We introduce a notion of continuity for multimaps (or set-valued maps) which is mild. It encompasses both lower semicontinuity and upper semicontinuity. We give characterizations and we consider some permanence properties. This notion can be used for various purposes. In particular, it is used for continuity properties of subdifferentials and of value functions in parametrized optimization problems. We also prove an approximate selection theorem.   相似文献

In this paper, by virtue of two intermediate derivative-like multifunctions, which depend on an element in the intermediate space, some exact calculus rules are obtained for calculating the derivatives of the composition of two set-valued maps. Similar rules are displayed for sums. Moreover, by using these calculus rules, the solution map of a parametrized variational inequality and the variations of the feasible set of a parametrized mathematical programming problem are studied. Abstract

In the case of real-valued random variables, the concept of absolute continuity is well-defined in terms of the absolute continuity of the probability law of a random variable with respect to the usual Lebesgue measure, since both are acting on the same Borel sigma algebra on the real line. Naturally, the same extends to random vectors with real components. A satisfactory and commonly accepted definition of absolute continuity of random closed sets is not available, while in various applications this would help in clarifying the kind of randomness of a random set. We introduce here a definition that is shown to be an extension of the concept related to real-valued random variables, such that also for random sets it is true that absolute continuity implies continuity. Significant examples and counter examples are presented to illustrate the role of our definition in concrete cases. The relationship between our definition and others in well-accepted literature is shown.  相似文献

It is shown that certain capacities associated with potentials of functions in Lebesgue classes are non-increasing under orthogonal projection of sets. This inequality is then used to discuss continuity of traces of potentials on subspaces of possibly low dimension. The case of principal interest is the Bessel potential. The purpose of the paper is to give a complete characterization of the continuity of lower envelopes in the infinite dimensional spaces. Upper semicontinuous solutions of the bargaining problem are studied and also lower semicontinuous weak solutions of that problem are considered. Though mainly compact bargaining pairs are investigated, extensions to non-compact bargaining pairs are indicated. It is well known that on a bounded spectral interval the Dirac spectrum can be described locally by a non-decreasing sequence of continuous functions of the Riemannian metric. In the present article, we extend this result to a global version. We view the spectrum of a Dirac operator as a function $\mathbb Z \,\rightarrow \mathbb R \,$ and endow the space of all spectra with an $\mathrm{arsinh }$ -uniform metric. We prove that the spectrum of the Dirac operator depends continuously on the Riemannian metric. As a corollary, we obtain the existence of a non-decreasing family of functions on the space of all Riemannian metrics, which represents the entire Dirac spectrum at any metric. We also show that, due to spectral flow, these functions do not descend to the space of Riemannian metrics modulo spin diffeomorphisms in general.  相似文献

It is shown that local epi-sub-Lipschitz continuity of the function-valued mapping associated with a perturbed optimization problem yields the local Lipschitz continuity of the inf-projections (= marginal functions, = infimal functions).
