Density, speed of sound and viscosity measurements of binary aqueous solutions of tri-potassium citrate were performed from dilute up to near saturated concentration range at T = (293.15, 298.15, 303.15, 308.15, and 313.15) K. Volumetric and transport properties of ternary aqueous solutions of (tri-potassium citrate + KCl) have also been measured within the molality range of KCl (0.05, 0.15, 0.25, 0.35, 0.45, and 0.55) at different temperatures. Apparent molar volume and apparent molar isentropic compressibility have been calculated from the density and speed of sound for binary and ternary aqueous solutions of tri-potassium citrate. Apparent molar volume and apparent molar isentropic compressibility of ternary aqueous solutions of (tri-potassium citrate + KCl) have been correlated with the Redlich–Mayer equation. Viscosity values of ternary aqueous solutions of (tri-potassium citrate + KCl) have been fitted with the Jones–Dole equation. The results obtained have been interpreted in elucidating the effect of tri-potassium citrate on the interaction of KCl–H2O. Density and viscosity values of ternary aqueous solutions of (tri-potassium citrate + KCl) have been predicted successfully using the methods proposed by Laliberte (2007), Laliberte and Cooper (2004) [9], [10] and Zafarani-Moattar and Majdan-Cegincara (2009) [11].  相似文献

Electrochemical cells with two ion-selective electrodes, a cation ion-selective electrode against an anion ion-selective electrode, were used to measure the activity coefficient of amino acids in aqueous electrolyte solutions. Activity coefficient data were measured for (H2O + NaBr + glycine) and (H2O + NaBr + l-valine) at T=298.15 K. The maximum concentrations of sodium bromide, glycine, and l-valine were (1.0, 2.4, and 0.4) mol · kg−1, respectively. The results show that the presence of an electrolyte and the nature of both the cation and the anion of the electrolyte have significant effects on the activity coefficients of amino acid in aqueous electrolyte solutions.  相似文献

Apparent molar volume (V2,ϕ) and apparent molar isentropic compressibility (Ks,2,ϕ) of diclofenac sodium salt (DSS) drug within the concentration range of (0.001 to 0.008) mol · kg−1 in (0.01, 0.03 and 0.05) mol · kg−1 aqueous glycine and l-proline solutions are computed from the experimental density (ρ) and speed of sound (u) values at T = (293.15 to 313.15) K and atmospheric pressure. Derived parameters such as partial molar properties, transfer partial molar properties, hydration numbers and Hepler’s constant are computed from the data of V2,ϕ and Ks,2,ϕ. These parameters have been used to understand the effect of temperature on interactions between DSS drug and aqueous glycine/l-proline solution. Furthermore, the structure making and breaking ability of DSS drug in probed solutions are analysed at experimental conditions.  相似文献

Densities of amino acids in aqueous and in aqueous electrolyte solutions have been measured by a high precision vibrating tube digital densitometer at T = 298.15 K under atmospheric pressure. The investigated systems contained amino acids of zwitterionic glycine peptides: glycine (Gly), diglycine (Gly2), triglycine (Gly3), and tetraglycine (Gly4) and cyclic glycylglycine (c(GG)) with electrolytes of potassium chloride (KCl), potassium bromide (KBr) and potassium acetate (KAc). In this series of measurements, the aqueous samples were prepared with various concentrations of the amino acids, up to saturated conditions, and over salt concentrations from 1 to 4 M. The density increments resulting from the addition of the different model compounds of amino acids and the ionic salts were investigated, respectively. An empirical linear combination equation with an augmented term to account the interactions between amino acid and ionic salt was used to quantitatively correlate the experimental densities over the entire concentration ranges.  相似文献

The Jones–Dole viscosity B-coefficients for various mono-, di-, and tri-saccharides in water and in (0.5, 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0) mol · kg?1 aqueous solutions of sodium acetate have been determined at different temperatures, T = (288.15, 298.15, 308.15, and 318.15) K from viscosity data. Densities used to determine viscosities have been reported earlier. The viscosity B-coefficients of transfer, ΔtB, has been estimated for the transfer of saccharides from water to aqueous sodium acetate solutions. The positive ΔtB values were obtained in all cases and their magnitudes increase with the increase in concentration of sodium acetate. Pair, ηAB and higher order, ηABB viscometric interaction coefficients (using McMillan–Mayer theory), and dB/dT coefficients have also been determined. Activation Gibbs free energies and other related thermodynamic activation parameters of viscous flow have been determined using Feakin’s transition-state theory. These parameters have been discussed in terms of solute–solute and solute–solvent interactions occurring in these solutions.  相似文献

