Our aim is to analyze and to publicize two interesting properties — well known in universal algebra for varieties — that a regular category, and in particular an exact category, may possess: theMaltsev property, asserting the permutabilitySR=RS of equivalence relations on any object, and the weakerGoursat property, asserting only thatSRS=RSR. We investigate these properties, give various equivalent forms of them, and develop some of their useful consequences.  相似文献

In this paper, we study a close relationship between relative cluster tilting theory in extriangulated categories and τ-tilting theory in module categories. Our main results show that relative rigid objects are in bijection with τ-rigid pairs, and also relative maximal rigid objects with support τ-tilting pairs under some assumptions. These results generalize the work by Adachi-Iyama-Reiten, Yang-Zhu and Fu-Geng-Liu. In addition, we introduce mutation of relative maximal rigid objects and show that any basic relative almost maximal rigid object has exactly two non-isomorphic indecomposable complements. All results highlight new phenomena when they applied to exact categories.  相似文献

Let E be a proper class of triangles in a triangulated category C, and let (A, B, C) be a recollement of triangulated categories. Based on Beligiannis's work, we prove that A and C have enough E-projective objects whenever B does. Moreover, in this paper, we give the bounds for the E-global dimension of B in a recollement (A, B, C) by controlling the behavior of the E-global dimensions of the triangulated categories A and C: In particular, we show that the finiteness of the E-global dimensions of triangulated categories is invariant with respect to the recollements of triangulated categories.  相似文献

Let R be a right coherent ring and D~b(R-Mod) the bounded derived category of left R-modules. Denote by D~b(R-Mod)_([G F,C]) the subcategory of D~b(R-Mod) consisting of all complexes with both finite Gorenstein flat dimension and cotorsion dimension and K~b(F ∩ C) the bounded homotopy category of flat cotorsion left R-modules. We prove that the quotient triangulated category D~b(R-Mod)_([G F,C])/K~b(F ∩ C) is triangle-equivalent to the stable category GF ∩ C of the Frobenius category of all Gorenstein flat and cotorsion left R-modules.  相似文献

In order to describe stress and displacement fields in the neightborhood of singularities in fracture mechanics the so-called theory of complex stress function based on Kolosov and Muskhelishvili can be used. The relation between linear elasticity and complex function theory is based on the Theorem of Goursat. In this paper a discrete version of the Theorem is proved.  相似文献

We provide necessary and sufficient conditions on the derived type of a vector field distribution V in order that it be locally equivalent to a partial prolongation of the contact distribution , on the 1st order jet bundle of maps from R to Rq, q?1. This result fully generalises the Goursat normal form from the theory of exterior differential systems. Our proof is constructive: it is proven that if V is locally equivalent to a partial prolongation of then the explicit construction of contact coordinates algorithmically depends upon the integration of a sequence of geometrically defined and algorithmically determined integrable Pfaffian systems on M. Though the tools required are rather different, our main theorem may be regarded as a generalisation of the work of R.B. Gardner and W.F. Shadwick on the feedback linearisation of autonomous nonlinear control systems.  相似文献

We present a new characterisation of Goursat categories in terms of special kind of pushouts, that we call Goursat pushouts. This allows one to prove that, for a regular category, the Goursat property is actually equivalent to the validity of the denormalised 3-by-3 Lemma. Goursat pushouts are also useful to clarify, from a categorical perspective, the existence of the quaternary operations characterising 3-permutable varieties.  相似文献

In this paper we consider a hyperbolic-type differential equation with L p -coefficients in a three-dimensional space. For this equation we study the Goursat problem with nonclassical boundary constraints not requiringmatched conditions. We prove the equivalence of these boundary conditions to classical ones in the case when one seeks for a solution to the stated problem in an anisotropic space introduced by S. L. Sobolev. In addition, we prove the correct solvability of the Goursat problem by the method of integral equations.  相似文献
