The topcolor-assisted technicolor (TC2) model predicts a number of neutral scalars like the top-pion (π0t) and the top-Higgs (h0t). These scalars have flavor-changing neutral-current (FCNC) top quark couplings, among which the top-charm transition couplings may be sizable. Such FCNC couplings induce single top productions associated with a neutral scalar at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) through the parton processes cg→t π0t and cg→t h0t. In this paper we examine these productions and find their production rates can exceed the 3σ sensitivity of the LHC in a large part of parameter space. Since in the Standard Model and the minimal supersymmetric model such rare productions have unobservably small production rates at the LHC, these rare processes will serve as a good probe for the TC2 model.  相似文献

In the context of the topcolor-assisted technicolor (TC2) model, we consider the production of the neutral scalar S(πt0 or ht0) associated with a photon at the LHC and compare our results with those given by the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model (MSSM). We find that its production cross section is larger or smaller than that of the scalar particle predicted by the MSSM model, depending on the values of the relevant free parameters.  相似文献

We investigate the associated production of the neutral top-Higgs ht0 with a pair of top-quarks in the context of the topcolor-assisted technicolor (TC2) model at the future e+e- Linear Colliders (LC) i.e. e+e- → tt ht0. We calculate the production rate and present the distributions of the transverse momenta of top-Higgs and top-quarks. The results show that the total cross section is typically of the order of 1.0-7.5 fb in the energy range between 1000 GeV and 2000 GeV of the LC for the whole top-Higgs mass region of interest. It should be distinctly possible that hundreds or even thousands of ht0 signals can be produced per year at the LC given the luminosity L=500 fb-1.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the production of the neutral top-pion (Π0t) associated with a gauge boson at the LHC, i.e. pp→Π0tV(V=g,W,Z,γ). The cross section of pp→Π0tg is at the level of 102 pb in the most parameter space. Such a process with the flavor-changing decay mode Π0t→ tc might provide viable signatures to detect Π0t at the LHC. The cross sections of other processes pp→Π0tW(Z,γ) are too small to detect Π0t, which open a window to distinguish the Higgs boson in the SM or MSSM from Π0t.  相似文献

Considering the process pp → VH+X(V = W or Z) is a significant channel for searching for a light Higgs boson,we calculate the contributions of the littlest Higgs model with T-parity(called LHT model) to its production cross section.We find that,in most of the parameter space,the value of the relative correction parameter R is very small.However,with reasonable values of the free parameters,its value can be significantly larger.  相似文献

By using the partial wave method,we investigate the absorption of a massless scalar wave from a Schwarzschild black hole surrounded by quintessence.We obtained the expression of absorption cross section σabs(ω)=π/ω2sum from l=0 to ∞(2l+1)|Tωl(ω)|2=π/ω2sum from l=0 to ∞(2l+1)Γωl(ω).Then we numerically carry out the absorption cross section and we find that the larger the angular momentum quantum number l is,the smaller the corresponding maximum value of the partial absorption cross section is,and that the total absorption cross section tends to the geometric-optical limit σ hf abs ≈πb 2 c.We also find that higher value of ω q(state parameter of quintessence) corresponds to the higher value of absorption cross section σ abs.  相似文献

The littlest Higgs (LH) model is the most economical one among various little Higgs models, which predicts the existence of the charged scalars Φ^±. In this paper, we study the production of the charged Higgs boson Φ^- with single top quark via the process gb →tΦ^- at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The numerical results show that the production cross section is sma/ler than 0.2 pb in most of the parameters space, it is very difficult to observe the signatures of the charged scalars via the process pp → gb + X → tΦ^- + X at the LHC experiments. However, it can open a window to distinguish the top-pions in the TC2 model or charged Higgs in the MSSM from Φ^±.  相似文献

Many researches from both theoretical and experimental perspectives have been performed to search for a new Higgs Boson that is lighter than the 125 \begin{document}$ {\rm GeV} $\end{document} Higgs boson, which was discovered at the LHC in 2012. In this study, we explore the possibility of constraining a lighter neutral custodial fiveplet scalar \begin{document}$ H_{5}^{0} $\end{document} in the Georgi-Machacek (GM) model using the latest results of the search for a lighter Higgs boson decaying into two photons from LHC data. The custodial-singlet mass eigenstate h or H is considered to be the LHC observed 125 \begin{document}$ {\rm GeV} $\end{document} Higgs boson. A new set of constrained parameters that is favoured by low-mass \begin{document}$ H_{5}^{0} $\end{document} is proposed to generate events efficiently. The production of \begin{document}$ H_{5}^{0} $\end{document} from a scan based on the constrained parameters is compared to the latest results of the search for a lighter Higgs boson decaying into two photons by the CMS Collaboration after applying theoretical constraints from the GM model and constraints from all existing relevant experimental measurements, including the recent results of the Higgs boson searches by the LHC. Numerical analyses of the surviving GM parameter space are performed. The tendencies and correlations of the GM input parameters from phenomenological studies are summarized. In addition, the discovery potential of the other interesting decay channels of this low-mass neutral custodial fiveplet scalar are discussed.  相似文献

In this paper we calculate the production of a charged top pion in association with a $W$ boson at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in the context of the topcolor assisted technicolor model. We find that the cross section of $pp \rightarrow b\bar{b} \rightarrow W^{\pm}\pi_t^{\mp}$ is roughly corresponding to the result of the process $pp \rightarrow b\bar{b} \rightarrow W^{\pm}H^{\mp}$ in the minimal supersymmetric standard model, and for reasonable ranges of the parameters, the cross section can reach a few hundred fb. The $W^{\pm}\pi_t^{\mp}$ signal should be clearly visible at LHC unless $\pi_t^{\pm}$ is very heavy.  相似文献

The twin Higgs mechanism has recently been proposed to solve the little hierarchy problem. In the context of the left-right twin Higgs (LRTH) model, we discuss single production of the new charged gauge boson WH^- , which is predicted by the left-right twin Higgs model, in association with top quark at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). It is found that, for a typical nonzero value of mass mixing parameter M = 150 GeV in the LRTH model, the production cross section is in the range of 3 ×10^-2 - 6.07×10^3 fb at the LHC. As long as the WH^- is not too heavy, the possible signatures of the heavy charged gauge boson might be detected at the LHC experiments.  相似文献

The dominant decay modes of charged top-pions (π±t ) are tb or ~b. We consider the single production ofcharged top-pions in association with a top quark via e+ e- annihilation and calculate the production cross section of theprocesses e+ e- → t-bπ+ (tb-π-) at the leading order. We find that it can reach 1.2 fb with reasonable parameter values.The charged top-pions may be detected via the channel tbπ± in the future high energy e+ e- colliders.  相似文献

Dark sector may couple to the Standard Model via one or more mediator particles.We discuss two types of mediators:the dark photon A’and the dark scalar mediatorΦ.The total cross-sections and various differential distributions of the processes e+e-→qqA’and e+e→qqφ(q=u,d,c,s and b quarks)are discussed.We focus on the study of the invisible due to the cleaner background at future e+e-colliders.It is found that the kinematic distributions of the two-jet system could be used to identify(or exclude)the dark photon and the dark scalar mediator,as well as to distinguish between them.We further study the possibility of a search for dark photons at a future CEPC experiment with s1/2=91.2 GeV and 240 GeV.With CEPC running at s1/2=91.2 GeV,it would be possible to perform a decisive measurement of the dark photon(20 GeV相似文献
