Additive symmetric bijections on geometric structures

Motivated by their existence in the algebraic theory of quadratic forms we define and study additive symmetric bijections on geometric structures. We give a construction of these bijections on IP-designs and then show that their existence on a design is equivalent to the design arising as the points and hyperplanes of a projective geometry. Using additive symmetric bijections we then develop a combinatorial framework for the study of finitely generated Witt rings.     

Dualities between Almost Completely Decomposable Groups and their Endomorphism Rings

We prove that endomorphism rings of nearly isomorphic, almost completely decomposable groups of ring type are also nearly isomorphic as additive structures. On Additive Maps and Commutativity in Rings

We study additive maps which are skew-commuting or skew-centralizing on appropriate subsets of a ring R; and we investigate commutativity in prime and semiprime rings admitting a nonzero derivation d such that [d(x),d(y)] = 0 for all x,y in some nonzero one-sided ideal. This paper has two main parts. The first, motivated by a recent result of Bre?ar [3] on triviality of skew-commuting additive maps on prime rings, is a study of additive maps which are skew-commuting or skew-centralizing on subsets of certain rings. The second continues a study, begun years ago by Herstein [7], of prime and semiprime rings R admitting a nonzero derivation d such that d(x)d(y) ? d(y)d(x) = 0 for all x, y in a suitably chosen subset of R.     

A NOTE ON ADDITIVE RANK FUNCTIONS

Additive rank functions have been studied for Noetherian rings by Krause. It is shown that the notion of an additive rank function can be extended to more general classes of rings, and can be used in the characterization of semiprime Goldie rings and of orders in Artinian rings.     

Additive Groups of Unequivocal Rings

A ring R is unequivocal if for every radical S, either S(R) = 0 or S(R) = R. A complete classification of the additive groups of unequivocal rings, which are not reduced torsion free, is given. The almost completely decomposable torsion free groups which are additive groups of unequivocal rings are also described completely.

Noether环上加性秩函数的分解

本文利用局部化的方法,由Ａｒｔｉｎ环上加性秩函数的分解形式决定了Ｎｏｅｔｈｅｒ环上所有加性秩函数的形式（与［１］相同）,且在同一模范畴中刻画了原子秩函数的意义,得出一新的结论．     

ON ADDITIVE GROUPS OF SEMI-LOCAL RINGS

Results are obtained on the additive groups of semi-local rings. Conditions are given for embedding a ring into a local ring.     

On I-Rigid and q-Rigid Rings

Elementary equivalence of rings with finitely generated additive groups

We give algebraic characterizations of elementary equivalence between rings with finitely generated additive groups. They are similar to those previously obtained for finitely generated nilpotent groups. Here, the rings are not supposed associative, commutative or unitary.     

Galois subrings of simple rings

Suppose R is a finite direct sum of simple associative rings and G is a finite group of auto-morphisms of the ring R. It is shown that if there is no additive ¦G¦-torsion in R, then the subring of elements of R that are fixed under G is a finite direct sum of simple rings.     

Radicals of Jordan rings connected with alternative rings

Subject to a certain restriction on the additive group of an alternative ring A, we prove that R(A)=R(A⁽⁺⁾), where A⁽⁺⁾ is a Jordan ring and R is one of the following radicals: the Jacobson radical, the upper nil-radical, the locally nilpotent radical, or the lower nil-radical. For the proof of these relationships Herstein's well-known construction for associative rings is generalized to alternative rings.     

THE ADDITIVE GROUPS OF RINGS WITH TOTALLY ORDERED LATTICE OF IDEALS

The object of this paper is to describe the additive groups of rings R satisfying the following condition: For any two ideals A,B in R either A u B, or B u A. Such rings will be called TOLI rings. The rings considered here are not necessarily associative or with identity.

Isomorphism of a Ring to the Endomorphism Ring of an Abelian Group

This paper presents necessary and sufficient conditions under which isomorphism of endomorphism rings of additive groups of arbitrary associative rings with 1 implies isomorphism of these rings. For a certain class of Abelian groups, we present a criterion which shows when isomorphism of their endomorphism rings implies isomorphism of these groups. We demonstrate necessary and sufficient conditions under which an arbitrary ring is the endomorphism ring of an Abelian group. This solves Problem 84 in L. Various Structures Associated to the Representation Categories of Eight-Dimensional Nonsemisimple Hopf Algebras

We determine various additional structures on all nonsemisimple Hopf algebras of dimension 8 over an algebraically closed field k of characteristic 0, including their representation rings and quasitriangular structures. As a consequence, it is shown that for two such Hopf algebras, the tensor categories of their representations are monoidally equivalent if and only if the representation rings of them are isomorphic as rings. XST-环和Morita-Like等价

XST-环的概念于1999年由Garcia和Marin[1]引进.本文主要研究XST-环的Morita-Like等价.证明了在环R中,由两个右q-稠密的XST-环确定的两个完全可加的范畴是同构的.通过描述生成元AM的自同态环End(AM)的q-稠密右理想和稠密右理想的关系,得到了,对于有单位元的环A而言,位于FM (A)和FC (A)间的中间矩阵环上的所有完全可加范畴是同构的.如此,扩张了中间矩阵环的Morita-Like等价链[2].再则,改进了文[1]中的主要结果,刻画了一个右XST-环Morita-Like等价于一个有单位元的环的条件.     

Defining Multiplication in Some Additive Expansions of Polynomial Rings

Adapting a result of R. Villemaire on expansions of Presburger arithmetic, we show how to define multiplication in some expansions of the additive reduct of certain Euclidean rings. In particular, this applies to polynomial rings over a finite field.     

On some classes of modules and characterization of rings

An abstract class of R-Mod is termed Additive Class if it is closed under taking submodules, homomorphic images and finite direct sums. In this paper we study the lattice properties of R-ad, the big lattice of all additive classes in R-mod for R any ring. Also, we study the lattice properties of R-ad when R is a Noetherian or semisimple ring. We describe a characterization of some rings through the additive classes and their properties. We study some properties of additive classes related with the associated linear filters.
