Transverse vibration and stability analysis of circular plate subjected to follower force and thermal load are analyzed . B ased on the thin plate theory in involving the variable temperature, the differential equation of transverse vibration for the axisymmetric circular plate subjected to follower force and thermal load is established. Then, the differential equation of vibration and corresponding boundary conditions are discretized by the differential quadrature method. Meanwhile, the generalized eigenvalue under three different boundary conditions are calculated. In this case, the change curve of the first order dimensionless complex frequency of the circular plate subjected to the follower force in the different conditions with the variable temperature coefficient and temperature load is analyzed. The stability and corresponding critical loads of the circular plate subjected to follower force and thermal load with simply supported edge, clamped edge and free edge are discussed. The results provide theoretical basis for improving the dynamic stability of the circular plate.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to obtain numerical solutions of the one-dimensional, two-dimensional and coupled Burgers' equations through the generalized differential quadrature method (GDQM). The polynomial-based differential quadrature (PDQ) method is employed and the obtained system of ordinary differential equations is solved via the total variation diminishing Runge-Kutta (TVD-RK) method. The numerical solutions are satisfactorily coincident with
the exact solutions. The method can compete against the methods applied in the literature.  相似文献

In this paper, the MHD peristaltic flow inside wavy walls of an asymmetric channel is investigated, where the walls of the channel are moving with peristaltic wave velocity along the channel length. During this investigation, the electrical conductivity both in Lorentz force and Joule heating is taken to be temperature dependent. Also, the long wavelength and low Reynolds number assumptions are utilized to reduce the governing partial differential equations into a set of coupled nonlinear ordinary differential equations. The new set of obtained equations is then numerically solved using the generalized differential quadrature method(GDQM). This is the first attempt to solve the nonlinear equations arising in the peristaltic flows using this method in combination with the Newton-Raphson technique. Moreover, in order to check the accuracy of the proposed numerical method, our results are compared with the results of built-in Mathematica command NDSolve. Taking Joule heating and viscous dissipation into account, the effects of various parameters appearing in the problem are used to discuss the fluid flow characteristics and heat transfer in the electrically conducting fluids graphically. In presence of variable electrical conductivity, velocity and temperature profiles are highly decreasing in nature when the intensity of the electrical conductivity parameter is strengthened.  相似文献

In this paper, free vibration response of stepped beams made from functionally graded materials (FGMs) is investigated. The beams are supported by various types of elastically end constraints. The differential transformation method (DTM) is employed to solve the governing differential equations of such beams in order to obtain natural frequencies and mode shapes. The power law distribution is used and modified to describe material compositions across the thickness of the beams made of FGMs. Two main types of the stepped FGM beams in which their material compositions can be described by using the modified power law distribution are selected to investigate their vibration behaviour. The significant parametric studies such as step ratio, step location, boundary conditions, spring constants and material volume fraction are taken into investigation.  相似文献

This paper studies the vibration characteristics of a rotating tapered cantilever Bernoulli–Euler beam with linearly varying rectangular cross-section of area proportional to xn, where n equals to 1 or 2 covers the most practical cases. In this work, the differential transform method (DTM) is used to find the nondimensional natural frequencies of the tapered beam. Numerical results are tabulated for different taper ratios, nondimensional angular velocities and nondimensional hub radius. The effects of the taper ratio, nondimensional angular velocity and nondimensional hub radius are discussed. The accuracy is assured from the convergence of the natural frequencies and from the comparisons made with the studies in the open literature. It is shown that the natural frequencies of a rotating tapered cantilever Bernoulli–Euler beam can be obtained with high accuracy by using DTM.  相似文献

This paper presents an improved generalized differential quadrature (GDQ) method for the investigation of the effects of boundary conditions on the free vibration characteristics of truncated conical panels. The truncated conical panel is an important geometrical shape in the fields of aerospace, marine and structural engineering. However, despite this importance, few works in free vibration analysis have dealt with this particular geometry. In this work, the vibration characteristics of clamped and simply supported truncated conical shells are obtained for various circumferential wave numbers. Further, the effects of the vertex and subtended angles on the frequency parameters are also examined in detail. Due to limited published results in the open literature, results for a range of cases are compared with those generated from the commercial finite element solver McNeal-Schwendler Corporation Nastran, and excellent agreement is observed.  相似文献

