A series of 4,4?-dialkoxy-3,3?-diaminobiphenyl compounds were synthesised by three-step procedure that involves alkylation, nitration and reduction reactions. Their chemical structures were characterised by FTIR, 1H and 13C spectroscopy and elemental analysis. Their thermotropic liquid–crystalline (LC) properties were examined by a number of experimental techniques including differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), polarising optical microscopy (POM) and variable temperature X-ray diffraction (VT-XRD). The 4,4?-dialkoxy-3,3?-dinitrobipheyl compounds, precursors to the diamine compounds, were also examined for their thermotropic LC properties. POM studies of focal conic textures and VT-XRD of the 3,3?-diaminobiphenyl derivatives having flexible alkyl chains (C6–C12) exhibited the smectic A (SmA) phase independent of the length of alkyl chains. Similarly, the 3,3?-dinitrobiphenyl derivatives containing alkyl chains C7, and C9–C11 exhibit the SmA phase, those containing C8 formed the smectic C (SmC) phase and C12 formed both the SmA and smectic B (SmB) phases, respectively. The 3,3?-diaminobiphenyl derivatives had excellent thermal stability in the temperature range of 237–329°C, while those of 3,3?-dinitrobiphenyl derivatives were in the temperature range of 270–321°C. The 3,3?-diaminobiphenyl derivatives emitted UV light both in chloroform and acetonitrile.  相似文献

Summary New complexes of 2,2-dipyridyl and 4,4-dipyridyl with thulium salts TmX 3 (whereX=Cl, Br, NO 3 , NCS, and ClO 4 ) have been prepared and their solubilities in water at 21 °C were determined. The IR spectra of these compounds are discussed. The conditions of thermal decomposition of the complexes were also studied.

Zusammenfassung Es wurden neue 2,2-Dipyridyl- und 4,4-Dipyridyl-Komplexen mit Thuliumsalzen TmX 3 (X=Cl, Br No 3 , NCS, ClO 4 ) dargestellt und ihre Wasserlöslihkeit bei 21 °C bestimmt. Die IR-Spektren werden diskutiert. Das thermische Verhalten der erhaltenen Komplexe wurde untersucht.

A method was developed for preparation of alkyl-(2,2-dipyridyl) amines, consisting of the reaction of alkyl halides with the N anion electrochemically generated from 2,2-dipyridylamine. The alkylation occurs regiospecifically, and CH2Cl2 can also be used as the methylating agent. 2,2′-Dihydroxy-4,4′-dimethoxybenzophenone (UV-D) is one of the benzophenones, which is widely used as UV filter to protect industrial and commercial products from light. This compound is suspected as a kind of endocrine-disrupting chemical, which might interfere with hormonal signaling pathways, and have potential adverse effects on human health. Thus, toxicity and metabolism of it could be important to know its biological effect. As little is known about the toxicokinetics and metabolism of UV-D, herein, the related study was performed on rats by orally administrating with UV-D. UV-D was found to be promptly metabolized to five main metabolites, which were further identified by high-performance liquid chromatography–quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry. Demethylation, hydroxylation, sulfonation, and glucuronidation were the main metabolic pathways for UV-D.  相似文献

Ruthenium(II) tris(2,2′-bipyridine) complexes show interesting photochemical properties1. Complexes containing substituents in the 4-and 4′-position of the 2,2′-bipyridine ligand have recently been used in systems which are aimed at the conversion and storage of solar energy2,3. 2,2′-Bipyridine has a long history as a metal-chelating agent4. The use of 4,4′-disubstituted bipyridines as metal-chelating agents so far has been restricted probably because the reported syntheses of these compounds are rather laborious and the yields are low or moderate5–8.  相似文献

New zinc(II) and mercury(II) complexes of 2,2′-diamino-4,4′-bis(1,3-thiazole) (DABTZ), [M(DABTZ)(CH3COO)2], have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR-, 1H NMR-, 13C NMR spectroscopy and studied by thermal analysis and X-ray crystallography. The structural characterization of the [Zn(DABTZ)(CH3COO)2] complex shows the complex to be a monomer and the Zn coordinated by two nitrogen atoms of the “DABTZ” ligand and four oxygen atoms of the acetate anions.  相似文献

