A simple approach to control the attachment of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) onto the indium tin oxide (ITO) surfaces is reported. Adjusting the concentration of trisodium citrate in the Au colloid solution for the seeding process from 1 to 50 mM in the seed-mediated growth method, the dramatic changes in the SEM images and actual color were observed indicating the changes in nanostructures of AuNPs formed on the ITO surfaces. Whereas the attachment of smaller AuNPs with higher density were observed when 25 mM citrate ions were added in the seed solution, larger AuNPs were observed to attach at 50 mM. On the basis of this difference and the surface SEM images observed just after seeding, the roles of citrate ions were discussed. Consequently, it was inferred that the citrate ions affected the growth process as well as the seeding process. The repulsive power expected from the increased negative charges of citrate ions were not significant, but rather the dense attachment was promoted as the peculiar effect of citrate ions. Such control of the AuNPs attachment on ITO would be practically effective because the dense attachment can be performed by just changing the composition of the seed solution.  相似文献

Synthesizing gold nanorods (AuNRs) by seed-mediated growth method results in the presence of undesired size and shape particles by-products occupying 10–90% of the population. In this study, AuNRs are synthesized by the seed-mediated growth method using cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) as a surfactant. AuNRs with redshifted longitudinal localized surface plasmon resonance (LLSPR) peak, localized in the biological “transparency window” (650–1350 nm), are synthesized after optimizing seed solution, silver nitrate solution, and hydrochloric acid solution volumes, based on the published protocols. A two-step purification method, dialysis followed by centrifugation, is applied to remove excess CTAB and collect LLSPR-redshifted AuNRs with high rod purity (>90%). CTAB is subsequently exchanged with polyethylene glycol (PEG) to improve AuNRs biocompatibility. PEGylated AuNRs are confirmed innocuous to both SN4741 cells and B16F10 cells by the modified MTT assay and the modified lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) assay up to 1 nm and 24 h incubation. In this study, a combined facile synthesis, purification, and surface functionalization approach is proposed to obtain water-dispersible monodispersed AuNRs for drug delivery applications.  相似文献

The ferrihydrite mineral core of ferritin is a semi-conductor capable of catalyzing oxidation/reduction reactions. This report shows that ferritin can photoreduce AuCl4 to form gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). An important goal was to identify innocent reaction conditions that prevented formation of AuNPs unless the sample was illuminated in the presence of ferritin. TRIS buffer satisfied this requirement and produced AuNPs with spherical morphology with diameters of 5.7 ± 1.6 nm and a surface plasmon resonance (SPR) peak at 530 nm. Size-exclusion chromatography of the AuNP–ferritin reaction mixture produced two fractions containing both ferritin and AuNPs. TEM analysis of the fraction close to where native ferritin normally elutes showed that AuNPs form inside ferritin. The other peak eluted at a volume indicating a particle size much larger than ferritin. TEM analysis revealed AuNPs adjacent to ferritin molecules suggesting that a dimeric ferritin–AuNP species forms. We propose that the ferritin protein shell acts as a nucleation site for AuNP formation leading to the AuNP-ferritin dimeric species. Ferrihydrite nanoparticles (~10 nm diameter) were unable to produce soluble AuNPs under identical conditions unless apo ferritin was present indicating that the ferritin protein shell was essential for stabilizing AuNPs in aqueous solution.  相似文献

The mechanisms related to the initial stages of the nucleation and growth of antimony selenide (Sb2Se3) semiconductor compounds onto the indium-doped tin oxides (ITO) coated glass surface have been investigated using chronoamperometry (CA) technique. The fabrication was conducted from nitric acid bath containing both Sb3+ and SeO2 species at ambient conditions. No underpotential deposition (UPD) of antimony and selenium onto ITO substrate was observed in the investigated systems indicating a weak precursor-substrate interaction. Deposition of antimony and selenium onto ITO substrate occurred with large overvoltage through 3D nucleation and growth mechanism followed by diffusion limited growth. FE-SEM and XRD results show that orthorhombic phase Sb2Se3 particles with their size between 90 and 125 nm were obtained and the atomic ratio for antimony and selenium was 2:2.63 according to the EDX results.  相似文献

