为了研究史密斯-帕塞尔自由电子激光的输出频率和光栅槽深、光栅槽长、光栅槽宽的关系,对于基于矩形光栅的史密斯-帕塞尔自由电子激光利用粒子模拟软件进行模拟和理论分析。首先,利用粒子模拟软件模拟对于基于矩形光栅的史密斯-帕塞尔自由电子激光进行了研究,发现史密斯-帕塞尔自由电子激光的输出频率随光栅槽深、光栅槽长、光栅槽宽的增大而减少。接着,对史密斯-帕塞尔自由电子激光的光栅槽进行了理论分析,发现每个光栅槽都可以等效为一个LC谐振电路,并发现在史密斯-帕塞尔自由电子激光中存在两种辐射,一种是史密斯-帕塞尔辐射,另一种是LC振荡辐射。最后,对光栅槽的LC振荡辐射进行了估算,发现史密斯-帕塞尔自由电子激光输出频率的模拟值与光栅槽的LC振荡辐射估算值的数量级均为102 GHz,且变化规律上一致。据此推测决定史密斯-帕塞尔自由电子激光输出频率的应该是光栅槽,而不是谐振腔。 相似文献

We propose a scheme of particle accelerators driven by far-infrared free-electron lasers on the basis of oversized periodically or helically corrugated hollow waveguides with cooled walls of high-Tc superconductors. In this context, we discuss the basic principles of particle acceleration in periodic and helical hollow waveguides, the relevant modes and fields of these waveguides, attenuation and damage threshold in the waveguides assuming walls made of standard metals as well as high-Tc superconductors, and the energy gain of particles for two modes of coupling laser radiation into the waveguides. 相似文献

In this paper, a high power Nd:YAG laser system is described, which consists of an actively-passively mode-locked Nd:YAG laser oscillator with variable subnanosecond pulsewidths (200 ps to 1 ns), a Pockels-cell shutter and a coaxial four-pass Nd:YAG amplifier. With the oscillator operating in the colliding pulse regime, and a BDN dye film as the saturable absorber, and an acousto-optic modulator as the active modelocker, we have achieved a shot-to-shot stability of the pulse-train amplitude < ±4%. For a 0.1 mJ, 200 ps laser pulse, we obtained four-pass amplification of 7 × 102 with a pump energy of 106 J. 相似文献

Resonance enhanced stimulated Raman scattering of a tunable laser was observed in the 60–160 μm range for the Q(J) transitions in hydrogen chloride. The resultant far-infrared source was tunable over about 2.3 cm−1 around each transition studied (J = 2 to 7) and gave a peak power around 80 kW corresponding to a photon efficiency of the order of 12%. 相似文献

Peking University is developing a 1.3 GHz superconducting accelerating section highpower THz freeelectron laser for the China Academy of Engineering Physics(CAEP). A compact fast/slow tuner has been developed by the Institute of High Energy Physics(IHEP) for the accelerating section to control Lorentz detuning, compensate for beam loading effect, microphonics and liquid helium pressure fluctuations. A compact ultrafast terahertz (CUTE) free-electron laser (FEL) is being developed at the Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced
Technology (RRCAT), Indore. The undulator required for the CUTE-FEL has recently been developed. We have designed, built and
characterized a variable gap, 5 cm period, 2.5 m long pure permanent magnet undulator in two identical segments. The tolerable
error in the magnetic field was 1% in rms, and we have measured it to be 0.7%. The obtained rms phase shake is around 2°.
To ensure that the trajectories do not have an exit error in position or angle, corrector coils have been designed. Shimming
coils have been applied for both the undulator segments to reduce the amplitude of the betatron oscillations in the vertical
trajectory. Details of novel corrector coils and soft iron shims are given and their performance is discussed.

We synthesized tunable far-infrared radiation at frequencies higher than 9 THz (300 cm (-1)) by mixing CO(2) laser, (15)NH(3) laser, and microwave radiation in a W-Co metal-insulator-metal diode. Analysis is made of a free-electron laser with many optical cavities where the cavities communicate with each other, not optically, but through the electron beam. Analytic analysis is made in a one-dimensional, linear approximation. A general expression is given for the growth rate in the exponential (high current) regime. In the regime where lethargy is important expressions are given in the two opposite limits of small and large numbers of cavities and bunches. Numerical simulation results, still in the one-dimensional approximation, but including nonlinearities, are presented. A high-power, twin-frequency, optically-pumped, far-infrared (FIR) laser has been developed at UCLA for diagnostic application on the TEXT tokamak. The source is operated at 245 GHz (=1.22 mm) for heterodyne scattering measurements and 694 GHz (=432 m) for high resolution interferometry. Starting from basic concepts, we propose a new kind of free-electron laser (FEL): the pump-free crossed-field FEL in which the condition Eo+Vo×Bo=0 is not satisfied, and the electron orbit without radition fields and undulator or wiggler fields is not straight line (in planar configuration) or cycloid (in magnetron-like configuration). This paper presents a fluid dynamical analysis of the pump-free crossed-field FEL, in which the space charge effect is not taken into consideration. FEL instability is found near resonance
