The stability of the plane oscillations of a satellite about the centre of mass in a central Newtonian gravitational field is investigated. The orbit of the centre of mass is circular and the principal central moments of inertia of the satellite are different. In unperturbed motion, one of the axes of inertia is perpendicular to the plane of the orbit, while the satellite performs periodic oscillations about a direction fixed in absolute space. The problem of the stability of these oscillations with respect to plane and spatial perturbations is investigated.  相似文献

The motion of a satellite about its centre of mass in a central Newtonian gravitational field is investigated. The satellite is considered to be a dynamically symmetrical rigid body. It is assumed that the ratio of the polar and equatorial principal central moments of inertia of the satellite is 4/3, or close to this. The orbit of the centre of mass is elliptic, and the orbit eccentricity is assumed to be small. In the limit case, when the orbit of the centre of mass is circular, a steady motion exists (corresponding to relative equilibrium of the satellite in the orbital system of coordinates) in which the axis of dynamic symmetry is directed along the velocity vector of the centre of mass of the satellite; here, the frequencies of the small linear oscillations of the axis of symmetry are equal or close to one another. But in an elliptic orbit of small eccentricity, multiple 1:1:1 resonance occurs in this case, as the oscillation frequencies mentioned are equal or close to the frequency of motion of the centre of mass of the satellite in orbit. The non-linear problem of the existence, bifurcations and stability of periodic motions of the satellite with a period equal to the rotation period of its centre of mass in orbit is investigated.  相似文献

The non-linear oscillations of an autonomous two-degree-of-freedom Hamiltonian system in the neighbourhood of its stable equilibrium position are considered. It is assumed that the Hamilton function is sign-definite in the neighbourhood of the equilibrium position and that the values of the frequencies of its linear oscillations are equal or close to one another (1:1 resonance). The investigation is carried out using the example of the problem of the motion of a dynamically symmetrical rigid body (satellite) about its centre of mass in a circular orbit in a central Newtonian gravitational field. In this problem there is relative equilibrium of the rigid body in the orbital system of coordinates, for which its axis of dynamic symmetry is directed along the velocity vector of the centre of mass. Resonance occurs when the ratio of the polar and equatorial principal central moments of inertia is equal to 4/3 or is close to it. The problem of the existence, bifurcation and orbital stability of the periodic motions of a rigid body generated from its relative equilibrium is solved. Some aspects of the existence of quasiperiodic motions are also considered.  相似文献

The problem of the motion of a rigid body possessing a plane of symmetry over the surface of a three-dimensional sphere under the action of a spherical analogue of Newtonian gravitation forces is considered. Approaches to introducing spherical analogues of the concepts of centre of mass and centre of gravity are discussed. The spherical analogue of “satellite approach” in the problem of the motion of a rigid body in a central field, which arises on the assumption that the dimensions of the body are small compared with the distance to the gravitating centre, is studied. Within the framework of satellite approach, assuming plane motion of the body, the question of the existence and stability of steady motions is investigated. A spherical analogue of the equation of the plane oscillations of a body in an elliptic orbit is derived.  相似文献

A holonomic mechanical system with variable masses and cyclic coordinates is considered. Such a system can have generalized steady motions in which the positional coordinates are constant and the cyclic velocities under the action of reactive forces vary according to a given law. Sufficient Routh-Rumyantsev-type conditions for the stability of such motions are determined. The problem of stabilizing a given translational-rotational motion of a symmetric satellite in which its centre of mass moves in a circular orbit and the satellite executes rotational motion about its axis of symmetry is solved.  相似文献

We examine the motions of an autonomous Hamiltonian system with two degrees of freedom in a neighborhood of an equilibrium point at a 1:1 resonance. It is assumed that the matrix of linearized equations of perturbed motion is reduced to diagonal form and the equilibrium is linearly stable. As an illustration, we consider the problem of the motion of a dynamically symmetric rigid body (satellite) relative to its center of mass in a central Newtonian gravitational field on a circular orbit in a neighborhood of cylindrical precession. The abovementioned resonance case takes place for parameter values corresponding to the spherical symmetry of the body, for which the angular velocity of proper rotation has the same value and direction as the angular velocity of orbital motion of the radius vector of the center of mass. For parameter values close to the resonance point, the problem of the existence, bifurcations and orbital stability of periodic rigid body motions arising from a corresponding relative equilibrium of the reduced system is solved and issues concerning the existence of conditionally periodic motions are discussed.  相似文献

