Epitaxial La1−xSrxMnO3 (LSMO) films were prepared by excimer laser-assisted metal organic deposition (ELAMOD) at a low temperature using ArF, KrF, and XeCl excimer lasers. Cross-section transmission electron microscopy (XTEM) observations confirmed the epitaxial growth and homogeneity of the LSMO film on a SrTiO3 (STO) substrate, which was prepared using ArF, KrF, and XeCl excimer lasers. It was found that uniform epitaxial films could be grown at 500 °C by laser irradiation. When an XeCl laser was used, an epitaxial film was formed on the STO substrate at a fluence range from 80 to 140 mJ/cm2 of the laser fluence for the epitaxial growth of LSMO film on STO substrate was changed. When the LaAlO3 (LAO) substrate was used, an epitaxial film was only obtained by ArF laser irradiation, and no epitaxial film was obtained using the KrF and XeCl lasers. When the back of the amorphous LSMO film on an LAO substrate was irradiated using a KrF laser, no epitaxial film formed. Based on the effect of the wavelength and substrate material on the epitaxial growth, formation of the epitaxial film would be found to be photo thermal reaction and photochemical reaction. The maximum temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) of the epitaxial La0.8Sr0.2MnO3 film on an STO substrate grown using an XeCl laser is 4.0%/K at 275 K. XeCl lasers that deliver stabilized pulse energies can be used to prepare LSMO films with good a TCR.  相似文献

La0.8Sr0.2MnO3 films were prepared on SrTiO3 (STO) and LaAlO3 (LAO) substrates using excimer laser-assisted metal organic deposition (ELAMOD). For the LAO substrate, no epitaxial La0.8Sr0.2MnO3 film was obtained by laser irradiation in the fluence range from 60 to 110 mJ/cm2 with heating at 500 °C. On the other hand, an epitaxial La0.8Sr0.2MnO3 film on the STO substrate was formed by laser irradiation in the fluence range from 60 to 100 mJ/cm2 with heating at 500 °C. To optimize the electrical properties for an IR sensor, the effects of the laser fluence, the irradiation time and the film thickness on the temperature dependence of the resistance and temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR: defined as 1/R·(dR/dT)) of the LSMO films were investigated. An LSMO film on the STO substrate that showed the maximum TCR of 3.9% at 265 K was obtained by the ELAMOD process using the KrF laser.  相似文献

In this study, La0.5Ca0.5MnO3 (LCMO) films, at the boundary between ferromagnetic metallic and charge-ordered antiferromagnetic insulator according to the bulk phase diagram, were epitaxially grown on (0 0 1) SrTiO3 (STO) and SrLaAlO4 (SLAO) substrates by pulsed laser deposition technique. The films were analyzed by X-ray diffraction, magnetization and magnetoresistance measurements. A considerably higher magnetization was measured for 290-nm-thick film on SLAO substrate compared to the film on STO substrate, although both films have the same chemical composition, thickness and epitaxial orientation. The film on SLAO shows a metal-insulator (MI) transition, which occurs at higher temperatures with increasing applied magnetic field, whereas only insulating behavior was observed for the 290-nm-thick film on STO except for the highest applied magnetic field (7 T). In addition, transport measurements were performed and analyzed by Mott's variable range hopping (VRH) model to correlate the resistivity of the films with the Jahn-Teller strain (εJ−T) in the structure.  相似文献

The synthesis by pulsed laser deposition technique of zinc oxide thin films suitable for gas sensing applications is herein reported. The ZnO targets were irradiated by an UV KrF* (λ = 248 nm, τFWHM ∼7 ns) excimer laser source, operated at 2.8 J/cm2 incident fluence value, whilst the substrates consisted of SiO2(0 0 1) wafers heated at 150 °C during the thin films growth process. The experiments were performed in an oxygen dynamic pressure of 10 Pa. Structural and optical properties of the thin films were investigated. The obtained results have demonstrated that the films are c-axis oriented. Their average transmission in the visible-infrared spectral region was found to be about 85%. The equivalent refractive indexes and extinction coefficients were very close to those of the tabulated reference values. Doping with 0.5% Au and coating with 100 pulses of Au clusters caused but a very slight decrease (with a few percent) of both transmission and refractive index values. The coatings with the most appropriate optical properties as waveguides have been selected and their behavior was tested for butane sensing.  相似文献

Ferromagnetic La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 (LSMO) and antiferromagnetic La0.33Ca0.67MnO3 (LCMO) layers were grown on SrTiO3 (STO) substrates by the pulsed laser deposition technique. LSMO films had rougher surfaces and larger grain sizes than LCMO films. Fully strained bilayers, in which each layer was as thin as 10 nm, were prepared by changing their stacking sequences, i.e. LSMO/LCMO/STO and LCMO/LSMO/STO. The former had higher TC (350 K) than the latter (300 K), and exchange bias effects were only observed in the former bilayers. This revealed that microstructures could play an important role in the transport and magnetic properties of manganese oxide thin films.  相似文献

