弱双折射光纤布喇格光栅反射偏振对温度响应特性的研究   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
理论分析了切趾弱双折射光纤布喇格光栅反射偏振相关特性与温度之间的关系.数值模拟了切趾弱双折射光纤光栅的反射谱、偏振相关损耗和差分群时延随波长变化曲线.实验测出了不同温度下反射谱、偏振相关损耗和差分群时延随波长变化曲线.根据实验结果对偏振相关损耗和差分群时延的变化情况作出了分析.反射偏振相关损耗呈现两个峰值,随温度增加两峰漂移程度相同,表明偏振相关损耗无明显差异.差分群时延最大值随温度增加成线性向长波方向漂移,证明了光纤光栅正交模损耗变化的等同性.综合理论分析与实验结果表明:切趾弱双折射光纤布喇格光栅的偏振特性随温度产生明显的变化,其正交模变化呈现等比例特性.  相似文献

This paper presents a tunable transversal filter working with a single optical carrier at constant wavelength. The filter consists of a set of chirped gratings whose time delay is tuned with respect to the emission wavelength of a fiber laser by a piezoelectric actuator; extra lengths of fiber are inserted in the filter arms in order to avoid interferences between signals reflected in different gratings. Two and three taps filters are experimentally demonstrated, the filters transfer function is electronically tuned within the free spectral range.  相似文献

The switchable single polarized Er-doped polarization-maintaining-fiber (PMF) linear cavity laser based on two PMF gratings has been proposed. The gratings are fabricated in Er-doped PMFs, each grating has two single polarized wavelength and they function as the reflective mirror of the laser. So the laser can output switchable single wavelength polarized laser, with the switchable of the wavelength of grating the output of the laser can also be switched. Our experiment result shows that the laser has the OSNR of 48.5 dB, the degree of polarization (DOP) of 98.7%, and the laser linewidth with less than 9.2 pm.  相似文献

The reflective polarizer is described by a sandwiched two-layer grating with a metal slab. Such a new polarizer is aimed to improve the performance of a reflective grating-based polarizer. The grating is optimized with the usual duty cycle of 0.5, where TE and TM polarizations are reflected in the –1st and the 0th diffraction orders, respectively. With optimized grating parameters, the extinction ratio can reach 45.5 dB and 41.9 dB in two diffraction orders, which are greatly improved compared with the conventional reported surface grating polarizer with the simple structure. Attractive merits of the new design are high efficiency, high extinction ratio, wide incident wavelength bandwidth for TE polarization, and wide angular range for TM polarization. Numerical results are expected to open new opportunities for the design of a grating-based polarizer with the enhanced performance by the complicated grating configuration.  相似文献

The circular dichroism(CD) signal of a two-dimensional(2D) chiral meta-surface is usually weak, where the difference between the transmitted(or reflected) right and left circular polarization is barely small. We present a general method to enhance the reflective CD spectrum, by adding a layer of reflective film behind the meta-surface. The light passes through the chiral meta-surface and propagates towards the reflector, where it is reflected back and further interacts with the chiral meta-surface. The light is reflected back and forth between these two layers, forming a Fabry–Perot type resonance,which interacts with the localized surface plasmonic resonance(LSPR) mode and greatly enhances the CD signal of the light wave leaving the meta-surface. We numerically calculate the CD enhancing effect of an L-shaped chiral meta-surface on a gold film in the visible range. Compared with the single layer meta-surface, the L-shaped chiral meta-surface has a CD maximum that is dramatically increased to 1. The analysis of reflection efficiency reveals that our design can be used to realize a reflective circular polarizer. Corresponding mode analysis shows that the huge CD originates from the hybrid mode comprised of FP mode and LSPR. Our results provide a general approach to enhancing the CD signal of a chiral meta-surface and can be used in areas like biosensing, circular polarizer, integrated photonics, etc.  相似文献

Phase properties of optical thin film interference filters are discussed from the aspect of their usage for phase-error free wavelength separation of broadband femtosecond laser pulses. It is shown that both transmissive or reflective interference filters with high contrast ratios exhibit high cubic phase shifts on transmission or reflection, respectively, causing intolerable distortion in the temporal pulse shape. We show, however, that high efficiency wavelength separation of broadband femtosecond laser pulses can be achieved by using low contrast, properly designed reflective optical interference filters directly built into the cavity of the broad spectrum, femtosecond pulse lasers or parametric oscillators. For demonstrative purposes, we implemented the idea for a Kerr-lens mode-locked Ti:sapphire laser, and obtained two-color, inherently synchronized, unchirped, femtosecond pulse outputs from a single laser oscillator.  相似文献