The stability of motion of a dynamically symmetric satellite with respect to its center of mass in a central Newtonian gravitational field is investigated. The satellite is a solid body whose center of mass moves on an elliptic orbit. The particular case in which the satellite axis of symmetry is normal to the orbit plane (the so-called cylindrical precession [1, 2]) and its absolute angular velocity projection on the axis of symmetry is zero, is examined. Analytical and numerical methods are used. Regions of Liapunov instability and of stability in the first approximation are. obtained in the parameter space of the problem (the inertial parameter and the orbit eccentricity). Detailed nonlinear analysis is carried out in the latter, and the formal stability of the satellite cylindrical precession is proved. The question of stability for the majority of intial conditions is also considered [4].  相似文献

The problem of the translational-rotational motion of a rigid body with a triaxial ellipsoid of inertia in a central gravitational field is considered. The body is modelled by a weightless sphere, at the ends of the three mutually perpendicular diameters of which there are point masses. It is shown that, unlike the cases when the approximate expression for the potential of the gravity forces is used, there are not only “trivial” steady motions of the body, for which the main central axes of inertia of the body coincide with the axes of the orbital system of coordinates, but also other classes of steady motions. In addition, the stability of these “trivial” steady motions is investigated, and the possibility of secular stability of the motions, unstable in the satellite approximation, is pointed out.  相似文献

The problem of the existence, branching and stability of the steady motions of a system of two elastically coupled bodies in a central gravitational field is considered. Each body is simulated by a weightless rod with point masses at opposite ends. It is assumed that the rods are essentially attached at their mass centres, and the composite body is moving in a plane containing the attracting centre. Both trivial and non-trivial steady motions are studied, on the assumption that none of the principal axes of inertia of the body coincides with the radius vector of the centre of mass or with a tangent to the orbit; it is also assumed that the rods are not orthogonal to one another. The stability of all steady motions is fully investigated and an atlas of bifurcation diagrams presented.  相似文献

The stability in the first approximation of the rotation of a satellite about a centre of mass is investigated. In the unperturbed motion the satellite performs, in absolute space, three rotations around the normal to the orbital plane in a time equal to two periods of rotation of its centre of mass in the orbit (Mercury-type rotation). Three cases of such rotations are considered: the rotations of a dynamically symmetrical satellite and a satellite, the central ellipsoid of inertia of which is close to a sphere, in an elliptic orbit of arbitrary eccentricity, and the rotation of a satellite with three different principal central moments of inertia in a circular orbit.  相似文献

The problem of the motion of a gyroscope in a central force field is considered. It is assumed that the principal central moments of inertia of the gyrostat are equal to one another, while the centre of mass moves in a circular orbit in a plane passing through the attracting centre. The steady motions of the gyrostat and their stability are investigated. The case when the mass distribution allows of the symmetry group of a tetrahedron is considered as an example.  相似文献

A satellite in the form of a system of bodies that does not have the property of a gyrostat in the general case is considered. An algorithm for determining all the equilibrium configurations of the system that correspond to steady motions in a central gravitational field and an algorithm for analysing their stability are given. A method based on Routh's first theorem is used to investigate the asymptotic stability of the steady motions in the unconstrained problem. Three effects caused by internal dissipation are established in a model example: stabilization of the satellites in a neighbourhood of rotations about a normal to the orbital plane, which is codirectional with the axis of the largest moment of inertia, evolution of elliptic orbits into circular orbits, and capture of the satellites in resonant oscillatory modes of motion.  相似文献

For a satellite, carrying an arbitrary number of three-degree-of-freedom powered gyroscopes, the whole set of equilibrium positions in a central gravitational field in a circular orbit is determined and a detailed analysis of their secular stability is presented. The asymptotic properties of the satellite motions when there is dissipation in the axes of the gyroscope frames are investigated.  相似文献

