Coordination polymers of Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), and Cd(II) with the salen-type Schiff base 4,4′-bis[(N-ethanesalicylaldehydediamine-5)azo]biphenyl have been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, IR and electronic spectra, magnetic susceptibility measurements, and thermogravimetric analysis. Thermogravimetric analysis confirms the coordination of H2O in complexes. The 1H NMR spectrum of ligand clearly indicates the presence of OH and azomethine groups. The octahedral geometry have been suggested for Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II), and Ni(II) complexes, and square planar Cu((II), whereas tetrahedral is suggested for Zn(II) and Cd(II) polychelates. Thermal data have been analyzed for kinetic parameters by both Coat-Redfern and Broido methods. Solid-state dc conductivity of ligand and its polychelates was measured in their compressed pellet form over 313–413 K temperature range. Solidstate conductivity lies in the range 4.361 × 10−11 to 7.241 × 10−10 Ohm−1 cm−1 indicating their semiconducting behavior. Oxidation of styrene with selected catalysts was tested using H2O2 as an oxidant.  相似文献

Abstract

This article proposes a simple and fast method of In(III) determination in the presence of Cd(II) and Pb(II). The catalytic activity of N-methylthiourea was used in the In(III) electroreduction, which also had a slight effect on the electroreduction process of Cd(II) and Pb(II). By applying square wave voltammetry it was possible to determine 3 × 10−7 mol dm−3 In(III) in the presence of 5 × 10−5 mol dm−3 Cd(II) and 1 × 10−4 mol dm−3 Pb(II) in 5 mol dm−3 NaClO4 at pH 2. The calibration curve for In(III) was linear from 3 × 10−7 to 5 × 10−4 mol dm−3. The relative standard deviation for In(III) determination was about 3.0%.  相似文献

Interactions between myo-inositol 1,2,3,4,5,6-hexakis(dihydrogen phosphate) (phytic acid) and cadmium(II) were studied by using potentiometry (at 25 °C with the ISE-H+ glass electrode) in different metal to ligand (Phy) ratios (1:1≤Cd2+:Phy≤4:1) in NaClaq at different ionic strengths (0.1≤I/mol L−1≤1). Nine CdiHjPhy(12−2i−j)− species are formed with i=1 and 2 and 4≤j≤7; and trinuclear Cd3H4Phy2−. Dependence of complex formation constants on ionic strength was modeled by using Specific ion Interaction Theory (SIT) equations. Phytate and cadmium speciation are also dependent on the metal to ligand ratio. Stability of CdiHjPhy(12−2i−j)− species was modeled as a function of both the ligand protonation step (j) and the number of metal cations bound to phytate (i), and relationships found were used for the prediction of species other than those experimentally determined (mainly di- and tri-protonated complexes), allowing the possibility of modeling Phy and Cd(II) behavior in natural waters and biological fluids. A critical evaluation of phytate sequestering ability toward cadmium(II) has been made under several experimental conditions, and the determination of an empirical parameter has been proposed for an objective “quantification” of this ability. A thorough analysis of literature data on phytate–cadmium(II) complexes has been performed. Previous contributions to this series: [18]  相似文献

A new series of the macrocyclic complexes of type [M(C18H16N4O2)X2], where M = Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and X = Cl, NO3, CH3COO, has been synthesized by the condensation of succinyldihydrazide with benzil in the presence of bivalent metal ions. The complexes have been characterized with the aid of elemental analyses, conductance measurements, and electronic, NMR, and infrared spectral studies. On the basis of these studies, a six-coordinate distorted octahedral geometry in which two nitrogen and two carbonyl oxygen atoms are suitably placed for coordination toward metal ion has been proposed for all the complexes. The complexes were tested for their in vitro antibacterial activity. Some of the complexes showed remarkable antibacterial activity against some selected bacterial strains.  相似文献