We present a series of experiments to demonstrate digital holography on reflective objects at wavelength 10.6 μm of a CO2 laser using a pyrocam array. Fresnel holograms of reflective objects are recorded by a Mach-Zehnder interferometer. We describe a method for improving the accuracy of the numerical reconstructions and for compensating the loss of resolution at longer wavelength by Fresnel reconstruction of digitally recorded infrared holograms.  相似文献

偏振不敏感超表面在实际应用中具有重要意义, 本文提出了一种光通信波段的、对偏振不敏感的异常反射式梯度超表面, 这种超表面对于x-偏振和y-偏振入射光都能够实现高效率的异常反射, 表现出偏振不敏感特性, 为解决传统反射式超表面的偏振敏感性问题提供了一种新途径. 它采用金属(Au)-绝缘层(SiO2)-金属(Au)结构, 超表面的超晶胞由五个各向同性的、尺寸不同的十字形基本结构单元组成. 仿真结果表明, 这种超表面结构对不同线偏振入射平面光波有几乎相同的相位和振幅响应; 合理的选取五个基本结构单元的尺寸, 在一个超晶胞内实现了2πup 相位的覆盖, 反射光波阵面畸变小, 而且反射光都集中到异常反射级次, 在工作波长1480 nm处具有较高的异常反射率(~ 70%). 此外, 这种结构的超表面在-30°–0°的宽入射角度范围内都具有偏振不敏感的异常反射特性. 在光通信、光信号处理、显示成像等领域具有潜在的应用前景.  相似文献

We show that the optical trapping of dielectric particles by a single focused beam in front of a weakly reflective surface is considerably affected by interference of the incident and reflected beams, which creates a standing-wave component of the total field. We use the two-photon-excited fluorescence from a trapped dyed probe to detect changes in the distance between the trapped beam focus as the focus approaches the reflective surface. This procedure enables us to determine the relative strengths of the single-beam and the standing-wave trapping forces. We demonstrate that, even for reflection from a glass-water interface, standing-wave trapping dominates, as far as 5 mum from the surface.  相似文献

We experimentally investigated the impact of wavelength detuning on upstream transmission in a loop-back wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) passive optical network based on reflective semiconductor optical amplifier (RSOA), where single mode lasers were employed as seeding sources. Varying the wavelength detuning condition, the suppression of the residual downstream components included in the upstream data was dramatically changed due to transient chirp effect and the interaction between the transiently chirped light and the slight gain variations caused by gain ripple in the RSOA, giving rise to significant system performance variations.  相似文献

A 2D photonic crystal optical switch is proposed based on a rods-in-air square-lattice photonic crystal by removing two cross-lines of rods from a 2D square-lattice photonic crystal to form four optical channels. The simulation results show that, when inserting a single rod along the diagonal line of the intersection area of two removed cross-lines of rods, the position of the single inserted rod determines how much incident energy goes into different channels. In the case of transverse magnetic (TM) Gaussian point source, time domain simulation shows that up to 87.3% of the incident energy can be switched into a channel, which is vertical to the source channel. Because there are two diagonal lines in the intersection area of two removed cross-lines of rods, the optical switch feature is achieved by shifting the inserted rod between two diagonal lines. It is also found that the magnitude of the reflected wave in the source channel varies greatly with spatial position of the single inserted rod. The larger the magnitude of the reflected wave in the source channel, the less the energy that goes into the switched channel. The time delay between the incident wave and the reflected wave in the source channel is also related to the position of the single inserted rod. In addition, the large time delay between the incident wave and the reflected wave in the source channel shows that the reflected wave encounters many reflections with the walls of the source channel, instead of waves reflected back from the single inserted rod.  相似文献

基于圆极化波入射条件下的高效同极化反射超表面实现了对圆极化反射波相位的自由调控, 设计了一维圆极化波反射聚焦超表面. 在中心频率f=16 GHz附近, 右旋圆极化平面波入射时, 反射波聚焦于焦距L=200 mm的实焦点; 左旋圆极化波入射时, 反射波近似聚焦于焦距L=-200 mm的虚焦点. 仿真计算得到聚焦波束的波束宽度、焦深. 结果表明, 这种圆极化反射聚焦超表面具有很好的聚焦效果, 同时具有长焦深和宽带特性.  相似文献

We demonstrate that we realize large-delay slow light based on stimulated Brillouin scattering in a short length of our fabricated small-core photonic crystal fiber (PCF). The cavity effect from the partially reflective splices in the end of the PCF enhances slow-light delay significantly. Our experiments show that large slow-light delay can be easily realized in a very short length of the PCF with a moderate pump power. Up to a one-half pulse-width delay is achieved in only 50 m of PCF in a single pump segment.  相似文献