This paper presents synthesis, structural characterization and spintronic applications of copper (II) tetradecanoate derived magnetic complexes. The complexes were prepared by a chemical reaction between [Cu2(CH3(CH2)12COO)4](EtOH)2 and 2,2′-bipyridine-4,4′-bipyridine ligands respectively. The complexes were further reacted between the product of the first reaction and 4,4′-bipyridine-2,2′-bipyridine respectively. The structural characterization techniques included elemental analysis, Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Ultra-violet–Visible (UV–Vis) spectroscopy, polarized optical microscopy, magnetic moment and thermogravimetric analysis. The structural and characterization results suggested that the synthesized complexes were binuclear and mononuclear covalent complexes of copper(II) with structural formulas [Cu22-(OOCR)4](4,4′-bpy)2H2O] and [Cu(η1-(OOCR)2(2,2′-bpy) (4,4′-bpy)] respectively.  相似文献

Magnetic birefringence has been used in studying the spatial structure of a series of dipyridyl derivatives in hydrochloric acid solutions, and also some of their quaternary salts in water. Trans-2,2′,4,4′-tetramethyl-6,6′-dinitro azobenzene (C16H16N4O4, Mr = 328.32) was isolated from benzene extract of the leaves of Aconitum sungpanense Hand. Mazz. as a new compound, and characterized by spectral methods and X-ray diffraction analysis. It crystallizes in monoclinic system, space group P21/c with a = 8.544(1), b = 13.997(2), c = 7.161(1) A, β = 112.97(1), V = 788.4(2)A3, Z = 4, Dc = 1.383 g/cm3, F(000) = 344 and μ(MoKα) = 0.102 mm-1. The final R = 0.0395 and wR = 0.1140 for 1913 independent reflections with Rint = 0.0109 and 1329 observed reflections with I > 2((I). Based on density functional theory with regard to the dispersion interaction the crystal structure and electronic properties of C4H8N12O6 and C4H8N10Cl2O8 are studied. Atomic structural parameters, bond populations, atomic charges, energy and spatial electron distributions are calculated. Differences in the studied characteristics caused by the non-equivalence of atoms are shown. A partially covalent nature of anion-cation bonds is revealed. The cationic nature of the lower unoccupied states is established, which results in a small band gap of ~1.7 eV as compared to other nitrates and perchlorates.  相似文献

Binuclear complexes [M2Cl4(-bpym)], where M = VO2+, FeII, CoII or CuII and bpym = 2,2-bipyrimidine, and [M2(hfacac)4(-bpym)] complexes, where hfacac = hexafluoroacetylacetonate and M = FeII, NiII or CoII have been synthesized and characterized by chemical analysis, conductance measurements, i.r., electronic and e.p.r spectroscopies and by magnetic susceptibility measurements (in the 4.2–291K range). CoII and FeII are in a high spin state. [(VO)2Cl4(-bpym)] is paramagnetic, without significant interactions. [Fe2Cl4(-bpym)] shows a singular behaviour explained by an antiferromagnetic intradimer exchange and a ferromagnetic interdimer interaction. All other complexes are antiferromagnetic, with an intramolecular exchange parameter, J, varying from –3.3 cm–1 for CoII/math> to –109 cm–1 for CuII.  相似文献

The heat capacity (C p m ) of 4,4′-dimethylbiphenyl and 4,4′-di-tert-butylbiphenyl in the temperature range of 8—373 K was measured by low-temperat ure adiabatic calorimetry, and thermodynamic characteristics of the solid-phase transitions of 4,4′-d i-tert-butylbiphenyl were determined. Temperatures, enthalpies, entropies of melting, and the purity of the samples of the tested substances were determined by means of differential scanning calorimetry. The main thermodynamic functions of the substances in the condensed state at 298 K were calculated.  相似文献

