For diagnosing dyslexia in early childhood, children have to solve non-writing based graphical tests. Human experts score these tests, and decide whether the children require further consideration on the basis of their marks.Applying artificial intelligence techniques for automating this scoring is a complex task with multiple sources of uncertainty. On the one hand, there are conflicts, as different experts can assign different scores to the same set of answers. On the other hand, sometimes the experts are not completely confident with their decisions and doubt between different scores. The problem is aggravated because certain symptoms are compatible with more than one disorder. In case of doubt, the experts assign an interval-valued score to the test and ask for further information about the child before diagnosing him.Having said that, exploiting the information in uncertain datasets has been recently acknowledged as a new challenge in genetic fuzzy systems. In this paper we propose using a genetic cooperative-competitive algorithm for designing a linguistically understandable, rule-based classifier that can tackle this problem. This algorithm is part of a web-based, automated pre-screening application that can be used by the parents for detecting those symptoms that advise taking the children to a psychologist for an individual examination. 相似文献

A learning process for fuzzy control rules using genetic algorithms 总被引:10,自引:0,他引:10
The purpose of this paper is to present a genetic learning process for learning fuzzy control rules from examples. It is developed in three stages: the first one is a fuzzy rule genetic generating process based on a rule learning iterative approach, the second one combines two kinds of rules, experts rules if there are and the previously generated fuzzy control rules, removing the redundant fuzzy rules, and the thrid one is a tuning process for adjusting the membership functions of the fuzzy rules. The three components of the learning process are developed formulating suitable genetic algorithms. 相似文献

The supervised classification of fuzzy data obtained from a random experiment is discussed. The data generation process is modelled through random fuzzy sets which, from a formal point of view, can be identified with certain function-valued random elements. First, one of the most versatile discriminant approaches in the context of functional data analysis is adapted to the specific case of interest. In this way, discriminant analysis based on nonparametric kernel density estimation is discussed. In general, this criterion is shown not to be optimal and to require large sample sizes. To avoid such inconveniences, a simpler approach which eludes the density estimation by considering conditional probabilities on certain balls is introduced. The approaches are applied to two experiments; one concerning fuzzy perceptions and linguistic labels and another one concerning flood analysis. The methods are tested against linear discriminant analysis and random K-fold cross validation. 相似文献

The need for trading off interpretability and accuracy is intrinsic to the use of fuzzy systems. The obtaining of accurate but also human-comprehensible fuzzy systems played a key role in Zadeh and Mamdani’s seminal ideas and system identification methodologies. Nevertheless, before the advent of soft computing, accuracy progressively became the main concern of fuzzy model builders, making the resulting fuzzy systems get closer to black-box models such as neural networks. Fortunately, the fuzzy modeling scientific community has come back to its origins by considering design techniques dealing with the interpretability-accuracy tradeoff. In particular, the use of genetic fuzzy systems has been widely extended thanks to their inherent flexibility and their capability to jointly consider different optimization criteria. The current contribution constitutes a review on the most representative genetic fuzzy systems relying on Mamdani-type fuzzy rule-based systems to obtain interpretable linguistic fuzzy models with a good accuracy. 相似文献

Fuzzy data given by expert knowledge can be regarded as a possibility distribution by which possibilistic linear systems are defined. Recently, it has become important to deal with fuzzy data in connection with expert knowledge. Three formulations of possibilistic linear regression analysis are proposed here to deal with fuzzy data. Since our formulations can be reduced to linear programming problems, the merit of our formulations is to be able to obtain easily fuzzy parameters in possibilistic linear models and to add other constraint conditions which might be obtained from expert knowledge of fuzzy parameters. This approach can be regarded as a fuzzy interval analysis in a fuzzy environment. 相似文献

This paper presents a new procedure that extends genetic algorithms from their traditional domain of optimization to fuzzy ranking strategy for selecting efficient portfolios of restricted cardinality. The uncertainty of the returns on a given portfolio is modeled using fuzzy quantities and a downside risk function is used to describe the investor's aversion to risk. The fitness functions are based both on the value and the ambiguity of the trapezoidal fuzzy number which represents the uncertainty on the return. The soft-computing approach allows us to consider uncertainty and vagueness in databases and also to incorporate subjective characteristics into the portfolio selection problem. We use a data set from the Spanish stock market to illustrate the performance of our approach to the portfolio selection problem. 相似文献

