Hole-rich Li4Ti5O12 composites are synthesized by spray drying using carbon nanotubes as additives in precursor solution, subsequently followed calcinated at high temperature in air. The structure, morphology, and texture of the as-prepared composites are characterized with XRD, Raman, BET and SEM techniques. The electrochemical properties of the as-prepared composites are investigated systematically by charge/discharge testing, cyclic voltammograms and AC impedance spectroscopy, respectively. In comparison with the pristine Li4Ti5O12, the hole-rich Li4Ti5O12 induced by carbon nanotubes exhibits superior electrochemical performance, especially at high rates. The obtained excellent electrochemical performances of should be attributed to the hole-rich structure of the materials, which offers more connection-area with the electrolyte, shorter diffusion-path length as well faster migration rate for both Li ions and electrons during the charge/discharge process.  相似文献

Silicon/carbon nanocomposites are prepared by dispersing nano-sized silicon in mesophase pitch and a subsequent pyrolysis process. In the nanocomposites, silicon nanoparticles are homogeneously distributed in the carbon networks derived from the mesophase pitch. The silicon/carbon nanocomposite delivers a high reversible capacity of 841 mAh g?1 at the current density of 100 mA g?1 at the first cycle, high capacity retention of 98 % over 30 cycles, and good rate performance. The superior electrochemical performance of nanocomposite is attributed to the carbon networks with turbostratic structure, which enhance the conductivity and alleviate the volume change of silicon.  相似文献

Nanoporous-silicon (np-Si) flakes were prepared using a combination of an electrochemical etching process and an ultra-sonication treatment and the electrochemical properties were studied as an anode active material for rechargeable lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). This fabrication method is a simple, reproducible, and cost effective way to make high-performance Si-based anode active materials in LIBs. The anode based on np-Si flakes exhibited a higher performances (lower capacity fade rate, stability and excellent rate capability at high C-rate) than the anode based on Si nanowires. The excellent performance of the np-Si flake anode was attributed to the hollowness (nanoporous structure) of the anode active material, which allowed it to accommodate a large volume change during cycling.  相似文献

Nanostructured WO3 thin film has been successfully fabricated by radio-frequency magnetron sputtering method and its electrochemistry with lithium was investigated for the first time. The reversible discharge capacity of WO3/Li cells cycled between 0.01 V and 4.0 V was found above 626 mAh/g during the first 60 cycles at the current density 0.02 mA/cm2. By using X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy and selected-area electron diffraction measurements, the reversible conversion of WO3 into nanosized metal W and Li2O was revealed. The high reversible capacity and good recyclability of WO3 electrode made it become a promising cathode material for future rechargeable lithium batteries.  相似文献

The porosity and microstructure of a Portland cement-multi-walled carbon nanotube composite were investigated. Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (CNTs), up to 1 wt.% of cement, synthesized by infusion chemical vapor deposition, and Portland cement type I (PC) were used to produce pastes with a water to cement ratio of 0.5. Mercury intrusion porosimetry (MIP) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were used to characterize Portland cement-CNTs systems. MIP analysis of the results indicates that total porosity of the mixes with CNTs was found to decrease with increasing CNTs content. Moreover, an important effect of additional CNTs was a reduction in the number of mesopores, while SEM technique showed dispersion of CNTs between the hydration phases of Portland cement pastes.  相似文献

The electric resistivity of a clean multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWNT) mat sample was studied at temperatures T between 300 and 1900 K. We found that the resistivity ρ decreases monotonously with increasing temperature without showing any sign of turn up. Our results can be well fitted with a power law of Tα within the framework of one dimensional Luttinger liquid theory with α = 0.13 or with a simple thermally activated inter shell hopping model.  相似文献

