This paper presents a new delay-dependent and parameter-dependent robust stability criterion for linear continuous-time systems with polytopic parameter uncertainties and time-varying delay in the state. This criterion, expressed as a set of linear matrix inequalities, requires no matrix variable to be fixed for the entire uncertainty polytope, which produces a less conservative stability test result. Numerical examples are given to show the effectiveness of the proposed techniques.  相似文献

This paper is addressed to some questions concerning the exponential stability and its robustness measure for linear time-varying differential-algebraic systems of index 1. First, the Bohl exponent theory that is well known for ordinary differential equations is extended to differential-algebraic equations. Then, it is investigated that how the Bohl exponent and the stability radii with respect to dynamic perturbations for a differential-algebraic system depend on the system data. The paper can be considered as a continued and complementary part to a recent paper on stability radii for time-varying differential-algebraic equations [N.H. Du, V.H. Linh, Stability radii for linear time-varying differential-algebraic equations with respect to dynamic perturbations, J. Differential Equations 230 (2006) 579-599].  相似文献

A continuous resp. discrete r-dimensional (r1) system is the solution space of a system of linear partial differential resp. difference equations with constant coefficients for a vector of functions or distributions in r variables resp. of r-fold indexed sequences. Although such linear systems, both multidimensional and multivariable, have been used and studied in analysis and algebra for a long time, for instance by Ehrenpreis et al. thirty years ago, these systems have only recently been recognized as objects of special significance for system theory and for technical applications. Their introduction in this context in the discrete one-dimensional (r=1) case is due to J. C. Willems. The main duality theorem of this paper establishes a categorical duality between these multidimensional systems and finitely generated modules over the polynomial algebra in r indeterminates by making use of deep results in the areas of partial differential equations, several complex variables and algebra. This duality theorem makes many notions and theorems from algebra available for system theoretic considerations. This strategy is pursued here in several directions and is similar to the use of polynomial algebra in the standard one-dimensional theory, but mathematically more difficult. The following subjects are treated: input-output structures of systems and their transfer matrix, signal flow spaces and graphs of systems and block diagrams, transfer equivalence and (minimal) realizations, controllability and observability, rank singularities and their connection with the integral respresentation theorem, invertible systems, the constructive solution of the Cauchy problem and convolutional transfer operators for discrete systems. Several constructions on the basis of the Gröbner basis algorithms are executed. In this paper, the problem of stability analysis for uncertain dynamic systems with time-varying delays is considered. The parametric uncertainties are assumed to be bounded in magnitude. Based on the Lyapunov stability theory, a new delay-dependent stability criterion for the system is established in terms of linear matrix inequalities, which can be solved easily by various efficient convex optimization algorithms. Two numerical examples are illustrated to show the effectiveness of proposed method.  相似文献

This paper develops new robust delay-dependent filter design for a class of linear systems with time-varying delays and convex-bounded parameter uncertainties. The design procedure hinges upon the constructive use of an appropriate Lyapunov functional plus a free-weighting matrices in order to exhibit the delay-dependent dynamics. The developed approach utilizes smaller number of LMI decision variables thereby leading to less conservative solutions to the delay-dependent stability and filtering problems. Subsequently, linear matrix inequalities (LMIs)-based conditions are characterized such that the linear delay system is robustly asymptotically stable with an γ-level L2-gain. All the developed results are tested on representative examples.  相似文献

This paper considers the robust stability for a class of linear systems with interval time-varying delay and nonlinear perturbations. A Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, which takes the range information of the time-varying delay into account, is proposed to analyze the stability. A new approach is introduced for estimating the upper bound on the time derivative of the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional. On the basis of the estimation and by utilizing free-weighting matrices, new delay-range-dependent stability criteria are established in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Numerical examples are given to show the effectiveness of the proposed approach.  相似文献

In this paper, we study periodic linear systems on periodic time scales which include not only discrete and continuous dynamical systems but also systems with a mixture of discrete and continuous parts (e.g. hybrid dynamical systems). We develop a comprehensive Floquet theory including Lyapunov transformations and their various stability preserving properties, a unified Floquet theorem which establishes a canonical Floquet decomposition on time scales in terms of the generalized exponential function, and use these results to study homogeneous as well as nonhomogeneous periodic problems. Furthermore, we explore the connection between Floquet multipliers and Floquet exponents via monodromy operators in this general setting and establish a spectral mapping theorem on time scales. Finally, we show this unified Floquet theory has the desirable property that stability characteristics of the original system can be determined via placement of an associated (but time varying) system?s poles in the complex plane. We include several examples to show the utility of this theory.  相似文献

