Non-ideal behaviour of the room temperature ionic liquids (RTILs), 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate [bmim][BF4]; 1-octyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate [omim][BF4] and 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium octylsulfate [bmim][C8OSO3] in ethylene glycol [HOCH2CH2OH] (EG) have been investigated over the whole composition range at T = (298.15 to 318.15) K. For the purpose, volumetric properties such as excess molar volumes, VmE, apparent molar volumes, V?,i, partial molar volumes, V¯m,i, excess partial molar volumes, V¯m,iE, and their limiting values at infinite dilution, V?,i, V¯m,i, and V¯m,iE, respectively have been calculated from the experimental density measurements. The VmE results have been analyzed using the Prigogine–Flory–Patterson (PFP) theory. PFP theory has satisfactorily explained the volumetric behaviour of the binary mixtures. Refractive index measurements at 298.15 K have been used to calculate the deviations in refractive indices Δ?n and the deviation of molar refraction ΔxR from their respective ideal values. Refractive index results have been correlated with volumetric results, and have been interpreted in terms of molecular interactions. Excess properties are fitted to the Redlich–Kister polynomial equation to obtain the binary coefficients and the standard errors.  相似文献

The viscosity B-coefficients of mono-, di-, tri-saccharides and the derivatives (methyl glycosides) in mB = (0.5, 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0) mol · kg−1 aqueous solutions of magnesium chloride have been determined from viscosity data using the Jones–Dole equation at T = (288.15, 298.15, 308.15, and 318.15) K. The viscosity B-coefficients of transfer (ΔtB), the temperature derivatives of B-coefficients (dB/dT), pair and triplet viscometric interaction coefficients (ηAB, ηABB) have been determined. The viscosity B-coefficients data of systems studied in water have been reported earlier. The results have been interpreted in light of the solute–solute and solute–solvent interactions occurring in these systems. The comparison of results has been made with those reported in the presence of potassium chloride, ammonium sulphate, and sodium sulphate.  相似文献

The partition coefficients of benzoic acid in solutions of two immiscible solvents, water and n-dodecane, were measured at temperatures of (293.15 and 298.15) K. The experimental results indicated that at both temperatures the partition coefficients were not constant, but showed linear dependences on the concentration of benzoic acid in water. Dimerization of benzoic acid in n-dodecane and ionization in water were assumed based on the chemical theory and the experimental results verified this assumption quite well. Accordingly the association equilibrium constants of benzoic acid in n-dodecane were obtained by a linear regression. The regression results also showed that there was a very strong dimerization of benzoic acid in n-dodecane over the temperatures and concentration range investigated.  相似文献

(Liquid + liquid) equilibrium (LLE) data for {water (1) + linalool (2) + limonene (3)} ternary system at T = (298.15, 308.15, and 318.15 ± 0.05) K are reported. The organic chemicals were quantified by gas chromatography using a flame ionisation detector while water was quantified using a thermal conductivity detector. The effect of the temperature on (liquid + liquid) equilibrium is determined and discussed. Experimental data for the ternary mixture are compared with values calculated by the NRTL and UNIQUAC equations, and predicted by means of the UNIFAC group contribution method. It is found that the UNIQUAC and NRTL models provide a good correlation of the solubility curve at these three temperatures, while comparing the calculated values with the experimental ones, the best fit is obtained with the NRTL model. Finally, the UNIFAC model provides poor results, since it predicts a greater heterogeneous region than experimentally observed.  相似文献

Density, sound velocity, and viscosity of 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide, [Emim][Br], in aqueous solutions of tri-potassium phosphate with salt weight fractions (ws = 0.00, 0.10, 0.15, and 0.20) have been measured as a function of concentration of [Emim][Br] at atmospheric pressure and T = (298.15, 303.15, 308.15, 313.15, and 318.15) K. The apparent molar volume, isentropic compressibility, apparent isentropic compressibility, and relative viscosity values have been evaluated from the experimental data. The partial molar volume and isentropic compressibility at infinite dilution, and viscosity B-coefficient obtained from these data have been used to calculate the corresponding transfer parameters for the studied IL from water to the aqueous tri-potassium phosphate solutions. Also, an empirical equation was satisfactorily used to correlate the experimental viscosity data.  相似文献

