A comparison of the temperature dependence of the P-hit single event transient (SET) in a two-transistor (2T) inverter with that in a three-transistor (3T) inverter is carried out based on a three-dimensional numerical simulation. Due to the significantly distinct mechanisms of the single event change collection in the 2T and the 3T inverters, the temperature plays different roles in the SET production and propagation. The SET pulse will be significantly broadened in the 2T inverter chain while will be compressed in the 3T inverter chain as temperature increases. The investigation provides a new insight into the SET mitigation under the extreme environment, where both the high temperature and the single event effects should be considered. The 3T inverter layout structure (or similar layout structures) will be a better solution for spaceborne integrated circuit design for extreme environments.  相似文献

Quantitative Relaxation Tomography in porous media furnishes maps of internal sections where each pixel represents T1 or T2 of water 1H in the corresponding voxel, so that quantitative information on the pore space structure can be obtained. The porosity can be determined at different length scales by correcting pixel by pixel the signal intensity for T2 decay. Moreover, on the basis of the distribution of T1, the microporosity fraction can be computed, as well as several voxel-average porosities. Since T1 and T2 encode different pieces of information, fusion image techniques can improve the characterization of the pore space, showing simultaneously, on the same image, maps of the two parameters. Examples are given of application to a water-saturated travertine core and to a pig femur. Different kinds of look-up tables were tried by varying two of the three dimensions of the HSV color space in such a way as to optimize both the T1 and T2 contrasts simultaneously.  相似文献

Evaluation of glycosaminoglycan (GAG) concentration in articular cartilage is of particular interest to the study of degenerative joint diseases such as osteoarthritis (OA). Noninvasive imaging techniques such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT) have demonstrated the potential to assess biochemical markers of cartilage integrity such as GAG content; however, many imaging techniques are available and the optimization of particular techniques in the diagnosis of joint disease remains an active area of research. In order to highlight the differences between these various approaches, this work compares MRI (T1, T2 and T1ρ) and contrast-enhanced CT in human articular cartilage, in both the presence and absence of gadolinium-based contrast agent. Pre- and postcontrast T2 values were found to be similar on a regional level and correlated with each other. As expected, T1 values were shortened significantly on both a global and a spatial basis in the presence of gadolinium (Gd); similar results were found for T1ρ. T2 values were found to correlate mildly with postcontrast T1, T1(Gd) and with precontrast T1ρ values. In addition, contrast-enhanced CT values correlated with both precontrast T1ρ and T1(Gd) more strongly than with precontrast T2. Finally, T1(Gd) and precontrast T1ρ were found to be moderately correlated with CT data. However, T1(Gd) and precontrast T1ρ were found to be almost completely uncorrelated. Together, these results indicate that T1ρ, T2 and contrast-enhanced techniques may provide complementary information about the molecular environment in cartilage during the evolution of OA.  相似文献

In vivo measurement of T2 relaxation times in multiple sclerosis (MS) lesions by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is potentially useful for the evaluation of the disease activity. Seven patients with definite MS were investigated over a period of three years (19 examinations), using a whole-body MRI scanner operating at 0.15 T with a specially designed high-power radio-frequency head coil. A modified CPMG sequence with a 180 degree pulse interval of TE = 6 msec and 128 echoes was used for the T2 relaxation measurement of the areas of increased signal (AIS) and white matter (WM). A biexponential T2 analysis of each pixel of the spin-echo images was computed. The T2 relaxation processes were found to be a monoexponential function in WM. The T2 relaxation times of apparently normal white matter in MS patients was significantly longer than in control subjects. The T2 relaxation curves of the AIS were found in most cases to fit a biexponential function characterized by a short and a long T2. T2 long relaxation times of AIS were spread out over a wide range (150-560 msec). The study of T2 long histograms shows that some AIS can be divided into two or three parts depending on the T2 long values. Each of these parts may correspond to a pathological process such as edema, demyelination and gliosis. Evolution of T2 relaxation times over a period of time cannot as yet be correlated with modifications in the clinical state.  相似文献

