To solve nonlinear system of equation, F(x) = 0, a continuous Newton flow x t (t) = V (x) = ?(DF(x))?1 F(x), x(0) = x 0 and its mathematical properties, such as the central field, global existence and uniqueness of real roots and the structure of the singular surface, are studied. We concisely introduce random Newton flow algorithm (NFA) for finding all roots, based on discrete Newton flow x j+1 = x j + hV (x j ) with random initial value x 0 and h ∈ (0, 1], and three computable quantities, g j , d j and K j . The numerical experiments with dimension n = 300 are provided.  相似文献

We pose and solve an inverse problem of finding a coefficient in the wave equation in the inhomogeneous semispace on the scattering data of a plane wave incident from the homogeneous semispace. The unknown coefficient is a sum of a deterministic summand of one variable (the “depth” z) and a small random summand α(x, z). We look for the deterministic summand, the expectation E(α(x, z)) =: m(z), and the second moment r(x 1 t - x 2, z 1, z 2):= E(α(x 1, z 1)α(x 2, z 2)). Here the symbol E(·) stands for expectation. The stratification property of a medium means that (i) the deterministic summand depends only on z, (ii) m(z) depends only on z, and (iii) the second moment for fixed z 1 and z 2 depends only on x 1 ? x 2.  相似文献

The resolvent approach in the Fourier method, combined with Krylov’s ideas concerning convergence acceleration for Fourier series, is used to obtain a classical solution of a mixed problem for the wave equation with a summable potential, fixed ends, a zero initial position, and an initial velocity ψ(x), where ψ(x) is absolutely continuous, ψ'(x) ∈ L 2[0,1], and ψ(0) = ψ(1) = 0. In the case ψ(x) ∈ L[0,1], it is shown that the series of the formal solution converges uniformly and is a weak solution of the mixed problem.  相似文献

It is common practice to approximate a weakly nonlinear wave equation through a kinetic transport equation, thus raising the issue of controlling the validity of the kinetic limit for a suitable choice of the random initial data. While for the general case a proof of the kinetic limit remains open, we report on first progress. As wave equation we consider the nonlinear Schrödinger equation discretized on a hypercubic lattice. Since this is a Hamiltonian system, a natural choice of random initial data is distributing them according to the corresponding Gibbs measure with a chemical potential chosen so that the Gibbs field has exponential mixing. The solution ψ t (x) of the nonlinear Schrödinger equation yields then a stochastic process stationary in x∈? d and t∈?. If λ denotes the strength of the nonlinearity, we prove that the space-time covariance of ψ t (x) has a limit as λ→0 for t=λ ?2 τ, with τ fixed and |τ| sufficiently small. The limit agrees with the prediction from kinetic theory.  相似文献

The convergence of the formal Fourier solution to a mixed problem for the wave equation with a summable potential is analyzed under weaker assumptions imposed on the initial position u(x, 0) = φ(x) than those required for a classical solution up to the case φ(x)∈ Lp[0,1] for p > 1. It is shown that the formal solution series always converges and represents a weak solution of the mixed problem.  相似文献

In the present paper, we exhaustively solve the problem of boundary control by the displacement u(0, t) = µ(t) at the end x = 0 of the string in the presence of a model nonlocal boundary condition of one of four types relating the values of the displacement u(x, t) or its derivative u x (x, t) at the boundary point x = l of the string to their values at some interior point \(\mathop x\limits^ \circ\).  相似文献

The third-order nonlinear differential equation (u xx ? u) t + u xxx + uu x = 0 is analyzed and compared with the Korteweg-de Vries equation u t + u xxx ? 6uu x = 0. Some integrals of motion for this equation are presented. The conditions are established under which a traveling wave is a solution to this equation.  相似文献

In the domain Q = [0,∞)×[0,∞) of the variables (x, t), for the telegraph equation with a Dirac potential concentrated at a point (x0, t0) ∈ Q, we consider a mixed problem with initial (at t = 0) conditions on the solution and its derivative with respect to t and a condition on the boundary x = 0 which is a linear combination with coefficients depending on t of the solution and its first derivatives with respect to x and t (a directional derivative). We obtain formulas for the classical solution of this problem under certain conditions on the point (x0, t0), the coefficient of the Dirac potential, and the conditions of consistency of the initial and boundary data and the right-hand side of the equation at the point (0, 0). We study the behavior of the solution as the direction of the directional derivative in the boundary condition tends to a characteristic of the equation and obtain estimates of the difference between the corresponding solutions.  相似文献

