We study convergence of approximate identities on some complete semi-normed or normed spaces of locally L p functions where translations are isometries, namely Marcinkiewicz spaces \({\mathcal{M}^{p}}\) and Stepanoff spaces \({\mathcal{S}^p}\), 1 ≤ p < ∞, as well as others where translations are not isometric but bounded (the bounded p-mean spaces M p ) or even unbounded (\({M^{p}_{0}}\)). We construct a function f that belongs to these spaces and has the property that all approximate identities \({\phi_\varepsilon * f}\) converge to f pointwise but they never converge in norm.  相似文献

It is well known that if m is an L p -multiplier for the Fourier transform on \({\mathbb{R}^n}\) , (1 < p < ∞) then there exists a pseudomeasure σ such that T m fσ * f . A similar problem is discussed for the L p ?Fourier multipliers for \({\mathcal{H}}\) -valued functions on the Heisenberg group, where \({\mathcal{H}}\) is a separable Hilbert space.  相似文献

Let M be a left module for the Schur algebra S(nr), and let \({s \in \mathbb{Z}^+}\) . Then \({M^{\otimes s}}\) is a \({(S(n,\,rs), F{\mathfrak{S}_{s}})}\) -bimodule, where the symmetric group \({{\mathfrak{S}_s}}\) on s letters acts on the right by place permutations. We show that the Schur functor f rs sends \({M^{\otimes s}}\) to the \({(F{\mathfrak{S}_{rs}},F{\mathfrak{S}_s})}\) -bimodule \({F\mathfrak{S}_{rs}\otimes_{F(\mathfrak{S}_{r}\wr{\mathfrak{S}_s})} ((f_rM)^{\otimes s}\otimes_{F} F{\mathfrak{S}_s})}\) . As a corollary, we obtain the image under the Schur functor of the Lie power L s (M), exterior power \({\bigwedge^s(M)}\) of M and symmetric power S s (M).  相似文献

Let \({\Omega}\) be a Lipschitz bounded domain of \({\mathbb{R}^N}\), \({N\geq2}\), and let \({u_p\in W_0^{1,p}(\Omega)}\) denote the p-torsion function of \({\Omega}\), p > 1. It is observed that the value 1 for the Cheeger constant \({h(\Omega)}\) is threshold with respect to the asymptotic behavior of up, as \({p\rightarrow 1^+}\), in the following sense: when \({h(\Omega) > 1}\), one has \({\lim_{p\rightarrow 1^+}\left\|u_{p}\right\| _{L^\infty(\Omega)}=0}\), and when \({h(\Omega) < 1}\), one has \({\lim_{p\rightarrow 1^+}\left\|u_p\right\| _{L^\infty(\Omega)}=\infty}\). In the case \({h(\Omega)=1}\), it is proved that \({\limsup_{p\rightarrow1^+}\left\|u_p\right\|_{L^\infty(\Omega)}<\infty}\). For a radial annulus \({\Omega_{a,b}}\), with inner radius a and outer radius b, it is proved that \({\lim_{p\rightarrow 1^+}\left\|u_p\right\| _{L^\infty(\Omega_{a,b})}=0}\) when \({h(\Omega_{a,b})=1}\).  相似文献

Let \({\phi : M \to R^{n+p}(c)}\) be an n-dimensional submanifold in an (n + p)-dimensional space form R n+p(c) with the induced metric g. Willmore functional of \({\phi}\) is \({W(\phi) = \int_{M}(S - nH^{2})^{n/2}dv}\) , where \({S = \sum_{\alpha,i, j}(h^{\alpha}_{ij} )^2}\) is the square of the length of the second fundamental form, H is the mean curvature of M. The Weyl functional of (M, g) is \({\nu(g) = \int_{M}|W_{g}|^{n/2}dv}\) , where \({|W_{g}|^{2} = \sum_{i, j,k,l} W^{2}_{ijkl}}\) and W ijkl are the components of the Weyl curvature tensor W g of (M, g). In this paper, we discover an inequality relation between Willmore functional \({W(\phi)}\) and Weyl funtional ν(g).  相似文献

