We shall develop a method to prove inequalities in a unified manner. The idea is as follows: It is quite often possible to find a continuous functional : n , such that the left- and the right-hand side of a given inequality can be written in the form (u)(v) for suitable points,v=v(u). If one now constructs a map n n , which is functional increasing (i.e. for each x n (which is not a fixed point of ) the inequality (x)<((x)) should hold) one specially gets the chain (u)( u))( 2(u))... n (u)). Under quite general conditions one finds that the sequence { n (u)} n converges tov=v(u). As a consequence one obtains the inequality (u)(v).  相似文献

Let denote a bipartite distance-regular graph with diameter D 4, valency k 3, and distinct eigenvalues 0 > 1 > ··· > D. Let M denote the Bose-Mesner algebra of . For 0 i D, let E i denote the primitive idempotent of M associated with i . We refer to E 0 and E D as the trivial idempotents of M. Let E, F denote primitive idempotents of M. We say the pair E, F is taut whenever (i) E, F are nontrivial, and (ii) the entry-wise product E F is a linear combination of two distinct primitive idempotents of M. We show the pair E, F is taut if and only if there exist real scalars , such that i + 1 i + 1 i – 1 i – 1 = i ( i + 1 i – 1) + i ( i + 1 i – 1) + (1 i D – 1)where 0, 1, ..., D and 0, 1, ..., D denote the cosine sequences of E, F, respectively. We define to be taut whenever has at least one taut pair of primitive idempotents but is not 2-homogeneous in the sense of Nomura and Curtin. Assume is taut and D is odd, and assume the pair E, F is taut. We show
for 1 i D – 1, where = 1, = 1. Using these equations, we recursively obtain 0, 1, ..., D and 0, 1, ..., D in terms of the four real scalars , , , . From this we obtain all intersection numbers of in terms of , , , . We showed in an earlier paper that the pair E 1, E d is taut, where d = (D – 1)/2. Applying our results to this pair, we obtain the intersection numbers of in terms of k, , 1, d, where denotes the intersection number c 2. We show that if is taut and D is odd, then is an antipodal 2-cover.  相似文献

We study the lower semicontinuous envelope in Lp(), F, of a functional F of the form F(u)=A uudx where A=A(x) is not strictly elliptic and not bounded. We prove that F; may also be written as F;(u)= Buudx with B=AP A for a matrix P which is the matrix of an orthogonal projection. In the one-dimensional case, we characterize the domain of F and we explicit the matrix P.  相似文献

The problem of existence of wave operators for the Klein-Gordon equation ( t 2 –+2+iV1t+V2)u(x,t)=0 (x R n,t R, n3, >0) is studied where V1 and V2 are symmetric operators in L2(R n) and it is shown that conditions similar to those of Veseli-Weidmann (Journal Functional Analysis 17, 61–77 (1974)) for a different class of operators are also sufficient for the Klein-Gordon equation.  相似文献

Let H be a bialgebra and H LH be the category of Long H-dimodules defined, for a commutative and co-commutative H, by F. W. Long and studied in connection with the Brauer group of a so-called H-dimodule algebra. For a commutative and co-commutative H, H LH =H YDH (the category of Yetter–Drinfel'd modules), but for an arbitrary H, the categories H LH and H YDH are basically different. Keeping in mind that the category H YDH is deeply involved in solving the quantum Yang–Baxter equation, we study the category H LH of H-dimodules in connection with what we have called the D-equation: R12 R23 = R23 R12, where R Endk(M M) for a vector space M over a field k. The main result is a FRT-type theorem: if M is finite-dimensional, then any solution R of the D-equation has the form R = R(M, , ), where (M, , ) is a Long D(R)-dimodule over a bialgebra D(R) and R(M, , ) is the special map R(M, , )(m n) : = n1 m n0. In the last section, if C is a coalgebra and I is a coideal of C, we introduce the notion of D-map on C, that is a k-bilinear map : C C / I k satisfying a condition which ensures on the one hand that, for any right C-comodule, the special map R is a solution of the D-equation and, on the other, that, in the finite case, any solution of the D-equation has this form.  相似文献

