions at {ie27-4} TeV, correspond to integrated luminosities of up to 10 fb?1. In the absence of signal, we expect to exclude the regions 100<m H < 120 GeV/c 2 and 139<m H < 184 GeV/c 2. We exclude, at the 95% C.L., two regions: 100<m H < 103 GeV/c 2, and 147<m H < 180 GeV/c 2. We observe a significant excess of events in the mass range between 115 and 140 GeV/c 2. The local significance corresponds to 3.0 standard deviations at m H = 120 GeV/c 2; the global significance (incorporating the look-elsewhere effect) for such an excess anywhere in the full mass range investigated is approximately 2.5 standard deviations. Furthermore, we separately combine searches for Hb{ie27-5}, HW+W ? and Hγγ. We find that the excess is concentrated in the Hb{ie27-6} channel, appearing in the searches over a broad range of m H ; the maximum local significance of 3.3 standard deviations corresponds to a global significance of approximately 3.1 standard deviations. The observed signal strengths in all channels are consistent with the expectation for a standard model Higgs boson at m H = 125 GeV/c 2. The production of neutral Higgs bosons in association with b-quarks can be significantly enhanced in various beyond the standard model scenarios, including Supersymmetry. The recent combination of such searches from the two collaborations is discussed.  相似文献

The pronounced dip-bump structure with a sharp minimum at |t| = 1.5 (GeV/c)2, recently observed in elastic pp scattering at PL = 50 GeV/c at the CERN SPS, is explained by the quark multiple scattering model with a realistic wavefunction for the proton and the antiproton. It is predicted that a second dip will appear around |t| = 7 (GeV/c)2 at PL = 50 GeV/ c and at higher energies.  相似文献

The invariant cross-section slope of the pp→π+π?+X process as a function of pT is found to have a break near 1 GeV/c. Fitting the cross section by a sum of two exponents gives the values of powers (12.3±0.9)(GeV/c)?1 and (8.7±0.6)(GeV/c)?1. The experimental points at pT?1 GeV/c are significantly higher than predictions based on hard scattering models such as QCD and CIM.  相似文献

Topological cross sections are presented for K+p, K?p and pp interations at 32 GeV/c and for π+p and π?p interactions at 50 GeV/c observed in the 4.5 m Mirabelle hydrogen bubble chamber at Serpukhov. Parameters characterizing the behaviour of the multiplicity distributions, namely 〈nc〉, D and f2 and the normalized moments are given. The dependence of these parameters on the energy and the nature of the beam particle is discussed. The multiplicity distributions obtained cannot be described by a single function in the KNO variables.  相似文献

We have analysed all available data on the non-singlet neutrino structure functionxF 3 taking into account systematic errors and EMC corrections. A good fit to all data withQ 2≧5 (GeV/c)2,W 2≧10 (GeV/c)2 is obtained neglecting higher twist contributions, with Λ=0.18±0.07 GeV, corresponding toα s (Q 2=25(GeV/c)2)=0.18±0.02. On lowering the cuts toQ 2≧3 (GeV/c)2,W 2≧3 (GeV/c)2, we find evidence for a small negative higher-twist term. Incorporating such a term in a simple parametrisation yields an increased Λ value of 0.27±0.05 GeV, corresponding toα s (Q 2=25(GeV/c)2)=0.20±0.01.  相似文献

A detailed analysis ofK s 0 production in \(\bar pp\) |<2.5 the average transverse momentum is found to be 0.53±0.07 GeV/c at 200 GeV and 0.62±0.08 GeV/c at 900 GeV, which is an increase with respect to data at c.m. energies below 60 GeV. TheK s 0 production cross sections in inelastic collisions are 29±4 mb at 200 GeV and 63±6 mb at 900 GeV, showing an increase compared to lower energy data. The central kaon density is found to increase as a logarithmic function of energy. At 900 GeV, where statistics are sufficient to allow one to draw conclusions, the average transverse momentum is higher in events with large charged multiplicity than in events with low multiplicity.  相似文献

