Let denote the set of simultaneously - approximable points in and denote the set of multiplicatively ψ-approximable points in . Let be a manifold in . The aim is to develop a metric theory for the sets and analogous to the classical theory in which is simply . In this note, we mainly restrict our attention to the case that is a planar curve . A complete Hausdorff dimension theory is established for the sets and . A divergent Khintchine type result is obtained for ; i.e. if a certain sum diverges then the one-dimensional Lebesgue measure on of is full. Furthermore, in the case that is a rational quadric the convergent Khintchine type result is obtained for both types of approximation. Our results for naturally generalize the dimension and Lebesgue measure statements of Beresnevich et al. (Mem AMS, 179 (846), 1–91 (2006)). A maximal surface with isolated singularities in a complete flat Lorentzian 3-manifold
is said to be entire if it lifts to a (periodic) entire multigraph in . In addition, is called of finite type if it has finite topology, finitely many singular points and is a finitely sheeted multigraph. Complete (or proper) maximal immersions with isolated singularities in are entire, and entire embedded maximal surfaces in with a finite number of singularities are of finite type. We classify complete flat Lorentzian 3-manifolds carrying entire maximal surfaces of finite type, and deal with the topology, Weierstrass representation and asymptotic behavior of this kind of surfaces. Finally, we construct new examples of periodic entire embedded maximal surfaces in with fundamental piece having finitely many singularities.   相似文献

Laguerre geometry of surfaces in is given in the book of Blaschke [Vorlesungen über Differentialgeometrie, Springer, Berlin Heidelberg New York (1929)], and has been studied by Musso and Nicolodi [Trans. Am. Math. soc. 348, 4321–4337 (1996); Abh. Math. Sem. Univ. Hamburg 69, 123–138 (1999); Int. J. Math. 11(7), 911–924 (2000)], Palmer [Remarks on a variation problem in Laguerre geometry. Rendiconti di Mathematica, Serie VII, Roma, vol. 19, pp. 281–293 (1999)] and other authors. In this paper we study Laguerre differential geometry of hypersurfaces in . For any umbilical free hypersurface with non-zero principal curvatures we define a Laguerre invariant metric g on M and a Laguerre invariant self-adjoint operator : TM → TM, and show that is a complete Laguerre invariant system for hypersurfaces in with n≥ 4. We calculate the Euler–Lagrange equation for the Laguerre volume functional of Laguerre metric by using Laguerre invariants. Using the Euclidean space , the semi-Euclidean space and the degenerate space we define three Laguerre space forms , and and define the Laguerre embeddings and , analogously to what happens in the Moebius geometry where we have Moebius space forms S n , and (spaces of constant curvature) and conformal embeddings and [cf. Liu et al. in Tohoku Math. J. 53, 553–569 (2001) and Wang in Manuscr. Math. 96, 517–534 (1998)]. Using these Laguerre embeddings we can unify the Laguerre geometry of hypersurfaces in , and . Deep matrix algebras based on a set over a ring are introduced and studied by McCrimmon when has infinite cardinality. Here, we construct a new -module that is faithful for of any cardinality. For a field of arbitrary characteristic and , is studied in depth. The algebra is shown to possess a unique proper non-zero ideal, isomorphic to . This leads to a new and interesting simple algebra, , the quotient of by its unique ideal. Both and the quotient algebra are shown to have centers isomorphic to . By sampling the window of a Gabor frame for belonging to Feichtinger’s algebra, , one obtains a Gabor frame for . In this article we present a survey of results by R. Orr and A.J.E.M. Janssen and extend their ideas to cover interrelations among Gabor frames for the four spaces , , and . Some new results about general dual windows with respect to sampling and periodization are presented as well. This theory is used to show a new result of the Kaiblinger type to construct an approximation to the canonical dual window of a Gabor frame for .   相似文献

It is well known that certain isotopy classes of oseudo-Anosov maos on a Riemann surface S of non-excluded type can be defined through Dehn twists tα and tβ along simple closed geodesics α and β on S,respectively. We introduce a new class of exponentials of Artin–Hasse type, called π-exponentials. These exponentials depend on the choice of a generator π of the Tate module of a Lubin–Tate group over . They arise naturally as solutions of solvable differential modules over the Robba ring. If is isomorphic to over , we develop methods to test their over-convergence, and get in this way a stronger version of the Frobenius structure theorem for differential equations. We define a natural transformation of the Artin–Schreier complex into the Kummer complex. This provides an explicit generator of the Kummer unramified extension of , whose residue field is a given Artin–Schreier extension of , where k is the residue field of K. We then compute explicitly the group, under tensor product, of isomorphism classes of rank one solvable differential equations. Moreover, we get a canonical way to compute the rank one φ-module over attached to a rank one representation of , defined by an Artin–Schreier character.  相似文献

In this article we study nondegenerate projective curves of degree d which are not arithmetically Cohen-Macaulay. Note that for a rational normal curve and a point . Our main result is about the relation between the geometric properties of X and the position of P with respect to . We show that the graded Betti numbers of X are uniquely determined by the rank of P with respect to . In particular, X satisfies property N 2,p if and only if . Therefore property N 2,p of X is controlled by and conversely can be read off from the minimal free resolution of X. This result provides a non-linearly normal example for which the converse to Theorem 1.1 in (Eisenbud et al., Compositio Math 141:1460–1478, 2005) holds. Also our result implies that for nondegenerate projective curves of degree d which are not arithmetically Cohen–Macaulay, there are exactly distinct Betti tables.  相似文献

We consider cocycles over certain hyperbolic actions, , and show rigidity properties for cocycles with values in a Lie group or a diffeomorphism group, which are close to identity on a set of generators, and are sufficiently smooth. The actions we consider are Cartan actions of or , for , and Γ torsion free cocompact lattice. The results in this paper rely on a technique developed recently by D. Damjanović and A. We consider the following anisotropic Emden–Fowler equation where is a bounded smooth domain and a(x) is a positive smooth function. We investigate the effect of anisotropic coefficient a(x) on the existence of bubbling solutions. We show that at given local maximum points of a(x), there exists arbitrarily many bubbles. Let and denote the complexifications of Heisenberg hypersurfaces in and , respectively. We show that non-degenerate holomorphic Segre mappings from into with possess a partial rigidity property. As an application, we prove that the holomorphic Segre non-transversality for a holomorphic Segre map from into with propagates along Segre varieties. Let C be a genus 2 curve and the moduli space of semi-stable rank 2 vector bundles on C with trivial determinant. In Bolognesi (Adv Geom 7(1):113–144, 2007) we described the parameter space of non stable extension classes of the canonical sheaf ω of C by ω−1. In this paper, we study the classifying rational map that sends an extension class to the corresponding rank two vector bundle. Moreover, we prove that, if we blow up along a certain cubic surface S and at the point p corresponding to the bundle , then the induced morphism defines a conic bundle that degenerates on the blow up (at p) of the Kummer surface naturally contained in . Furthermore we construct the -bundle that contains the conic bundle and we discuss the stability and deformations of one of its components.  相似文献