For a family of interpolation norms \({\| \cdot \|_{1,2,s}}\) on \({\mathbb{R}^{n}}\), we provide a distribution over random matrices \({\Phi_s \in \mathbb{R}^{m \times n}}\) parametrized by sparsity level s such that for a fixed set X of K points in \({\mathbb{R}^{n}}\), if \({m \geq C s \log(K)}\) then with high probability, \({\frac{1}{2}\| \varvec{x} \|_{1,2,s} \leq \| \Phi_s (\varvec{x}) \|_1 \leq 2 \| \varvec{x} \|_{1,2,s}}\) for all \({\varvec{x} \in X}\). Several existing results in the literature roughly reduce to special cases of this result at different values of s: For s = n, \({\| \varvec{x} \|_{1,2,n}\equiv \| \varvec{x} \|_{1}}\) and we recover that dimension reducing linear maps can preserve the ?1-norm up to a distortion proportional to the dimension reduction factor, which is known to be the best possible such result. For s = 1, \({\| \varvec{x} \|_{1,2,1}\equiv \| \varvec{x} \|_{2}}\), and we recover an ?2/?1 variant of the Johnson–Lindenstrauss Lemma for Gaussian random matrices. Finally, if \({\varvec{x}}\) is s- sparse, then \({\| \varvec{x} \|_{1,2,s} = \| \varvec{x} \|_1}\) and we recover that s-sparse vectors in \({\ell_1^n}\) embed into \({\ell_1^{\mathcal{O}(s \log(n))}}\) via sparse random matrix constructions.  相似文献

Let \({p \in (1,\infty)}\), \({s \in (0,1)}\) and \({\Omega \subset {\mathbb{R}^{N}}}\) a bounded open set with boundary \({\partial\Omega}\) of class C 1,1. In the first part of the article we prove an integration by parts formula for the fractional p-Laplace operator \({(-\Delta)_{p}^{s}}\) defined on \({\Omega \subset {\mathbb{R}^{N}}}\) and acting on functions that do not necessarily vanish at the boundary \({\partial\Omega}\). In the second part of the article we use the above mentioned integration by parts formula to clarify the fractional Neumann and Robin boundary conditions associated with the fractional p-Laplacian on open sets.  相似文献

We consider a class of weakly coupled systems of elliptic operators \({\mathcal{A}}\) with unbounded coefficients defined in \({\mathbb{R}^N}\). We prove that a semigroup (T(t))t ≥ 0 of bounded linear operators can be associated with \({\mathcal{A}}\), in a natural way, in the space of all bounded and continuous functions. We prove a compactness property of the semigroup as well as some uniform estimates on the derivatives of the function T(t)f, when f belongs to some spaces of Hölder continuous functions, which are the key tools to prove some optimal Schauder estimates for the solution to some nonhomogeneous elliptic equations and Cauchy problems associated with the operator \({\mathcal{A}}\). Under suitable additional conditions, we then prove that the restriction of the semigroup to the subspace of smooth and compactly supported functions extends by a strongly continuous semigroup to L p -spaces over \({\mathbb{R}^N}\), related to the Lebesgue measure, when \({p \in [1,\infty)}\). We also provide sufficient conditions for this semigroup to be analytic when \({p \in [1,\infty)}\). Finally, we prove some L p ?L q -estimates.  相似文献

For p, q > 0 we study operators T on the Bergman space \({A_{2}(\mathbb{D)}}\) in the disk such that \({\left(\sum_{j}\Vert T\Delta_{j}\Vert_{p}^{q}\right)^{1/q}<\infty,}\) where the norms \({\Vert\cdot\Vert_{p}}\) are in the Schatten class S p (A 2), the projection \({\Delta_{j}f=\sum_{n\in I_{j}}a_{n}z^{n}}\) for \({f(z)=\sum_{n=0}^{\infty}a_{n}z^{n}}\) and \({I_{j}=[2^{j}-1,2^{j+1} )\cap(\mathbb{N}\cup\{0\})}\) for \({j\in\mathbb{N}\cup\{0\}.}\) We consider the relation of this property with mixed norms of the Berezin transform of T and of the related function \({f_{T}(z)={\Vert}T(k_{z})\Vert}\) where k z is the normalized Bergman kernel. These classes of operators denoted by S(p, q) are closely related when assumed to be positive with other sets of operators, like the class of positive operators on A 2 for which \({\left(\sum_{j\geq0}(\sum_{n\in I_{j}}|\left\langle T^pe_{n},e_{n}\right\rangle |)^{q/p}\right)^{1/q}<\infty}\) , where \({\{e_{n}\}_{n\geq0}}\) is the canonical basis of A 2; also we study the relation of Toeplitz operators in S(p, q) with the Schatten-Herz classes, where the decomposition is through dyadic annuli of the domain \({\mathbb{D}}\) .  相似文献

