The structural stability and the elastic properties of a novel structure of lead titanate, which is named pre-perovskite PbTiO3 (PP-PTO) and is constructed with TiO6 octahedral columns arranged in a one-dimensional manner, are investigated by using first-principles calculations. PP-PTO is energetically unstable compared with conventional perovskite phases, however it is mechanically stable. The equilibrium transition pressures for changing from pre-perovskite to cubic and tetragonal phases are -0.5 GPa and -1.4 GPa, respectively, with first-order characteristics. Further, the differences in elastic properties between pre-perovskite and conventional perovskite phases are discussed for the covalent bonding network, which shows a highly anisotropic character in PP-PTO. This study provides a crucial insight into the structural stabilities of PP-PTO and conventional perovskite.  相似文献

采用密度泛函理论中的赝势平面波方法系统地研究了高压下RhB的结构相变、弹性性质、电子结构和硬度.分析表明,RhB在25.3 GPa时从anti-NiAs结构相变到FeB结构,这两种结构的弹性常数、体弹模量、剪切模量、杨氏模量和弹性各向异性因子的外压力效应明显.电子态密度的计算结果显示,这两种结构是金属性的,且费米能级附近的峰随着压强的增大向两侧移动,赝能隙变宽,轨道杂化增强,共价性增强,非局域化更加明显.此外,硬度计算结果显示,anti-NiAs-RhB的金属性比较弱,有着较高的硬度,属于硬质材料.  相似文献

采用第一性原理研究了CdS的六方纤锌矿(WZ), 立方闪锌矿(ZB) 和岩盐矿(RS)相在高压条件下的相稳定性、 相变点、电子结构以及弹性性能.WZ相与RS 相可以在相应的压强范围内稳定存在, 而ZB相不能稳定存在.压强大于2.18 GPa时, WZ相向RS相发生金属化相变.WZ相中S原子电负性大于Cd, 且电负性差值小于1.7, CdS的WZ相为共价晶体.高压作用下, S原子半径被强烈压缩, 有效核电荷增加, 对层外电子吸引能力提高, 电负性急剧增大, 导致S与Cd的电负性差值大于1.7, CdS的RS相以离子晶体存在. WZ相的C44随压强增加呈下降趋势, 导致WZ相力学不稳定, 并向RS相转变.当压强大于2.18 GPa时, RS相C11, C12随压强增加而增大, 并且C44保持稳定, 说明RS相具有良好的高压稳定性与力学性能. 关键词: 第一性原理 相变 电子结构 弹性性质  相似文献

采用基于密度泛函理论结合投影缀加平面波方法的VASP软件包,在考虑所有掺杂原子构型的前提下,对Cd掺杂ZnO合金的晶格常数、禁带宽度、电子态密度和形成焓进行了计算,分析了Cd含量和掺杂原子构型对纤锌矿wz-Zn1-xCdxO合金的电子结构和结构稳定性的影响.计算结果表明:随着Cd含量的不断增加,纤锌矿ZnCdO合金的平均晶格常数a,c均线性增加,但c/a的比值不会发生显著的变化;纤锌矿ZnCd 关键词: 密度泛函理论 ZnCdO合金 电子结构 形成焓  相似文献

Under high pressure, the long believed single-phase material CaB6 was latterly discovered to have a new phase tI56. Based on the density-functional theory, the pressure effects on the structural and elastic properties of CaB6 are obtained. The calculated bulk, shear, and Young's moduli of the recently synthesized high pressure phase tI56-CaB6 are larger than those of the low pressure phase. Moreover, the high pressure phase of CaB6 has ductile behaviors, and its ductility increases with the increase of pressure. On the contrary, the calculated results indicate that the low pressure phase of CaB6 is brittle. The calculated Debye temperature indicates that the thermal conductivity of CaB6 is not very good. Furthermore, based on the Christoffel equation, the slowness surface of the acoustic waves is obtained.  相似文献

The structural, elastic, electronic and thermodynamic properties of the rhombohedral topological insulator Bi2Se3 are investigated by the generalized gradient approximation (GGA) with the Wu–Cohen (WC) exchange-correlation functional. The calculated lattice constants agree well with the available experimental and other theoretical data. Our GGA calculations indicate that Bi2Se3 is a 3D topological insulator with a band gap of 0.287 eV, which are well consistent with the experimental value of 0.3 eV. The pressure dependence of the elastic constants Cij, bulk modulus B, shear modulus G, Young’s modulus E, and Poisson’s ratio σ of Bi2Se3 are also obtained successfully. The bulk modulus obtained from elastic constants is 53.5 GPa, which agrees well with the experimental value of 53 GPa. We also investigate the shear sound velocity VS, longitudinal sound velocity VL, and Debye temperature ΘE from our elastic constants, as well as the thermodynamic properties from quasi-harmonic Debye model. We obtain that the heat capacity Cv and the thermal expansion coefficient α at 0 GPa and 300 K are 120.78 J mol?1 K?1 and 4.70 × 10?5 K?1, respectively.  相似文献