It was demonstrated that the electrochemical performance enhancements in KOH-activated carbon materials should be mainly due to the created polar oxygen-containing functional groups (OFGs, such as such as C–O, CO, –OH, and O–CO), while the role of each OFGs on the electrochemical enhancements is still unclear. In this work, KOH activation treatments were systematically conducted on carbon nanotubes (CNTs) to explore the role of each OFG on the performance enhancements of Li–S batteries (LSBs). Results showed that the capacity of activated-CNT-sulfur (a-CNT-S) cathodes is 33% higher than that of the pristine CNT-S cathodes, and their rate capability and cycling stability are also enhanced. And the electrochemical analysis combining with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy indicated that the formed C–O bonds are the real factor for the enhanced electrochemical performances of a-CNT-S cathodes. Furthermore, the optimal activation conditions on CNT-based cathodes for LSBs were optimized to be 10 min at 700 °C.  相似文献

A novel graphene (G)-Co/CoO shaddock peel-derived carbon foam (SPDCF) hybrid was fabricated as anode materials for lithium-ion batteries. The preparation of G-Co/CoO SPDCF was according to the following two steps. Firstly, the dried shaddock peels were immersed into the mixture of Co(NO3)2/graphene oxide for about 12 h. Then, the shaddock peels were taken out and heated at 800 °C for 2 h under N2 atmosphere. The strategy is simple, low-cost, and environmentally friendly because the shaddock peel is abundant and renewable. The obtained G-Co/CoO SPDCF hybrid were carefully characterized by SEM, EDS, XPS, XRD, TGA, BET, TEM, and electrochemical techniques. The results showed that the carbonized shaddock peels had hierarchical porous nanoflakes structures and graphene was uniformly dispersed into the SPDCF. The nanosized Co/CoO was formed on the G-SPDCF. The resulted G-Co/CoO SPDCF hybrid could maintain a high capacity of 600 mA h g?1 at 0.2 A g?1 after 80 cycles, which was much higher than that of commercial graphite (372 mA h g?1). The enhanced performance might be ascribed to the existence of lots of uniform Co/CoO and the hierarchical G-SPDCF alleviating the mechanical stress during the process of lithiation/delithiation.  相似文献

Sn/SnSb, Sn/Bi, and Sn/SnSb/Bi multi-phase materials were synthesised via reduction of cationic precursors with NaBH4 and with Zn, and were tested for their suitability as anode materials for Li-ion batteries by galvanostatic cycling. The rapid reduction with NaBH4 yielded the finer materials with the better cycling stabilities, whereas the reduction with Zn yielded the purer materials with the lower irreversible capacities in the first cycle. Reversible capacities of ∼ 600 mAh g−1, ∼ 350 – 400 mAh g−1, and ∼ 500 mAh g−1 were obtained for Sn/SnSb, Sn/Bi, and Sn/SnSb/Bi, respectively. The cycling stability of the materials decreased in the order Sn/SnSb>Sn/SnSb/Bi>Sn/Bi, which is in part attributed to the presence / absence of intermetallic phases which undergo phase-separation during lithiation. Here, we propose a new strategy that employs a functional separator composed of radical scavenging agents for removal of radical species in the cell. In detail, a radical scavenger, trimesitylborane (TRMSB), is embedded on the surface of nano-sized tungsten oxide (WO3) by a simple one-step process and the resulting nanoparticles are coated onto conventional separators by a dip-coating process. Our screening test performed by chemical reaction of TRMSB with a radical indicator (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl, DPPH) confirms that TRMSB effectively scavenges radical species via a chemical reaction, implying that the use of a WO3-TRMSB–functionalized separator would be effective for decreasing radical concentrations during electrochemical processes. In our electrochemical tests, the cell cycled with a WO3-TRMSB–functionalized separator exhibit showed both improved cycling retention compared to a cell cycled with a bare separator and improved physical and mechanical properties.  相似文献

