This paper is a continuation of a recent work by the authors on the oscillatory properties of second-order half-linear neutral delay differential equations. Providing a new apriori bound for a nonoscillatory solution, we present a new oscillation criterion, which essentially improves the existing ones. One-dimensional perturbed neutral delay differential equations of the form (x(t)−P(t,x(tτ)))′=f(t,xt)+g(t,xt) are considered assuming that f satisfies −v(t)M(φ)?f(t,φ)?v(t)M(−φ), where M(φ)=max{0,maxs∈[−r,0]φ(s)}. A typical result is the following: if ‖g(t,φ)‖?w(t)‖φ‖ and , then the zero solution is uniformly asymptotically stable providing that the zero solution of the corresponding equation without perturbation (x(t)−P(t,x(tτ)))′=f(t,xt) is uniformly asymptotically stable. Oscillation criteria are obtained by using the so called H-method for the second order neutral type delay differential equations of the form
(r(t)ψ(x(t))z(t))+q(t)f(x(σ(t)))=0, tt0,
where z(t)=x(t)+p(t)x(τ(t)), r, p, q, τ, σ, C([t0,∞),R) and fC(R,R).

The results of the paper contains several results obtained previously as special cases. Furthermore, we are also able to fix an error in a recent paper related to the oscillation of second order nonneutral delay differential equations.  相似文献

In this paper, we give new sufficient conditions for both oscillation and nonoscillation of the delay dynamic equation where and satisfy τ(t) ≤ σ(t) for all large t and . As an important corollary, we obtain the time scale invariant integral condition for nonoscillation: for all large t. In this paper, we consider the nonlinear oscillation of the following second‐order neutral delay dynamic equations with distributed delay on a time scale , where Z(t) = x(t) + p(t)x(τ(t)),α,β > 0 are constants. We study the asymptotic behavior of a class of second order neutral delay differential equations by both a spectral projection method and an ordinary differential equation method approach. We discuss the relation of these two methods and illustrate some features using examples. Furthermore, a fixed point method is introduced as a third approach to study the asymptotic behavior. We consider a linear homogeneous system of neutral delay differential equations with a constant delay whose zero solution is asymptotically stable independent of the value of the delay, and discuss the stability of collocation-based Runge-Kutta methods for the system.
