This work presents an approximation method for Navier-Stokes equations around a rotating obstacle. The detail of this method is that the exterior domain is truncated into a bounded domain and a new exterior domain by introducing a large ball. The approximation problem is composed of the nonlinear problem in the bounded domain and the linear problem in the new exterior domain. We derive the approximation error between the solutions of Navier-Stokes equations and the approximation problem.  相似文献

The nonlinear Galerkin methods are numerical schemes for evolutionary partial differential equations based on the theory of inertial manifolds and approximate inertial manifolds. In this paper, we consider the flow between two concentric rotating spheres, and combine the Legendre-Galerkin spectral methods in Part I together with the nonlinear Galerkin method, then construct the full discrete nonlinear Legendre-Galerkin spectral scheme, and derive the stability conditions and its error estimate.  相似文献

Axisymmetric or non-axisymmetric Burgers vortices have been studied numerically as a model of concentrated vorticity fields. Recently it has been rigorously proved that non-axisymmetric Burgers vortices exist for all values of the vortex Reynolds number if an asymmetry parameter is sufficiently small. On the other hand, several numerical results indicate that Burgers vortices have simpler structures as the vortex Reynolds number is increasing, even when the asymmetry parameter is not sufficiently small. In this paper we give a rigorous explanation for this numerical observation and extend the existence and stability results of Burgers vortices for high vortex Reynolds numbers.  相似文献

The limit of the vanishing Debye length (the charge neutral limit) in a nonlinear bipolar drift-diffusion model for semiconductors without a pn-junction (i.e., with a unipolar background charge) is studied. In order to simulate the nonlinear behaviour of elastomer composite materials, we use a homogenization technique which induces nonlinear problems. This paper presents a non-incremental solving method which allows the reduction of computational costs. In this paper the equivalence between the proposed solving method and a Newton-type method is proved, which allows us to prove the convergence under realistic assumptions. In this paper, we investigate some new properties of the incompressible Euler and Navier-Stokes equations by studying a 3D model for axisymmetric 3D incompressible Euler and Navier-Stokes equations with swirl. The 3D model is derived by reformulating the axisymmetric 3D incompressible Euler and Navier-Stokes equations and then neglecting the convection term of the resulting equations. Some properties of this 3D model are reviewed.
