Hybrid fiber amplifier chains employing polarization-maintaining (PM)/non-polarization-maintaining (non-PM) Yb-doped fibers (YDF) were proposed and the polarization extinction ratio (PER) degradation in the amplifier chains was studied experimentally. It was found that the PER increased if the PM YDF was pumped, while the PER decreased gradually if the non-PM YDF was pumped. In addition, it was shown that the hybrid high power fiber amplifier was also coherently combinable experimentally, and it was found that the contrast of pattern captured while using the PM/non-PM hybrid amplifier chains just decreased by 17% compared with only using PM amplifier, which confirmed the feasibility and potential application of the hybrid fiber amplifier chains in the coherent beam combination (CBC) of fiber lasers.  相似文献

进行了非保偏放大器与保偏放大器的相干合成的实验研究。通过随机并行梯度下降(SPGD)算法对非保偏放大器进行偏振自适应控制,使非保偏放大器输出激光的消光比达到11.5 dB,与保偏放大器在同一偏振方向上的光功率占总功率的93.4%。利用单抖动法进行非保偏放大器与保偏放大器的主动相位控制,实现相干合成。实验结果表明:SPGD算法能够有效实现偏振自适应控制,偏振自适应控制前后相干合成远场的条纹对比度从80.1%提高到87.2%,相干合成的效果提升明显;通过增加参与合成的放大器路数,并在各路激光中引入多级功率放大器,能够得到更高的合成功率输出。  相似文献

选取不同路数和不同填充因子的合成光束模型,模拟并分析了倾斜相差对相干合成的影响.介绍了倾斜校正的关键器件--自适应光纤光源准直器.在主振荡功率放大器结构的光纤激光相干合成系统中,模拟了随机并行梯度下降(SPGD)算法校正七路激光阵列间时变倾斜相差的动态过程,分析了不同倾斜相差幅值和频率对校正能力的影响.实验表明,要提高相干合成的效果,必须校正倾斜相差;而SPGD算法校正倾斜相差的能力随着倾斜相差幅值和频率的增加而降低.文章为在实际大气环境中实现多路高功率光纤激光的相干合成提供了参考. 关键词: 光纤激光 相干合成 倾斜相位差 动态分析  相似文献

A novel adaptive-fiber-optics-collimator (AFOC) compensating both piston-type and tip/tilt-type phase errors of output beam is introduced, and has been employed in experiments of coherent beam combination (CBC) of a delta distributed fiber array. Feedback control is realized using stochastic parallel gradient descent (SPGD) algorithm. Excellent CBC effect has been achieved when piston and tip/tilt errors among beamlets corrected. The necessity of wavefront tip/tilt control in CBC is verified. Experimental results exhibit great potential applications of this kind of AFOC in fiber amplifier arrays.  相似文献

We have demonstrated active coherent beam combination (CBC) of up to 218 semiconductor amplifiers with 38.5?W cw output using up to eleven one-dimensional 21-element individually addressable diode amplifier arrays operating at 960?nm. The amplifier array elements are slab-coupled-optical-waveguide semiconductor amplifiers (SCOWAs) set up in a master-oscillator-power-amplifier configuration. Diffractive optical elements divide the master-oscillator beam to seed multiple arrays of SCOWAs. A SCOWA was phase actuated by adjusting the drive current to each element and controlled using a stochastic-parallel-gradient-descent (SPGD) algorithm for the active CBC. The SPGD is a hill-climbing algorithm that maximizes on-axis intensity in the far field, providing phase locking without needing a reference beam.  相似文献

