A conductometric method is proposed for the determination of quaternary ammonium salts (chloride or bromide), based on the poor solubility of the relative perchlorates. A comparison between expected and found values shows that the method is suitable, rapid, and easy for quantities in the range from 0.2 to 5 g. The error depends on the solubility of the relative perchlorate. The apparent and tentative solubility product of the studied compounds were calculated. The obtained values allowed to propose benzyltributyl ammonium chloride (BTBA Cl) as precipitant for the conductometric titration of perchlorate. This easy, rapid and accurate determination can be used to analyze the perchlorate ion even in concentrated solutions and to determine stability constants for complex formation in aqueous solutions.  相似文献

PMR spectroscopy of adsorbed molecules upon freeze-out of the liquid phase was used to study the interaction of high-molecular-weight quaternary ammonium salts differing in the structure of the hydrophilic part of the molecule and the distance between the nitrogen atoms with the hydrated aerosil surface. Novel hybrid materials were obtained by modification of three (poly)amine-appended mesoporous silica gels. For all matrices of different side chain lengths, the process proceeded with excellent modification rates. The free analogues of these hybrid materials, podand-type receptors, were also prepared employing a very similar procedure. The organosilicas synthesized were characterized by NMR, infrared spectroscopy, and semi-empirical methods. Their anion exchange properties were conveniently investigated using precise, but also time and cost-efficient titration experiments, and the products were found to be powerful complexing agents for dichromate ions.  相似文献

Several quaternary ammonium salts have been synthesized and comparisons made of their efficiency as exchange substrates in dicyanoargentate-sensitive electrodes. The electrode prepared from hexadecyltrioctylammonium dicyanoargentate shows the best performance characteristics and has been studied in more detail. Its Nernstian response range is 10(-1)-10(-4)M, the optimum pH range is 10.6-12.6, and the detection limit is 3 x 10(-5)M. It is suggested that the detection limit of the electrode is controlled by interference from cyanide ions, and the difference between detection limits obtained with the various electrodes is discussed in the light of this. Selectivity coefficients for various interfering ions have been determined and related to the extractability of the ions. The electrode has been applied to determination of silver in cyanide-containing plating solutions.  相似文献

Bromide and iodide ions were determined simultaneously by capillary isotachophoresis using an aqueous electrolyte system; the separation principle was based on the ion-pairing equilibria between tetradecyldimethylbenzylammonium ion and these anions in the leading electrolyte. The interaction between iodide ion and tetradecyldimethylbenzylammonium ion was stronger than that for bromide ion. Thus complete separation of bromide and iodide ions could be obtained by using a leading electrolyte containing 1.5 mM tetradecyldimethylbenzylammonium ion. The pH of the leading electrolyte was adjusted to 5.0. The relative standard deviations of the zone length for bromide and iodide ions were 1.1 and 1.2%, respectively, when mixture of 3.0 mM of these ions was analysed. A 150-μl volume could be injected for the simultaneous determination of low concentrations of bromide and iodide ions.  相似文献

Summary The anion-exchange extraction of a great number of mineral, organic and metal complex anions by solutions of quaternary ammonium-salts (QAS) in different solvents, including intermediate exchange with acidic dye anions, has been investigated. Extraction-photometric methods and ion-selective electrodes for the determination of organic and metal complex anions have been developed. Simple methods for synthesis and purification of QAS are described and their self-association has been investigated by electroconductivity and interphase distribution.

Silica gel-supported ceric ammonium nitrate (CAN-SiO2) was found effective for rapid and selective cleavage of trityl (Tr), monomethoxytrityl (MMTr), and dimethoxytrityl (DMTr) groups from protected nucleosides and nucleotides under mild conditions. Efficiency of deprotections depended upon the stability of the resultant carbocationic species: DMTr+ > MMTr+ > Tr+. Use of a catalytic amount of this solid-supported reagent can also efficiently and selectively remove the tert-butyldimethylsilyl or the triisopropylsilyl group from a primary hydroxyl functionality in di- or trisilyl ethers of ribonucleosides. A comparative study of deprotection reactions by utilization of CAN alone or CAN-SiO2 indicates a remarkable increase in the rate of the reactions involving a solid support. The mechanism of electron-transfer processes is proposed for the use of CAN-SiO2 in the removal of these protective groups from organic molecules.  相似文献

The adsorption of triethyl alkyl (and allyl) ammonium bromides on a mercury electrode has been investigated. The isotherms and values of the free energy of adsorption yield information on the mode of adsorption of the cations. The formation of partial bimolecular films on the surface of mercury by the cations studied has been described and a simple explanation put forward concerning the mechanism of destruction of these films.  相似文献

Photopolymerization of vinyl monomers with a series of quaternary ammonium salts has been investigated. However, quaternary ammonium salts used are not photosensitizers but rather photoinitiators. The salts photoinitiation activity was observed to vary widely with the counteranion in quaternary salts used and also with the alkyl group in their amine components. In general, the halide salts were more effective than tetrafluoroborate salts. It was also found that the overall activation energy for the photopolymerization of methyl methacrylate with dimethylbenzylanilinium tetrafluoroborate was 5.9 kcal/mole, and its rate was proportional to the 0.32 and 1.0 order of the concentration of the salt and the monomer used, respectively. An endgroup similar to dimethylaniline was found to be present in the methyl methacrylate polymer obtained by above system; this is probably a methylanilinomethyl group, from the characteristics of its ultraviolet spectrum.  相似文献
