We present some results for positive solutions of a system of nonlinear second-order difference equations, subject to multi-point boundary conditions.     

Existence of positive solutions for a system of semipositone coupled discrete boundary value problems

We study the existence of positive solutions for a system of nonlinear second-order difference equations with parameters and sign-changing nonlinearities, subject to multi-point coupled boundary conditions. In the proof of our main theorems we use the nonlinear alternative of Leray-Schauder type and the Guo-Krasnosel'skii fixed point theorem.     

Existence of positive solutions for fractional boundary value problems

In this paper, by introducing a new operator, improving and generating a p-Laplace operator for some $p > 1$, we discuss the existence and multiplicity of positive solutions to the four point boundary value problems of nonlinear fractional differential equations. Our results extend some recent works in the literature.

The methods involve novel differential inequalities and fixed-point theory to yield new theorems guaranteeing the existence of at least one solution.     

Convex solutions of boundary value problems

We establish two criteria for the existence of convex solutions for a boundary value problem arising from the study of the existence of convex radial solutions for the Monge-Ampère equations. We shall use fixed point theorems in a cone.

Existence of positive solutions for Sturm-Liouville boundary value problems on the half-line

In this paper, we establish sufficient conditions to guarantee the existence of at least one positive solution, a unique positive solution, and multiple positive solutions for the Sturm-Liouville boundary value problem on the half-line. By using an effective operator, the fixed point theorems in cone, especially Krasnoselskii fixed point theorem, can be applied to such systems and then existence criteria are established. The interesting point of the results is that the nonlinear term f can be sign-changing.     

Existence theorems for boundary value problems in difference equations

In this research, we study linear difference equations with constant coefficients subject to boundary conditions. Necessary and/or sufficient conditions for the existence of a unique solution will be established. The proofs of the existence and uniqueness theorems are established by means of special types of determinants called Mosaic Vandermonde determinants.     

Existence of solutions for anti-periodic boundary value problems

By using Schauder’s fixed point theorem and the lower and upper solutions method, we discuss the anti-periodic boundary value problem for a class of second-order differential equations. Some sufficient conditions for the existence of solutions are obtained.     

Decaying solutions for discrete boundary value problems on the half line

Some nonlocal boundary value problems, associated to a class of functional difference equations on unbounded domains, are considered by means of a new approach. Their solvability is obtained by using properties of the recessive solution to suitable half-linear difference equations, a half-linearization technique and a fixed point theorem in Frechét spaces. The result is applied to derive the existence of nonoscillatory solutions with initial and final data. Examples and open problems complete the paper.