In the present paper, in terms of a generalized solution of the wave equation, we perform an exhaustive study of the problem on the boundary control by an elastic force u x (0, t) = µ(t) at one endpoint x = 0 of a string in the presence of a model nonlocal boundary condition of one of four types relating (with the sign “+” or “?”) the values of the displacement u(x, t) or its derivative u x (x, t) at the boundary point x = l of the string to their values at some interior point \(\mathop x\limits^ \circ \) of the string (0 < \(\mathop x\limits^ \circ \) < l). We prove necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of such boundary controls. Under these conditions, we optimize the controls by minimizing the boundary energy integral and then write out the optimal boundary controls in closed analytic form.  相似文献

We consider the Neumann problem outside a small neighborhood of a planar disk in the three-dimensional space. The surface of this neighborhood is assumed to be smooth, and its thickness is characterized by a small parameter ε. A uniform asymptotic expansion of the solution of this problem with respect to ε is constructed by the matching method. Since the problem turned out to be bisingular, an additional inner asymptotic expansion in the so-called stretched variables is constructed near the edge of the disk. A physical interpretation of the solution of this boundary value problem is the velocity potential of a laminar flow of an ideal fluid around a thin body, which is the neighborhood of the disk. It is assumed that this flow has unit velocity at a large distance from the disk, which is equivalent to the following condition for the potential: u(x1, x2, x3, ε) = x3+O(r?2) as r → ∞, where r is the distance to the origin. The boundary condition of this problem is the impermeability of the surface of the body: ?u/?n = 0 at the boundary. After subtracting x3 from the solution u(x1, x2, x3, ε), we get a boundary value problem for the potential ?(x1, x2, x3, ε) of the perturbed motion. Since the integral of the function ??/?n over the surface of the body is zero, we have ?(x1, x2, x3, ε) = O(r?2) as r → ∞. Hence, all the coefficients of the outer asymptotic expansion with respect to ε have the same behavior at infinity. However, these coefficients have growing singularities at the approach to the edge of the disk, which implies the bisingularity of the problem.  相似文献

The paper considers particularities in applying Lagrangian variables in problems of hypersonic flow past bodies. It is pointed out that, in problems with intense shock waves, it is advisable to introduce Lagrangian variables as the values of parameters that characterize a particle not on surface t = t 0 (t 0 = const) but on surface t = σ, where σ is the time instant at which the particle meets the surface of discontinuity. Considering examples of two-dimensional flow past two-dimensional and axisymmetric bodies moving with high time-dependent velocity, we show that the passage to Lagrangian variables enables us to obtain a system of equations describing the gas flow behind the front of an intense shock wave, which is suitable for the application of the thin-shock-layer flow method. A solution is constructed in the form of series in powers of a small parameter which characterizes the ratio of the gas densities at the front of the leading shock wave. We remark that all nonlinear effects of the problem are concentrated in the equation to determine the law of motion of a particle in zero-order approximation. The cases in which this equation can be integrated are pointed out. For the remaining unknowns, the solution is taken in quadratures. We study the rearrangement of the gas flow in the shock layer when the motion of the body is changed. The flow rearrangement zone is distinguished. Also, a condition to determine the life time of that region (the time of establishment of the new flow regime) is obtained. In a specific case of passing from a steady motion of a wedge to a uniformly accelerated motion, the time of establishment of the uniformly accelerated motion is determined from a quadratic equation.  相似文献

In this paper, the Fokas unified method is used to analyze the initial-boundary value for the Chen- Lee-Liu equation
$i{\partial _t}u + {\partial_{xx}u - i |u{|^2}{\partial _x}u = 0}$
on the half line (?∞, 0] with decaying initial value. Assuming that the solution u(x, t) exists, we show that it can be represented in terms of the solution of a matrix Riemann-Hilbert problem formulated in the plane of the complex spectral parameter λ. The jump matrix has explicit (x, t) dependence and is given in terms of the spectral functions {a(λ), b(λ)} and {A(λ), B(λ)}, which are obtained from the initial data u0(x) = u(x, 0) and the boundary data g0(t) = u(0, t), g1(t) = ux(0, t), respectively. The spectral functions are not independent, but satisfy a so-called global relation.

