A coefficient inverse problem for the non-stationary single-speed transport equation for t∈(0,T) with the lateral boundary data and initial condition at t=0 is considered. Global uniqueness result is obtained by the method of Carleman estimates.  相似文献

We prove that the material parameters in a Dirac system with magnetic and electric potentials are uniquely determined by measurements made on a possibly small subset of the boundary. The proof is based on a combination of Carleman estimates for first and second order systems, and involves a reduction of the boundary measurements to the second order case. For this reduction a certain amount of decoupling is required. To effectively make use of the decoupling, the Carleman estimates are established for coefficients which may become singular in the asymptotic limit.  相似文献

This work is a survey of results for ill-posed Cauchy problems for PDEs of the author with co-authors starting from 1991. A universal method of the regularization of these problems is presented here. Even though the idea of this method was previously discussed for specific problems, a universal approach of this paper was not discussed, at least in detail. This approach consists in constructing of such Tikhonov functionals which are generated by unbounded linear operators of those PDEs. The approach is quite general one, since it is applicable to all PDE operators for which Carleman estimates are valid. Three main types of operators of the second order are among them: elliptic, parabolic and hyperbolic ones. The key idea is that convergence rates of minimizers are established using Carleman estimates. Generalizations to nonlinear inverse problems, such as problems of reconstructions of obstacles and coefficient inverse problems are also feasible.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

In this paper, we consider an inverse problem for the simultaneous diffusion process of elastic and electromagnetic waves in an isotropic heterogeneous elastic body which is identified with an open bounded domain. From the mathematical point of view, the system under consideration can be viewed as the coupling between the hyperbolic system of elastic waves and a parabolic system for the magnetic field. We study an inverse problem of determining the external source terms by observations data in a neighborhood of the boundary and we prove the Hölder stability. For the proof, we show a Carleman estimate for the displacement and the magnetic field of the magnetoelastic system.  相似文献

In this paper, we establish a Carleman estimate for a strongly damped wave equation in order to solve a coefficient inverse problems of retrieving a stationary potential from a single time‐dependent Neumann boundary measurement on a suitable part of the boundary. This coefficient inverse problem is for a strongly damped wave equation. We prove the uniqueness and the local stability results for this inverse problem. The proof of the results relies on Carleman estimate and a certain energy estimates for hyperbolic equation with strongly damped term. Moreover, this method could be used for a similar inverse problem for an integro‐differential equation with hyperbolic memory kernel. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this article, we extensively develop Carleman estimates for the wave equation and give some applications. We focus on the case of an observation of the flux on a part of the boundary satisfying the Gamma conditions of Lions. We will then consider two applications. The first one deals with the exact controllability problem for the wave equation with potential. Following the duality method proposed by Fursikov and Imanuvilov in the context of parabolic equations, we propose a constructive method to derive controls that weakly depend on the potentials. The second application concerns an inverse problem for the waves that consists in recovering an unknown time-independent potential from a single measurement of the flux. In that context, our approach does not yield any new stability result, but proposes a constructive algorithm to rebuild the potential. In both cases, the main idea is to introduce weighted functionals that contain the Carleman weights and then to take advantage of the freedom on the Carleman parameters to limit the influences of the potentials.  相似文献

We consider the Cauchy problem for the Helmholtz equation in an arbitrary bounded planar domain with Cauchy data only on part of the boundary of the domain. We derive a Carleman-type formula for a solution to this problem and give a conditional stability estimate.  相似文献

We study the observability and some of its consequences (controllability, identification of diffusion coefficients) for one-dimensional heat equations with discontinuous coefficients (piecewise C1). The observability, for a linear equation, is obtained by a Carleman-type estimate. This kind of observability inequality yields controllability results for a semi-linear equation as well as a stability result for the identification of the diffusion coefficient.  相似文献

We consider an inverse problem of determining a viscosity coefficient in the Navier-Stokes equation by observation data in a neighborhood of the boundary. We prove the Lipschitz stability by the Carleman estimates in Sobolev spaces of negative order.  相似文献

In this article we consider an inverse boundary value problem for the time-harmonic Maxwell equations. We show that the electromagnetic material parameters are determined by boundary measurements where part of the boundary data is measured on a possibly very small set. This is an extension of earlier scalar results of Bukhgeim–Uhlmann and Kenig–Sjöstrand–Uhlmann to the Maxwell system. The main contribution is to show that the Carleman estimate approach to scalar partial data inverse problems introduced in those works can be carried over to the Maxwell system.  相似文献

By a dual method, two Carleman estimates for forward and backward stochastic parabolic equations with Neumann boundary conditions are established. Then they are used to study a null controllability problem and a state observation problem for some stochastic forward parabolic equations with Neumann boundary conditions.  相似文献

The authors prove a new Carleman estimate for general linear second order parabolic equation with nonhomogeneous boundary conditions. On the basis of this estimate, improved Carleman estimates for the Stokes system and for a system of parabolic equations with a penalty term are obtained. This system can be viewed as an approximation of the Stokes system.  相似文献

We consider anisotropic elliptic and parabolic operators in a bounded stratified media in Rn characterized by discontinuities of the coefficients in one direction. The surfaces of discontinuities cross the boundary of the domain. We prove Carleman estimates for these operators with an arbitrary observation region.  相似文献

We derive global Carleman estimates for one-dimensional linear parabolic equations t±x(cx) with a coefficient of bounded variations. These estimates are obtained by approximating c by piecewise constant coefficients, cε, and passing to the limit in the Carleman estimates associated to the operators defined with cε. Such estimates yields observability inequalities for the considered linear parabolic equation, which, in turn, yield controllability results for classes of semilinear equations.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the global stability in determination of a coefficient in the transmission wave equation from data of the solution in a subboundary over a time interval. Providing regular initial data, we prove a hölder stability estimate in the inverse problem with a single measurement. Moreover, the exponent in the stability estimate depends on the regularity of initial data.  相似文献