采用基于密度泛函理论的第一性原理方法,在局域密度近似(LDA)下研究了厚度为0.626~2.711nm (100)面BaHfO3薄膜的电子结构、光学和弹性性质.电子结构和光学性质计算结果表明:以BaO为表面层原子的BaHfO3纳米薄膜均为直接带隙半导体材料,带隙随薄膜厚度减小而逐渐减小,表现出明显的量子尺寸效应,此时薄膜的光学吸收边发生红移,吸收带出现窄化现象.以HfO2作为表面层原子的BaHfO3薄膜则属于间接带隙半导体材料,且带隙随薄膜厚度减小而微弱增加.弹性性质计算结果表明:体弹模量、剪切模量和杨氏模量等表征材料硬度的力学参数均随BaHfO3纳米薄膜厚度减小而显著减小,呈现尺寸效应.电荷密度分布分析揭示了薄膜厚度改变了BaHfO3纳米薄膜的价健特性,这是材料硬度改变的内在原因.该研究结果为BaHfO3纳米薄膜材料的设计与应用提供了理论依据.  相似文献

The phase transition, elastic and electronic properties of three phases(phase Ⅰ,Ⅱ, and Ⅲ) of Sb_2Te_3 are investigated by using the generalized gradient approximation(GGA) with the PBESOL exchange–correlation functional in the framework of density-functional theory. Some basic physical parameters, such as lattice constants, bulk modulus, shear modulus,Young's modulus, Poisson's ratio, acoustic velocity, and Debye temperature Θ are calculated. The obtained lattice parameters under various pressures are consistent with experimental data. Phase transition pressures are 9.4 GPa(Ⅰ→Ⅱ) and 14.1 GPa(Ⅱ→Ⅲ), which are in agreement with the experimental results. According to calculated elastic constants, we also discuss the ductile or brittle characters and elastic anisotropies of three phases. Phases Ⅰ and Ⅲ are brittle, while phaseⅡ is ductile. Of the three phases, phaseⅡ has the most serious degree of elastic anisotropy and phase Ⅲ has the slightest one.Finally, we investigate the partial densities of states(PDOSs) of three phases and find that the three phases possess some covalent features.  相似文献

The structural and elastic properties of CrO2 in the rutile phase under high pressures have been investigated using pseudopotential plane-wave method based on density functional theory. The optimized lattice parameters and the bulk modulus at zero pressure agree well with available experimental and theoretical data. The elastic constants C 11, C 12, C 44, C 33, C 13, and C 66 at zero pressure are calculated to be 359.91, 264.69, 143.28, 309.45, 218.45, and 260.74 GPa, respectively. Elastic constants, bulk modulus, shear modulus, Young's modulus, and Poisson's ratio under pressures are obtained. Our results indicate that the rutile phase is mechanically stable below 11.99 GPa. The elastic anisotropy of rutile phase under pressures has also been predicted.  相似文献

We theoretically study the possible pressure-induced structural phase transition, electronic and elastic properties of ZrC by using first-principles calculations based on density functional theory (DFT), in the presence and absence of spin-orbit coupling (SOC). The calculations indicate that there exists a phase transition from the NaCl-type (B1) structure to CsCl-type (B2) structure at the transition pressure of 313.2 GPa (without SOC) and 303.5 GPa (with SOC). The detailed structural changes during the phase transition were analyzed. The band structure shows that B1-ZrC is metallic. A pseudogap appears around the Fermi level of the total density of states (DOS) of the B1 phase of ZrC, which may contribute to its structural stability.  相似文献

This paper carries out the First principles calculation of the crystal structures (zinc blende (B3) and rocksalt (B1)) and phase transition of boron arsenic (BAs) based on the density-functional theory. Using the relation between enthalpy and pressure, it finds that the transition phase from the B3 structural to the B1 structural occurs at the pressure of 113.42GPa. Then the elastic constants C11, C12, C44, bulk modulus, shear modulus, Young modulus, anisotropy factor, Kleinman parameter and Poisson ratio are discussed in detail for two polymorphs of BAs. The results of the structural parameters and elastic properties in B3 structure are in good agreement with the available theoretical and experimental values.  相似文献

The structural, elastic, electronic properties and Debye temperature of Ni3Ta under different pressures are investigated using the first-principles method based on density functional theory. Our calculated equilibrium lattice parameters at 0 GPa well agree with the experimental and previous theoretical results. The calculated negative formation enthalpies and elastic constants both indicate that Ni3Ta is stable under different pressures. The bulk modulus B, shear modulus G, Young’s modulus E and Poisson’s ratio ν are calculated by the Voigt–Reuss–Hill method. The bigger ratio of B/G indicates Ni3Ta is ductile and the pressure can improve the ductility of Ni3Ta. In addition, the results of density of states and the charge density difference show that the stability of Ni3Ta is improved by the increasing pressure. The Debye temperature Θ D calculated from elastic modulus increases along with the pressure.  相似文献