为了实现长周期光栅透射谱测量模式的远距离监测,设计了单端面镀反射膜的测量装置系统,对单端面镀银膜长周期光栅的传感原理做了分析,并从实验的角度分别对单端面镀银膜模式系统和直接透射模式系统的长周期光栅在不同折射率的环境介质中的响应进行了研究,比较了它们的异同。首先,采用2×2单模光纤耦合器分别连接光谱分析仪、光源、长周期光栅。然后,在包含长周期光栅的光纤的另一个端面制备反射银膜。最后,通过测量一系列不同折射率的环境介质,比较了直接透射模式与单端面镀银膜模式下的长周期光栅的响应光谱。实验结果表明:采用波长解调表达时,对于同一种环境介质,两种模式下长周期光栅的响应光谱的谐振波长基本相同;采用功率/峰值解调表达时,随着甘油浓度从水变为80%的甘油溶液,直接透射模式下的光损耗从-6.05 d B变为-9.22 d B,单端面镀银膜模式下的光损耗从-8.03 d B变为-11.33d B。与直接透射模式相比,单端面镀银膜的长周期光栅光谱中的相对光损耗明显增加,谐振峰更尖锐,更有利于谐振波长和谐振峰光损耗值的识别。本研究设计的单端面镀银膜的长周期光栅测量系统不仅保留了长周期光栅透射谱的感应模式,而且使长周期光栅在对环境介质的测量中操作更加灵活方便,尤其是在远距离、恶劣环境或深层液体的折射率测量中具有独特的优势。  相似文献

A polarization-selective beam splitter is presented based on a reflective surface-relief two-layer grating with a metal slab. The grating is composed of two dielectric layers and a metal slab on the substrate. For TE polarization, efficiencies of 97.58% can be diffracted into the reflective −1st order. For TM polarization, two-port output of 47.55% and 47.11% can be split into the 0th order and the −1st order, respectively. Such a polarization-selective beam splitter can be fulfilled by one grating in reflection. The grating depths of two layers are optimized by using rigorous coupled-wave analysis with the given duty cycle of 0.6 and period of 1100 nm. The performance for different incident conditions is investigated when the incident wavelength and angle deviate from the central wavelength and the Bragg angle, respectively. For TM polarization, good uniformity can still be achieved within the given incident wavelength and angle regions. For TE polarization, the reflective polarization-selective beam splitter can have merits of wideband for different incident wavelengths.  相似文献

We propose a novel downlink optical carrier remodulated wavelength-division-multiplexed passive optical network (WDM-PON) architecture, in which two WDM-PONs whose wavelength locate in different wavebands share a single delay interferometer (DI) in remote node (RN) to demodulate the downlink data simultaneously. 10-Gb/s downlink differential phase-shift-keying (DPSK) signal and 1.25-Gb/s remodulated uplink On-Off keying (OOK) signal are generated and measured. Experiment results show that crosstalk between the two WDM-PONs is negligible even though the two PONs share a single DI. With our novel scheme, the single DI can be shared by more users in different PONs, which can reduce the cost of optical network unit (ONU). Meanwhile, Rayleigh backscattering noise is eliminated by combining these two PONs with different wavebands.  相似文献

基于耦合模理论对一种应用于无线传感器的声表面波(SAW)反射型延迟线的性能进行了优化模拟分析。结合混合等效电路模型推导出评价这种器件性能的时域反射系数S11。典型的SAW反射型延迟线包含置于压电基片之上的一个换能器与沿声波传播方向设置的多个反射器。讨论了器件性能的各种结构性影响因素如换能器结构以及反射器类型等,并以此获得优化的器件设计参数。在理论优化分析的基础上,以41°YX LiNbO3为压电基片,结合铝电极试验制作了采用单向单相换能器(SPUDT)与3个短路栅反射器的440 MHz SAW反射型延迟线器件,并与理论分析结果予以对比与评价分析。   相似文献

A chirped pulse amplification (CPA) laser configuration capable of driving a plasma beat wave into saturation before modulation instabilities can grow is reported. The proposal is based on generating a single sub-ps, broad bandwidth pulse (~16 nm) and stretching and filtering to select two wavelength components (separation ~7 nm). The two spectral components are temporally stretched (to >100 ps) and separated (by ~1 ns). The pulses are then amplified sequentially in a single Nd:glass chain to greater than 15 J per pulse. Using a single-pass reflective grating compressor, the pulses are compressed (from 2 to 5 ps) and automatically synchronized. The system is capable of introducing a chirp, such that the compressed pulses can compensate for relativistic detuning of the plasma wave. The optimum laser amplification and recombination configuration for generating a saturated laser-driven beatwave is presented, and options for future work are discussed  相似文献