Silicon is a promising anode material for high-capacity Li-ion batteries (LIBs). However, its insulating property and large volume change during the lithiation/delithiation process result in poor cycling stability and in pulverization of Si. In this work, glucose-derived carbon-coated Si nanoparticles (C–Si NPs) are in conjunction with crumpled graphene (cGr) particles by a spray-drying method to prepare a novel composite (C–Si/cGr) material. The prepared C–Si NPs are uniformly embedded in the ridges of the cGr particles. The carbon layer of C–Si can make a good contact with the graphene sheet, resulting in enhanced electrical conductivity and fast charge transfer. In addition, the unique crumpled structure of the cGr can buffer the large volume change upon cycling process and facilitate the diffusion of electrolyte into the composite material. When employed as an anode electrode of LIBs, the C–Si/cGr composites deliver enhanced electrochemical performance, including stable cycling with a discharge capacity of 790 mAh·g−1 after 100 cycles and a rate capability of 654 mAh·g−1 at 2C. The synergistic effect of the carbon layer coating of Si NPs and the crumpled structure of the cGr particles results in a composite with improved the electrochemical performance, which is likely related to its high electrical conductivity and good mechanical stability of composite material.  相似文献

It has been recently demonstrated that carbon nanotubes (CNTs) represent a new type of chemical sensor capable of detecting a small concentration of molecules such as CO, NO2, NH3.In this work, CNTs were synthesized by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) on the SiO2/Si substrate by decomposition of acetylene (C2H2) on sputtered Ni catalyst nanoparticles. Their structural properties are studied by atomic force microscopy, high-resolution scanning electron microscopy (HRSEM) and Raman spectroscopy. The CNTs grown at 700 °C exhibit a low dispersion in size, are about 1 μm long and their average diameter varies in the range 25–60 nm as a function of the deposition time. We have shown that their diameter can be reduced either by annealing in oxygen environment or by growing at lower temperature (less than 600 °C).We developed a test device with interdigital Pt electrodes on an Al2O3 substrate in order to evaluate the CNTs-based gas sensor capabilities. We performed room temperature current–voltage measurements for various gas concentrations. The CNT films are found to exhibit a fast response and a high sensitivity to NH3 gas.  相似文献

Multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs, average diameter 8 nm) functionalized by N-vinyl pyrrolidone (NVP) were synthesized by radical polymerization and characterized by Fourier transform infrared and Raman spectroscopies, thermogravimetric analysis and transmission electron microscopy. These NVP–MWCNTs exhibit remarkable solubility in water, ethanol and dimethyl formamide. The polyvinyl pyrrolidone can be attached onto the surface of the MWCNTs and the degree of functionalization is affected by NVP content. The functionalization causes possible grafting reaction and solid physical coating between MWCNTs and PVP.  相似文献

Three morphologies of two-dimension Boron with metallicity have been successfully synthetized by experiments. To access the potential of β12 borophene (□) and χ3 borophene monolayer (◇) as anode materials for lithium ion batteries, first-principles calculations based on density functional theory (DFT) are performed. Lithium atom is preferentially absorbed over the center of the hexagonal B atom hollow of β12 and χ3 borophene monolayer. The fully lithium storage phase of β12 and χ3 borophene monolayer corresponds to Li8B10 and Li8B16 with a theoretical specific capacity of 1983 and 1240 mA h g?1, respectively, much larger than other two-dimension materials. Interestingly, lithium ion diffusion on β12 borophene (□) monolayer is extremely fast with a low-energy barrier of 41 meV. Meanwhile, lithiated-borophene monolayer shows enhanced metallic conductivity during the whole lithiation process. Compared to the buckled borophene (△), the extremely enhanced lithium adsorption energy of β12 and χ3 phase with vacancies weakens lithium ion diffusion. Therefore, it is important to control the generation of vacancy in the buckled borophene (△) anode for lithium ion batteries. Borophene is a promising candidate with high capacity and high rate capability for anode material in lithium ion batteries.  相似文献

The SnO2 nano-flower/graphene (SnO2-NF/GN) composites were synthesized by using graphene (GN) and SnO2 nano-flower (SnO2-NF). Among them, the SnO2-NFs were prefabricated by using sodium hydroxide and stannic chloride pentahydrate (SnCl4·5H2O) as raw materials. The results of SEM show that the SnO2-NFs are uniformly dispersed on the surface of GN. Furthermore, compared with the pure SnO2, the as-prepared SnO2-NF/GN composites displayed superior cycle performace and high rate capability. The SnO2-NF/GN composite delivers a specific capacity of 650 mAh g?1 after 60 cycles and an excellent rate capability of 480 mAh g?1 at 2000 mA g?1.  相似文献