Proton spin-lattice and spin-spin relaxation times have been measured in surgically-removed normal CNS tissues and a variety of tumors of the brain. All measurements were made at 20 MHz and 37 degrees C. Between grey and white matter from autopsy human or canine specimens significant differences in T1 or T2 were observed, with greater differences seen in T1. Such discrimination was reduced in samples obtained from live brain-tumor patients due to lengthening in T1 and T2 of white matter near tumorous lesions. Edematous white matter showed T1 and T2 values higher than those of autopsy disease-free white matter. Compared to normal CNS tissues, most brain tumors examined in this study demonstrated elevated T1 and T2 values. Exceptions, however, did exist. No definitive correlation was indicated on a T1 or T2 basis which allowed a distinction to be made between benign and malignant states. Furthermore, considerable variation in relaxation times occurred from tumor to tumor of the same type, suggesting that within a tumor type there are important differences in physiology, biology, and/or pathologic state. Such variation caused partial overlap in relaxation times among certain tumor types and hence may limit the capability of magnetic resonance imaging (MR) alone for the diagnosis of specific disease. Nonetheless, this study predicts that on the basis of T1 or T2 differences most brain tumors are readily detectable by MR via saturation recovery or inversion recovery with appropriate selections of pulse-spacing parameters. In general, tumors can be discriminated against white matter better than grey matter and contrast between glioma and grey matter is usually superior to that between meningioma and grey matter. This work did not consider tissue-associated proton density which should be addressed together with T1 and T2 for a complete treatment of MR contrast.  相似文献

A probe using a solenoid coil tilted 45 degrees off-axis has been used to study the 31P NMR relaxation characteristics of the resonances arising from phosphorus metabolites in rats in vivo. T1, T1 rho and T2 values have been determined for phosphocreatine and ATP in leg muscle. The ratio of 31P T1(1700ms) to T2(12ms) for ATP was in excess of 200:1 compared with a ratio of 5:1 for 1H T1:T2. Of major significance was the observation that T2 values for phosphocreatine (230ms) were markedly longer than T2 values for ATP (12ms). Thus by use of appropriate delay times in spin echo sequences ATP signals can be nulled, and discrete 31P imaging of phosphocreatine in muscle may be possible provided the overall signal-to-noise is satisfactory.  相似文献

根据经典 Bloch方程的解析解以及考虑辐射阻尼效应的Bloch方程的数值解,通过解析分析和数值模拟,从理论上研究了在射频场扰动下以及在辐射阻尼效应的作用下纵向弛豫对核磁共振线型的影响.结果表明:①射频场的扰动和辐射阻尼效应将导致纵向磁化与横向磁化的耦合,从而使纵向弛豫对线型产生了一定的影响.②在射频场的扰动下,峰强和线宽分别为2M0sin(θ)T1T2/(T1+T2)和(T1+T2)/(2πT1T2),即纵向弛豫将使谱线的峰强增大、线宽变窄,且影响程度随着比值T2/T1的减小而增大,峰强最大可增加1倍而线宽最多可减小1/2.③在强辐射阻尼效应的作用下,纵向弛豫会使谱线的峰强降低,降低的幅度与扳转角θ以及比值T2/T1密切相关.当θ从0到3π/4时,降低的幅度均较小,只有当θ>3π/4时,降低的幅度才开始逐渐变大,且当 θ接近π时,降低的幅度急剧增大.谱线峰强降低的幅度与T2/T1呈较严格的正比关系,即T1越接近T2,峰强下降得越显著.  相似文献

We report on novel antiferromagnetic (AFM) and superconducting (SC) properties of noncentrosymmetric CePt3Si through measurements of the 195Pt nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate 1/T(1). In the normal state, the temperature (T) dependence of 1/T(1) unraveled the existence of low-lying levels in crystal-electric-field multiplets and the formation of a heavy-fermion (HF) state. The coexistence of AFM and SC phases that emerge at T(N)=2.2 K and T(c)=0.75 K, respectively, takes place on a microscopic level. CePt3Si is the first HF superconductor that reveals a peak in 1/T(1) just below T(c) and, additionally, does not follow the T3 law that used to be reported for most unconventional HF superconductors. We remark that this unexpected SC characteristic may be related to the lack of an inversion center in its crystal structure.  相似文献