We present an experimental study on tilt-tip(TT) and phase-locking(PL) control in a coherent beam combination(CBC) system of adaptive fiber laser array.The TT control is performed using the adaptive fiber-optics collimator(AFOC),and the PL control is realized by the phase modulator(PM).Cascaded and simultaneous controls of TT and PL using stochastic parallel gradient descent(SPGD) algorithm are investigated in this paper.Two-fiber-laser-,four-fiber-laser-,and six-fiber-laser-arrays are employed to study the TT and PL control.In the cascaded control system,only one high-speed CMOS camera is used to collect beam data and a computer is used as the controller.In a simultaneous control system one high-speed CMOS camera and one photonic detector(PD) are employed,and a computer and a control circuit based on field programmable gate array(FPGA) are used as the controllers.Experimental results reveal that both cascaded and simultaneous controls of TT using AFOC and PL using PM in fiber laser array are feasible and effective.Cascaded control is more effective in static control situation and simultaneous control can be applied to the dynamic control system directly.The control signals of simultaneous PL and TT disturb each other obviously and TT and PL control may compete with each other,so the control effect is limited.  相似文献

Coherent beam combination(CBC) of laser arrays is an efficient way to scale brightness.We demonstrate CBC of two slab laser amplifiers based on active phase locking.Instead of the complex phase detection system,intensity detection is used and the feedback control signal is calculated based on the stochastic parallel gradient descent(SPGD) algorithm.The experimental investigation on a 101.5-W CBC of two slab amplifiers shows that the entire system in a closed loop performs well for long-time observation.A combination efficiency of nearly 81% is realized.The slab amplifier laser arrays are the coherent beams efficiently combined by active phase locking based on the SPGD.  相似文献

Abstract

This article presents an experimental and theoretical study of the generation of picosecond bursts by a non-polarization-maintaining ytterbium-doped fiber master oscillator fiber amplifier system. The peak power and pulse energy of the burst are higher than 45 kW and 350 nJ at 700 kHz, respectively. The master oscillator fiber amplifier was used to generate 3 W of green and 200 mW of UV light with conversion efficiencies of 16% and 8%, respectively. The enhancement of conversion efficiency by the pulse burst compared with regular pulses was analyzed and attributed to dynamically saturated gain of the pump-power-limited fiber amplifier.  相似文献

在光纤激光相干合成中,需要探测各路光束之间的平移误差.提出了一种条纹提取算法,利用此算法能得到准确的相位平移扰动.基于此算法,针对两路光纤放大器测量了毫瓦量级的光纤放大器的相位噪声特性,然后采用高速数字处理电路以及能动分块反射镜完成了平移相位扰动的实时校正.实验结果表明,闭环前后条纹对比度从0.09提高到0.25,平移误相位噪声强度的幅值从1053.4 nm降低到116.7 nm,系统校正精度达到1/10λ,控制带宽约为50Hz. 关键词: 能动分块反射镜 条纹提取算法 相位扰动 光纤放大器  相似文献

对自行研制的主振荡功率放大结构短脉冲双包层光纤激光系统(2W,30ps)的偏振特性进行了研究.分别研究了种子源激光和经过包层泵浦放大后输出激光在连续工作和脉冲输出情况下的偏振特性,结果表明在不加偏振控制措施情况下,系统输出为椭圆偏振光,偏振度和偏振角都容易受到光纤扰动的影响;在激光腔内加入起偏器后,输出线偏振光,偏振态相对比较稳定,但是偏振角度仍然容易受到光纤扰动的影响.实验证明:经过高功率放大后,输出激光的偏振态稳定性有一定程度的下降,在进行激光相干合成前需进一步加以控制.  相似文献

We present a strip extracting algorithm (SEA) for detecting and locking the phase noise of fiber amplifiers. Based on the algorithm, the phase noise of a 10 W Yb fiber amplifier is obtained and locked with an active segment mirror (ASM) and a high-speed CCD camera. Experimental results indicate that within the first 3 seconds after turn-on transients occur the amplitude of phase noise exceeds 20 waves, whereas in thermal steady-state operation it amounts to only several waves for the same time span. After phase locking, the Peak-to-Valley (PV) value of phase noise is close to ~1/10λ (λ=1064 nm), and the control bandwidth of the system is ~25 Hz.  相似文献