Considering the linear system of elasticity equations describing the wave propagation in the half-space ? + 3 = {x ∈ ?3 | x 3 > 0} we address the problem of determining the density and elastic parameters which are piecewise constant functions of x 3. The shape is unknown of a point-like impulse source that excites elastic oscillations in the half-space. We show that under certain assumptions on the source shape and the parameters of the elastic medium the displacements of the boundary points of the half-space for some finite time interval (0, T) uniquely determine the normalized density (with respect to the first layer) and the elastic Lamé parameters for x 3 ∈ [0, H], where H = H(T). We give an algorithmic procedure for constructing the required parameters.  相似文献

Systems of equations f 1 = ··· = f n?1 = 0 in ? n = {x} having the solution x = 0 are considered under the assumption that the quasi-homogeneous truncations of the smooth functions f 1,..., f n?1 are independent at x ≠ 0. It is shown that, for n ≠ 2 and n ≠ 4, such a system has a smooth solution which passes through x = 0 and has nonzero Maclaurin series.  相似文献

In the strip П = (?1, 0) × ?, we establish the existence of solutions of the Cauchy problem for the Korteweg-de Vries equation u t + u xxx + uu x = 0 with initial condition either 1) u(?1, x) = ?(x), or 2) u(?1, x) = ?(?x), where θ is the Heaviside function. The solutions constructed in this paper are infinitely smooth for t ∈ (?1, 0) and rapidly decreasing as x → +∞. For the case of the first initial condition, we also establish uniqueness in a certain class. Similar special solutions of the KdV equation arise in the study of the asymptotic behavior with respect to small dispersion of the solutions of certain model problems in a neighborhood of lines of weak discontinuity.  相似文献

Nowadays there are different powerful 3D dynamic geometry systems (DGS) such as GeoGebra 5, Calques 3D and Cabri geometry 3D. An obvious application of this software that has been addressed by several authors is obtaining the conic sections of a right circular cone: the dynamic capabilities of 3D DGS allows to slowly vary the angle of the plane w.r.t. the axis of the cone, thus obtaining the different types of conics. In all the approaches we have found, a cone is firstly constructed and it is cut through variable planes. We propose to perform the construction the other way round: the plane is fixed (in fact it is a very convenient plane: \(z=0\)) and the cone is the moving object. This way the conic is expressed as a function of x and y (instead of as a function of x, y and z). Moreover, if the 3D DGS has algebraic capabilities, it is possible to obtain the implicit equation of the conic.  相似文献

For the system of root functions of an operator defined by the differential operation ?u″ + p(x)u′ + q(x)u, xG = (0, 1), with complex-valued singular coefficients, sufficient conditions for the Bessel property in the space L2(G) are obtained and a theorem on the unconditional basis property is proved. It is assumed that the functions p(x) and q(x) locally belong to the spaces L2 and W2?1, respectively, and may have singularities at the endpoints of G such that q(x) = qR(x) +qS(x) and the functions qS(x), p(x), q 2 S (x)w(x), p2(x)w(x), and qR(x)w(x) are integrable on the whole interval G, where w(x) = x(1 ? x).  相似文献

We further develop the method, devised earlier by the authors, which permits finding closed-form expressions for the optimal controls by elastic boundary forces applied at two ends, x = 0 and x = l, of a string. In a sufficiently large time T, the controls should take the string vibration process, described by a generalized solution u(x, t) of the wave equation
$$u_{tt} (x,t) - u_{tt} (x,t) = 0,$$
from an arbitrary initial state
$$\{ u(x,0) = \varphi (x), u_t (x,0) = \psi (x)$$
to an arbitrary terminal state
$$\{ u(x,T) = \hat \varphi (x), u_t (x,T) = \hat \psi (x).$$

We consider the problem of representing a solution to the Cauchy problem for an ordinary differential equation as a Fourier series in polynomials l r,k α (x) (k = 0, 1,...) that are Sobolev-orthonormal with respect to the inner product
$$\left\langle {f,g} \right\rangle = \sum\limits_{v = 0}^{r - 1} {{f^{(v)}}(0){g^{(v)}}} (0) + \int\limits_0^\infty {{f^{(r)}}(t)} {g^{(r)}}(t){t^\alpha }{e^{ - t}}dt$$
, and generated by the classical orthogonal Laguerre polynomials L k α (x) (k = 0, 1,...). The polynomials l r,k α (x) are represented as expressions containing the Laguerre polynomials L n α?r (x). An explicit form of the polynomials l r,k+r α (x) is established as an expansion in the powers x r+l , l = 0,..., k. These results can be used to study the asymptotic properties of the polynomials l r,k α (x) as k→∞and the approximation properties of the partial sums of Fourier series in these polynomials.