The eigenstates tunneling theory leads to some unexpected results for the temperature dependence of the conductance G(T). While G(T) sometimes obeys the usual Mott variable range hopping law, it may sometimes be metallic or even non-monotonic. Thus G(T) for a set of quasi-one-dimensional samples connected in parallel should be T independent. The Carr-Purcell pulse sequence, with low refocusing flip angle, produces echoes midway between refocusing pulses that decay to a minimum value dependent on T(2). In MR images of porous organic samples (such as roots or wood) in water media, the sample is often surrounded by a bright ring, with a corresponding decreased T1 value in T1 maps. When the medium is removed, or contrast agents are added, the ring disappears, indicating that the signal does not originate in the outer layers of the sample, but from the medium itself. It can be shown that this "bright ring effect" is only observed when the medium experiences a reduction in T1 when permeating the sample. In order to investigate this effect, a computer model was used to simulate the diffusion of magnetisation between regions that exhibit different relaxation constants. Using this model, the origin of the signal increase was found to be an inflow effect, as diffusion transports relaxed magnetisation from the boundary regions of the sample into the surrounding medium. In the case of the "bright ring" around the plants described above, a mixing of short T1 values from within the sample and long T1 values within the medium occurs, yielding a "transition region" between the two values. There, a signal increase can be observed at T1 weighted images, compared to the signal from the medium beyond this transition region. The width of the transition region is on the order of magnitude of the diffusion displacement that is calculated from the T1 value as diffusion time. In addition to causing the bright ring around the plant samples, this diffusion effect also limits the resolution of the relaxation time maps. This effect is not limited to T1 relaxation but also applies to T2 relaxation. However, at high B0 field strengths such as those used in this study (11.7 T), a T2 effect is not usually observed due to the considerably shorter T2 times in plants (about 50 ms, compared to T1 times of higher than 1 s). Because the diffusion length during this T2 relaxation is short with respect to the resolution of the imaging experiments, no T2 ring effect is seen.  相似文献

Calculating the energy absorption of atomic clusters as a function of the laser pulse length T we find a maximum for a critical T(*). We show that T(*) can be linked to an optimal cluster radius R(*). The existence of this radius can be attributed to the enhanced ionization mechanism originally discovered for diatomic molecules. Our findings indicate that enhanced ionization should be operative for a wide class of rare-gas clusters. From a simple Coulomb-explosion ansatz, we derive an analytical expression relating the maximum energy release to a suitably scaled expansion time which can be expressed with the pulse length T(*).  相似文献

The nature of quantum criticality in CeCoIn5 is studied by low-temperature thermal expansion alpha(T). At the field-induced quantum critical point at H = 5 T a crossover scale T* approximately 0.3 K is observed, separating alpha(T)/T proportional, variant T(-1) from a weaker T(-1/2) divergence. We ascribe this change to a crossover in the dimensionality of the critical fluctuations which may be coupled to a change from unconventional to conventional quantum criticality. Disorder, whose effect on quantum criticality is studied in CeCoIn(5-x)Sn(x) (0 < or = x < or = 0.18), shifts T* towards higher temperatures.  相似文献