Summary The following Artin type characterization of : + + is proved: Assume thatf: + + satisfies the Gauss multiplication formula for some fixedp 2,f is absolutely continuous on [l/p, 1 + ] for some > 0 and lim x 0 xf(x) = 1. Thenf(x) = (x) forx > 0.The optimality of this result is checked by means of counterexamples. For instance, it is shown that the result is no longer true, if f is absolutely continuous is replaced by f is continuous and of finite variation.  相似文献

We prove a local limit theorem (LLT) on Cramer-type large deviations for sums S V = t V ( t ), where t , t Z , 1, is a Markov Gaussian random field, V Z , and is a bounded Borel function. We get an estimate from below for the variance of S V and construct two classes of functions , for which the LLT of large deviations holds.  相似文献

A study is made of the effect of deviation from half-filling of the energy band (0) on the Fröhlich collective mode in onedimensional impurity systems. A low impurity concentration is considered, and the infinite series of impurity scattering is taken into account self-consistently in the determination of the collective mode Green's function. The conductivity () is found in terms of this Green's function, and an analytic expression is obtained for () at T ( T is the pinning frequency). It is shown that for the ratio Re(()/max) a universal formula arises. It differs from the results of Kurihara in the expression for T , which contains an essential dependence on in the incommensurate state of the charge density wave. It is also shown that the width of the peak in the dependence () and its position increase with increasing .Institute of Applied Physics, Moldovan Academy of Sciences. In the representation theory of symmetric groups, for each partition of a natural number n, the partition h() of n is defined so as to obtain a certain set of zeros in the table of characters for Sn. Namely, h() is the greatest (under the lexicographic ordering ) partition among P(n) such that (g) 0. Here, is an irreducible character of Sn, indexed by a partition , and g is a conjugacy class of elements in Sn, indexed by a partition . We point out an extra set of zeros in the table that we are dealing with. For every non self-associated partition P(n), the partition f() of n is defined so that f() is greatest among the partitions of n which are opposite in sign to h() and are such that (g) 0 (Thm. 1). Also, for any self-associated partition of n > 1, we construct a partition () P(n) such that () is greatest among the partitions of n which are distinct from h() and are such that (g) 0 (Thm. 2).Supported by RFBR grant No. 04-01-00463 and by RFBR-BRFBR grant No. 04-01-81001.Translated from Algebra i Logika, Vol. 44, No. 1, pp. 24–43, January–February, 2005.  相似文献

In this paper equivalent classes of the classes M' and S' p r, p >1, 0,r {0,1,2,...,[]} defined by Sheng [5] are obtained. Then it is shown that the classes of Fourier coefficients S p, S' p(case r==0) and S p(), p>1, defined by . V. Stanojevi, V. B. Stanojevi Sheng and the author of the present note are identical. As a corollary of this result, the L 1-estimate for cosine series, obtained in [10], is refined.  相似文献

Every elementary Markov process with a polish state space and with a discrete set of time parameter dense in +, whose finite dimensional distributions are derived from a semigroup (K t) of Markov kernels continuous in 0 + and whose initial distribution satisfies K t, can be imbedded in an elementary Markov process with the same state space and with parameter set + so that the corresponding finite dimensional distributions are equal.  相似文献

Summary We investigate generalizations of the classical Jensen and Chebyshev inequalities. On one hand, we restrict the class of functions and on the other we enlarge the class of measures which are allowed. As an example, consider the inequality (J)(f(x) d) A (f(x) d, d d = 1. Iff is an arbitrary nonnegativeL x function, this holds if 0, is convex andA = 1. Iff is monotone the measure need not be positive for (J) to hold for all convex withA = 1. If has higher monotonicity, e.g., is also convex, then we get a version of (J) withA < 1 and measures that need not be positive.  相似文献

Summary We study a class of generalized gamma functions k (z) which relate to the generalized Euler constants k (basically the Laurent coefficients of(s)) as (z) does to the Euler constant. A new series expansion for k is derived, and the constant term in the asymptotic expansion for log k (z) is studied in detail. These and related constants are numerically computed for 1 k 15.  相似文献

