We prove a dichotomy of C2 partially hyperbolic sets with one-dimensional center direction admitting no zero Lyapunov exponents, either hyperbolicity over the supports of ergodic measures or approximation by a heterodimensional cycle. This provides a partial result to the C1 Palis Conjecture that claims a dichotomy, hyperbolicity or homoclinic bifurcations in a dense subset of the space of C1 diffeomorphisms. Moreover, a theorem of Ma?é applied in the proof is modified to have an additional property concerning the Hausdorff distance between a periodic orbit and the support of a hyperbolic ergodic measure.  相似文献

Here we study an amazing phenomenon discovered by Newhouse [S. Newhouse, Non-density of Axiom A(a) on S2, in: Proc. Sympos. Pure Math., vol. 14, Amer. Math. Soc., 1970, pp. 191-202; S. Newhouse, Diffeomorphisms with infinitely many sinks, Topology 13 (1974) 9-18; S. Newhouse, The abundance of wild hyperbolic sets and nonsmooth stable sets of diffeomorphisms, Publ. Math. Inst. Hautes Études Sci. 50 (1979) 101-151]. It turns out that in the space of Cr smooth diffeomorphisms Diffr(M) of a compact surface M there is an open set U such that a Baire generic diffeomorphism fU has infinitely many coexisting sinks. In this paper we make a step towards understanding “how often does a surface diffeomorphism have infinitely many sinks.” Our main result roughly says that with probability one for any positive D a surface diffeomorphism has only finitely many localized sinks either of cyclicity bounded by D or those whose period is relatively large compared to its cyclicity. It verifies a particular case of Palis' Conjecture saying that even though diffeomorphisms with infinitely many coexisting sinks are Baire generic, they have probability zero.One of the key points of the proof is an application of Newton Interpolation Polynomials to study the dynamics initiated in [V. LetM be aC closed manifold and Diff1 (M) be the space of diffeomorphisms ofM endowed with theC 1 topology. This paper contains an affirmative answer to the following conjecture raised by Mañé, which is an extension of the stability and Ω-stability conjectures of Palis and Smale, as follows: theC 1 interior of the subset of diffeomorphism such that all the periodic points are hyperbolic is characterized as the set of diffeomorphisms satisfying Axiom A and the no-cycles condition. Moreover, it is showed that theC 1 interior of the set of all Kupka-Smale diffeomorphisms coincides with the set of all diffeomorphisms satisfying Axiom A and the strong transversality condition.  相似文献

Given a planar vector field U which generates the Lie symmetry of some other vector field X, we prove a new criterion to control the stability of the periodic orbits of U. The problem is linked to a classical problem proposed by A.T. Winfree in the seventies about the existence of isochrons of limit cycles (the question suggested by the study of biological clocks), already answered by Guckenheimer using a different terminology. We apply our criterion to give upper bounds of the number of limit cycles for some families of vector fields as well as to provide a class of vector fields with a prescribed number of hyperbolic limit cycles. Finally we show how this procedure solves the problem of the hyperbolicity of periodic orbits in problems where other criteria, like the classical one of the divergence, fail.  相似文献

We study Morse--Smale diffeomorphisms of n-manifolds with four periodic points which are the only periodic points. We prove that for n= 3 these diffeomorphisms are gradient-like and define a class of diffeomorphisms inevitably possessing a nonclosed heteroclinic curve. For n 4, we construct a complete conjugacy invariant in the class of diffeomorphisms with a single saddle of codimension one.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the periodic diffeomorphisms on homotopy E(4) surfaces. Under some conditions, we prove the non-existence of periodic diffeomorphisms of odd prime order that act trivially on the cohomology of elliptic surfaces E(4). We prove that the chain-transitive sets of C1-generic diffeomorphisms are approximated in the Hausdorff topology by periodic orbits. This implies that the homoclinic classes are dense among the chain-recurrence classes. This result is a consequence of a global connecting lemma, which allows to build by a C1-perturbation an orbit connecting several prescribed points. One deduces a weak shadowing property satisfied by C1-generic diffeomorphisms: any pseudo-orbit is approximated in the Hausdorff topology by a finite segment of a genuine orbit. As a consequence, we obtain a criterion for proving the tolerance stability conjecture in Diff1(M).  相似文献