Artificial virus-like envelopes (AVEs) are liposomal carriers that may be useful for target-site-specific delivery of contrast agents. We speculated that T(1) relaxation times of a suspension of Gadolinium-filled AVEs might be shortened after internalization and lysosomal breakdown. To test this hypothesis we evaluated the T(1) relaxation times of Gadobutrol-containing AVEs before and after degradation in vitro and after receptor-mediated cellular uptake. AVEs were filled with 1 M Gadobutrol (Gadovist; Schering AG, Berlin, Germany) yielding Gd-chelate-AVEs. T(1)-relaxation times were calculated using an inversion recovery technique for different concentrations of the liposomal suspension. AVEs were degraded in vitro to mimic the release of the encapsulated Gadolinium in cells and to determine a putative increase of the T(1)-effect. Finally, Gd-chelate-AVEs where equipped with integrin-binding RGD ligands and the T1 relaxation times of these Gd-chelate-RDG-AVEs were determined after cellular uptake into endothelial or melanoma cells. Gadobutrol could be encapsulated into AVEs at a high concentration of 1 M (Gd-chelate-AVEs). The Gd-chelate-AVEs could be visualized by MRI. Concentrations down to 1:4 x 10(3) showed a significant T(1)-shortening effect. The degradation of the liposomes with Triton X-100 resulted in a further reduction down to concentrations of 1:10 x 10(3). In addition, cellular uptakes of Gd-chelate-RGD-AVEs also lead to a significant T(1)-shortening. Our study shows that Gadolinium can be efficiently encapsulated into AVEs and that Gd-chelate-AVEs can be detected by MRI T(1)-weighted measurements. The MRI detectability is enhanced by degradation. Gd-chelate-RGD-AVEs can be used to enhance the Gd uptake in cells expressing the alpha(v)beta(3) receptor.  相似文献

It is shown that thermally polarized 3He gas can be used to measure important physical parameters and to design, test, and tune imaging sequences. The bulk values of T1, T2, and the diffusion coefficient were measured in a glass cell containing a mixture of helium-3 (0.8 bar) and oxygen (0.2 bar). They were found to be T1 = 7 s, T2 = 2.4 s, and D = 1.6 cm2 s(-1). The relaxation times T2* and T1 and the apparent diffusion coefficient of thermally polarized helium-3 gas were measured in the rat lung, and these parameters were used to design a helium-3 optimized multi-spin-echo sequence which was shown to increase the signal-to-noise ratio sufficiently to obtain the first NMR-images of thermally polarized helium-3 in the rat lung.  相似文献

The purpose of this study is to report the significant differences found in the identification of lesions in cervical spinal cord of two patients with multiple sclerosis when using the BLADE T2-TSE and BLADE T2-TIRM sequences as opposed to the conventional T2-TSE and T2-TIRM sequences for sagittal acquisition at 1.5 T. In both patients, one more lesion was identified with the BLADE sequences than with the conventional ones. Consequently, we suggest the use of BLADE T2-TSE and BLADE T2-TIRM sequences in place of conventional ones for sagittal examination of the cervical spinal cord of multiple sclerosis patients. The advantages of ΤΙRΜ to reveal the pathology of the cervical spinal cord and the advantage of BLADE sequences to improve image quality should be combined in a sequence that could be ideal for cervical spinal cord examinations.  相似文献

Relaxation time measurements were carried out during the preacute stage of lesion progression in an animal model of demyelination created in the internal capsule (ic) area of the rat brain using lysophosphatidyl choline (LPC). T1 and T2 were determined both before and after 36 h of lesion creation. Histology carried out on the rats after MR measurements showed focal demyelinating lesion and surrounding edema with prominent infiltration of inflammatory cells. Both T1 and T2 were statistically higher for the lesion compared to that determined before lesion creation. Percentage increase in T2 was found to be higher by approximately 45% compared to before lesion creation while T1 showed about 25% increase. Increase in T1 and T2 may be attributed to the early acute inflammatory response due to LPC. The beginning of the inflammatory response following LPC injection may also be a contributing factor. The study demonstrates that the quantitative estimate of MR relaxation provides useful information on the pathological events occurring during the early phase of the progression of demyelination.  相似文献

For samples with T1s longer than 10s, calibration of the RF probe and a measurement of T1 can be very time-consuming. A technique is proposed for use in imaging applications where one wishes to rapidly obtain information about the RF flip angle and sample T1 prior to imaging. The flip angle measurement time is less than 1s for a single scan. Prior knowledge of the RF flip angle is not required for the measurement of T1. The resulting time savings in measuring the values of flip angle and T1 are particularly significant in the case of samples with very long T1 and short T2*. An imaging extension of the technique provides RF flip angle mapping without the need for incrementing the pulse duration, i.e., RF mapping can be performed at fixed RF amplifier output.  相似文献