Real-life data associated with experimental outcomes are not always real-valued. In particular, opinions, perceptions, ratings, etc., are often assumed to be vague in nature, especially when they come from human valuations. Fuzzy numbers have extensively been considered to provide us with a convenient tool to express these vague data. In analyzing fuzzy data from a statistical perspective one finds two key obstacles, namely, the nonlinearity associated with the usual arithmetic with fuzzy data and the lack of suitable models and limit results for the distribution of fuzzy-valued statistics. These obstacles can be frequently bypassed by using an appropriate metric between fuzzy data, the notion of random fuzzy set and a bootstrapped central limit theorem for general space-valued random elements. This paper aims to review these ideas and a methodology for the statistical analysis of fuzzy number data which has been developed along the last years. 相似文献

Location of fire stations is an important factor in its fire protection capability. This paper aims to determine the optimal location of fire station facilities. The proposed method is the combination of a fuzzy multi-objective programming and a genetic algorithm. The original fuzzy multiple objectives are appropriately converted to a single unified ‘min–max’ goal, which makes it easy to apply a genetic algorithm for the problem solving. Compared with the existing methods of fire station location our approach has three distinguish features: (1) considering fuzzy nature of a decision maker (DM) in the location optimization model; (2) fully considering the demands for the facilities from the areas with various fire risk categories; (3) being more understandable and practical to DM. The case study was based on the data collected from the Derbyshire fire and rescue service and used to illustrate the application of the method for the optimization of fire station locations. 相似文献

Interpretability is one of the key concepts in many of the applications using the fuzzy rule-based approach. It is well known that there are many different criteria around this concept, the complexity being one of them. In this paper, we focus our efforts in reducing the complexity of the fuzzy rule sets. One of the most interesting approaches for learning fuzzy rules is the iterative rule learning approach. It is mainly characterized by obtaining rules covering few examples in final stages, being in most cases useless to represent the knowledge. This behavior is due to the specificity of the extracted rules, which eventually creates more complex set of rules. Thus, we propose a modified version of the iterative rule learning algorithm in order to extract simple rules relaxing this natural trend. The main idea is to change the rule extraction process to be able to obtain more general rules, using pruned searching spaces together with a knowledge simplification scheme able to replace learned rules. The experimental results prove that this purpose is achieved. The new proposal reduces the complexity at both, the rule and rule base levels, maintaining the accuracy regarding to previous versions of the algorithm. 相似文献

The infiltration process is generally described by a nonlinear differential equation, which can be solved by iteration methods such as a Newton-Raphson method. In this paper we propose a Discrete Event System Specification (DEVS) model for Green-Ampt infiltration. We show that this model can be approximated using Genetic Algorithm optimization of a fuzzy system. The fuzzy approximation is shown to be more accurate than the Taylor series approximation recently proposed. 相似文献

In apparel industry, manufacturers developed standard allowed minutes (SAMs) databases on various manufacturing operations in order to facilitate better scheduling, while effective production schedules ensure smoothness of downstream operations. As apparel manufacturing environment is fuzzy and dynamic, rigid production schedules based on SAMs become futile in the presence of any uncertainty. In this paper, a fuzzification scheme is proposed to fuzzify the static standard time so as to incorporate some uncertainties, in terms of both job-specific and human related factors, into the fabric-cutting scheduling problem. A genetic optimisation procedure is also proposed to search for fault-tolerant schedules using genetic algorithms, such that makespan and scheduling uncertainties are minimised. Two sets of real production data were collected to validate the proposed method. Experimental results indicate that the genetically optimised fault-tolerant schedules not only improve the operation performance but also minimise the scheduling risks. 相似文献

A biplot, which is the multivariate generalization of the two-variable scatterplot, can be used to visualize the results of many multivariate techniques, especially those that are based on the singular value decomposition. We consider data sets consisting of continuous-scale measurements, their fuzzy coding and the biplots that visualize them, using a fuzzy version of multiple correspondence analysis. Of special interest is the way quality of fit of the biplot is measured, since it is well known that regular (i.e., crisp) multiple correspondence analysis seriously under-estimates this measure. We show how the results of fuzzy multiple correspondence analysis can be defuzzified to obtain estimated values of the original data, and prove that this implies an orthogonal decomposition of variance. This permits a measure-of-fit to be calculated in the familiar form of a percentage of explained variance, which is directly comparable to the corresponding fit measure used in principal component analysis of the original data. The approach is motivated initially by its application to a simulated data set, showing how the fuzzy approach can lead to diagnosing nonlinear relationships, and finally it is applied to a real set of meteorological data. 相似文献