TiO2 has attracted a lot of attention due to its photocatalytic properties and its potential applications in environmental purification and self cleaning coatings, as well as for its high optical transmittance in the visible-IR spectral range, high chemical stability and mechanical resistance. In this paper, we report on the growth of TiO2 nanocrystalline films on Si (1 0 0) substrates by pulsed laser deposition (PLD). Rutile sintered targets were irradiated by KrF excimer laser (λ = 248 nm, pulse duration ∼30 ns) in a controlled oxygen environment and at constant substrate temperature of 650 °C. The structural and morphological properties of the films have been studied for different deposition parameters, such as oxygen partial pressure (0.05-5 Pa) and laser fluence (2- 4 J/cm2). X-ray diffraction (XRD) shows the formation of both rutile and anatase phases; however, it is observed that the anatase phase is suppressed at the highest laser fluences. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) measurements were performed to determine the stoichiometry of the grown films. The surface morphology of the deposits, studied by scanning electron (SEM) and atomic force (AFM) microscopies, has revealed nanostructured films. The dimensions and density of the nanoparticles observed at the surface depend on the partial pressure of oxygen during growth. The smallest particles of about 40 nm diameter were obtained for the highest pressures of inlet gas.  相似文献

We demonstrated the pulsed laser deposition (PLD) of high quality films of a biodegradable polymer, the polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB). Thin films of PHB were deposited on KBr substrates and fused silica plates using an ArF (λ = 193 nm, FWHM = 30 ns) excimer laser with fluences between 0.05 and 1.5 J cm−2. FTIR spectroscopic measurements proved that at the appropriate fluence (0.05, 0.09 and 0.12 J cm−2), the films exhibited similar functional groups with no significant laser-produced modifications present. Optical microscopic images showed that the layers were contiguous with embedded micrometer-sized grains. Ellipsometric results determined the wavelength dependence (λ ∼ 245-1000 nm) of the refractive index and absorption coefficient which were new information about the material and were not published in the scientific literature. We believe that our deposited PHB thin films would have more possible applications. For example to our supposal the thin layers would be applicable in laser induced forward transfer (LIFT) of biological materials using them as absorbing thin films.  相似文献

Biaxially textured YBa2Cu3O7−x (YBCO) films were grown on non-textured metal substrates with inclined-substrate-deposited (ISD) MgO as template. The biaxial texture feature of the films was examined by X-ray pole-figure analysis, φ-scan, and 2θ-scan. A tilt angle of 32° of the MgO[001] with respect to the substrate normal was observed. Epitaxial growth of YBCO films with c-axis tilt angle of 32° with respect to the substrate normal was obtained on these substrates with SrTiO3(STO) as buffer layer. Whereas, by choosing yttria-stabilized ZrO2 and CeO2 instead of STO as buffer layer, a c-axis untilted YBCO film was obtained. Higher values of Tc=91 K and Jc=5.5×105 A/cm2 were obtained on the c-axis untilted YBCO films with 0.46 μm thickness at 77 K in zero field. Comparative studies revealed a unique role of CeO2 in controlling the orientation of the YBCO films grown on ISD-MgO buffered metal substrates.  相似文献

TiO2 film of around 850 nm in thickness was deposited on a soda-lime glass by PVD sputtering and irradiated using one pulse of krypton-fluorine (KrF) excimer laser (wavelength of 248 nm and pulse duration of 25 ns) with varying fluence. The color of the irradiated area became darker with increasing laser fluence. Irradiated surfaces were characterized using optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, Raman spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy. Surface undergoes thermal annealing at low laser fluence of 400 and 590 mJ/cm2. Microcracks at medium laser fluence of 1000 mJ/cm2 are attributed to surface melting and solidification. Hydrodynamic ablation is proposed to explain the formation of micropores and networks at higher laser fluence of 1100 and 1200 mJ/cm2. The darkening effect is explained in terms of trapping of light in the surface defects formed rather than anatase to rutile phase transformation as reported by others. Controlled darkening of TiO2 film might be used for adjustable filters.  相似文献

The SrTiO3/La0.9Sr0.1MnO3 (STO/LSMO) multilayers were fabricated on n-Si (1 0 0) substrates using a computer-controlled laser molecular-beam epitaxy (MBE) technique at 1 × 10−2 Pa and 2 × 10−4 Pa oxygen partial pressures, respectively. The dielectric properties of the multilayers (MLs) were investigated. The differences of the dielectric properties of the two samples were explained by an impedance analysis technique, which indicates that the interfacial polarization has a close relationship with the oxygen pressure.  相似文献