Antiproton-proton elastic scattering has been measured at 5 GeV/c. A total of 30 000 events were observed in the angular range 17° < θcm < 136°, corresponding to 0.3 < −t < 7.7 (GeV/c2). In addition to the known dip at −t = 0.5 (GeV/c)2, we observe a structure at about −t = 2 (GeV/c)2 and a backward peak with a slope4.1 ± 0.6 (GeV/c)2. The extrapolated differential cross-section at u = 0 is 1.3 ± 0.8 μb/(GeV/c)2.  相似文献

Inclusive spectra of π? production for pp interactions are discussed at 69 GeV/c both in the central and in the fragmentation region and are compared to data at lower and higher energies. The pT dependence of the invariant structure function is also analysed.  相似文献

The ηη system produced in charge-exchange π ? p interaction at a momentum of 32.5 GeV/c is studied in an experiment performed with the GAMS-4π spectrometer at the 70-GeV accelerator of the Institute for High-Energy Physics (IHEP, Protvino). A partial-wave analysis is performed in the mass range between 1.1 and 3.9 GeV for ?t <0.2 (GeV/c)2, S, D, G, and J waves being taken into account in this analysis. The S wave has a complicated structure, displaying peaks at about 1.5 and 1.7 GeV. These peaks are associated with the f 0(1500) and f 0(1710) mesons. One of the solutions (preferable one) involves the f 0(2200) and f 2(1950) resonances. The mass region above 2.4 GeV is dominated by the G wave. A broad state of mass about 3 GeV and width 0.7 GeV is found in the J wave. The parameters of the resonances in question and their production cross sections are measured.  相似文献

The upper and the lower bounds of the lightest CP-even Higgs-boson mass (mh) are discussed in the two-Higgs-doublet model (2HDM) with a softly-broken discrete symmetry. They are obtained as a function of a cut-off scale Λ (≤1019 GeV) by imposing the conditions in which the running coupling constants neither blow up nor fall down below Λ. In comparison with the standard model (SM), although the upper bound does not change very much, the lower bound is considerably reduced. In the decoupling regime where only one Higgs boson (h) becomes much lighter than the others, the lower bound is given, for example, by about 100 GeV for Λ=1019 GeV and mt=175 GeV, which is smaller by about 40 GeV than the corresponding lower bound in the SM. In generic cases, mh is no longer bounded from below by these conditions. If we consider the b constraint, small values of mh are excluded in Model II of the 2HDM.  相似文献

An isospin subtraction technique is used to derive distributions for π± Ne→pX with an incident π momentum of 30 GeV/c, using precision bubble chamber measurements. Although final-state protons can only be identified by conventional techniques, i.e. ionization, forp p ≦1 GeV/c, this technique allows us to statistically derive inclusive distributions for protons above 1 GeV/c. Combining these distributions with the identified proton distributions, the total inclusive proton distributions are compared with previously reported results at 10 GeV/c. The 10 and 30 GeV/c distributions are essentially identical, despite a factor of 1.7 increase inE CM between the two systems.  相似文献

The azimuthal asymmetry is measured for the emission of Z ≥ 2 particles from the interaction of 22Ne, 24Mg, 32S, 56Fe, 197Au, and 207Pb nuclei with photoemulsion nuclei that is induced by semicentral collisions characterized by projectile energies in the range E pr = 1.88–200 GeV per nucleon and by impact-parameter (b) values in the range 0.12 ≤ b/b max ≤ 0.70. The results of these measurements are compared with the results of similar measurements for protons. It is found that, at a low energy of E pr ≈ 2 GeV per nucleon, the ratio of the azimuthal-anisotropy coefficients v 2 for Z ≥ 2 particles and protons is 6 ± 2, but that, for energies in the region E pr ≥ 4 GeV per nucleon, the coefficients in question agree with each other. This may suggest that, at low energies, Z ≥ 2 particles are predominantly formed at an early stage of the development of a collective flow. For E pr ≥ 4 GeV per nucleon, these particles are presumably formed at the stage of nuclear-matter expansion. Other possible explanations for the results of the observation of an elliptic flux of Z ≥ 2 particles are discussed.  相似文献