The orbital motion of a gyrostat whose mass distribution admits of the symmetry group of a regular tetrahedron is examined. The equations of motion and their first integrals are presented. The order of the equations of motion is reduced using a Routh–Lyapunov approach. The reduced potential and the equations for its critical points are presented. Some solutions of these equations are indicated, and a mechanical interpretation of the steady motions corresponding to them is given. Equations of motion similar to the well known equations of relative motion of a gyrostat in an elliptical orbit in the satellite approximation are derived assuming that the dimensions of the body are small compared with its distance from the attracting centre. A three-dimensional analogue of Beletskii's equation that relies on the use of the true anomaly as the independent variable is presented. Three classes of steady configurations are determined by Routh's method in the case of a circular orbit, and the conditions for their stability are investigated.  相似文献

A theory of the symmetric periodic motions (SPMs) of a reversible second-order system is presented which covers both oscillations and rotations. The structural stability property of the generating autonomous reversible system, which lies in the fact that the presence or absence of SPMs in a perturbed system is independent of the actual form of the “reversible” perturbations, is established. Both the case of the generation of SPMs from the family of SPMs of the generating system and birth cycle from the equilibrium state are investigated. Criteria of Lyapunov stability in a non-degenerate situation are obtained for the SPMs which are generated (in case of small values of the parameter). A method is proposed for constructing and investigating the Lyapunov stability of all the SPMs. The conditions for the existence of a cycle (symmetric and asymmetric) in the neighbourhood of a support “almost” resonance SPM are established for all cases of resonances. The theoretical results are applied to a study of the motion of a particle along a straight line which passes through the centre of mass of the system perpendicular to the plane of the identical attracting and simultaneously radiating main bodies (an extension of the Sitnikov problem) in the photogravitational version of the three-body problem. The circular problem is analysed and two different series of families of SPMs are found in the weakly elliptic problem. The instability of the equilibrium state is proved in the case of parametric resonance and the stability (and instability) domains are distinguished for arbitrary values of the eccentricity. All the SPMs with a period of 2π are constructed and the property of Lyapunov stability is investigated for these motions.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the applied problem of choosing long-living orbits of artificial Earth satellites whose evolution under the influence of gravitational perturbation from the Moon and the Sun may result in the collision of the satellite with the central body, as was shown by M.L. Lidov for the well-known example of “Vertical Moon.” We use solutions of the completely integrable system of evolution equations obtained by Lidov in 1961 by averaging twice the spatial circular restricted three-body problem in the Hill approximation. In order to apply the integrability of this problem in practice, we study the foliation of the manifold of levels of first integrals and the change of motion under crossing the bifurcation manifolds separating the foliated cells. As a result, we describe the manifold of initial conditions under which the orbit evolution leads to an inevitable collision of the satellite with the central body. We also find a lower bound for the practical applicability of the results, which is determined by the presence of gravitational perturbations caused by a polar flattening of the central body.  相似文献

The motion about a centre of mass of a rigid body with a tethered system, designed to launch a re-entry capsule from a circular orbit is considered. In the deployment of the tethered system the direction and value of the tensile strength of the tether vary and, if the point of application of the tensile strength does not coincide with the centre of mass of the body, a moment occurs which leads to oscillations of the body with variable amplitude and frequency. A non-linear equation of the perturbed motion of the body about the centre of mass under the action of the tensile force of the tether and the gravitational moment is derived. Assuming that the change in the value and direction of the tensile force is slow and also that the gravitational moment is small, approximate and exact solutions of the non-linear differential equation of the unperturbed motion are obtained in terms of elementary functions and elliptic Jacobi functions. For perturbed motion, the action integral is expressed in terms of complete elliptic integrals of the first and second kind.  相似文献

Parts of the asymptotic stability boundaries of the uniform motion of the centre of mass of a system of bodies consisting of an asymmetrical satellite with a three-axis gyroscope in a circular orbit are investigated by the second Lyapunov method. Terms of the Lyapunov function that are higher than the second order are enlisted for the investigation. The sign-definiteness criterion of inhomogeneous forms is employed for the corresponding function. Parts of the stability boundaries in which the steady motion investigated is asymptotically stable are established using the Lyapunov asymptotic stability theorem. Application of the Barbashin and Krasovskii theorems reveals parts of the stability boundaries in which the steady motion is unstable. It is established that the asymptotic stability of the steady motion investigated is solved by expanding the Lyapunov function to sixth-order terms.  相似文献