The mixing enthalpies of N,N′-hexamethylenebisacetamide (HMBA) and N-methylformamide (NMF) with glycine, l-alanine, l-serine, and l-valine in aqueous sucrose solutions have been determined by using mixing-flow isothermal microcalorimetry at the temperature of 298.15 K along with their dilution enthalpies, respectively. Based on the obtained results, the heterotactic enthalpic interaction coefficients (hxy, hxxy, and hxyy) have been obtained according to McMillan–Mayer’s theory with the sucrose molality from 0 to 1.5 mol · kg−1. The fitted results indicate that the values of hxy between HMBA or NMF and the four investigated amino acids in aqueous sucrose solutions are all positive. Meanwhile, the values of hxy reach the corresponding maximum at different sucrose molalities except that the values of hxy between NMF and glycine decrease monotonically with the increasing molality of sucrose. Furthermore, the order for the value of hxy of the four amino acids with HMBA or NMF are hxy (l-valine) > hxy (l-alanine) > hxy (l-serine) > hxy (glycine) in pure water or in aqueous solution with the same molality of sucrose. The values of hxy between HMBA and the four amino acids are much larger than that between NMF and the same amino acids with the same molality of sucrose. All the variations of the heterotactic enthalpic pairwise interaction coefficients in the quaternary systems can be interpreted with the help of the solute–solute and solute–solvent interactions theory.  相似文献

This work reports individual activity coefficients of ions at T = 298.15 K in aqueous solutions obtained from voltage values of the respective half-cell ion-selective-electrode and a single-junction Ag–AgCl reference electrode, filled with different reference solutions at different concentrations. For potassium and chloride ions in KCl aqueous solutions, reference solutions of KCl, NaCl, or CsCl were used. For sodium and chloride ions in aqueous NaCl solutions, reference solutions of CsCl were used. Experimental runs were performed at molalities (1, 2, and 3) m of the reference solution. The concentration of the sample solution was increased, starting from around 1 · 10?3 m, up to the molality of the reference solution. The values of activity coefficients are calculated using the Henderson equation to estimate the liquid-junction potential. Results show that the ionic activity coefficients are independent of the nature and concentration of reference solution.  相似文献

A complete critical evaluation of all available phase diagram and thermodynamic data has been performed for all condensed phases of the (NaNO3 + KNO3 + Na2SO4 + K2SO4) ternary reciprocal system, and optimised model parameters have been found. The model parameters obtained for the four binary common-ion subsystems (i.e. (NaNO3 + Na2SO4), (KNO3 + K2SO4), (NaNO3 + KNO3) and (Na2SO4 + K2SO4)) are used to predict thermodynamic properties and phase equilibria for the entire system. The Modified Quasichemical Model in the Quadruplet Approximation for short-range ordering was used for the molten salt phase, and the Compound Energy Formalism was used for the various solid solutions.  相似文献

The apparent molar volumes and isentropic compressibility of glycine, l-alanine and l-serine in water and in aqueous solutions of (0.500 and 1.00) mol · kg?1 di-ammonium hydrogen citrate {(NH4)2HCit} and those of (NH4)2HCit in water have been obtained over the (288.15 to 313.15) K temperature range at 5 K intervals at atmospheric pressure from measurements of density and ultrasonic velocity. The apparent molar volume and isentropic compressibility values at infinite dilution of the investigated amino acids have been obtained and their variations with temperature and their transfer properties from water to aqueous solutions of (NH4)2HCit have also been obtained. The results have been interpreted in terms of the hydration of the amino acids. In the second part of this work, water activity measurements by the isopiestic method have been carried out on the aqueous solutions of {glycine + (NH4)2HCit}, {alanine + (NH4)2HCit}, and {serine + (NH4)2HCit} at T = 298.15 K at atmospheric pressure. From these measurements, values of vapour pressure, osmotic coefficient, activity coefficient and Gibbs free energy were obtained. The effect of the type of amino acids on the (vapour + liquid) equilibrium of the systems investigated has been studied. The experimental water activities have been correlated successfully with the segment-based local composition Wilson model. Furthermore, the thermodynamic behaviour of the ternary solutions investigated has been studied by using the semi-ideal hydration model and the linear concentration relations have been tested by comparing with the isopiestic measurements for the studied systems at T = 298.15 K.  相似文献

