In this paper we study the existence of positive solutions for nonlinear problems driven by the p-Laplacian or more generally, by multivalued p-Laplacian-like operators. Both problems have a nonsmooth locally Lipschitz potential (hemivariational inequalities). Using variational methods based on the nonsmooth critical point theory, we prove two existence results with the p-Laplacian and multivalued p-Laplacian-like operators.  相似文献

By the method of potential monotone operators we prove global theorems on existence, uniqueness, and ways to find a solution for different classes of nonlinear discrete equations of convolution type with kernels of special form both in weighted and in weightless real spaces ? p . Using the property of potentiality of the operators under consideration, in the case of space ? 2 and in the case of a weighted space ? p (?) with a generic weight ?, we prove that a discrete equation of convolution type with an odd power nonlinearity has a unique solution and it (the main result) can be found by gradient method.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce and study a new concept of summability in the category of multilinear operators, which is the Cohen strongly p-summing multilinear operators. We prove a natural analog of the Pietsch domination theorem and we compare the notion of p-dominated multilinear operators with this class by generalizing a theorem of Bu-Cohen.  相似文献

We give a new variational approach toL p -potential theory for sub-Markovian semigroups. It is based on the observation that the Gâteaux-derivative of the corresponding L p-energy functional is a monotone operator. This allows to apply the well established theory of Browder and Minty on monotone operators to the nonlinear problems in L p-potential theory. In particular, using this approach it is possible to avoid any symmetry assumptions of the underlying semigroup. We prove existence of corresponding (r, p)-equilibrium potentials and obtain a complete characterization in terms of a variational inequality. Moreover we investigate associated potentials and encounter a natural interpretation of the so-called nonlinear potential operator in the context of monotone operators.  相似文献

We consider abstract non-negative self-adjoint operators on L2(X) which satisfy the finite-speed propagation property for the corresponding wave equation. For such operators, we introduce a restriction type condition, which in the case of the standard Laplace operator is equivalent to (p, 2) restriction estimate of Stein and Tomas. Next, we show that in the considered abstract setting, our restriction type condition implies sharp spectral multipliers and endpoint estimates for the Bochner-Riesz summability. We also observe that this restriction estimate holds for operators satisfying dispersive or Strichartz estimates. We obtain new spectral multiplier results for several second order differential operators and recover some known results. Our examples include Schrödinger operators with inverse square potentials on Rn, the harmonic oscillator, elliptic operators on compact manifolds, and Schr¨odinger operators on asymptotically conic manifolds.  相似文献

We study the existence of “Lp-type” gradient estimates for the heat kernel of the natural hypoelliptic “Laplacian” on the real three-dimensional Heisenberg Lie group. Using Malliavin calculus methods, we verify that these estimates hold in the case p>1. The gradient estimate for p=2 implies a corresponding Poincaré inequality for the heat kernel. The gradient estimate for p=1 is still open; if proved, this estimate would imply a logarithmic Sobolev inequality for the heat kernel.  相似文献

We consider solutions to nonlinear elliptic equations with measure data and general growth and ellipticity conditions of degenerate type, as considered in Lieberman (Commun Partial Differ Equ 16:311–361, 1991); we prove pointwise gradient bounds for solutions in terms of linear Riesz potentials. As a direct consequence, we get optimal conditions for the continuity of the gradient.  相似文献

We prove Lp and smoothing estimates for the resolvent of magnetic Schrödinger operators. We allow electromagnetic potentials that are small perturbations of a smooth, but possibly unbounded background potential. As an application, we prove an estimate on the location of eigenvalues of magnetic Schrödinger and Pauli operators with complex electromagnetic potentials.  相似文献

In this paper we examine an obstacle problem for a nonlinear hemivariational inequality at resonance driven by the p-Laplacian. Using a variational approach based on the nonsmooth critical point theory for locally Lipschitz functionals defined on a closed, convex set, we prove two existence theorems. In the second theorem we have a pointwise interpretation of the obstacle problem, assuming in addition that the obstacle is also a kind of lower solution for the nonlinear elliptic differential inclusion.  相似文献