In this paper, a new differential quadrature (DQ) methodology is employed to study free vibration of irregular quadrilateral straight-sided thin plates. A four-nodded super element is used to map the irregular physical domain into a square domain in the computational domain. Second order transformation schemes with relative ease and less computation are employed to transform the fourth order governing equation of thin plates between the two domains. The only degree of freedom within the domain is the displacement, whereas along the boundaries, the displacement as well as the second order derivative of the displacement with respect to associated normal co-ordinate variable in computational domain are the two degrees of freedom. Implementing the method, the formulation for the DQ method for the free vibration analysis of plates of straight-sided shapes was presented together with the implementation procedure for the different boundary conditions. To demonstrate the accuracy, convergency and stability of the new methodology, detail studies are made on isotropic plates at acute angles with different geometries, boundary and loading conditions including DQ free-edge boundary condition implementations. Accurate results even with fewer degrees of freedom than for those of comparable numerical algorithms were achieved.  相似文献

Partial differential equations (PDEs) for the forced vibration of structural beams are solved in this paper using the recently proposed generalized differential quadrature rule (GDQR). The GDQR techniques are first applied to both spatial and time dimensions simultaneously as a whole. No other classical methods are needed in the time dimension. The objective of this paper is to formularize the GDQR expressions and corresponding explicit weighting coefficients, while the derivation of explicit weighting coefficients is one of the most important aspects in the differential quadrature methods. It should be emphasized that the GDQR expressions and weighting coefficients for two-dimensional problems are not a direct application of those for one-dimensional problems, and they are distinctly different for PDEs of different orders. An Euler beam and a Timoshenko beam are employed as examples. Accurate results are obtained. The proposed procedures can be applied to problems in other disciplines of sciences and technology, where the problems may be governed by other PDEs with different orders in the time or spatial dimension.  相似文献

The differential transformation method (DTM) is employed to solve a nonlinear differential equation, namely the Lorenz system. Numerical results are compared to those obtained by the Runge-Kutta method to illustrate the preciseness and effectiveness of the proposed method. In particular, we examine the accuracy of the (DTM) as the Lorenz system changes from a non-chaotic system to a chaotic one. It is shown that the (DTM) is robust, accurate and easy to apply.  相似文献

In this work, exact formulae have been obtained for determining the lowest natural frequencies and critical loads of elastic circular arches with flexibly supported ends for symmetrical vibration in the direction perpendicular to the initial curvature of the arch. This investigation is concerned with three cases of load behaviour during the process of deformation. The values of the frequencies and critical loads are shown to be dependent on the opening angle of the arch, on the stiffness of the flexibly supported ends and on the ratio of the flexural rigidity to the torsional rigidity of the arch cross-section.  相似文献

In the free vibration analysis of clamped non-circular cylindrical shell panels, a matrix method has been used to solve the governing differential equations, which have variable coefficients. The effect of the curvature, thickness ratio and aspect ratio on the natural frequencies has been studied. The results obtained for circular cylindrical panels are compared with other available results. The convergence of the solution is found to be good.  相似文献

In this paper a solution to the problem of finding the shape of piezoelectric modal sensors for a cantilever beam with intermediate support is proposed by using the differential transformation method (DTM). A general expression for designing the shape of a piezoelectric modal sensor is presented, in which the output signal of the designed sensor is proportional to the response of the target mode. Other modes are filtered out. The modal sensor shape is expressed as a linear function of the second spatial derivative of the structural mode shape function. By using boundary condition and continuity condition equations at intermediate support, the closed-form series solution of the second spatial derivative of the mode shapes can be determined based on DTM. Then the shapes of the designed modal sensors are obtained. Finally, numerical examples are given to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed modal sensors for the cantilever beam with intermediate support.  相似文献

This paper presents the coupled version of a previous work on nonlinear Schrödinger equation [23]. It focuses on the construction of approximate solutions of nonlinear Schrödinger equations. In this paper, we applied the differential transformation method (DTM) to solving coupled Schrödinger equations. The obtained results show that the technique suggested here is accurate and easy to apply.  相似文献