Sn and SnO2-graphene composites were synthesized using hydrothermal process, followed by annealing in Ar/H2 atmosphere, and characterized using x-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and transition electron microscopy. The results indicated that the polycrystalline metallic Sn forms nanospheres with a diameter of 100?~?300 nm, while the SnO2 nanoparticles are much smaller with a size below 15 nm, which adsorb tightly on the surface of graphene sheets. The Sn and SnO2-gaphene composites showed good electrochemical performance. After 55 charging/discharging cycles, the capacity remains above 440 mAh/g at a cycling rate of 400 mA/g and the coulombic efficiency is 99.1 %. The good electrochemical properties of the composites are partially contributed to the graphene component with good mechanical flexibility and electrical conductivity, which is an excellent carbon matrix for dispersing the Sn and SnO2 nanostructures and provides the electron transport pathways as well.  相似文献

Surface functionalization of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs), with amino groups via chemical modification of carboxyl groups introduced on the nanotube surface, using O-(7-azabenzotriazol-1-yl)-N,N,N′,N′-tetramethyluronium hexafluorophosphate (N-HATU) and N,N-diisopropylethylamine (DIEA) is reported. The N-HATU coupling agent provides faster reaction rate and the reaction occurs at lower temperature compared to amidation and acylation-amidation chemistry. The amines, 1,6-hexanediamine (HDA), diethylenetriamine (DETA), triethylenetetramine (TETA) and 1,4-phenylenediamine (PDA) were used. The resulting materials were characterized with different techniques such as FTIR, XRD, elemental analysis, TGA, TEM, UV-vis spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry. MWCNTs functionalized with PDA posses the best dispersibility and electron transfer properties in comparison to the others amines. Functionalized MWCNTs, at the concentrations between 1 and 50 μg ml−1, were not cytotoxic for the fibroblast L929 cell line. However, the concentrations of MWCNTs higher of 10 μg ml−1 reduced cell growth and this effect correlated positively with the degree of their uptake by L929 cells.  相似文献

Diamines are known to act as a medium to bind miscellaneous compounds to carbon nanotubes (CNT). However, they are commonly applied in a tedious manner. Here, multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were functionalized by a series of diamine molecules (ethylenediamine, 1,6-hexamethylenediamine and 1,4-diaminobenzen) in a one-pot, rapid microwave-assisted method. Surface functionality groups and morphology of MWCNTs were analyzed by infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, Raman spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and transmission electron microscopy. The results consistently confirmed the formation of diamines functionalities on MWCNTs, while the structure of MWCNT has remained relatively intact. This simple and efficient process may play an important role for realizing miscellaneous functionalization of CNTs.  相似文献

In this work, novel hollow urchin-like MnO2 microspheres (u-MnO2), consisting of a hollow core with nanotubes, are synthesized by a simple hydrothermal process. The morphology of the MnO2 structures could be tuned from round particles to a hierarchical hollow urchin structure by controlling the hydrothermal reaction time, with no need for surfactant or templates. The nanostructures of the obtained u-MnO2 are characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern of the u-MnO2 reveals a tetragonal structure of α-MnO2. The carbon nanofibers (CNFs) are uniformly deposited on u-MnO2 to improve the electrical conductivity and to utilize the hierarchical architecture of u-MnO2. As the anode electrode of Li-ion batteries, the u-MnO2/CNFs nanocomposites exhibit discharge capacity of 988 mAh·g−1 after 100 cycles with a good rate capability. The superior electrochemical performances of the u-MnO2/CNFs nanocomposites can be attributed to the hierarchical urchin-like structures and the superior electrical conductivity of the nanocomposites, which can facilitate fast electron and ion transport and accommodate a large volume change during charge/discharge.  相似文献