On a measurable space (T, , ) we choose an additive measure: Z (Z is a Banach space) with the following property: for alle , we have ; this measure defines an indefinite integral over the measure onL 2 (T, ,). We prove that if { n (t)} n =1/ is an orthonormal basis inL 2 and n (e)=e n (t) d, then any additive measure: Z whose Radon-Nikodým derivatived/d belongs toL 2 is uniquely expandable in a series(e)= n =1/ n n(e) that converges to(e) uniformly with respect toe can be differentiated term-by-term, and satisfies n =1/ n /2 <. Let 1, 2, ... be a sequence of independent identically distributed random variables with zero means. We consider the functional n = k=o n (S k ) where S1=0, Sk= i=1 k i (k1) and(x)=1 for x0,(x) = 0 for x<0. It is readily seen that n is the time spent by the random walk Sn, n0, on the positive semi-axis after n steps. For the simplest walk the asymptotics of the distribution P (n = k) for n and k, as well as for k = O(n) and k/n<1, was studied in [1]. In this paper we obtain the asymptotic expansions in powers of n–1 of the probabilities P(hn = nx) and P(nx1 n nx2) for 0<1, x = k/n 2<1, 0<1x122<1.Translated from Matematicheskie Zametki, Vol. 15, No. 4, pp. 613–620, April, 1974.The author wishes to thank B. Summary Denote by k a class of familiesP={P} of distributions on the line R1 depending on a general scalar parameter , being an interval of R1, and such that the moments µ1()=xdP ,...,µ2k ()=x 2k dP are finite, 1 (), ..., k (), k+1 () ..., k () exist and are continuous, with 1 () 0, and j +1 ()= 1 () j () +[2() -1()2] j ()/ 1 (), J=2, ..., k. Let 1x=x 1 + ... +x n/n, 2=x 1 2 + ... +x n 2/n, ..., k =(x 1 k + ... +x n k/n denote the sample moments constructed for a sample x1, ..., xn from a population with distribution Pg. We prove that the estimator of the parameter by the method of moments determined from the equation 1= 1() and depending on the observations x1, ..., xn only via the sample mean ¯x is asymptotically admissible (and optimal) in the class k of the estimators determined by the estimator equations of the form 0 () + 1 () 1 + ... + k () k =0 if and only ifP k .The asymptotic admissibility (respectively, optimality) means that the variance of the limit, as n (normal) distribution of an estimator normalized in a standard way is less than the same characteristic for any estimator in the class under consideration for at least one 9 (respectively, for every ).The scales arise of classes 1 2... of parametric families and of classes 1 2 ... of estimators related so that the asymptotic admissibility of an estimator by the method of moments in the class k is equivalent to the membership of the familyP in the class k .The intersection consists only of the families of distributions with densities of the form h(x) exp {C0() + C1() x } when for the latter the problem of moments is definite, that is, there is no other family with the same moments 1 (), 2 (), ...Such scales in the problem of estimating the location parameter were predicted by Linnik about 20 years ago and were constructed by the author in [1] (see also [2, 3]) in exact, not asymptotic, formulation.Translated from Problemy Ustoichivosti Stokhasticheskikh Modelei, pp. 41–47, 1981.  相似文献

Pair algebras which have a non degenerate (left- and right-) invariant bilinear form and for which the inner derivation algebra is completely reducible are characterised by pairs (C,), where C is a n×n matrix satisfying certain conditions and is a sequence of n integers equal to 0 or 1. They occur as pair algebras of type (S(C,)–1,S(C,)1), xuy=[[x,u],y], where (S(C,)r)r is the gradation induced by . in the Kac-Moody algebraS(C). If C is an affin Cartan matrix (as in the case of Lie triple systems), there exists a finite dimensional simple Lie algebrag and a Aut (g), ord =m< such that the pair algebra is isomorphic to the pair algebra (g –1,g 1), xuy=[[x,u],y] (product ing), whereg i. is the eigenspace of of eigenvalue i, a primitive m-th root of unity.  相似文献

In this paper solutions in series form for the stresses due to a nucleus of thermo-elastic strain in an infinite elastic solid in the presence of a spherical cavity and also in an elastic solid sphere have been found.