In this paper, we study Toeplitz operators T μ from one Fock space \({F^{p}_{\alpha}}\) to another \({F^{q}_{\alpha}}\) for 1 < p, q < ∞ with positive Borel measures μ as symbols. We characterize the boundedness (and compactness) of \({T_\mu: F^{p}_{\alpha} \to F^{q}_{\alpha}}\) in terms of the averaging function \({\widehat{\mu}_r}\) and the t-Berezin transform \({\widetilde{\mu}_t}\) respectively. Quite differently from the Bergman space case, we show that T μ is bounded (or compact) from \({F^{p}_{\alpha}}\) to \({F^{q}_{\alpha}}\) for some p ≤ q if and only if T μ is bounded (or compact) from \({F^{p}_{\alpha}}\) to \({F^{q}_{\alpha}}\) for all p ≤ q. In order to prove our main results on T μ , we introduce and characterize (vanishing) (p, q)-Fock Carleson measures on C n .  相似文献

We show that for every sequence \({(p_n)_{n\in\mathbb{N}}}\) with 1 ≤ p n  ≤ 2 there exists an \({\mathcal{L}_1}\) -space with the Radon-Nikodým containing an isomorphic copy of \({\ell_1(\ell_{p_n})}\) .  相似文献

We calculate \({\mathcal{S}^{{\it Diff}}(S^p \times S^q)}\), the smooth structure set of S p × S q , for p, q ≥ 2 and p + q ≥ 5. As a consequence we show that in general \({\mathcal{S}^{Diff}(S^{4j-1}\times S^{4k})}\) cannot admit a group structure such that the smooth surgery exact sequence is a long exact sequence of groups. We also show that the image of the forgetful map \({\mathcal{S}^{Diff}(S^{4j}\times S^{4k}) \rightarrow \mathcal{S}^{Top}(S^{4j}\times S^{4k})}\) is not in general a subgroup of the topological structure set.  相似文献

In this paper, a large family \({\mathcal{F}^k(l)}\) of binary sequences of period 2 n ? 1 is constructed for odd n = 2m + 1, where k is any integer with gcd(n, k) = 1 and l is an integer with 1 ≤ l ≤ m. This generalizes the construction of modified Gold sequences by Rothaus. It is shown that \({\mathcal{F}^k(l)}\) has family size \({2^{ln}+2^{(l-1)n}+\cdots+2^n+1}\), maximum nontrivial correlation magnitude 1 + 2m+l. Based on the theory of quadratic forms over finite fields, all exact correlation values between sequences in \({\mathcal{F}^k(l)}\) are determined. Furthermore, the family \({\mathcal{F}^k(2)}\) is discussed in detail to compute its complete correlation distribution.  相似文献

We prove an L p version of the Donoho–Stark’s uncertainty principle for the hypergeometric Fourier transform on \({\mathbb{R}^d}\). Next, using the ultracontractive properties of the semigroups generated by the Heckman–Opdam Laplacian operator, we obtain an L p Heisenberg–Pauli–Weyl uncertainty principle for the hypergeometric Fourier transform on \({\mathbb{R}^d}\).  相似文献

Let M be a smooth compact oriented Riemannian manifold, and let Δ M be the Laplace–Beltrami operator on M. Say \({0 \neq f \in \mathcal{S}(\mathbb {R}^+)}\) , and that f (0)  =  0. For t  >  0, let K t (x, y) denote the kernel of f (t 2 Δ M ). We show that K t is well-localized near the diagonal, in the sense that it satisfies estimates akin to those satisfied by the kernel of the convolution operator f (t 2Δ) on \({\mathbb {R}^n}\) . We define continuous \({\mathcal {S}}\)-wavelets on M, in such a manner that K t (x, y) satisfies this definition, because of its localization near the diagonal. Continuous \({\mathcal {S}}\)-wavelets on M are analogous to continuous wavelets on \({\mathbb {R}^n}\) in \({\mathcal {S}}\) (\({\mathbb {R}^n}\)). In particular, we are able to characterize the Hölder continuous functions on M by the size of their continuous \({\mathcal {S}}\)-wavelet transforms, for Hölder exponents strictly between 0 and 1. If M is the torus \({\mathbb T^2}\) or the sphere S 2, and f (s)  =  se ?s (the “Mexican hat” situation), we obtain two explicit approximate formulas for K t , one to be used when t is large, and one to be used when t is small.  相似文献