The densities of the binary mixtures formed by 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate [bmim][BF4] with aromatic compound (benzaldehyde) have been determined over the full range of compositions at the temperature range from (298.15 to 313.15) K and at atmospheric pressure using a vibrating-tube densimeter (DMA4500). Excess molar volumes (VmE) have been obtained from these experimental results, and been fitted by the fourth-order Redlich–Kister equation. In addition, partial molar volumes, apparent molar volumes, and partial molar volumes at infinite dilution have been calculated for each component. Our results show VmE decreases slightly when temperature increases in the systems studied. The results have been interpreted in terms of ion–dipole interactions and structural factors of the ionic liquid and these organic molecular liquids.  相似文献

Density (ρ), refractive index (nD) and speed of sound (u) values are measured for the binary mixture of 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate and N-octyl-2-pyrrolidone over the entire range of mole fraction at temperatures from T = (298.15 to 323.15) K under atmospheric pressure. Using the basic experimental data, various acoustic and excess thermodynamic parameters are calculated and are discussed in terms of molecular interactions between the present investigated binary system. The excess values are fitted to Redlich–Kister polynomial equation to estimate the binary coefficients and standard deviation between the experimental and calculated values. Further, the molecular interactions in the binary mixture system are analysed using the experimental FT-IR spectrum recorded at room temperature.  相似文献

Binary mutual diffusion coefficients (interdiffusion coefficients) of nickel chloride in water at T = 298.15 K and T = 310.15 K, and at concentrations between (0.000 and 0.100) mol · dm?3, using a Taylor dispersion method have been measured. These data are discussed on the basis of the Onsager–Fuoss and Pikal models. The equivalent conductance at infinitesimal concentration of the nickel ion in these solutions at T = 310.15 K has been estimated using these results. Through the same technique, ternary mutual diffusion coefficients (D11, D22, D12, and D21) for aqueous solutions containing NiCl2 and lactose, at T = 298.15 K and T = 310.15 K, and at different carrier concentrations were also measured. These data permit us to have a better understanding of the structure of these systems and the thermodynamic behaviour of NiCl2 in different media.  相似文献

Experimental results of density (ρ), speed of sound (u), and refractive index (nD) have been obtained for aqueous solutions of ethylene glycol monomethyl ether (EGMME), ethylene glycol monoethyl ether (EGMEE), diethylene glycol monomethyl ether (DEGMME), and diethylene glycol monoethyl ether (DEGMEE) over the entire concentration range at T = 298.15 K. From these measurements, the derived parameters, apparent molar volume of solute (?V), excess molar volume (VE), isentropic compressibility of solution (βS), apparent molar isentropic compressibility of solute (?KS), deviation in isentropic compressibility (ΔβS), molar refraction [R]1,2 and deviation in refractive index of solution (ΔnD) have been calculated. The Redlich–Kister equation has been fitted to the calculated values of VE, ΔβS and ΔnD for the solution. The results obtained are interpreted in terms of hydrogen bonding and various interactions among solute and solvent molecules.  相似文献

Taylor dispersion technique was used for measuring mutual diffusion coefficients of sodium alginate aqueous solutions at T = 298.15 K, by using as carrier stream solution both pure water and solutions of this polyelectrolyte at a slightly different concentration. The limiting values found at infinitesimal ionic strength, D0, were determined by extrapolating to c  0. These studies were complemented by molecular mechanics calculations. From the experimental data, it was possible to estimate both the limiting conductivity and the tracer diffusion coefficient values for the alginate anion, and the hydrodynamic radius of the sodium alginate (NaC6H7O6), as well as to discuss the influence of the kinetic, thermodynamic and viscosity factors on the diffusion of sodium alginate in aqueous solutions at finite concentrations. Thus, the aim of our innovative research is to contribute to a better understanding of the structure and the thermodynamic behavior of these polymeric systems in solution and supplying the scientific and technological communities with data on these important parameters in solution transport processes.  相似文献