In this paper we study the problem on embedding germs of smooth diffeomorphisms in flows in higher dimensional spaces. First we prove the existence of embedding vector fields for a local diffeomorphism with its nonlinear term a resonant polynomial. Then using this result and the normal form theory, we obtain a class of local Ck diffeomorphisms for kN∪{∞,ω} which admit embedding vector fields with some smoothness. Finally we prove that for any kN∪{∞} under the coefficient topology the subset of local Ck diffeomorphisms having an embedding vector field with some smoothness is dense in the set of all local Ck diffeomorphisms.  相似文献

This paper introduces the notion of robust hyperbolicity along periodic orbits homoclinically related to p (RNUHP) for conservative diffeomorphisms. It is proved that if fDiff1+ m (M) is RNUHP, then f is Anosov. It is also shown that f admits a dominated splitting, provided that f is expansive conservative stable.  相似文献

We study bifurcations of Morse-Smale diffeomorphisms under a change of the embedding of the separatrices of saddle periodic points in the ambient 3-manifold. The results obtained are based on the following statement proved in this paper: for the 3-sphere, the space of diffeomorphisms of North Pole-South Pole type endowed with the C 1 topology is connected. We consider the class G 4 of Morse—Smale diffeomorphisms on $ \mathbb{S} $ 3 with nonwandering set consisting of four fixed points (namely, one saddle, two sinks, and one source). According to Pixton, this class contains a diffeomorphism that does not have an energy function, i.e., a Lyapunov function whose set of critical points coincides with the set of periodic points of the diffeomorphism itself. We define a quasi-energy function for any Morse—Smale diffeomorphism as a Lyapunov function with the least number of critical points. Next, we single out the class G 4,1 ? G 4 of diffeomorphisms inducing a special Heegaard splitting of genus 1 of the sphere $ \mathbb{S} $ 3. For each diffeomorphism in G 4,1, we present a quasi-energy function with six critical points.  相似文献

We consider self-diffeomorphisms of the plane of the class C r (1 ?? r < ??) with a fixed hyperbolic point and a nontransversal point homoclinic to it. Let Λ be an isolated non-trivial transitive set of a C 1 generic diffeomorphism f ∈ Diff (M ). We show that the space of invariant measures supported on Λ coincides with the space of accumulation measures of time averages on one orbit. Moreover, the set of points having this property is residual in Λ (which implies that the set of irregular+ points is also residual in Λ). As an application, we show that the non-uniform hyperbolicity of irregular+ points in Λ with totally 0 measure (resp., the non-uniform hyperbolicity of a generic subset in Λ) determines the uniform hyperbolicity of Λ.  相似文献

We study the formal conjugacy properties of germs of complex analytic diffeomorphisms defined in the neighborhood of the origin of ? n . More precisely, we are interested in the nature of formal conjugations along the fixed points set. We prove that there are formally conjugated local diffeomorphisms ??, ?? such that every formal conjugation $\hat \sigma$ (i.e. $\eta \circ \hat \sigma = \hat \sigma \circ \phi$ ) does not extend to the fixed points set Fix(??) of ??, meaning that it is not transversally formal (or semi-convergent) along Fix(??). We focus on unfoldings of 1-dimensional tangent to the identity diffeomorphisms. We identify the geometrical configurations preventing formal conjugations to extend to the fixed points set: roughly speaking, either the unperturbed fiber is singular or generic fibers contain multiple fixed points.  相似文献

We prove that any C1-stable weakly shadowable volume-preserving diffeomorphism defined on a compact manifold displays a dominated splitting E ⊕ F. Moreover, both E and F are volume-hyperbolic. Finally, we prove the version of this result for divergence-free vector fields. As a consequence, in low dimensions, we obtain global hyperbolicity.  相似文献

We study partially hyperbolic attractors ofC 2 diffeomorphisms on a compact manifold. For a robust (non-empty interior) class of such diffeomorphisms, we construct Sinai-Ruelle-Bowen measures, for which we prove exponential decay of correlations and the central limit theorem, in the space of Hölder continuous functions. The techniques we develop (backward inducing, redundancy elimination algorithm) should be useful in the study of the stochastic properties of much more general non-uniformly hyperbolic systems.  相似文献

We investigate the dynamical behaviour of a holomorphic map on an f-invariant subset C of U, where . We study two cases: when U is an open, connected and polynomially convex subset of Ck and C?U, closed in U, and when ∂U has a p.s.h. barrier at each of its points and C is not relatively compact in U. In the second part of the paper, we prove a Birkhoff's type theorem for holomorphic maps in several complex variables, i.e. given an injective holomorphic map f, defined in a neighborhood of , with U star-shaped and f(U) a Runge domain, we prove the existence of a unique, forward invariant, maximal, compact and connected subset of which touches ∂U.  相似文献