Summary In this paper a robust fuzzy k-means clustering model for interval valued data is introduced. The peculiarity of the proposed model is the capability to
manage anomalous interval valued data by reducing the effects of such outliers in the clustering model. In the interval case,
the concept of anomalous data involves both the center and the width (the radius) of an interval. In order to show how our
model works the results of a simulation experiment and an application to real interval valued data are discussed. 相似文献

A structure for representing inexact information in the form of a relational database is presented. The structure differs from ordinary relational databases in two important respects: Components of tuples need not be single values and a similarity relation is required for each domain set of the database. Two critical properties possessed by ordinary relational databases are proven to exist in the fuzzy relational structure. These properties are (1) no two tuples have identical interpretations, and (2) each relational operation has a unique result. 相似文献

In the real world of production, there are some uncertain parameters such as capacity, profit, and processing time. On the other hand, the fuzzy sets theory is applied as a suitable tool for managing production where dynamicity of the production environment prevents from determining target function, constraints and other parameters of the model. In this paper, a genetic algorithm embedded in fuzzy revised theory of constraints is presented for product mix problems. Results of implementing the proposed algorithm show efficiency and flexibility of this algorithm. 相似文献

Identification of fuzzy relation models using hierarchical fair competition-based parallel genetic algorithms and information granulation 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The paper is concerned with a hybrid optimization of fuzzy inference systems based on hierarchical fair competition-based parallel genetic algorithms (HFCGA) and information granulation. The process of information granulation is realized with the aid of the C-Means clustering. HFCGA being a multi-population based parallel genetic algorithms (PGA) is exploited here to realize structure optimization and carry out parameter estimation of the fuzzy models. The HFCGA becomes helpful in the context of fuzzy models as it restricts a premature convergence encountered quite often in optimization problems. It concerns a set of parameters of the model including among others the number of input variables to be used, a specific subset of input variables, and the number of membership functions. In the hybrid optimization process, two general optimization mechanisms are explored. The structural development of the fuzzy model is realized via the HFCGA optimization and C-Means, whereas to deal with the parametric optimization we proceed with a standard least square method and the use of the HFCGA technique. A suite of comparative studies demonstrates that the proposed algorithm leads to the models whose performance is superior in comparison with some other constructs commonly used in fuzzy modeling. 相似文献

Time series are built as a result of real-valued observations ordered in time; however, in some cases, the values of the observed variables change significantly, and those changes do not produce useful information. Therefore, within defined periods of time, only those bounds in which the variables change are considered. The temporal sequence of vectors with the interval-valued elements is called a ‘multivariate interval-valued time series.’ In this paper, the problem of forecasting such data is addressed. It is proposed to use fuzzy grey cognitive maps (FGCMs) as a nonlinear predictive model. Using interval arithmetic, an evolutionary algorithm for learning FGCMs is developed, and it is shown how the new algorithm can be applied to learn FGCMs on the basis of historical time series data. Experiments with real meteorological data provided evidence that, for properly-adjusted learning and prediction horizons, the proposed approach can be used effectively to the forecasting of multivariate, interval-valued time series. The domain-specific interpretability of the FGCM-based model that was obtained also is confirmed. 相似文献

This paper puts forward an integrated fuzzy simulation-fuzzy data envelopment analysis (FSFDEA) algorithm to cope with a special case of single-row facility layout problem (SRFLP). Discrete-event-simulation, a powerful tool for analyzing complex and stochastic systems, is employed for modeling different layout formations. Afterwards, a range-adjusted measure (RAM) is used as a data envelopment analysis (DEA) model for ranking the simulation results and finding the optimal layout design. Due to ambiguousness associated with the processing times, fuzzy sets theory is incorporated into the simulation model. Since the results of simulation are in the form of possibility distributions, the DEA model is treated on a fuzzy basis; therefore, a recent possibilistic programming approach is used to convert the fuzzy DEA model to an equivalent crisp one. The proposed FSFDEA algorithm is capable of modeling and optimizing small-sized SRFLP’s in stochastic, uncertain, and non-linear environments. The solution quality is inspected through a real case study in a refrigerator manufacturing company. 相似文献