We study Riesz and Bessel potentials in the settings of Hankel transform, modified Hankel transform and Hankel-Dunkl transform. We prove sharp or qualitatively sharp pointwise estimates of the corresponding potential kernels. Then we characterize those 1 ≤ p, q≤∞, for which the potential operators satisfy L p -L q estimates. In case of the Riesz potentials, we also characterize those 1 ≤ p, q ≤ ∞, for which two-weight L p -L q estimates, with power weights involved, hold. As a special case of our results, we obtain a full characterization of two power-weight L p -L q bounds for the classical Riesz potentials in the radial case. This complements an old result of Rubin and its recent reinvestigations by De Nápoli, Drelichman and Durán, and Duoandikoetxea.  相似文献

We prove maximal ergodic inequalities for a sequence of operators and for their averages in the noncommutative Lp-space. We also obtain the corresponding individual ergodic theorems. Applying these results to actions of a free group on a von Neumann algebra, we get noncommutative analogues of maximal ergodic inequalities and pointwise ergodic theorems of Nevo-Stein.  相似文献

In this paper we study nonlinear elliptic differential equations driven by the p-Laplacian with unilateral constraints produced by the combined effects of a monotone term and of a nonmonotone term (variational-hemivariational inequality). Our approach is variational and uses the subdifferential theory of nonsmooth functions and the theory of accretive and monotone operators. Also using these ideas and a special choice of the monotone term, we prove the existence of a strictly positive smooth solution for a class of nonlinear equations with nonsmooth potential (hemivariational inequality).  相似文献

We prove a class of endpoint pointwise estimates for solutions to quasilinear, possibly degenerate elliptic equations in terms of linear and nonlinear potentials of Wolff type of the source term. Such estimates allow to bound size and oscillations of solutions and their gradients pointwise, and entail in a unified approach virtually all kinds of regularity properties in terms of the given datum and regularity of coefficients. In particular, local estimates in Hölder, Lipschitz, Morrey and fractional spaces, as well as Calderón–Zygmund estimates, follow as a corollary in a unified way. Moreover, estimates for fractional derivatives of solutions by mean of suitable linear and nonlinear potentials are also implied. The classical Wolff potential estimate by Kilpeläinen & Malý and Trudinger & Wang as well as recent Wolff gradient bounds for solutions to quasilinear equations embed in such a class as endpoint cases.  相似文献

For every Tychonoff space X we denote by Cp(X) the set of all continuous real-valued functions on X with the pointwise convergence topology, i.e., the topology of subspace of RX. A set P is a frame for the space Cp(X) if Cp(X)⊂PRX. We prove that if Cp(X) embeds in a σ-compact space of countable tightness then X is countable. This shows that it is natural to study when Cp(X) has a frame of countable tightness with some compactness-like property. We prove, among other things, that if X is compact and the space Cp(X) has a Lindelöf frame of countable tightness then t(X)?ω. We give some generalizations of this result for the case of frames as well as for embeddings of Cp(X) in arbitrary spaces.  相似文献

We consider Ornstein-Uhlenbeck processes (OU-processes) associated to hypo-elliptic diffusion processes on finite-dimensional Lie groups: let L be a hypo-elliptic, left-invariant “sum of the squares”-operator on a Lie group G with associated Markov process X, then we construct OU-processes by adding negative horizontal gradient drifts of functions U. In the natural case U(x)=−logp(1,x), where p(1,x) is the density of the law of X starting at identity e at time t=1 with respect to the right-invariant Haar measure on G, we show the Poincaré inequality by applying the Driver-Melcher inequality for “sum of the squares” operators on Lie groups. The resulting Markov process is called the natural OU-process associated to the hypo-elliptic diffusion on G. We prove the global strong existence of these OU-type processes on G under an integrability assumption on U. The Poincaré inequality for a large class of potentials U is then shown by a perturbation technique. These results are applied to obtain a hypo-elliptic equivalent of standard results on cooling schedules for simulated annealing on compact homogeneous spaces M.  相似文献