Density and speed of sound measurements have been made on the systems containing the ionic liquid 1-n-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate ([BMIM][PF6]) and some organic solvents having a wide range of dielectric constants. Similar studies have been carried out for tetrabutylammonium hexafluorophosphate ([TBA][PF6]), which has common anion ([PF6]) with the studied ionic liquid. For the systems investigated, the apparent molar volumes and apparent molar isentropic compressibilities were determined and fitted to the Redlich–Mayer and the Pitzer equations from which the corresponding limiting values were obtained. These limiting values were used to obtain some information about ion–solvent interactions. Furthermore, using the ionic limiting apparent volume values for [TBA]+ from the literature and limiting apparent molar volume for the ionic liquid and [TBA][PF6] obtained in this work, the ionic limiting apparent molar volume values for the cation [BMIM]+ in different organic solvents were also estimated.  相似文献

Experimental values of density, viscosity, and refractive index at T = (298.15, 303.15, and 308.15) K while the speed of sound at T = 298.15 K in the binary mixtures of methylcyclohexane with n-hexane, n-heptane, n-octane, n-nonane, n-decane, n-dodecane, and iso-octane are presented over the entire mole fraction range of the binary mixtures. Using these data, excess molar volume, deviations in viscosity, molar refraction, speed of sound, and isentropic compressibility are calculated. All the computed quantities are fitted to Redlich and Kister equation to derive the coefficients and estimate the standard error values. Such a study on model calculations in addition to presentation of experimental data on binary mixtures are useful to understand the mixing behaviour of liquids in terms of molecular interactions and orientational order–disorder effects.  相似文献

In this paper, the separation of toluene from aliphatic hydrocarbons (heptane, or octane, or nonane) was analyzed by solvent extraction with 1-ethyl-3-methylpyridinium ethylsulfate ionic liquid, [EMpy][ESO4]. Liquid?liquid equilibrium (LLE) data for the ternary systems {heptane (1) + toluene (2) + [EMpy][ESO4] (3)}, {octane (1) + toluene (2) + [EMpy][ESO4] (3)}, and {nonane (1) + toluene (2) + [EMpy][ESO4] (3)} were obtained by measurements at T = 298.15 K and atmospheric pressure. The selectivity, % removal of aromatic, and solute distribution ratio, obtained from experimental equilibrium results, were used to determine the ability of [EMpy][ESO4] as a solvent. The degree of consistency of the experimental LLE values was ascertained using the Othmer–Tobias and Hand equations. The experimental results for the ternary systems were correlated with the NRTL model. Finally, the results obtained were compared with other ionic liquids and other solvents.  相似文献

(Liquid + liquid) equilibrium (LLE) data for {water + acrylic acid + (1-butanol, or 2-butanol, or 1-pentanol)} at T = 293.2 K, T = 303.2 K, and T = 313.2 K and atmospheric pressure (≈95 kPa) were determined by Karl Fischer titration and densimetry. All systems present type I binodal curves. The size of immiscibility region changes little with an increase in temperature, but increases according to the solvent, following the order: 2-butanol < 1-butanol < 1-pentanol. Values of solute distribution and solvent selectivities show that 1-pentanol is a better solvent than 1-butanol or 2-butanol for acrylic acid removal from water solutions. Quality of data was ascertain by Hand and Othmer-Tobias equations, giving R2 > 0.916, mass balance and accordance between tie lines and cloud points. The NRTL model was used to correlate experimental data, by estimating new energy parameters, with root mean square deviations below 0.0053 for all systems.  相似文献

Excess enthalpies for binary mixtures (S-fenchone + ethanol/benzene/cyclohexane/carbon tetrachloride) were measured over the whole concentration at T = 298.15 K. The experimental results were compared with the values obtained from the UNIFAC, COSMO-RS and regular solution theory. Excess enthalpies of binary mixtures of R-fenchone and S-fenchone in ethanol, benzene, and cyclohexane solution at different specified mole fractions of fenchone have been measured under the same conditions. With the decreasing of the specified mole fraction of fenchone in different solutions, the excess enthalpies of mixing of chiral orientated solutions increased and became close to zero. Results were compared with those of chiral limonene in ethanol solution. Pair interaction energies were also investigated.  相似文献