This paper studies the equilibrium structure parameters and the dependences of the elastic properties on pressure for rutile TiO2 by using the Cambridge Serial Total Energy Package (CASTEP) program in the frame of density functional theory. The obtained equilibrium structure parameters, bulk modulus B0 and its pressure derivative B′0 are in good agreement with experiments and the theoretical results. The six independent elastic constants of rutile TiO2 under pressure are theoretically investigated for the first time. It is found that, as pressure increases, the elastic constants C11, C33, C66, C12 and C13 increase, The variation of elastic constant C44 is not obvious and the anisotropy will weaken.  相似文献

钛酸铅(PTO)因具有优异的铁电、压电特性及光学性质而备受关注.但B、N掺杂对顺电相PTO电子结构和光学性质的影响还不明确,因此,利用第一性原理对立方PTO开展准确的性质预测尤为必要.本文采用广义梯度近似的PBE泛函(GGA-PBE)和杂化泛函(HSE06)研究了B、N替位掺杂(BO、NO)和O空位(VO)对PTO的基态性质、电子结构和光学性质的影响.研究表明:贫氧态的PTO比富氧态更容易形成杂质缺陷,且NO缺陷最难形成.当BO、NO缺陷存在时,PTO的价带顶和导带底向低能量方向移动,在两者之间出现杂质能级,使其导电性能提高且含BO的PTO为间接带隙半导体,而含NO的PTO为直接带隙半导体. NO体系在波长大约为230 nm处有最大吸收峰,该峰主要源于O 2p和Ti 3d之间的电子跃迁,且NO体系对可见光的吸收能力最强,有望提高PTO的光催化能力.  相似文献

The structural, elastic, electronic and optical properties of the monoclinic BiScO3 are investigated in the framework of the density functional theory. The calculated structural parameters are in agreement with the experimental values. Moreover, the structural stability of BiScO3 system has been confirmed by the calculated elastic constants. The band structure, density of states, charge transfers and bond populations are also given. The results indicate that BiScO3 has a direct band gap of 3.36 eV between the occupied O 2p states and unoccupied Bi 6p states, and its bonding behavior is a combination of covalent and ionic nature. Finally, the absorption spectrum, refractive index, extinction coefficient, reflectivity, energy-loss function and dielectric function of the monoclinic BiScO3 are calculated. In addition, the variation of the static dielectric constants ε1(0) as a function of pressure for BiScO3 is also discussed.  相似文献

A detailed theoretical study of the structural, elastic, and optical properties for Sr0.5Ca0.5TiO3 is carried out by first- principles calculations. The band structure exhibits a direct bandgap of 2.08 eV at the F point in the Brillouin zone. The bulk modulus, shear modulus, Young's modulus, and Poisson's ratio are derived based on the calculated elastic constants. The bulk modulus B = 153 GPa and shear modulus G = 81GPa are in good agreement with available experimental data. Poisson's ratio v = 0.275 suggests that Sr0.sCa0.sTiO3 should be classified as being a ductile material. Using the electronic band structure and density of states, we analyze the interband contribution to the optical properties. The real and imaginary parts of the dielectric function, as well as the optical properties such as the optical absorption coefficient, refractive index, extinction coefficient, and energy-loss spectrum are calculated. The static dielectric constant ε1 (0) and the refractive index n(0) are also investigated.  相似文献

The structural,elastic,electronic,optical,and vibrational properties of the orthorhombic Pd2Ga compound are investigated using the norm-conserving pseudopotentials within the local density approximation in the frame of density functional theory.The calculated lattice parameters have been compared with the experimental values and found to be in good agreement with these results.The second-order elastic constants and the other relevant quantities,such as the Young’s modulus,shear modulus,Poisson’s ratio,anisotropy factor,sound velocity,and Debye temperature,have been calculated.It is shown that this compound is mechanically stable after analysing the calculated elastic constants.Furthermore,the real and imaginary parts of the dielectric function and the optical constants,such as the optical dielectric constant and the effective number of electrons per unit cell,are calculated and presented.The phonon dispersion curves are derived using the direct method.The present results demonstrate that this compound is dynamically stable.  相似文献

The phase transition of ScSb and YSb from the NaCl-type (B1) structure to the CsCl-type (B2) structure is investigated by the ab initio plane-wave pseudopotential density functional theory method. It is found that the pressures for transition from the B1 structure to the B2 structure obtained from the equal enthalpies are 38.3 and 32.1 GPa for ScSb and YSb, respectively. From the variations of elastic constants with pressure, we find that the B1 phase of ScSb and YSb compounds are unstable when applied pressures are larger than 46.3 and 64.2 GPa, respectively. Moreover, the detailed volume changes during phase transition are analyzed.  相似文献