It is proved that for the discrete-time linear systems with time-varying coefficients the existence of a controller which simultaneously stabilizes and provides prescribed disturbance attenuation for the resultant closed-loop system, implies the existence of global solutions to several Kalman-Szegö-Popov-Yakubovich systems. It is also proved that this fact is equivalent to the existence of the positive semidefinite stabilizing solutions to corresponding game-theoretic Riccati equations. The family of all controllers with the above mentioned properties is constructed in terms of the solutions to the cited Kalman-Szegö-Popov-Yakubovich systems. The main tool is the generalized Popov-Yakubovich theory which is essentially developed in an operator-theoretic framework.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a review of our recent works on complete synchro-nization analyses of networks of the coupled dynamical systems with time-varying cou-plings. The main approach is composed of algebraic graph theory and dynamic system method. More precisely, the Hajnal diameter of matrix sequence plays a key role in in-vestigating synchronization dynamics and the joint graph across time periods possessing spanning tree is a doorsill for time-varying topologies to reach synchronization. These techniques with proper modification count for diverse models of networks of the cou-pled systems, including discrete-time and continuous-time models, linear and nonlinear models, deterministic and stochastic time-variations. Alternatively, transverse stability analysis of general time-varying dynamic systems can be employed for synchronization study as a special case and proved to be equivalent to Hajnal diameter.  相似文献

Finding an equivalence between two feedback control systems is treated as a problem in the theory of partial differential equation systems. The mathematical aim is to embed the Jakubzyk-Respondek, Hunt-Meyer-Su work on feedback linearization in the general theory of differential systems due to Lie, Cartan, Vessiot, Spencer, and Goldschmidt. We do this by using the functor taking control systems into differential systems, and studying the equivalence invariants of such differential systems. After discussing the general case, attention is focussed on the special situation of most immediate practical importance, the theory of feedback linearization. In this case, the general system for feedback equivalence becomes a system of linear partial differential equations. Conditions are found that the general solution of this system may be described in terms of a Frobenius system and certain differential-algebraic operations.This work was supported by grant from the Ames Research Center of NASA and the Applied Mathematics Program of the National Science Foundation.  相似文献

In this paper the problem of exponential stability of the zero state equilibrium of a discrete-time time-varying linear equation described by a sequence of linear positive operators acting on an ordered finite dimensional Hilbert space is investigated. The class of linear equations considered in this paper contains as particular cases linear equations described by Lyapunov operators or symmetric Stein operators as well as nonsymmetric Stein operators. Such equations occur in connection with the problem of mean square exponential stability for a class of difference stochastic equations affected by independent random perturbations and Markovian jumping as well us in connection with some iterative procedures which allow us to compute global solutions of discrete time generalized symmetric or nonsymmetric Riccati equations. The exponential stability is characterized in terms of the existence of some globally defined and bounded solutions of some suitable backward affine equations (inequalities) or forward affine equations (inequalities).  相似文献

The robust exponential stability and stabilizability problems are addressed in this paper for a class of linear parameter dependent systems with interval time-varying and constant delays. In this paper, restrictions on the derivative of the time-varying delay is not required which allows the time-delay to be a fast time-varying function. Based on the Lyapunov-Krasovskii theory, we derive delay-dependent exponential stability and stabilizability conditions in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) which can be solved by various available algorithms. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of our theoretical results.  相似文献

A generalization of Jensen's formula to operators associated with time-varying systems is presented. Poles and zeros of the transfer function are replaced by elements of the spectrum of two weighted shifts, one associated with the system, the other with its inverse. The one-to-one correspondence between one-dimensional linear (stationary, causal) input/state/output systems and scattering systems with one evolution operator, in which the scattering function of the scattering system coincides with the transfer function of the linear system, is well understood, and has significant applications in H control theory. Here we consider this correspondence in the d-dimensional setting in which the transfer and scattering functions are defined on the polydisk. Unlike in the onedimensional case, the multidimensional state space realizations and the corresponding multi-evolution scattering systems are not necessarily equivalent, and the cases d = 2 and d > 2 differ substantially. A new proof of Andô’s dilation theorem for a pair of commuting contraction operators and a new statespace realization theorem for a matrix-valued inner function on the bidisk are obtained as corollaries of the analysis.  相似文献

This paper proposes an approach for the robust stability of uncertain systems with interval time-varying delay. The key features of the approach include the introduction of uncorrelated augmented matrix items into the Lyapunov functional and the use of a tighter bounding technology. Unlike existing methodologies, the proposed approach involves neither free weighting matrices nor any model transformation. It can, however, lead to much less conservative stability criteria than the existing ones for the systems under consideration. Numerical examples show that the proposed criteria improve the existing results significantly with much less computational effort.  相似文献