The condensation reaction of succinyldihydrazide with glyoxal in the presence of divalent metal ions (1: 1: 1) results in the formation of the complexes of type [M(C6H8N4O2)X2], where M = Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and X = Cl, NO3, CH3COO. The complexes have been characterized with the aid of elemental analyses, conductance measurements and electronic, NMR, infrared spectral studies. On the basis of these studies, a six-coordinated distorted octahedral geometry in which two nitrogen and two carbonyl oxygen atoms are suitably placed for coordination toward metal ion, has been proposed for all the complexes. The complexes were tested for their in vitro antibacterial activity. Some of the complexes showed remarkable antibacterial activities against some selected bacterial strains.  相似文献

A new simple and inexpensive optical chemical sensor for cadmium(II) ions is presented. The cadmium sensing system was prepared by incorporating 2-amino-cyclopentene-1-dithiocarboxylic acid (ACDA) on a triacetylcellulose membrane. The absorption spectra of the optical sensor membrane in Cd(II) solution showed a maximum peak at 430 nm. The proportionality in intensity of the membrane color on the optode to varying amounts of Cd(II) suggests its potential applications for screening Cd(II) in aqueous samples by visual colorimetry. The sensor provided a wide concentration range of 3.0 × 10−6–3.4 × 10−4 M of Cd(II) ions with a detection limit of 1.0 × 10−6 M (0.2 μg/mL). The relative standard deviations for eight replicate measurements of 8.0 × 10−6 and 5.0 × 10−5 M Cd(II) were 2.7 and 2.3%, respectively. The response time of the optode was 6 min. The influence of interfering ions on the determination of 1.0 × 10−5 M Cd(II) was studied and the main interferences were removed by extraction method. The sensor was applied to the determination of Cd(II) in water samples.  相似文献

The behavior of Cd(II), Pb(II), Cu(II), and I in the aqueous solutions of sodium chloride is studied by stripping voltammetry. A new version of using an indicator electrode from carbon glass ceramics modified with mercury for the consecutive stripping determination of Cd(II), Pb(II), Cu(II), and iodide is proposed. The mercury-graphite electrode was formed in the solution of a supporting electrolyte based on NH4Cl, HCl, 0.05 M potassium tetraoxalate (KH3C4O3 · 2H2O), and 5 × 10−5 M mercury(II). At first, Cd(II), Pb(II), Cu(II), and then iodide were determined by anodic-cathodic stripping voltammetry after adding a sample solution (table salt, 10–100 mg/mL NaCl).  相似文献

A number of ionic chelate complexes of maltol(A) and hafnium(IV) the type[(η5−C5H5)2HfL]+[MCl3] (B) [HL=maltol; M=Zn(II), Cd(II), Hg(II), Cu(II)]have been synthesized and characterized by spectral studies (IR, UV, 1H NMR and 13C NMR). The stoichiometry of the complexes has been confirmed by conductance measurements. Thermogravimetric (TG) and differential thermal analytical (DTA) studies have been carried out for these complexes and from TG curves, the order, apparent activation energy and apparent activation entropy of the thermal decomposition reactions have been elucidated .The order in each case has been determined to be one and the degree of spontaneity and lability have been inferred from the apparent activation energy and entropy, respectively. Thermal parameters have been correlated with some structural aspects of the complexes concerned. From differential thermal analysis curves, the heat of reaction has been calculated. Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) 3-methylglutarates were prepared as solids with general formula MC6 H8 O4 ×n H2 O, where n =0–8. Their solubilities in water at 293 K were determined (7.0×10−2 −4.2×10−3 mol dm−3 ). The IR spectra were recorded and thermal decomposition in air was investigated. The IR spectra suggest that the carboxylate groups are mono- or bidentate. During heating the hydrated complexes lose some water molecules in one (Mn, Co, Ni, Cu) or two steps (Cd) and then mono- (Cu) or dihydrates (Mn, Co, Ni) decompose to oxides directly (Mn, Cu, Co) or with intermediate formation of free metals (Co, Ni). Anhydrous Zn(II) complex decomposes directly to the oxide ZnO. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