In this paper, the static analysis of functionally graded (FG) circular plates resting on linear elastic foundation with various edge conditions is carried out by using a semi-analytical approach. The governing differential equations are derived based on the three dimensional theory of elasticity and assuming that the mechanical properties of the material vary exponentially along the thickness direction and Poisson's ratio remains constant. The solution is obtained by employing the state space method (SSM) to express exactly the plate behavior along the graded direction and the one dimensional differential quadrature method (DQM) to approximate the radial variations of the parameters. The effects of different parameters (e.g., material property gradient index, elastic foundation coefficients, the surfaces conditions (hard or soft surface of the plate on foundation), plate geometric parameters and edges condition) on the deformation and stress distributions of the FG circular plates are investigated.  相似文献

The target of this paper is to present an exhaustive study on the small scale effect on vibrational behavior of a rotary tapered axially functionally graded (AFG) microbeam on the basis of Timoshenko and Euler–Bernoulli beam and modified couple stress theories. The variation of the material properties and cross section along the longitudinal direction of the microbeam are taken into consideration as a linear function. Hamilton's principle is used to derive the equations for cantilever and propped cantilever boundary conditions and the generalized differential quadrature method (GDQM) is employed to solve the equations. By parametric study, the effects of small-scale parameter, rates of cross section change of the microbeam and angular velocity on the fundamental and second frequencies of the microbeam are studied. Also, comparison between the frequencies of Timoshenko and Euler–Bernoulli microbeams are presented. The results can be used in many applications such as micro-robots and biomedical microsystems.  相似文献

Nonlinear free vibration analysis of curved double-walled carbon nanotubes (DWNTs) embedded in an elastic medium is studied in this study. Nonlinearities considered are due to large deflection of carbon nanotubes (geometric nonlinearity) and nonlinear interlayer van der Waals forces between inner and outer tubes. The differential quadrature method (DQM) is utilized to discretize the partial differential equations of motion in spatial domain, which resulted in a nonlinear set of algebraic equations of motion. The effect of nonlinearities, different end conditions, initial curvature, and stiffness of the surrounding elastic medium, and vibrational modes on the nonlinear free vibration of DWCNTs is studied. Results show that it is possible to detect different vibration modes occurring at a single vibration frequency when CNTs vibrate in the out-of-phase vibration mode. Moreover, it is observed that boundary conditions have significant effect on the nonlinear natural frequencies of the DWCNT including multiple solutions.  相似文献

Vibration analysis of single-layered graphene sheets (SLGSs) is investigated using nonlocal continuum plate model. To this end, Eringens's nonlocal elasticity equations are incorporated into the classical Mindlin plate theory for vibrations of rectangular nanoplates. In contrast to the classical model, the nonlocal model developed in this study has the capability to evaluate the natural frequencies of the graphene sheets with considering the size-effects on the vibrational characteristics of them. Solutions for frequencies of the free vibration of simply-supported and clamped SLGSs are computed using generalized differential quadrature (GDQ) method. Then, molecular dynamics (MD) simulations for the free vibration of various SLGSs with different values of side length and chirality are employed, the results of which are matched with the nonlocal model ones to derive the appropriate values of the nonlocal parameter relevant to each boundary condition. It is found that the value of the nonlocal parameter is independent of the magnitude of the geometrical variables of the system.  相似文献

An analysis is presented for the free vibration of a truncated conical shell with variable thickness by use of the transfer matrix approach. The applicability of the classical thin shell theory is assumed and the governing equations of vibration of a conical shell are written as a coupled set of first order differential equations by using the transfer matrix of the shell. Once the matrix has been determined by quadrature of the equations, the natural frequencies and the mode shapes of vibration are calculated numerically in terms of the elements of the matrix under any combination of boundary conditions at the edges. The method is applied to truncated conical shells with linearly, parabolically or exponentially varying thickness, and the effects of the semi-vertex angle, truncated length and varying thickness on the vibration are studied.  相似文献

In this paper, the entropy generation of a flow through a movable plate with variable temperature is studied.Suitable similarity variables are applied to transform the local entropy generation rate to entropy generation number.A modified differential transform method(DTM) with shooting method is used to obtain the similarity solution of the entropy generation. The effects of different parameters(Prandtl number, variable wall temperature) on the irreversibility(such as N_(sh), N_(sf), N_(sx)) are analyzed and discussed. Moreover, it is worth mentioning that DTM is of advantage because its numerical solution is differentiation and integration. Therefore, its analysis result is reliable and high accuracy.  相似文献