In the present study TiO2 films were deposited by spray pyrolysis method onto ITO covered glass and Si (1 0 0) substrates. The spray solution containing titanium(IV) isopropoxide, acetylacetone and ethanol was sprayed at a substrate temperature of 450 °C employing 1-125 spray pulses (1 s spray and 30 s pause). According to AFM, continuous coverage of ITO and Si substrates with TiO2 layer is formed by 5-10 and below 5 spray pulses, respectively. XPS studies revealed that TiO2 film growth on Si substrate using up to 4 spray pulses follows 2D or layer-by-layer-growth. Above 4 spray pulses, 3D or island growth becomes dominant irrespective of the substrate. Only 50 spray pulses result in TiO2 layer with the thickness more than XPS measurement escape depth as any signal from the substrate could not be detected. TiO2 grain size remains 30 nm on ITO and increases from 10-20 nm to 50-100 nm on Si substrate with the number of spray pulses from 1 to 125.  相似文献

The authors have successfully synthesized Pd-on-Pt (thickness: 12 nm) and Au-on-Pt bimetallic nanosheaths on multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) via a seed-mediated growth approach. Pt nanoparticles as seeds were pre-deposited on MWCNTs with uniform distribution followed by the successive seed-mediated growth of metal atoms reduced by a weak reducing agent, ascorbic acid. The essential role of pre-deposited nanoseed particles on MWCNTs was demonstrated. The as-prepared materials were characterization by transition electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and element mapping tools. The current strategy extends the classical seed-mediated growth method to prepare bimetallic nanosheath on MWCNT support.  相似文献

A compact bench‐top system based on a dielectric barrier plasma discharge (DBD), enables the rapid, automatable, and continuous‐flow synthesis of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) and radioactive gold nanoparticles (198AuNPs). AuNPs are used as radiosensitizers in oncology, and 198AuNPs (half‐life: 2.7 d) have been suggested as potential cancer brachytherapy sources. Plasma applied at the surface of a liquid containing gold ions (AuCl4?) and dextran induces the production of AuNPs directly in water. This synthesis is monitored in real time by UV–visible spectrometry: the change of absorbance of the solution provides new insights on the growth dynamics of AuNPs by plasma synthesis. By balancing gold ions and surfactant molecules, particles with a diameter lying in the optimal range for radiosensitizing applications (28 ± 9 nm) are produced. The method yields a reduction of more than 99% of the gold ions within only 30 min of plasma treatment. A postsynthesis ripening of the AuNPs is revealed, monitored by UV–visible spectrometry, and quantified within the first few hours following plasma treatment. Radioactive 198AuNPs are also produced by DBD synthesis and characterized by electron microscopy and single‐photon emission computed tomography imaging. The results confirm the efficiency of DBD reactors for AuNPs synthesis in oncology applications.  相似文献

An improvement in the previously reported seed-mediated chemical synthesis of gold nanorods (GNRs) is reported. Monodisperse GNRs have been synthesized in a one-step protocol. The addition of controlled quantity of sodium borohydride (NaBH4) directly into the growth solution produced uniform GNRs, formed by in situ nucleation and growth. In order to arrive at the conclusion, we studied the formation of GNRs with various seeds, of metals of widely differing crystal structures, and there were no variations in the properties of the GNRs formed. The role of NaBH4 in the growth of GNR, which has not been covered in previous reports, is discussed in detail. The dependence of longitudinal plasmon peak on the concentration of NaBH4 is compared with the dependence of residual concentration of NaBH4 in the seed solution, which is added to the growth solution in seed-mediated synthesis. The study shows that NaBH4 plays an important role in the formation of GNRs. This proposed protocol offers a number of advantages: one-step preparation of GNRs, significant reduction in the preparation time to 10 min, high monodispersity of GNRs, and tailorability of the aspect ratio depending on NaBH4 concentration. It is suggested that NaBH4 added to the growth solution leads to in situ formation of the seed particles of the size of 3–5 nm which enables the growth of GNRs. The growth of GNRs suggested here is likely to have an impact on the preparation of other anisotropic structures. Our single-pot methodology makes the procedure directly adaptable for commercial-scale production of GNRs and for their synthesis even in undergraduate laboratories.  相似文献

Gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) having variety of sizes and shape were prepared using the template synthesis approach. Porous silicon (PSi) was fabricated using the pulsed electrochemical anodization method at different pause times, Toff as template for gold deposition. Choosing suitable pulse parameter produces PSi with higher porosity and smaller crystallite size. SEM showed that the variation of Toff affects the pores formation and the growth of gold nanoparticles while EDX suggested the presence of Au inside the pores structure. Photoluminescence spectra showed emission enhancement and a blue shifted relative to porous silicon before deposited with AuNPs. XRD shows a high degree crystallinity of the samples and the presence of cubic gold with crystalline sizes was around 42 nm.  相似文献