Building upon the ideas of R. Arens and J. Eells (1956) [1] we introduce the concept of spaces of Banach-space-valued molecules, whose duals can be naturally identified with spaces of operators between a metric space and a Banach space. On these spaces we define analogues of the tensor norms of Chevet (1969) [3] and Saphar (1970) [14], whose duals are spaces of Lipschitz p-summing operators. In particular, we identify the dual of the space of Lipschitz p-summing operators from a finite metric space to a Banach space — answering a question of J. Farmer and W.B. Johnson (2009) [6] — and use it to give a new characterization of the non-linear concept of Lipschitz p-summing operator between metric spaces in terms of linear operators between certain Banach spaces. More generally, we define analogues of the norms of J.T. Lapresté (1976) [11], whose duals are analogues of A. Pietsch?s (p,r,s)-summing operators (A. Pietsch, 1980 [12]). As a special case, we get a Lipschitz version of (q,p)-dominated operators.  相似文献

We consider a particular class of families of multi-dimensional lattice Schrödinger operators with deterministic (e.g., quasi-periodic) potentials generated by the “hull” given by an orthogonal series over the Haar wavelet basis on the torus of arbitrary dimension, with expansion coefficients considered as independent parameters. In the strong disorder regime, we prove Anderson localization for generic operator families and show that all localized eigenfunctions are unimodal and feature uniform exponential decay away from their respective localization centers. We also prove a variant of the Minami estimate for deterministic potentials and simplicity of the spectrum.  相似文献

Sufficient conditions for the similarity of the operator with an indefinite weight r(x)=(sgnx)|r(x)| are obtained. These conditions are formulated in terms of Titchmarsh-Weyl m-coefficients. Sufficient conditions for the regularity of the critical points 0 and ∞ of J-nonnegative Sturm-Liouville operators are also obtained. This result is exploited to prove the regularity of 0 for various classes of Sturm-Liouville operators. This implies the similarity of the considered operators to self-adjoint ones. In particular, in the case r(x)=sgnx and , we prove that A is similar to a self-adjoint operator if and only if A is J-nonnegative. The latter condition on q is sharp, i.e., we construct such that A is J-nonnegative with the singular critical point 0. Hence A is not similar to a self-adjoint operator. For periodic and infinite-zone potentials, we show that J-positivity is sufficient for the similarity of A to a self-adjoint operator. In the case q≡0, we prove the regularity of the critical point 0 for a wide class of weights r. This yields new results for “forward-backward” diffusion equations.  相似文献

For a functional operator equation in Lebesgue space, we prove a statement on the pointwise estimate of the modulus of the increment of its global (on a fixed set Π ? ? n ) solution under the variation of the control function appearing in this equation. As an auxiliary statement, we prove a generalization of Gronwall’s lemma to the case of a nonlinear operator acting in Lebesgue space. The approach used here is based onmethods from the theory of stability of existence of global solutions to Volterra operator equations.  相似文献

In this paper we examine semilinear and nonlinear Neumann problems with a nonsmooth locally Lipschitz potential function. Using variational methods based on the nonsmooth critical point theory, for the semilinear problem we prove a multiplicity result under conditions of double resonance at higher eigenvalues. Our proof involves a nonsmooth extension of the reduction method due to Castro-Lazer-Thews. The nonlinear problem is driven by the p-Laplacian. So first we make some observations about the beginning of the spectrum of (−Δp,W1,p(Z)). Then we prove an existence and multiplicity result. The existence result permits complete double resonance. The multiplicity result specialized in the semilinear case (i.e. p=2) corresponds to the super-sub quadratic situation.  相似文献