Solubility-temperature dependence data for six phenolic compounds (PhC), contained in olive mill wastewater (OMWW), in water and in some chloride salts (KCl, NaCl, and LiCl) aqueous solutions have been presented and solution standard molar enthalpies (ΔsolH) were determined using Van’t Hoff plots. The temperature was varied from 293.15 K to 318.15 K. Solubility data were estimated using a thermostated reactor and HPLC analysis. It has been observed that solubility, in pure water and in aqueous chloride solutions, increases with increasing temperature. The salting-out LiCl > NaCl > KCl order obtained at 298.15 K is confirmed. Results were interpreted in terms of the salt hydration shells and the ability of the solute to form hydrogen-bond with water. The standard molar Gibbs free energies of transfer of PhC (ΔtrG) from pure water to aqueous solutions of the chloride salts have been calculated from the solubility data. In order to estimate the contribution of enthalpic and entropic terms, standard molar enthalpies (ΔtrH) and entropies (ΔtrS) of transfer have also been calculated. The decrease in solubility is correlated to the positive ΔtrG value which is mainly of enthalpic origin.  相似文献

The purpose of this study is to present a model for the prediction of water activity in multicomponent aqueous solutions containing a common ion from available binary data. The hygrometric method has been used to measure relative humidities for the aqueous electrolyte mixture (NaCl  +  KCl)(aq) at total molalities ranging from 0.2 mol · kg  1to saturation for different molal ratiosr of NaCl(aq) to KCl(aq) with r =  (0.2, 0.5, 1, 2, 3, and 4) at T =  298.15 K. The data obtained have been used to determine water activities and osmotic coefficients. The results show that the values of water activities and osmotic coefficients calculated with the proposed model are close to the experimental ones. This model is also compared with four other models (RS, Pitzer, RWR, and LS II) over the range of the studied total molalities. From the measurements, the activity coefficients of NaCl(aq) and KCl(aq) in the mixture have also been determined.  相似文献

The alkyl chain length of 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide ([Rmim][Br], R = propyl (C3), hexyl (C6), heptyl (C7), and octyl (C8)) was varied to prepare a series of room-temperature ionic liquids (RTILs), and experimental measurements of density and speed of sound at different temperatures ranging from (288.15 to 308.15) K for their aqueous and methanolic solutions in the dilute concentration region (0.01 to 0.30) mol · kg?1 were taken. The values of the compressibilities, expansivity and apparent molar properties for [Cnmim][Br] in aqueous and methanolic solutions were determined at the investigated temperatures. The obtained apparent molar volumes and apparent molar isentropic compressibilities were fitted to the Redlich–Mayer and the Pitzer’s equations from which the corresponding infinite dilution molar properties were obtained. The values of the infinite dilution molar properties were used to obtain some information about solute–solvent and solute–solute interactions. The thermodynamic properties of investigated ionic liquids in aqueous solutions have been compared with those in methanolic solutions. Also, the comparison between thermodynamic properties of investigated solutions and those of electrolyte solutions, polymer solutions, cationic surfactant solutions and tetraalkylammonium salt solutions have been made.  相似文献

Density, sound velocity, and viscosity of 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide, [Emim][Br], in aqueous solutions of tri-potassium phosphate with salt weight fractions (ws = 0.00, 0.10, 0.15, and 0.20) have been measured as a function of concentration of [Emim][Br] at atmospheric pressure and T = (298.15, 303.15, 308.15, 313.15, and 318.15) K. The apparent molar volume, isentropic compressibility, apparent isentropic compressibility, and relative viscosity values have been evaluated from the experimental data. The partial molar volume and isentropic compressibility at infinite dilution, and viscosity B-coefficient obtained from these data have been used to calculate the corresponding transfer parameters for the studied IL from water to the aqueous tri-potassium phosphate solutions. Also, an empirical equation was satisfactorily used to correlate the experimental viscosity data.  相似文献