Conical nanobump arrays were generated on gold thin film processed by interfering femtosecond laser. The transition of the height and diameter as functions of fluence and pulse width was investigated. When the fluence was 87 mJ/cm2, the height and diameter were not so different at 350 fs or shorter pulse width. They decreased at longer pulse width, and no bump could be generated over 1.6 ps. The results suggest the decrease of size is due to the diffusion of electron to not-excited region, and due to heat conduction to not heated region or substrate, or change of absorbance of laser. At long pulse width of 2.4 ps and relatively higher fluence of 190 mJ/cm2, nanobump had liquid-like structure as a stop motion of a water drop.  相似文献

Novel highly c-oriented tungsten-doped zinc oxide (WZO) thin films with 1 wt% were grown by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technique on corning 1737F glass substrate. The effects of laser energy on the structural, morphological as well as optical transmission properties of the films were studied. The films were highly transparent with average transmittance exceeding 87% in the wavelength region lying between 400 and 2500 nm. X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD) results indicated that the WZO films had c-axis preferred orientation with wurtzite structure. Film thickness and the full width at half maximum (FWHM) of the (0 0 2) peaks of the films were found to be dependent on laser fluence. The composition determined through Rutherford backscattering spectroscopy (RBS) appeared to be independent of the laser fluence. By assuming a direct band gap transition, the band gap values of 3.36, 3.34 and 3.31 eV were obtained for corresponding laser fluence of 1, 1.7 and 2.7 J cm−2, respectively. Compared with the reported undoped ZnO band gap value of 3.37 eV, it is conjectured that the observed low band gap values obtained in this study may be attributable to tungsten incorporation in the films as well as the increase in laser fluence. The high transparency makes the films useful as optical windows while the high band gap values support the idea that the films could be good candidates for optoelectronic applications.  相似文献

Indium-tin oxide (ITO) films deposited on heated and non-heated glass substrates by a pulsed Nd:YAG laser at 355 nm and ∼2.5 J/cm2 were used in the fabrication of simple organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), ITO/(PVK + Alq3 + TPD)/Al. The ITO was deposited on heated glass substrates which possessed resistivity as low as ∼3 × 10−4 Ω cm, optical transmission as high as ∼92% and carrier concentration of about ∼5 × 1020 cm−3, were comparable to the commercial ITO. Substrate heating transformed the ITO microstructure from amorphous to polycrystalline, as revealed by the XRD spectrum. While the polycrystalline ITO produced higher OLED brightness, it was still lower than that on the commercial ITO due to surface roughness. A DLC layer of ∼1.5 nm deposited on this ITO at laser fluence of >12.5 J/cm2 improved its device brightness by suppressing the surface roughness effect.  相似文献

ZnO films with different morphologies were deposited on the ITO-coated glass substrate from zinc nitrate aqueous solution at 65 °C by a seed-layer assisted electrochemical deposition route. The seed layers were pre-deposited galvanostatically at different current densities (isl) ranging from −1.30 to −3.0 mA/cm2, and the subsequent ZnO films had been done using the potentiostatic technique at the cathode potential of −1.0 V. Densities of nucleation centers in the seed layers varied with increasing the current density, and the ZnO films on them showed variable morphologies and optical properties. The uniform and compact nanocrystalline ZnO film with (0 0 2) preferential orientation was obtained on seed layer that was deposited under the current density (isl) of −1.68 mA/cm2, which exhibited good optical performances.  相似文献

Anatase phase TiO2 films have been grown on fused silica substrate by pulsed laser deposition technique at substrate temperature of 750 °C under the oxygen pressure of 5 Pa. From the transmission spectra, the optical band gap and linear refractive index of the TiO2 films were determined. The third-order optical nonlinearities of the films were measured by Z-scan method using a femtosecond laser (50 fs) at the wavelength of 800 nm. The real and imaginary parts of third-order nonlinear susceptibility χ(3) were determined to be −7.1 × 10−11esu and −4.42 × 10−12esu, respectively. The figure of merit, T, defined by T=βλ/n2, was calculated to be 0.8, which meets the requirement of all-optical switching devices. The results show that the anatase TiO2 films have great potential applications for nonlinear optical devices.  相似文献

