This paper has a two-fold purpose. Let 1<p<∞. We first introduce the p-operator space injective tensor product and study various properties related to this tensor product, including the p-operator space approximation property, for p-operator spaces on Lp-spaces. We then apply these properties to the study of the pseudofunction algebra PFp(G), the pseudomeasure algebra PMp(G), and the Figà-Talamanca-Herz algebra Ap(G) of a locally compact group G. We show that if G is a discrete group, then most of approximation properties for the reduced group C∗-algebra , the group von Neumann algebra VN(G), and the Fourier algebra A(G) (related to amenability, weak amenability, and approximation property of G) have the natural p-analogues for PFp(G), PMp(G), and Ap(G), respectively. The p-completely bounded multiplier algebra McbAp(G) plays an important role in this work. 相似文献

We study n-monotone functionals, which constitute a generalisation of n-monotone set functions. We investigate their relation to the concepts of exactness and natural extension, which generalise coherence and natural extension in the behavioural theory of imprecise probabilities. We improve upon a number of results in the literature, and prove among other things a representation result for exact n-monotone functionals in terms of Choquet integrals. 相似文献

This paper deals with n-monotone functionals, which constitute a generalisation of n-monotone set functions. Using the notion of exactness of a functional, we introduce a new notion of lower and upper integral which subsumes as particular cases most of the approaches to integration in the literature. As a consequence, we can characterise which types of integrals can be used to calculate the natural extension (the lower envelope of all linear extensions) of a positive bounded charge. 相似文献

A result of B.B. Wells Jr. claims that every complex valued continuous function on the compact ring of p-adic integers has a rearrangement which belongs to a certain class (W) of functions having absolutely convergent Fourier series. We point out that this is not the case since every real valued function from (W) has Lebesgue null range. On the other hand we prove the existence of a rearrangement with absolutely convergent Fourier series for every continuous real valued function on and on some other compact metric totally disconnected Abelian groups. Let K be a spherically complete non-archimedean valued field. We prove that the dual space l∞ of the Banach space c0 has a total strongly non-norming subspace M. Using this subspace M we construct a non-normable Fréchet space F of countable type with a continuous norm such that its strong dual is a strict LB-space. Area integral functions are introduced for sectorial operators on Lp-spaces. We establish the equivalence between the square and area integral functions for sectorial operators on Lp spaces. This follows that the results of Cowling, Doust, McIntosh, Yagi, and Le Merdy on Hinfin functional calculus of sectorial operators on Lp-spaces hold true when the square functions are replaced by the area integral functions. 相似文献

If a parameter is contained in a hyperbolic semi-linear equation, then the solution to the equation will depend on the parameter. Solving large-scale p-median problems is usually time consuming. People often aggregate the demand points in a large-scale p-median problem to reduce its problem size and make it easier to solve. Most traditional research on demand point aggregation is either experimental or assuming uniformly distributed demand points in analytical studies. In this paper, we study demand point aggregation for planar p-median problem when demand points are arbitrarily distributed. Efficient demand aggregation approaches are proposed with the corresponding attainable worst-case aggregation error bounds measured. We demonstrate that these demand aggregation approaches introduce smaller worst-case aggregation error bounds than that of the honeycomb heuristic [Papadimitriou, C.H., 1981. Worst-case and probabilistic analysis of a geometric location problem. SIAM Journal on Computing 10, 542–557] when demand points are arbitrarily distributed. The little Grothendieck theorem for Banach spaces says that every bounded linear operator between C(K) and ?2 is 2-summing. However, it is shown in [M. Junge, Embedding of the operator space OH and the logarithmic ‘little Grothendieck inequality’, Invent. Math. 161 (2) (2005) 225-286] that the operator space analogue fails. Not every cb-map is completely 2-summing. Buchwalter and Schmets reconciled Cc(X) and Cp(X) spaces with most of the weak barrelledness conditions of 1973, but could not determine if -barrelled ⇔ ?∞-barrelled for Cc(X). The areas grew apart. Full reconciliation with the fourteen conditions adopted by Saxon and Sánchez Ruiz needs their 1997 characterization of Ruess' property (L), which allows us to reduce the Cc(X) problem to its 1973 status and solve it by carefully translating the topology of Kunen (1980) and van Mill (1982) to find the example that eluded Buchwalter and Schmets. The more tractable Cp(X) readily partitions the conditions into just two equivalence classes, the same as for metrizable locally convex spaces, instead of the five required for Cc(X) spaces. Our paper elicits others, soon to appear, that analytically characterize when the Tychonov space X is pseudocompact, or Warner bounded, or when Cc(X) is a df-space (Jarchow's 1981 question). 相似文献

We generalize the surjectivity result of the p-adic monodromy for the ordinary locus of a Siegel moduli space by Faltings and Chai (independently by Ekedahl) to that for any p-rank stratum. We discuss irreducibility and connectedness of some p-rank strata of the moduli spaces with parahoric level structure. One major open problem in geometric topology is the Hilbert-Smith conjecture. A natural approach to this conjecture is to work on classifying spaces of p-adic integers. However, the well-known Milnor's construction of classifying space of p-adic integers is not locally connected, hence will not help to solve the conjecture, and the other known constructions are very complex. In this paper, several distributional properties and characterization theorems of the generalized multivariate Pareto distributions are studied. It is found that the multivariate Pareto distributions have many mixture properties. They are mixed either by geometric, Weibull, or exponential variables. The multivariate Pareto, MP(k)(I), MP(k)(II), and MP(k)(IV) families have closure property under finite sample minima. The MP(k)(III) family is closed under both geometric minima and geometric maxima. Through the geometric minima procedure, one characterization theorem for MP(k)(III) distribution is developed. Moreover, the MP(k)(III) distribution is proved as the limit multivariate distribution under repeated geometric minimization. Also, a characterization theorem for the homogeneous MP(k)(IV) distribution via the weighted minima among the ordered coordinates is developed. Finally, the MP(k)(II) family is shown to have the truncation invariant property. 相似文献

In this paper we discuss some continuous dependency between a C0-semigroup and its parameter. We first get the following results: if the infinitesimal generator of a C0-semigroup is continuous in the generalized sense, strongly (or weakly) Fréchet continuously differentiable, or strongly (or weakly) Gâteaux continuously differentiable with respect to the parameter, respectively, so is the corresponding C0-semigroup. We then obtain corresponding expressions for the differential operators. Finally, the obtained results are applied to a mixed initial-boundary value problem of a semi-linear parabolic equation, and it is proved that the solution of the equation is Fréchet continuously differentiable with respect to the leading variable coefficient of the equation. 相似文献