Let \({\{\phi_s\}_{s\in S}}\) be a commutative semigroup of completely positive, contractive, and weak*-continuous linear maps acting on a von Neumann algebra N. Assume there exists a semigroup \({\{\alpha_s\}_{s\in S}}\) of weak*-continuous *-endomorphisms of some larger von Neumann algebra \({M\supset N}\) and a projection \({p\in M}\) with N = pMp such that α s (1 ? p) ≤ 1 ? p for every \({s\in S}\) and \({\phi_s(y)=p\alpha_s(y)p}\) for all \({y\in N}\). If \({\inf_{s \in S}\alpha_s(1-p)=0}\) then we show that the map \({E:M\to N}\) defined by E(x) = pxp for \({x\in M}\) induces a complete isometry between the fixed point spaces of \({\{\alpha_s\}_{s\in S}}\) and \({\{\phi_s\}_{s\in S}}\).  相似文献

We prove the stability of the affirmative part of the solution to the complex Busemann–Petty problem. Namely, if K and L are origin-symmetric convex bodies in \({{\mathbb C}^n}\), n = 2 or n = 3, \({\varepsilon >0 }\) and \({{\rm Vol}_{2n-2}(K\cap H) \le {\rm Vol}_{2n-2}(L \cap H) + \varepsilon}\) for any complex hyperplane H in \({{\mathbb C}^n}\) , then \({({\rm Vol}_{2n}(K))^{\frac{n-1}n}\le({\rm Vol}_{2n}(L))^{\frac{n-1}n} + \varepsilon}\) , where Vol2n is the volume in \({{\mathbb C}^n}\) , which is identified with \({{\mathbb R}^{2n}}\) in the natural way.  相似文献

In a general unbounded uniform C 2-domain \({\Omega \subset \mathbb{R}^n, n \geq 3}\) , and \({1\leq q\leq \infty}\) consider the spaces \({\tilde{L}^q(\Omega)}\) defined by \({\tilde{L^q}(\Omega) := \left\{\begin{array}{ll}L^q(\Omega)+L^2(\Omega),\quad q < 2, \\ L^q(\Omega)\cap L^2(\Omega),\quad q\geq 2, \end{array}\right.}\) and corresponding subspaces of solenoidal vector fields, \({\tilde{L}^q_\sigma(\Omega)}\) . By studying the complex and real interpolation spaces of these we derive embedding properties for fractional order spaces related to the Stokes problem and L p ? L q -type estimates for the corresponding semigroup.  相似文献

Let q be a power of a prime p, and let \(r=nk+1\) be a prime such that \(r\not \mid q\), where n and k are positive integers. Under a simple condition on q, r and k, a Gauss period of type (nk) is a normal element of \({\mathbb {F}}_{q}^{n}\) over \({\mathbb {F}}_q\); the complexity of the resulting normal basis of \({\mathbb {F}}_{q}^{n}\) over \({\mathbb {F}}_q\) is denoted by C(nkp). Recent works determined C(nkp) for \(k\le 7\) and all qualified n and q. In this paper, we show that for any given \(k>0\), C(nkp) is given by an explicit formula except for finitely many primes \(r=nk+1\) and the exceptional primes are easily determined. Moreover, we describe an algorithm that allows one to compute C(nkp) for the exceptional primes \(r=nk+1\). Our numerical results cover C(nkp) for \(k\le 20\) and all qualified n and q.  相似文献

In this paper we investigate the existence of permutation polynomials of the form x d  + L(x) on \({{\mathbb{F}_{2^n}}}\) , where \({{L(x)\in\mathbb{F}_{2^n}[x]}}\) is a linearized polynomial. It is shown that for some special d with gcd(d, 2 n ?1) > 1, x d  + L(x) is nerve a permutation on \({{\mathbb{F}_{2^n}}}\) for any linearized polynomial \({{L(x)\in\mathbb{F}_{2^n}[x]}}\) . For the Gold functions \({{x^{2^i+1}}}\) , it is shown that \({{x^{2^i+1}+L(x)}}\) is a permutation on \({{\mathbb{F}_{2^n}}}\) if and only if n is odd and \({{L(x)=\alpha^{2^i}x+\alpha x^{2^i}}}\) for some \({{\alpha\in\mathbb{F}_{2^n}^{*}}}\) . We also disprove a conjecture in (Macchetti Addendum to on the generalized linear equivalence of functions over finite fields. Cryptology ePrint Archive, Report2004/347, 2004) in a very simple way. At last some interesting results concerning permutation polynomials of the form x ?1 + L(x) are given.  相似文献