A glassy carbon electrode (GCE) modified with internal-electrolysis deposited gold nanoparticles (AuNPsied) was applied to sensitively and selectively detect As(III) by anodic stripping linear sweep voltammetry (ASLSV). The AuNPsied/GCE was prepared based on the redox replacement reaction between a supporting-electrolyte-free aqueous HAuCl4 and a copper sheet in saturated KCl separated by a salt bridge. Under optimum conditions (0.5 M aqueous H2SO4, 300-s preconcentration at − 0.4 V), the ASLSV peak current for the As(0)–As(III) oxidation responded linearly to As(III) concentration from 0.02 to 3 μM with a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.9 nM (0.07 μg L 1) (S/N = 3), while that for the As(III)–As(V) oxidation was linear with As(III) concentration from 0.02 to 1 μM with a LOD of 4 nM (0.3 μg L 1) (S/N = 3). An appropriate high-scan-rate for ASLSV can enhance both the sensitivity and signal-to-noise ratio. This method was applied for analyses of As(III) in real water samples.  相似文献

The viscosities, η of mono-, di-, tri-saccharides and methylglycosides, viz., d(+)-xylose (XYL), d(?)-arabinose (ARA), d(?)-ribose (RIB), d(?)-fructose (FRU), d(+)-galactose (GAL), d(+)-mannose (MAN), d(+)-glucose (GLU), d(+)-melibiose (MEL), d(+)-cellobiose (CEL), d(+)-lactose monohydrate (LAC), d(+)-maltose monohydrate (MAL), d(+)-trehalose dihydrate (TRE), sucrose (SUC), d(+)-raffinose pentahydrate (RAF), α-methyl-d(+)-glucoside (α-Me-GLU), methyl-α-d-xylopyranoside (Me-α-XYL), and methyl-β-d-xylopyranoside (Me-β-XYL) in water and in (0.5, 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0) mol · kg?1 aqueous solutions of potassium chloride (KCl) have been determined at T = (288.15, 298.15, 308.15, and 318.15) K from efflux time measurements by using a capillary viscometer. Densities used to determine viscosities have been reported earlier. The viscosity data have been utilized to determine the viscosity B-coefficients employing the Jones–Dole equation at different temperatures. From these data, the viscosity B-coefficients of transfer, ΔtB have been estimated for the transfer of various saccharides/methylglycosides from water to aqueous potassium chloride solutions. The ΔtB values have been found to be positive, whose magnitude increases with the increase in concentration of potassium chloride in all cases. The dB/dT coefficients, pair, ηAB and triplet, ηABB viscometric interaction coefficients have also been determined. Gibbs free energies of activation and related thermodynamic parameters of activation of viscous flow have been determined employing Feakin’s transition-state theory. The signs and magnitudes of various parameters have been discussed in terms of solute–solute and solute–solvent interactions occurring in these solutions. The effect of substitution of –OH by methoxy group, –OCH3 has also been discussed.  相似文献

Water activities of aqueous electrolyte solutions of HCl(aq), LiCl(aq), NaCl(aq), KCl(aq), CsCl(aq), NH4Cl(aq), MgCl2(aq), CaCl2(aq), and BaCl2(aq) have been determined at T =  298.15 K by the hygrometric method, and at molalities ranging from 0.2 mol · kg  1to saturation. From measurements of droplets diameters of reference NaCl(aq) or LiCl(aq), the dependence of relative humidity on solute concentration was determined. The data on the relative humidities allow the deduction of water activities and the osmotic coefficients at different molalities. Osmotic coefficient data have been described by the ion interaction model of Pitzer. The ion interaction parameters were also determined for each of the studied salts. With these parameters, the solute activity coefficients can be predicted. Our present results have been compared with reported thermodynamic data.  相似文献

