We consider the evaluation of the \(\eta \pi \) isospin-violating vector and scalar form factors relying on a systematic application of analyticity and unitarity, combined with chiral expansion results. It is argued that the usual analyticity properties do hold (i.e. no anomalous thresholds are present) in spite of the instability of the \(\eta \) meson in QCD. Unitarity relates the vector form factor to the \(\eta \pi \rightarrow \pi \pi \) amplitude: we exploit progress in formulating and solving the Khuri–Treiman equations for \(\eta \rightarrow 3\pi \) and in experimental measurements of the Dalitz plot parameters to evaluate the shape of the \(\rho \) -meson peak. Observing this peak in the energy distribution of the \(\tau \rightarrow \eta \pi \nu \) decay would be a background-free signature of a second-class amplitude. The scalar form factor is also estimated from a phase dispersive representation using a plausible model for the \(\eta \pi \) elastic scattering \(S\) -wave phase shift and a sum rule constraint in the inelastic region. We indicate how a possibly exotic nature of the \(a_0(980)\) scalar meson manifests itself in a dispersive approach. A remark is finally made on a second-class amplitude in the \(\tau \rightarrow \pi \pi \nu \) decay. 相似文献

We discuss the possibility that the decay of the neutral B mesons via a non-spectator mechanism might have a significant branching fraction into states. The lightest such hybrid mesons would be recognizable as narroe state of mass 1.6 ± 0.4 decaying predominantly into hadrons containing strange quarks. 相似文献

Eta photo- and electroproduction off the nucleon is investigated in an effective lagrangian approach that contains Born terms and both vector meson and nucleon resonance contributions. In particular, we review and develop the formalism for coincidence experiments with polarization degrees of freedom. The different response functions appearing in single and double polarization experiments have been studied. We will present calculations for structure functions and kinematical conditions that are most sensitive to details of the lagrangian, in particular with regard to contributions of nucleon resonances beyond the dominantS
11(1535) resonance. This work has been supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (SFB 201) 相似文献

We present measurements of branching fractions and charge asymmetries for six B-meson decay modes with an eta or eta(') meson in the final state. The data sample corresponds to 232 x 10(6) BB pairs collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) B Factory at SLAC. We measure the branching fractions (in units of 10(-6)): B(B+ -->eta pi(+))=5.1+/-0.6+/-0.3, B(B+ etaK+)=3.3+/-0.6+/-0.3, B(B0-->etaK0)=1.5+/-0.7+/-0.1 (<2.5 at 90% C.L.), B(B+-->eta rho(+))=8.4+/-1.9+/-1.1, B(B0-->eta omiga)=1.0+/-0.5+/-0.2 (<1.9 at 90% C.L.), and B(B+-->eta(')pi(+))=4.0+/-0.8+/-0.4, where the first uncertainty is statistical and second systematic. For the charged modes we also determine the charge asymmetries, all found to be compatible with zero. 相似文献

Sugimoto, Tanihata and Göring's experimental data on the energy dependence of the asymmetries of beta-rays emitted from polarized 12B and 12N nuclei are analyzed in an almost nuclear model independent way. The analysis suggests the existence of second-class currents. New limits on KDR's second-class current parameters ζ and λ are estimated. 相似文献

Second-class weak axial currents are studied in the framework of normal weak and electromagnetic currents. Equal time commutators between normal and abnormal axial currents and the isoscalar electromagnetic current are postulated and their consequences are worked out. A number of predictions for masses, coupling constants and decay properties are derived and are compared to available data. 相似文献

We report new limits on right-handed currents, based on precise measurements of the endpoint of the e+ spectrum from
+ decay. Highly polarized
+ from the TRIUMF surface beam were stopped in pure metal foils within either an 1.1-T spin-holding logitudinal field, or a 70-gauss spin-precessing transverse field. Decay e+ emitted within 200 mrad of the beam direction were momentum-analyzed to ±0.2%. For the spin-held data, decay via (V-A) currents requires the e+ rate to approach zero in the beam direction at the endpoint. Measurement of this rate sets the 90%-confidence limits P
/>0.9959 and M(WR)>380 GeV, where WR is the possible right-handed gauge boson. For the spin-precessed data we independently determine a 90% confidence limit P
/>0.9918.We are indebted to the entire TRIUMF management and staff for their splendid support of this experiment. In its early stages we benefited from discussion with J. Brewer, R. Cahn, K. Crowe, and W. Wenzel. Rapid commissioning of the polarimeter was made possible by the superb efforts of the LBL support staff. We show that instanton effects may play an important role in the decay of scalar mesons into two pseudoscalars. Particularly the branching ratios of two meson decays of the f0(1500), which is considered as a glue-ball candidate, are compatible with an ordinary q
-structure of this resonance and a small positive SU(3) mixing angle, in agreement with a result from a recent calculation of the spectrum with the same instanton-induced force. Predictions for the a0(1450)-branching ratios are made. 相似文献
