A circulatory flow-injection method (cyclic FIA) for the repetitive determination of zinc has been proposed. The procedure involves the use of 2-(5-bromo-2-pyridylazo)-5-[N-n-propyl-N-(3-sulfopropyl)amino]phenol (5-Br-PAPS) together with EDTA as a reagent carrier solution, which is recycled in a single-line flow system via a reservoir. The formed 5-Br-PAPS-Zn(II) complex was measured spectrophotometrically at 552 nm, and the signal intensity corresponded to the zinc concentration. After passing through a flow-through cell, the carrier stream then returned to the reservoir, and the main reagent, 5-Br-PAPS, was successfully regenerated by a ligand-exchange reaction with EDTA, allowing the repetitive determination of zinc. The calibration curve for zinc was linear in the concentration range from 0.4 to 10.0 mg dm(-3) with a correlation coefficient of 0.9995 (n = 6). The detection limit of this method was 0.02 mg dm(-3) (S/N= 3). This method allowed as many as 300 repetitive determinations of 2.0 mg dm(-3) zinc solution with only 100 cm3 of the circulating carrier solution, providing a reduction in the consumption of reagents and an elimination of waste, an important approach towards clean chemistry.  相似文献

A sensitive adsorptive anodic stripping procedure for the determination of trace zirconium at a carbon paste electrode (CPE) has been developed. The method is based on adsorptive accumulation of the Zr(IV)-alizarin red S(ARS) complex onto the surface of the CPE, followed by oxidation of adsorbed species. The optimal experimental conditions include the use of 0.10 mol · L−1 ammonium acetate buffer (pH 4.3), ARS, an accumulation potential of 0.20 V (versus SCE), an accumulation time of 2 min, a scan rate of 200 mV · s−1 and a second-order derivative linear scan mode. The oxidation peak for the complex appears at 0.69 V. The peak current is proportional to the concentration of Zr(IV) over the range of 1.0 × 10−9–2.0 × 10−7 mol · L−1, and the detection limit is 3 × 10−10 mol · L−1 for a 2 min adsorption time. The relative standard deviations (n = 8) for 5.0 × 10−8 and 5.0 × 10−9 mol · L−1 Zr(IV) are 3.3 and 4.8%, respectively. The proposed method was applied to the determination of zirconium in ore samples with satisfactory results.  相似文献

Trace levels of manganese can be determined by voltammetry after controlled adsorptive accumulation of the manganese-2-(5'-bromo-2'-pyridylazo)-5-diethylaminophenol (5-Br-PADAP) complex on a hanging mercury drop electrode. Optimal conditions include an ammonia buffer solution (pH 8.8) containing 1 x 10(-5)M 5-Br-PADAP and an accumulation potential of -1.20 V. The technique offers enhanced sensitivity over analogous measurements of the manganese-Eriochrome Black T chelate. The detection limit is 0.2 mug/1 with 1 min accumulation. The new adsorptive approach is characterized with new selectivity dimensions (compared to the Eriochrome Black T scheme), and is not affected by large excess of commonly coexisting calcium and magnesium cations (which severely interfere in the Eriochrome Black T procedure).  相似文献

A simple and precise square-wave adsorptive cathodic stripping voltammetry (SW-AdCSV) method has been described for simultaneous determination of Mn(II), Cu(II) and Fe(III) in water samples using a carbon paste electrode. In 0.1 mol L−1 acetate buffer (pH 5) containing 50 μmol L−1 of 2-(5′-bromo-2′-pyridylazo)-5-diethylaminophenol (5-Br-PADAP), Mn(II), Cu(II) and Fe(III) were simultaneously determined as metal-complexes with 5-Br-PADAP following preconcentration onto the carbon paste electrode by adsorptive accumulation at +1.0 V (vs. Ag/AgCl/3 M KCl). Insignificant interference from various cations (K+, Na+, Mg2+, Ca2+, Al3+, Bi3+, Sb3+, Se4+, Zn2+, Ni2+, Co2+, Cd2+, Pb2+, V5+, Ti4+ and NH4+), anions (HCO3, Cl, NO3−, SO42− and PO43−) and ascorbic acid was noticed. Limits of detection of 0.066, 0.108 and 0.093 μg L−1 and limits of quantitation of 0.22, 0.36 and 0.31 μg L−1 Mn(II), Cu(II) and Fe(III), respectively, were achieved by the described method. The described stripping voltammetry method was successfully applied for simultaneous determination of Mn(II), Cu(II) and Fe(III) in ground, tap and bottled natural water samples.  相似文献

The voltammetric determination of copper(II), based on adsorptive accumulation of the Cu(II)-2-(5-bromo-2-pyridylazo)-5-diethylaminophenol (S-Br-PADAP) complex on a hanging mercury drop electrode, is reported. The complex can be accumulated at the electrode at constant potential in 0.1M ammonium nitrate/ammonia buffer solution, and its reduction wave observed by scanning the potential in the negative direction, in the differential pulse mode. The calibration graph for copper is linear over the range 0.05-0.5muM, with accumulation for 5 min at -0.20 V. The adsorption of the complex is discussed and compared with that of copper complexes with several other pyridylazo derivatives.  相似文献