实验验证了一种利用目标回光在远场实现相干合成的技术——目标在回路技术.建立了目标在回路相干合成的物理模型,利用可同时调整光程和光束倾斜的自适应光纤光源准直器,同时补偿合成光束间的平移和倾斜相差,实现了基于目标在回路的三路光纤传输激光间相干合成,获得了接近理想情况的合成效果.文章为在实际大气环境中实现多路相干组束的长距离传输提供了参考.  相似文献

根据耦合非线性薛定谔方程,在考虑偏振模色散的情况下,采用数值方法仿真了含有相敏光放大器的高速光纤传输系统性能,获得了一组优化参量.仿真结果表明,相敏光放大器对于光纤偏振模色散的影响有一定的补偿作用.  相似文献

Polarization-maintaining fiber amplifier using ytterbium-doped single-mode fiber (SMF) is proposed. A 45° Faraday rotator mirror (FRM) and a polarization independent fiber loop circulator (FLC) with polarization-maintaining fiber (PMF) pigtails are used to realize double-pass amplification and birefringence self-compensation. Arbitrary state of polarization (SOP) such as the linear polarization and elliptical polarization can be maintained. Polarization-maintaining amplification of phase modulated pulse with this amplifier is experimentally demonstrated while introducing little intensity modulation itself.  相似文献

A seed laser oscillating at different frequencies is proved to have the potential to mitigate the stimulated Brillouin scattering(SBS) effect in a fiber amplifier,which may increase the emission power of a coherent beam combination(CBC) system greatly.In this study,a basic mathematical model describing the multi-wavelength CBC is proposed on the fundamentals of CBC.A useful method for estimating the combination effect and analysing the feasibility and the validity of the multi-wavelength coherent combination is provided.In the numerical analysis,accordant results with four-wavelength four-channel CBC experiments are obtained.Through calculations of some examples with certain spectra,the unanticipated excellent combination effect with a few frequencies involved is explained,and the dependence of the combination effect on the variance of the amplifier chain length and the channel number is clarified.  相似文献

We demonstrate coherent beam combination of 137 W fiber amplifier array using single frequency dithering technique. Four polarization-maintained fiber amplifiers are tiled into 2×2 array and the output power of each amplifier is about 35 W. Single frequency dithering algorithm is run on a signal processor based on field programmable gate array (FPGA) for phase control on the fiber amplifiers. When the phase control system goes into closed-loop, the fringe contrast of far-field intensity pattern is improved by more than 87% from 0 in open-loop, and the residual phase error is less than λ/20.  相似文献

在偏振模色散(PMD)自动补偿技术中,如何根据反馈信号得到相应的控制信号,使补偿速度跟随偏振模色散变化始终是该技术的一个核心问题。提出了一种新颖的自适应抖动跟踪算法,完成了以微波信号为反馈的多自由度的一阶偏振模色散自动反馈补偿系统的跟踪补偿实验。算法成功地解决了传统算法在跟踪搜索过程中易陷入局部极值的问题,有效地克服了系统中的重要控制器件偏振控制器的磁滞现象以及动态补偿时跟踪搜索过程中易出现的瞬间恶化现象。实验结果表明该算法在对出现突发偏振模色散扰动后自动进行补偿的响应速度在ms量级,最快能达到1~2 ms。  相似文献

Coherent beam combination of a 1.08?kW fiber amplifier array has been demonstrated for the first time, to our knowledge. In the experiment, nine fiber amplifiers are tiled into a 3×3 array, and the output power of each amplifier is approximately 120?W. A single frequency dithering algorithm is used to compensate the phase noises between the elements, which runs on a signal processor based on field programmable gate array for phase control on the fiber amplifiers. When the phase control system goes into closed loop, the fringe contrast of the far-field intensity pattern is improved to more than 85%, and the residual phase error is less than λ/15.  相似文献