We investigated the influence of excimer-laser annealing (ELA) on the electrical, chemical, and structural properties of indium–tin oxide (ITO) films prepared by a solution process. The ITO film was prepared by the sol-gel method and annealed by excimer-laser pulses with an energy density up to 240?mJ/cm2. Hall measurements showed that the ELA substantially enhanced the electrical properties of the ITO films, including their resistivity, carrier density, and mobility, as increasing the laser energy density. In-depth x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis of the chemical states in the film surface showed that the ELA reduced carbon species and promoted both an oxidation and crystallization. These changes were consistent with results of x-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy measurements, where expansions in the microcrystal growth were observed for higher laser energy density. We comprehensively understand that the chemical rearrangement and concomitant crystallization are the main factors for achieving the electrical properties during the ELA. These results suggest the potential of the ELA-treated sol-gel films for providing high-quality ITO films at low temperatures toward the flexible device applications.  相似文献

Biosynthesis and characterizations of nanoparticles have become an important branch of nanotechnology. In this paper, green synthesis of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) and silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using the flower extract of Rosa damascena as a reducing and stabilizing agent, has been discussed. This approach is simple, cost-effective and stable for a long time, reproducible at room temperature and in an eco-friendly manner to obtain a self-assembly of AuNPs and AgNPs. The resulting nanoparticles are characterized using UV–vis, TEM, XRD and FT-IR spectroscopic techniques. A modified glassy carbon electrode using AuNPs (AuNPs/GCE) was investigated by means of cyclic voltammetry in a solution of 0.1 M KCl and 5.0×10−3 M [Fe(CN)6]3−/4−. The results show that electronic transmission rate between the modified electrode and [Fe(CN)6]3−/4− increased.  相似文献

Tin sulfide (SnS) thin films have been deposited by electrodeposition using potentiostaic method on indium doped tin oxide (ITO) coated glass substrates from aqueous solution containing SnCl2·2H2O and Na2S2O3 at various potentials. Good quality thin films were obtained at a cathodic potential −1000 mV versus saturated calomel electrode (SCE). The deposited films were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR). X-ray diffraction analysis shows that the crystal structure of SnS thin films is orthorhombic with preferential orientation along 〈0 2 1〉 plane. Microstructural parameters such as crystallite size, micro strain, and dislocation density are calculated and found to depend upon cathodic potentials. SEM studies reveal that the SnS films exhibited uniformly distributed grains over the entire surface of the substrate. The optical transmittance studies showed that the direct band gap of SnS is 1.1 eV. FTIR was used to further characterize the SnS films obtained at various potentials.  相似文献

We demonstrated the growth profile of stimulated Raman anti‐Stokes scattering (SRS) of carbon disulfide (CS2) influenced by fluorescence seeding of all‐trans‐β‐carotene and rhodamine‐B (RhB) in liquid‐core optical fiber (LCOF). The pump energy which was needed to build up the first‐order anti‐Stokes radiation of CS2 solutions with the fluorescence seeding was lower than that of CS2 solutions without fluorescence seeding because of the fluorescence enhancement effect on the intensity of the first‐order Stokes radiation. The first‐order anti‐Stokes radiation of the RhB solution (10−8 M ) was built up at a lower pump energy than that of the all‐trans‐β‐carotene solution (10−6 M ), and the intensity of the first‐order anti‐Stokes radiation of the RhB solution was higher than that of the all‐trans‐β‐carotene solution. Simultaneously, the coupled wave differential equations were obtained by the theoretical derivation, and the growth profile of the first‐order anti‐Stokes radiation was theoretically calculated with and without the fluorescence seeding by these equations. The electrodeposition of Au on Pt(1 1 1) from electrolytes containing μM concentrations of was studied by in situ scanning tunneling microscopy. Under these conditions the Au flux is limited by diffusion in the electrolyte over a wide potential range, which allows to assess the effect of the electrochemical environment on the growth kinetics. Similar to gas phase metal deposition Au film growth proceeds via nucleation and lateral growth of Au monolayer islands, with the saturation island density strongly depending on the deposition potential and on the anion species in the electrolyte. For deposition in H2SO4 solution the saturation island density continuously increases with increasing potential between −0.2 and 0.5 V (SCE), whereas in Cl-containing H2SO4 it first decreases and then increases again. Following nucleation and growth theories this behavior can be attributed to potential-induced changes of the Au surface mobility, caused by changes in the density and structure of coadsorbed sulfate/bisulfate and chloride adlayers. Under conditions of high Au surface mobility multilayer growth proceeds via a typical Stranski-Krastanov growth mode, with layer-by-layer growth of a pseudomorphic Au film up to 2 ML and 3D growth of structurally relaxed islands at higher coverage, indicating thermodynamic control under these conditions.  相似文献