(Vapour + liquid) equilibrium data (water activity, vapour pressure, osmotic coefficient, and activity coefficient) of binary aqueous solutions of 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride ([C6mim][Cl]), methyl potassium malonate, and ethyl potassium malonate and ternary {[C6mim][Cl] + methyl potassium malonate} and {[C6mim][Cl] + ethyl potassium malonate} aqueous solutions were obtained through the isopiestic method at T = 298.15 K. These results reveal that the ionic liquid behaves as surfactant-like and aggregates in aqueous solutions at molality about 0.4 mol · kg−1. The constant water activity lines of all the ternary systems investigated show small negative deviations from the linear isopiestic relation (Zdanovskii–Stokes–Robinson rule) derived using the semi-ideal hydration model. The density and speed of sound measurements were carried out on solutions of methyl potassium malonate and ethyl potassium malonate in water and of [C6mim][Cl] in aqueous solutions of 0.25 mol · kg−1 methyl potassium malonate and ethyl potassium malonate at T = (288.15 to 308.15) K at atmospheric pressure. From the experimental density and speed of sound data, the values of the apparent molar volume, apparent molar isentropic compressibility and excess molar volume were evaluated and from which the infinite dilution apparent molar volume and infinite dilution apparent molar isentropic compressibility were calculated at each temperature. Although, there are no clear differences between the values of the apparent molar volume of [C6mim][Cl] in pure water and in methyl potassium malonate or ethyl potassium malonate aqueous solutions, however, the results show a positive transfer isentropic compressibility of [C6mim][Cl] from pure water to the methyl potassium malonate or ethyl potassium malonate aqueous solutions. The results have been interpreted in terms of the solute–water and solute–solute interactions.  相似文献

Equilibrium studies have been carried out on complex formation of M(II) (M = Co(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II)) with tricine (Tn) and L = amino acids in aqueous solution, at 25 °C and ionic strength of I = 0.1 M (NaNO3). The ternary complexes of amino acids are formed by simultaneous reactions. The concentration distribution of the complexes is evaluated. The solid complexes of [M(II)–Tn–Histidine (Hist)] have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, infrared, magnetic and conductance measurements. The synthesized complexes have been screened for their antibacterial activities and the complexes show a significant antibacterial activity against four bacterial species: Staphylococcus aureus (Gram +ve), Streptococcus pyogenesr (Gram +ve), Serratia marcescens (Gram −ve) and Escherichia coli (Gram −ve). The activity increases by increasing the concentration of the complexes.  相似文献

Amino acid ionic liquids (AAILs) have huge potential in the field of protein chemistry, enzymatic reactions, templates for synthetic study etc. which is due to their distinctive properties like unique acid-base characteristics, tunable hydrophobicity, hydrogen bonding ability and strong hydration effects. To explore the field of bio-ionic liquids for its real life applications and sustainable technology development, it is essential to have better understanding of these newly researched liquid salts in life’s most chosen medium, i.e. in aqueous medium, through study of their physicochemical properties in aqueous solutions. In this context, we are reporting herewith measurements and analysis of volumetric properties in the temperature range of (293.15 to 313.25) K and acoustic properties at 298.15 K in the concentration range of (0.05 to 0.5) mol · kg−1 for aqueous solutions of 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium [Bmim] based amino acid ionic liquids, prepared from glycine, l-alanine, l-valine, l-leucine and l-isoleucine. The experimental density and sound speed data were used to obtain apparent, partial and limiting molar volumes as well as isentropic and isothermal compressibility properties. These data have been further used to understand electrostriction as well as concentration dependence of internal pressure. The hydration numbers for AAILs in aqueous medium were estimated from compressibility data using Passynski method and the estimated ionic hydration numbers are compared with those obtained using activity data. The results are explained in terms of cooperative hydration effects, hydrophobic interactions, kosmotropic behavior of AAILs, etc.  相似文献

Ternary mutual diffusion coefficients measured by Taylor dispersion method (D11, D22, D12, and D21) are reported for aqueous solutions of KCl + theophylline (THP) at T = 298.15 K at carrier concentrations from (0.000 to 0.010) mol · dm?3, for each solute. These diffusion coefficients have been measured having in mind a better understanding of the structure of these systems and the thermodynamic behavior of potassium chloride and theophylline in solution. For example, from these data it will be possible to make conclusions about the influence of this electrolyte in diffusion of THP and to estimate some parameters, such as the diffusion coefficient of the aggregate between KCl and THP.  相似文献
