Complement of gradient estimates and Liouville theorems for nonlinear parabolic equations on noncompact Riemannian manifolds

In this paper, along the idea of Souplet and Zhang, we deduce a local elliptic‐type gradient estimates for positive solutions of the nonlinear parabolic equation: on for α ≥ 1 and α ≤ 0. As applications, related Liouville‐type theorem is exported. Our results are complement of known results. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.     

Global existence and nonexistence for a doubly degenerate parabolic system coupled via nonlinear boundary flux

This article deals with the degenerate parabolic system with nonlinear boundary flux. By constructing the self-similar supersolution and subsolution, we obtain the critical global existence curve and the critical Fujita curve for the problem. Especially for the blow-up case, it is rather technical. It comes from the construction of the so-called Zel’dovich-Kompaneetz-Barenblatt profile.     

Initial-irregular oblique derivative problems for nonlinear parabolic systems of second order equations with measurable coefficients

The initial-irregular oblique derivative boundary value problems for nonlinear and nondivergence parabolic systems of second order equations in multiply connected domains are dealt with where coefficients of systems of equations are meaurable. The uniqueness theorem of solutions for the above problems and somea priori estimates of solutions for the problems are given. And by using the above estimates of solutions and the Leray-Schauder theorem, the existence of solutions of the initial-boundary value problems is proved. The results are generalizations of corresponding theorems in literature. Project supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (Grant No. 19671006).

本文简要回顾非线性抛物型方程差分方法若干研究工作, 包括周毓麟先生在该研究方向取得的部分研究成果, 并对近年来相关的部分研究进展进行综述, 展望拟开展的研究工作.     

Approximation of relaxed nonlinear parabolic optimal control problems

We consider a relaxed optimal control problem for systems defined by nonlinear parabolic partial differential equations with distributed control. The problem is completely discretized by using a finite-element approximation scheme with piecewise linear states and piecewise constant controls. Existence of optimal controls and necessary conditions for optimality are derived for both the continuous and the discrete problem. We then prove that accumulation points of sequences of discrete optimal [resp. extremal] controls are optimal [resp. extremal] for the continuous problem.     

Viscosity solutions of fully nonlinear parabolic systems

In this paper, we discuss the viscosity solutions of the weakly coupled systems of fully nonlinear second-order degenerate parabolic equations and their Cauchy-Dirichlet problem. We prove the existence, uniqueness and continuity of viscosity solution by combining Perron's method with the technique of coupled solutions. The results here generalize those in Proc. London Math. Soc. 63 (1991) 212-240 and Comm. Partial Differential Equations 16 (1991) 1095-1128.     

非线性抛物方程在非线性边界条件下解的爆破时间的下界

研究了非线性抛物方程在非线性边界条件下的解的爆破问题,通过构造一个能量表达式,运用微分不等式的方法,得到该能量表达式所满足的微分不等式,然后通过积分得到当爆破发生时解在非线性边界条件下的爆破时间的下界.     

非线性超抛物型方程广义渐近解的研究

讨论了一类超抛物型方程的非线性奇摄动问题.首先引入了相应问题的比较定理,然后利用奇摄动方法构造了问题的形式渐近解,最后利用比较定理,证明了问题广义解的存在性及其渐近性态.     

A second‐order linearized difference scheme on nonuniform meshes for nonlinear parabolic systems with Neumann boundary value conditions

A linearized three‐level difference scheme on nonuniform meshes is derived by the method of the reduction of order for the Neumann boundary value problem of a nonlinear parabolic system. It is proved that the difference scheme is uniquely solvable and second‐order convergent in L_∞‐norm. A numerical example is given. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. On the Cauchy problem for a doubly nonlinear degenerate parabolic equation with strongly nonlinear sources

In this article, we consider the existence of local and global solution to the Cauchy problem of a doubly nonlinear equation. By introducing the norms |||_f||| _h and 〈f〉_h, we give the sufficient and necessary conditions on the initial value to the existence of local solution of doubly nonlinear equation. Moreover some results on the global existence and nonexistence of solutions are considered. This work was supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (Grant No. 10531020)     

一类非线性抛物型方程组解的整体存在及爆破

研究了一类带有非线性边界条件的非线性抛物型方程组解的整体存在及解在有限时刻爆破问题.通过构造方程组的上、下解.得到了解整体存在及解在有限时刻爆破的充分条件.对指数型反应项和边界流采用了常微分方程方法构造其上下解,而其它例如第一特征值等方法运用于该方程就比较困难.     

Convergence of singular limits for multi-D semilinear hyperbolic systems to parabolic systems

In this paper we investigate the diffusive zero-relaxation limit of the following multi-D semilinear hyperbolic system in pseudodifferential form:

We analyze the singular convergence, as , in the case which leads to a limit system of parabolic type. The analysis is carried out by using the following steps:

(i)

We single out algebraic ``structure conditions' on the full system, motivated by formal asymptotics, by some examples of discrete velocity models in kinetic theories.

(ii)

We deduce ``energy estimates ', uniformly in , by assuming the existence of a symmetrizer having the so-called block structure and by assuming ``dissipativity conditions' on .

(iii)

We assume a Kawashima type condition and perform the convergence analysis by using generalizations of compensated compactness due to Tartar and Gérard.

Finally, we include examples that show how to use our theory to approximate any quasilinear parabolic systems, satisfying the Petrowski parabolicity condition, or general reaction diffusion systems, including Chemotaxis and Brusselator type systems.

     

Upper-lower solutions for nonlinear parabolic systems and their applications

The method of upper-lower solutions for nonlinear parabolic systems without the assumption of quasi-monotonicity is obtained. An application is provided, by using the method developed in this paper, involving the existence of positive solutions to certain time-dependent interaction systems arising in biological and medical sciences. Furthermore, the existence of the ω-limit of given system is studied.     

The Harnack estimate for a nonlinear parabolic equation under the Ricci flow

Let (M,g(t)), 0 ≤ t ≤ T, be an n-dimensional closed manifold with nonnegative Ricci curvature, |Rc| ≤ C/t for some constant C > 0 and g(t) evolving by the Ricci flow

Local null controllability of nonlinear functional differential systems in Banach space

Sufficient conditions for the local null controllability of non-linear functional differential systems with unbounded linear operators in Banach space are established. The results are obtained using the semigroup of linear operators, fractional powers of operators, and the Schauder fixed-point theorem. Applications to parabolic differential systems are given.The work of the first and second authors was supported by CSIR, New Delhi, India.     

Estimates of solutions of initial-irregular oblique derivative problems for fully nonlinear parabolic equations

In this paper the initial-irregular oblique derivative problems for fully nonlinear parabolic equations of second order are proposed, and then some a priori estimates of solutions for the above problems are given.     

An optimization problem for time lag distributed parabolic systems

We consider an optimal boundary control problem for a distributed parabolic system with boundary conditions involving multipletime-varying lags. Necessary and sufficient optimality conditionsfor the Neumann problem with the quadratic performance functionalsare derived. The results are illustrated with numerical solutionsof example tasks.
