An efficient method of construction of solutions to a set of boundary value problems with additional interface conditions, more complicated boundary conditions, and so on on the basis of known solutions to classical boundary value problems is proposed. The method is based on the representation of solutions to classical and more complicated problems in the form of expansions into Fourier series with subsequent reduction of one series to the other. As a result, formulas directly expressing solutions to more complicated problems in terms of solutions to classical problems are obtained. On the basis of the well-known solution to the Dirichlet problem on a half plane, solutions to boundary value problems with interface conditions (including generalized conditions of the type of a crack and a screen) on intersecting straight lines for boundary conditions of the first and the third kind are obtained.  相似文献

A numerical algorithm is described for solving the generalized eigenvalue problem arising in the study of the spectrum of a preconditioned operator in the pressure equation derived from a Stokes interface problem. The algorithm is implemented for two finite element schemes. It is tested for a problem with an analytical solution and is applied to spectrum computations in the case of a piecewise constant viscosity. A large number of numerical experiments are analyzed, and recommendations are given for solving the Stokes interface problem in practice.  相似文献

This paper presents the concept of the Stochastic Multi-dimensional Harmonic Balance Method (Stochastic-MHBM) in order to solve dynamical problems with non-regular non linearities in presence of uncertainties. To treat the nonlinearity in the stochastic and frequency domains, the Alternate Frequency-Time method with Probabilistic Collocation (AFTPC) is proposed. The approach is demonstrated using nonlinear two-degree-of-freedom model with different types of nonlinearities (cubic nonlinearity, contact/no contact, friction). The quasi-periodic stochastic dynamic response is evaluated considering uncertainties in linear and nonlinear parts of the mechanical system. The results are compared with those obtained from the classical Monte Carlo Simulation (MCS). For various numerical tests, it is found that the results agreed very well whilst requiring significantly less computation.  相似文献

For elliptic interface problems with flux jumps, this article studies robust residual‐ and recovery‐based a posteriori error estimators for the conforming finite element approximation. The residual estimator is a natural extension of that developed in [Bernardi and Verfürth, Numer Math 85 (2000), 579–608; Petzoldt, Adv Comp Math 16 (2002), 47–75], and the recovery estimator is a nontrivial extension of our method developed in Cai and Zhang, SIAM J Numer Anal 47 (2009) 2132–2156. It is shown theoretically that reliability and efficiency bounds of these error estimators are independent of the jumps provided that the distribution of the coefficients is locally monotone. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Initial-boundary value problems for the system of quasilinear operator-differential equations governing the longitudinal vibrations of a viscoelastoplastic Ishlinskii material with nonsmooth rapidly oscillating coefficients and initial data are investigated. The system involves the hysteresis Prandtl-Ishlinskii operator. Passage to the limit to initial-boundary value problems for the corresponding system of two-scale homogenized operator integro-differential equations is strictly substantiated globally in time without assuming that the data are small.  相似文献

The possibility of using the finite-element method for investigating two-dimensional problems on natural vibrations in the mechanics of composite materials with curved structures is considered. With the example of a hinge-supported strip made of a composite material with a locally curved structure, the influence of geometrical and mechanical parameters of the strip on its eigenfrequencies is examined. It is assumed that the higher density fluid occupies the lower unbounded half-space, while the lower density fluid occupies the upper unbounded half-space. The source of the excitation is a plane wave traveling along the interface of the fluids. An explicit analytical solution to the problem is constructed, and its existence and uniqueness are proved. In this paper, we study the problem of the boundary accumulation of a discrete spectrum, which is essential for a boundary-value problem of fourth order arising in the theory of small transverse vibrations in an inhomogeneous viscoelastic rod (a Kelvin—Voigt body). We establish conditions for such an accumulation and its asymptotics, which are expressed in terms of the coefficients defining the problem posed by the differential expression. The index of the homogeneous self-adjoint boundary value problem for the Hamiltonian systems of ordinary differential equations is introduced. It is assumed that the system has a nontrivial solution. The relationship between the index of an eigenvalue of the nonlinear eigenvalue problem and the index of the corresponding homogeneous problem is established. In this paper we consider an inverse problem for a damped vibration system from the noisy measured eigendata, where the mass, damping, and stiffness matrices are all symmetric positive‐definite matrices with the mass matrix being diagonal and the damping and stiffness matrices being tridiagonal. To take into consideration the noise in the data, the problem is formulated as a convex optimization problem involving quadratic constraints on the unknown mass, damping, and stiffness parameters. Then we propose a smoothing Newton‐type algorithm for the optimization problem, which improves a pre‐existing estimate of a solution to the inverse problem. We show that the proposed method converges both globally and quadratically. Numerical examples are also given to demonstrate the efficiency of our method. In this paper, an extremal eigenvalue problem to the Sturm-Liouville equations with discontinuous coefficients and volume constraint is investigated. Liouville transformation is applied to change the problem into an equivalent minimization problem. Finite element method is proposed and the convergence for the finite element solution is established. A monotonic decreasing algorithm is presented to solve the extremal eigenvalue problem. A global convergence for the algorithm in the continuous case is proved. A few numerical results are given to depict the efficiency of the method.  相似文献

The three-dimensional evolution of the interface between fluids of different viscosities and densities in the case of a piston displacement is considered. The problem is reduced to a system of integral and differential equations, which are solved numerically by the method of discrete singularities. We study the asymptotic behaviour of the principal eigenvalue of a Robin (or generalised Neumann) problem with a large parameter in the boundary condition for the Laplacian in a piecewise smooth domain. We show that the leading asymptotic term depends only on the singularities of the boundary of the domain, and give either explicit expressions or two‐sided estimates for this term in a variety of situations. By means of eigenvalue error expansion and integral expansion techniques, we propose and analyze the stream function-vorticity-pressure method for the eigenvalue problem associated with the Stokes equations on the unit square. We obtain an optimal order of convergence for eigenvalues and eigenfuctions. Furthermore, for the bilinear finite element space, we derive asymptotic expansions of the eigenvalue error, an efficient extrapolation and an a posteriori error estimate for the eigenvalue. A general form of an analytical solution algorithm for the nonlinear vibrations and stability of parametrically excited continuous systems with intermediate concentrated elements is developed in this paper. The method of multiple timescales is applied directly to the equations of the motion which are in the form of a set of nonlinear partial differential equations with nonlinear coupled terms. This yields approximate analytical expressions for the response amplitude and stability of the system. Moreover, the solution to a sample problem is obtained using the general algorithm, thus proving its effectiveness and validity.  相似文献