Two proton-conductive Cu(I) complexes based on Keggin-type clusters, [Cu(debqdc)2]2[HPW12O40]·4H2O (1), and [Cu(debqdc)2]2[HPW12O40]·debqdc·4H2O (2), where debqdc is diethyl 4,4′-dicarboxy-2,2′-biquinoline, were simply synthesized at room temperature. The products were structurally characterized by elemental analyses, infrared spectroscopy, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses revealed that both complexes crystallized in the triclinic space group P?1 and presented two three-dimensional supramolecular networks with one-dimensional hydrophilic channels via hydrogen-bonding interactions and π–π stacking interactions between the aromatic rings. In the [Cu(debqdc)2]+ ion, debqdc acts as a bidentate nitrogen donor ligand in the chelating fashion. The bulky debqdc ligand constrains the Cu(I) metal center within such a rigid environment in a tetrahedral geometry. The two complexes exhibit good proton conductivities (10?5 ~ 10?4 S cm?1) at 100 °C in the relative humidity range 35 ~ 98%. The luminescence behaviors of these complexes in the solid state at room temperature have also been investigated. Upon excitation at 285 nm, both 1 and 2 display three main emission peaks centered at 470, 520, and 568 nm, respectively.  相似文献

The absolute stereochemistry of axially chiral 2,2′-X2-9,9′-bianthryls (X=COOH, COOMe, and Cl) was determined by X-ray analysis of the (+)-quinidine salt of the diacid to be (M)-(−) or (P)-(+). The M isomers of these compounds showed specific rotations of −115, −123, and −32, respectively, in acetone. The circular dichroism (CD) as well as UV spectra of the two M isomers (X=COOMe and Cl) were investigated with the aid of theoretical calculations by the time-dependent DFT (TDDFT) method. The calculations reasonably reproduced the observed CD bands, and suggested a correlation between the signs of p or β′ bands and the absolute stereochemistry.  相似文献

Reactions of aromatic amines with 3,3′-bithiophene-2,2′-dicarbaldehyde 1 and 3,3′-bithiophene-4,4′-dicarbaldehyde 2 gave the 2,2′-(N-(aryl)diimino)-3,3′-bithiophene 3 and 4,4′-(N-(aryl)diimino)-3,3′-bithiophene 4 in good yields. Orthophenylenediamine reacted with 1 and 2 to give dithieno[3,4-c;4′,3′-e]azepino[1,2-a]benzimidazole 5 and dithieno[2,3-c;3′,2′-e]azepino[1,2-a]benzimidazole 6. All these original products have been characterized by spectroscopic techniques and elemental analysis.  相似文献

The work is devoted to a convenient procedure of the synthesis of 2,2′- and 4,4′-methylenebisphenols with alkyl substituents in heterogeneous catalysis. This compounds were obtained with yields up to 87% by reflux of 2,4- or 2,6-dialkylphenols with HCHO in n-octane in the presence of KSF clay. We found that the antioxidant activity on DPPH test for two novel methylenebisphenols having isobornyl fragments was comparable with control drugs.  相似文献

In this study, new complexes with formulae: Ce(4-bpy)(CHBr2COO)3·H2O, Ln(4-bpy)0.5(CHBr2COO)3·2H2O (where Ln(III) = Pr, Nd, Sm; 4-bpy = 4,4′-bipyridine) and Eu(4-bpy)(CHBr2COO)3·2H2O were prepared, and characterized by chemical and elemental analyses, and IR spectroscopy. The way of metal–ligand coordination was discussed. They are small crystalline. The complexes of Pr(III), Nd(III), and Sm(III) are isostructural in group. Conductivity studies (in methanol, dimethylformamide, and dimethylsulfoxide) were also performed and described. The thermal properties of complexes in the solid state were studied using TG–DTG techniques under dynamic flow of air atmosphere. TG–MS system was used to analyze principal volatile thermal decomposition and fragmentation products evolved during pyrolyses of Ce(III) and Sm(III) complexes in dynamic flow of air atmosphere.  相似文献