It was studied the equilibrium adsorption and adsorption kinetics of Cu(II), Cd(II), Pb(II), and Cr(VI) by composite hydroxides formed by Me x O y · nH2O and Me0.4–0.7Al0.6–0.3O y · nH2O, where Me = Zr, Sn and Ti. It was estimated the values of the diffusion coefficients of adsorbed ions Cu(II) and Cr(VI) from kinetic values. It was established that the estimated diffusion coefficients of adsorbed ions Cu(II) are in the range 0.4 × 10−12–2.5 × 10−12 m2/s for individual hydroxides and 1.2 × 10−12–2.8 × 10−12 m2/s for double hydroxides. The obtained values of diffusion coefficients Cr (VI) for double hydroxides are 0.1 × 10−10–0.4 × 10−10 m2/s.  相似文献

The adsorption capacities of commercial and Brazilian natural clays were evaluated to test their applications in wastewater control. We investigated the process of sorption of manganese(II) and cadmium(II) present in synthetic aqueous effluents, by calculating the adsorption isotherms at 298 K using batch experiments. The influence of temperature and pH on the adsorption process was also studied. Adsorption of metals was best described by a Langmuir isotherm, with values of Q 0 parameter, which is related to the sorption capacity, corresponding to 6.3 mg g− 1 for K-10/Cd(II), 4.8 mg g− 1 for K-10/Mn(II), 11.2 mg g− 1 for NT-25/Cd(II) and 6.0 mg g− 1 for NT-25/Mn(II). We observed two distinct adsorption mechanisms that may influence adsorption. At the first 5 min of interaction, a cation exchange mechanism that takes place at exchange sites located on (001) basal planes is predominant. This process is inhibited by low pH values. After this first and fast step, a second sorption mechanism can be related to formation of inner-sphere surface complexes, which is formed at edges of the clay. The rate constants and the initial sorption rates correlate positively with temperature in all studied systems, denoting the predominance of a physisorption process. The addition of complexing agents that are incorporated within the K10 structure, enhance metal uptake by the adsorbent. The results have shown that both Cd(II) and Mn(II) were totally retained from a 50 mg L− 1 solution when K10 grafted with ammonium pyrrolidinedithiocarbamate (APDC) was used as adsorbent.  相似文献

The oxidation rates of nanomolar levels of Fe(II) in seawater (salinity S = 36.2) by mixtures of O2 and H2O2 has been measured as a function of pH (5.8–8.4) and temperature (3–35∘C). A competition exists for the oxidation of Fe(II) in the presence of both O2 (μ mol⋅L−1 levels) and H2O2 (nmol⋅L−1 levels). A kinetic model has been applied to explain the experimental results that considers the interactions of Fe(II) with the major ions in seawater. In the presence of both oxidants, the hydrolyzed Fe(II) species dominate the Fe(II) oxidation process between pH 6 and 8.5. Over pH range 6.2–7.9, the FeOH+ species are the most active, whereas above pH 7.9, the Fe(OH)02 species are the most active at the levels of CO2−3 concentration present in seawater. The predicted Fe(II) oxidation rate at [Fe(II)]0 = 30nmol⋅L−1 and pH = 8.17 in the oxygen-saturated seawater with [H2O2]0 = 50nmol⋅L−1 (log 10 k = −2.24s−1) is in excellent agreement with the experimental value of log 10 k = −2.29s−1 ([H2O2]0 = 55nmol⋅L−1, pH = 8).  相似文献

For the system liquid anion-exchanger—Cr(III)−NCS, an investigation has been made of the dependence of the percentage extraction of Cr(III) on parameters such as standing time of the Cr(III)−NCS solution, temperature, pH and type of exchanger. Quantitative extraction of e.g. 4·10−4 M Cr(III) by 0.1M Aliquat in CCl4 is easily achieved at room temperature, using 4.75M KNCS−0.05N HCl as aqueous phase. At high Cr(III) concentrations, the complex anion present in the organic phase is Cr(NCS) 6 3− ; when working with dilute metal ion solutions, the species extracted is Cr(NCS)4 (H2O) 2 . Separations of mixtures containing 10−2−10−4 M Co(II), Ni(II) and Cr(III) have successfully been accomplished.  相似文献

