Enantioselektive Protonierungen: Kinetische Racematspaltung

Asymmetric protonation is a new and fascinating method for the synthesis of enantiomeric pure compounds. Starting form the early beginnings of the contributions of Duhamel and Hünig, Fehr, Yamamoto and other researchers developed a broad variety of methods for the enantioselective protonation of cyclic and acyclic enolates. Protonations with a catalytic amount of an enantiopure acid led to first industrial applications of this method, e.g. the enantioselective synthesis of (S)‐αdamascone.