IrO2 thin films were prepared on Si(1 0 0) substrates by laser ablation. The effect of substrate temperature (Tsub) on the structure (crystal orientation and surface morphology) and property (electrical resistivity) of the laser-ablated IrO2 thin films was investigated. Well crystallized and single-phase IrO2 thin films were obtained at Tsub = 573-773 K in an oxygen partial pressure of 20 Pa. The preferred orientation of the laser-ablated IrO2 thin films changed from (2 0 0) to (1 1 0) and (1 0 1) depending on Tsub. With the increasing of Tsub, both the surface roughness and crystallite size increased. The room-temperature electrical resistivity of IrO2 thin films decreased with increasing Tsub, showing a low value of (42 ± 6) × 10−8 Ω m at Tsub = 773 K.  相似文献

Three different gases (nitrogen (N2), oxygen (O2) and argon (Ar)) were used as background gases during the growth of pulsed laser deposition (PLD) Y2SiO5:Ce thin films. A Krypton fluoride laser (KrF), 248 nm was used for the PLD of the films on silicon (Si) (1 0 0) substrates. The effect of the background gases on the surface morphology, crystal growth and luminescent properties were investigated. All the experimental parameters, the gas pressure (455 mT), the substrate temperature (600 °C), the pulse frequency (8 Hz), the number of pulses (4000) and the laser fluence (1.6±0.2) J/cm2 were kept constant. The only parameter that was changed during the deposition was the ambient gas species. The surface morphology and average particle sizes were monitored with scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Auger electron spectroscopy (AES) were used to determine the crystal structure and composition, respectively. Cathodo- (CL) and photoluminescence (PL) were used to measure the luminescent intensities for the different phosphor thin films. The nature of the particles, ablated on the substrate, is related to the collisions between the ejected particles and the ambient gas particles. The CL and PL intensities also depend on the particle sizes. A 144 h (coulomb dose of 1.4×104 C cm−2) electron degradation study on the thin films ablated in the Ar gas environment resulted in a decrease in the main CL intensity peak at 440 nm and to the development of a new very broad luminescent peak spectra ranging from 400 to 850 nm due to the growth of a SiO2 layer on the surface.  相似文献

By electrochemically controlling the structure of the surface aggregates, the grain microstructure has been optimized to yield mesoporous thin films of tungsten oxide (WO3) at the electrode-electrolyte interface in a peroxotungstate sol in the presence of a structure-directing agent (Triton) at room temperature. Apart from the dominant ultrafine nanocrystallites and pores (5-10 nm), well-developed abutting grains (25-100 nm) and nanofibrils also constitute an integral part of the film matrix. X-ray photoemission spectra reveal the as-deposited film (WO3−x) to be constituted by a high proportion of W6+ states with a low oxygen deficiency (x = 0.02). A relatively high W5+ content in the film, upon intercalation of 18 mC cm−2 charge translates into a large coloring efficiency (ηVIS ∼ 70 cm2 C−1) and transmission modulation. At a lithium intercalation level of 22 mC cm−2, in addition to W5+ and W6+ states, the film also comprises of W4+ states. The extremely fast color-bleach kinetics (3 and 2 s, respectively, for a 50% change in transmittance) shown by the as-deposited WO3 film are repercussions of the mesopore morphology, the multiple nanostructures and the sixfold channels of its hexagonal modification. The film shows a high cycling stability as the switching times do not show any significant decline even after 3500 repetitive cycles. Coloration efficiency over the solar and photopic regions and current density for lithium intercalation for the as-deposited film are superior to that observed for the films annealed at 100, 250 and 500 °C. The abysmal electrochromic response of the annealed films is a consequence of surface defects like cracks and uncontrolled densification and pore shrinkage.  相似文献

N-doped ZnO films were produced using N2 as N source by metal-organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) system which has been improved with radio-frequency (RF)-assisted equipments. The data of secondary ion mass spectroscopy (SIMS) indicate that the concentration of N in N-doped ZnO films is around 5 × 1020 cm−3, implying that sufficient incorporation of N into ZnO can be obtained by RF-assisted equipment. On this basis, the structural, optical and electrical properties of Al-N codoped ZnO films were studied. Then, the effect of RF power on crystal quality, surface morphologies, optical properties was analyzed using X-ray diffraction, atomic force microscopy and photo-luminescence methods. The results illustrate that the RF plasma is the key factor for the improvement of crystal quality. Then the observation of A0X recombination associated with NO acceptor in low-temperature PL spectrum proved that some N atoms have occupied the positions of O atoms in ZnO films. Hall measurements shown that p-type ZnO film deposited on quartz glasses was obtained when RF power was 150 W for the Al-N codoped ZnO films, while the resistivity of N-doped ZnO films was rather high. Compared with the Al-doped ZnO film, the obviously increased resistivity of codoped films indicates that the formation of NO acceptors compensate some donors in ZnO films effectively.  相似文献