The behaviour of the vanadium(V) complex with 5-Br-PADAP at a mercury electrode was investigated in HOAcNaOAc. The adsorption phenomena were observed by linear-sweep voltammetry. The mechanism of the electrode reaction was found to be the irreversible reduction of the V(V) in the complex adsorbed on the surface of the electrode to the V(IV) complex with 5-Br-PADAP. In 0.02 mol l?1 HOAc-0.012 mol l?1 NaOAc (pH 4.5) and 1 × 10?6 mol l?1 5-Br-PADAP, the detection limits of linear-sweep adsorption voltammetry and 1.5th-order derivative adsorption voltammetry are 5 × 10?10 and 2.5 × 10?11 mol l?1 , respectively. Samples of poly[1-(3-sulfopropyl)-2-vinyl-pyridinium-betaine] (PSPV) have been synthesized to high conversion by free radical polymerization in aqueous solution of the zwitterionic monomer SPV with several concentrations of the crosslinker N,N′-methylene-bis-acrylamide (MBA). Hydrogels obtained by swelling them in water and aqueous KSCN solution were examined by gravimetric and dimensional analysis, and by compression-strain measurements. The derived effective crosslinking density νe was only ca. 11% of the theoretical value, indicating low efficiency of chemical crosslinking by MBA. At 298 K increasing content of MBA produces increases in the values of νe, elastic moduli and polymer-water interaction parameter χ. At a fixed MBA content, increasing temperature led to decreases in the values of νe, elastic moduli and χ, but an increase in water content of hydrogel. For swelling in aq. KSCN solution the mechanical properties are insensitive to content of salt. Experimental and theoretical analysis afforded values of the water/polymer, salt/water and salt/polymer interaction parameters. Where appropriate the findings are compared with those reported for a different zwitterionic hydrogel and a neutral non-zwitterionic hydrogel.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

A highly sensitive azo dye, 2-(5-nitro-2-pyridylazo)-5-[N-n-propyl-N-(3-sulfopropyl)amino]phenol (Nitro-PAPS), is used as a colorimetric reagent for the determination of tin(IV) content. Nitro-PAPS reacts with tin(IV) to form a water-soluble complex in 1.0 M acetic acid. Full color development is attained within 5 minutes, and maintains constant absorbance for at least 24 hours. The apparent molar absorptivity is 7.7 x 104 dm3 mol?1 cm?1 at a maximum wavelength of 580 ran. Beer's law is obeyed for tin(IV) in the range of 0-1.2 μg ml?1. The proposed method is successfully applied to the determination of trace amounts of tin in steels.  相似文献

Treatment of 4-[(3-hydroxy-2-pyridyl)amino]-2-phenyl-5-pyrimidinecarboxylic acid (X) with acetic anhydride under refluxing conditions afforded 10-hydroxy-2-phenyl-5H-pyrido[1,2-a]-pyrimido[4,5-d]pyrimidin-5-one acetate (IX). The intermediate X was prepared from 4-chloro-2-phenyl-5-pyrimidinecarboxylic acid ethyl ester (V). The reaction of V with the sodium salt of 2-amino-3-hydroxypyridine at room temperature gave 4-(2-amino-3-pyridyloxy)-2-phenyl-5-pyrimidinecarboxylic acid ethyl ester (VI). Treatment of VI with a hot aqueous sodium hydroxide solution and subsequent acidification gave X. Involvement of 4-[(3-hydroxy-2-pyridyl)amino]-2-phenyl-5-pyrimidinecaroboxylic acid ethyl ester (VIII) (Smiles rearrangement product) as an intermediate in the above alkaline hydrolysis reaction of VI to X was demonstrated by the isolation of VIII and its subsequent conversion into X under alkaline hydrolysis conditions. Acetylation of VIII with acetic anhydride in pyridine solution gave 4-[(3-hydroxy-2-pyridyl)amino]-2-phenyl-5-pyrimidinecarboxylic acid ethyl ester acetate (XI), which afforded IX on fusion at 220°. This alternative synthesis of IX from XI supported the structural assignment of IX. Fusion of VI gave 10-hydroxy-2-phenyl-5H-pyrido[1,2-a]pyrimido]4,5-d]pyrimidin-5-one (VII). The latter was also obtained when VIII was fused at 210°. Acetylation of VII with acetic anhydride afforded IX.  相似文献

1-(3-pyridyl)-3-aryl-8-aminobenzo[f]quinolines were synthesized by reduction with tin in acidic media of 1-(3-pyridyl)-3-aryl-8-nitrobenzo[f]quinolines obtained by catalytic condensation of arylidene(6-nitro)-2-naphthylamines with acetylpyridine. The structures of the compounds were proved by a set of data from elementary analysis and IR, UV, and mass spectroscopy. A rapid spectrophotometric method for the determination of Pd in titanium alloys is proposed. It is based on the reaction of 2-(5-bromo-2-pyridylazo)-5-(diethylamino)phenol with Pd(II) in a sulphuric acid medium in the presence of ethanol. Beer's law is obeyed up to 40 mug of Pd. The molar absorptivity is 4.5 x 10(4) 1.mole(-1).cm(-1). The standard deviation is 0.3 mug of Pd and the coefficient of variation varies from 0.8 to 3.3%. The elements ordinarily present in such alloys do not interfere. High selectivity is achieved by using fluoroboric acid as masking agent. Improvements in the method of sample decomposition also contribute to the rapidity of the method.  相似文献

The colorimetric metal chelating agent, 2-(5-bromo-2-pyridylazo)-5-(N-propyl-N-sulfopropylamino)phenol (5-Br-PAPS), was demonstrated on a capillary electrophoresis microchip in the separation and detection of six metal ions of environmental concern, Cd2+, Pb2+, Cu2+, Co2+, Ni2+, and Hg2+. The inclusion of methanol in the buffer was found to improve both the separation efficiency and sensitivity, in addition to making the technique directly amenable to the application of solid-phase extraction. The combination of metal chelation with solid-phase extraction on a C18 silica gel microcolumn gave several hundred fold improvements in detection limits for the CE microchip measurements of toxic metal ions in water and extracted from a solid Plexiglas surface.  相似文献