An “off–on” rhodamine-based fluorescence probe for the selective signaling of Cr(III) has been designed by exploiting the guest-induced structure transform mechanism. This system shows a sharp Cr(III)-selective fluorescence enhancement response in 100% aqueous system under physiological pH value and possesses high selectivity against the background of environmentally and biologically relevant metal ions including Cr(VI), Al(III), Fe(III), Cd(II), Co(II), Cu(II), Ni(II), Zn(II), Mg(II), Ba(II), Pb(II), Na(I), and K(I). Under optimum conditions, the fluorescence intensity enhancement of this system is linearly proportional to Cr(III) concentration from 5.0 × 10−8 to 7.0 × 10−6 mol L−1 with a detection limit of 1.6 × 10−8 mol L−1.  相似文献

The sorption behavior of Sn(II) onto Haro river sand has been examined with respect to nature of electrolyte, agitation time, dosage of sorbent and concentration of sorbate. Maximum sorption (95.5%) has been achieved from 0.034M hydrochloric acid solution after equilibrating sorbate (2·10−5M) and sorbent (50 mg) for 120 minutes at aV/W ratio of 90 cm3·g−1. The kinetic data have been subjected to Morris-Weber and Lagergren equations. The kinetics of sorption proceeds a two stage process consisting of a relatively slow initial uptake followed by a much rapid increase in the sorption. The rate constant of intraparticle transport, Kd, comes out to be 8.75·10−8 mol·g−1·min−1/2 and the first order rate constant for sorption is 0.0416 min−1. The sorption data of Sn(II) onto Haro river sand followed Langmuir, Freundlich and Dubinin-Radushkevich (D-R) type isotherms. The Langmuir constant,Q, related to sorption capacity and,b, related to sorption energy are computed to be 10.6±1.1 μmol·g−1 and 1123±137 dm3·mol−1, respectively. The D-R isotherm yields the values ofC m=348±151 μmol·g−1 and β=−0.01044±0.0008 mol2·kJ−2 and ofE=6.9±0.3 kJ·mol−1. In all three isotherms correlation factor (γ) is ≥0.99. The influence of common anions and cations on the sorption has been investigated. Zn(II), Mg(II), oxalate, Pb(II), Mn(II) and tartrate reduce the sorption significantly whereas Fe(II) causes substantial increase in the sorption. It is essential that all ions causing a decrease in the sorption of Sn(II) must be absent from the sorptive solution otherwise low sorption yields would result.  相似文献

Hexa-histidine (6His) peptide was inserted to a permissive site of the surface layer (S-layer) protein RsaA of Caulobacter crescentus. The recombinant strain JS4022/p723–6H, expressing RsaA-6His fusion protein was examined for its ability to sequester Cd(II) from the bacterial growth medium. When mixed with 1 ppm CdCl2, JS4022/p723–6H removed 94.3 ∼ 99.9% of the Cd(II), whereas the control strain removed only 11.4 ∼ 37.0%, depending on experimental conditions. The effective contact time of the cells and Cd(II) was as short as 15 min. When higher concentrations of CdCl2 were tested, JS4022/p723–6H consistently demonstrated enhanced binding capacity over the control strain. At 15 ppm of Cd(II), each gram of JS4022/p723–6H dry cells retrieved 16.0 mg of Cd(II), comparing to 11.6 mg g−1 achieved by the control strain. This work provides a potential cost-effective solution toward bioremediation of heavy metals from aqueous systems.  相似文献