Fully microcrystalline silicon, μc-Si, thin films have been deposited on corning glass by plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) using SiH4-H2. The effects of the surface treatment and of the deposition temperature on microstructure of μc-Si films are investigated by “in situ” laser reflectance interferometry (LRI), “ex situ” spectroscopic ellipsometry (SE) and Raman spectroscopy. LRI indicated the existence of a “crystalline seeding time”, which is indicative of the crystallite nucleation, and depends on substrate treatments. Longer “crystalline seeding time” results in a lower density of crystalline nuclei, which grow laterally, yielding to complete suppression of the amorphous incubation layer and to growth of very dense, fully crystalline layer at a growth temperature as low as 120 °C.  相似文献

The depth profile of ITO on glass was measured by the time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectroscopy (TOFSIMS) which revealed high sodium (Na) ion concentration at the ITO surface as well as at the ITO–glass interface as a result of out diffusion with substrate heating. Effects of Na ions on the performance of organic light-emitting diode (OLED) were studied by etching away a few tens of nanometers off the ITO surface with a dilute aquaregia solution of HNO3:HCl:H2O. A single-layer, molecularly doped ITO/(PVK+TPD+Alq3)/Al OLEDs were fabricated on bare and etched ITO samples. Although the removal of a 10-nm layer of ITO surface increased the voltage range, brightness, and lifetime, it was insufficient to correlate these improvements with solely to the Na ion reduction without considering the surface roughness.  相似文献

Amino ion implantation was carried out at the energy of 80 keV with fluence of 5 × 1015 ions cm−2 for indium tin oxide film (ITO) coated glass, and the existence of amino group on the ITO surface was verified by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis and Fourier transform infrared spectra. Scanning electron microscopy images show that multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) directly attached to the amino ion implanted ITO (NH2/ITO) surface homogeneously and stably. The resulting MWCNTs-attached NH2/ITO (MWCNTs/NH2/ITO) substrate can be used as electrode material. Cyclic voltammetry results indicate that the MWCNTs/NH2/ITO electrode shows excellent electrochemical properties and obvious electrocatalytic activity towards uric acid, thus this material is expected to have potential in electrochemical analysis and biosensors.  相似文献

In this work, the effect of tin-doped indium oxide (ITO) film as capping layer on the agglomeration of copper film and the appearance of copper silicide was studied. Both samples of Cu 100 nm/ITO 10 nm/Si and ITO 20 nm/Cu 100 nm/ITO 10 nm/Si were prepared by sputtering deposition. After annealing in a rapid thermal annealing (RTA) furnace at various temperatures for 5 min in vacuum, the samples were characterized by four probe measurement for sheet resistance, X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis for phase identification, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) for surface morphology and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) for microstructure. The results show that the sample with ITO capping layer is a good diffusion barrier between copper and silicon at least up to 750 °C, which is 100 °C higher than that of the sample without ITO capping layer. The failure temperature of the sample with ITO capping layer is about 800 °C, which is 100 °C higher than that of the sample without ITO capping layer. The ITO capping layer on Cu/ITO/Si can obstacle the agglomeration of copper film and the appearance of Cu3Si phase.  相似文献

In this study, the electron beam evaporation method is used to generate an indium tin oxide (ITO) thin film on a glass substrate at room temperature. The surface characteristics of this ITO thin film are then investigated by means of an AFM (atomic force microscopy) method. The influence of postgrowth thermal annealing on the microstructure and surface morphology of ITO thin films are also examined. The results demonstrate that the film annealed at higher annealing temperature (300 °C) has higher surface roughness, which is due to the aggregation of the native grains into larger clusters upon annealing. The fractal analysis reveals that the value of fractal dimension Df falls within the range 2.16-2.20 depending upon the annealing temperatures and is calculated by the height-height correlation function.  相似文献