The oxidation of catechol by molecular oxygen in the presence of a catalytic amount of copper(II) complex with 2-methyl-3-amino-(3H)quinazoline-4-one (MAQ) and various anions (Cl, Br, ClO 4 , SCN, NO 3 and SO 4 ) was studied. The catecholase biomimetic catalytic activity of the copper(II) complexes has been determined spectrophotometrically by monitoring the oxidative transformation of catechol to the corresponding light absorbing o-quinone (Q). The rate of the catalytic oxidation reaction was investigated and correlated with the catalyst structure, time, concentration of catalyst and substrate and finally solvent effects. Addition of pyridine or Et3N showed a dramatic effect on the rate of oxidation reaction. Kinetic investigations demonstrate that the rate of oxidation reaction has a first order dependence with respect to the catalyst and catechol concentration and obeying Michaelis–Menten Kinetics. It was shown that the catalytic activity depends on the coordination environment of the catalyst created by the nature of counter anions bound to copper(II) ion in the complex molecule and follows the order: Cl > NO 3 > Br > SO 4 > SCN > ClO 4 . To further elucidate the catalytic activity of the complexes, their electrochemical properties were investigated and the catecholase mimetic activity has been correlated with the redox potential of the Cu2+/Cu+ couple in the complexes.  相似文献

A new solid-phase extraction method has been developed for the selective extraction of Cu(II) in an aqueous system using freshly precipitated lead diethyldithiocarbamate (Pb(DDTC)2) as a reagent. The method is based on the quantitative replacement of Pb(II) ions in the solid Pb(DDTC)2 phase by Cu(II) ions present in aqueous phase. The obtained solid Cu(DDTC)2 phase was dissolved in chloroform and determined spectrophotometrically at 435 nm. Beer’s law was obeyed over the concentration range of 0.2–5 mg dm−3. The molar absorptivity and the Sandell’s sensitivity coefficients of the solutions were 1.0689 × 104 dm3 mol−1 cm−1 and 0.0060 μg cm−2, respectively. The optimum conditions for each parameter were experimentally determined and possible interferences of various salts were also studied. The method has been validated and applied to determine Cu(II) in various alloys and water samples.  相似文献

The electrochemical behavior of the ofloxacin–copper complex, Cu(II)L2, at a mercury electrode, and the interaction of DNA with the complex have been investigated. The experiments indicate that the electrode reaction of Cu(II)L2 is an irreversible surface electrochemical reaction and that the reactant is of adsorbed character. In the presence of DNA, the formation of the electrochemically non-active complexes Cu(II)L2-DNA, results in the decrease of the peak current of Cu(II)L2. Based on the electrochemical behavior of the Cu(II)L2 with DNA, binding by electrostatic interaction is suggested and a new method for determining nucleic acid is proposed. Under the optimum conditions, the decrease of the peak current is in proportional to the concentration of nucleic acids in the range from 3 × 10−8 to 3 × 10−6 g · mL−1 for calf thymus DNA, from 1.6 × 10−8 to 9.0 × 10−7 g · mL−1 for fish sperm DNA, and from 3.3 × 10−8 to 5.5 × 10−7 g · mL−1 for yeast RNA. The detection limits are 3.3 × 10−9, 6.7 × 10−9 and 8.0 × 10−9 g · mL−1, respectively. The method exhibits good recovery and high sensitivity in synthetic samples and in real samples.  相似文献

Aqueous solution of water soluble colloidal MnO2 was prepared by Perez-Benito method. Kinetics of l-methionine oxidation by colloidal MnO2 in perchloric acid (0.93 × 10−4 to 3.72 × 10−4 mol dm−3) has been studied spectrophotometrically. The reaction follows first-order kinetics with respect to [H+]. The first-order kinetics with respect to l-methionine at low concentration shifts to zero order at higher concentration. The effects of [Mn(II)] and [F] on the reaction rate were also determined. Manganese (II) has sigmoidal effect on the rate reaction and act as auto catalyst. The exact dependence on [Mn(II)] cannot be explained due to its oxidation by colloidal MnO2. Methionine sulfoxide was formed as the oxidation product of l-methionine. Ammonia and carbon dioxide have not been identified as the reaction products. The mechanism with the observed kinetics has been proposed and discussed.  相似文献
