Numerical simulation results are presented for ‘Delft Flame III’, a piloted jet diffusion flame with strong turbulence–chemistry interaction. While pilot flames emerge from 12 separate holes in the experiments, the simulations are performed on a rectangular grid, under the assumption of axisymmetry. In the first part of the paper, flow and mixing field results are presented with a non-linear first order k–ε model, with the transport equation for ε based on a modeled enstrophy transport equation, for cold and reactive flows. For the latter, the turbulence model is applied in combination with pre-assumed β-PDF modeling for the turbulence–chemistry interaction. The mixture fraction serves as conserved scalar. Two chemistry models are considered: chemical equilibrium and a steady laminar flamelet model. The importance of the turbulence model is highlighted. The influence of the chemistry model is noticeable too. A procedure is described to construct appropriate inlet boundary conditions. Still, the generation of accurate inlet boundary conditions is shown to be far less important, their effect being local, close to the nozzle exit. In the second part of the paper, results are presented with the transported scalar PDF approach as turbulence–chemistry interaction model. A C1 skeletal scheme serves as chemistry model, while the EMST method is applied as micro-mixing model. For the transported PDF simulations, the model for the pilot flames, as an energy source term in the mean enthalpy transport equation, is important with respect to the accuracy of the flow field predictions. It is explained that the strong influence on the flow and mixing field is through the turbulent shear stress force in the region, close to the nozzle exit.  相似文献

Results are presented of experimental investigations of the effect of low-frequency acoustic perturbations of different frequency and constant intensity on the root part of a nonisothermal subsonic turbulent jet escaping from a direct-jet injector with a conical diffusor in the 0.031–0.054 range of Strouhal numbers. Experimental dependences of the mean velocity and the longitudinal intensity of the turbulence are presented as a function of different parameters for both the unperturbed flow and for the flow in the acoustic field.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 4, pp. 182–186, July–August, 1970.The authors are grateful to A. A relatively simple mathematical model of the three-dimensional turbulent flow of a stratified fluid is proposed. This makes it possible to calculate the velocity and temperature fields and to estimate the fluctuating characteristics of the flow using three empirical constants. Two problems are solved numerically: stratified flow in an open channel and three-dimensional flow in the Ekibastuz district power station's cooling basin-reservoir. The results are consistent with the experimental data and field measurements.Translated from Izvestiya Rossiiskoi Akademii Nauk, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No.3, pp. 29–34, May–June, 1992.  相似文献

We study within the framework of linear theory the stability of plane-parallel flows of a viscous, electrically conducting fluid in a transverse magnetic field. The magnetic Reynolds numbers are assumed small. The critical Reynolds number as a function of the Hartmann number is obtained over the entire range of variation of the latter. The small perturbation spectrum is studied in detail on the example of Hartmann flow. Neutral curves are constructed for symmetric and antisymmetric disturbances. The destablizing effect of a magnetic field is studied in the case of modified Couette flow. The results obtained agree with the calculations of Lock and Kakutani (where they meet) and are at variance with the results of Pavlov.Translated from Zhurnal Prikladnoi Mekhaniki i Tekhnicheskoi Fiziki, Vol. 11, No. 3, pp. 127–131, May–June, 1970.The authors wish to thank M. A new analytic solution is constructed for the nonlinear transonic equations describing the irrotational far flow field (with two symmetry axes) in the case of transonic flow past a nonlifting profile. With increasing distance from the profile, the nonlinear field goes over continuously into the field of the linear theory. The solution is expressed in terms of an elliptic Weierstrass function.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 6, pp. 171–173, Novembe–December,1982.  相似文献

In two-dimensional supersonic gasdynamics, one of the classical steady-state problems, which include shock waves and other discontinuities, is the problem concerning the oblique reflection of a shock wave from a plane wall. It is well known [1–3] that two types of reflection are possible: regular and Mach. The problem concerning the regular reflection of a magnetohydrodynamic shock wave from an infinitely conducting plane wall is considered here within the scope of ideal magnetohydrodynamics [4]. It is supposed that the magnetic field, normal to the wall, is not equal to zero. The solution of the problem is constructed for incident waves of different types (fast and slow). It is found that, depending on the initial data, the solution can have a qualitatively different nature. In contrast from gasdynamics, the incident wave is reflected in the form of two waves, which can be centered rarefaction waves. A similar problem for the special case of the magnetic field parallel to the flow was considered earlier in [5, 6]. The normal component of the magnetic field at the wall was equated to zero, the solution was constructed only for the case of incidence of a fast shock wave, and the flow pattern is similar in form to that of gasdynamics. The solution of the problem concerning the reflection of a shock wave constructed in this paper is necessary for the interpretation of experiments in shock tubes [7–10].Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 3, pp. 102–109, May–June, 1977.The author thanks A. The flow of a mixture of gas and condensed particles in an axisymmetric Laval nozzle is considered. The motion of the particles is calculated in a specified field of gas flow, with due allowance for their turbulent diffusion. The results of calculations indicating the necessity of allowing for this phenomenon when considering the motion of particles toward the wall of a profiled nozzle are presented.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, No. 2, pp. 161–165, March–April, 1973.  相似文献

Plane problems on the distribution of a two-dimensional magnetic field in magnetohydrodynamic channels with ferromagnetic walls at appreciable magnetic Reynolds numbers and prescribed flow hydrodynamics are studied. An integral representation for the total magnetic induction is constructed with the use of a complex influence function describing the field resulting from a unit current. This makes it possible to obtain arbitrarily close approximations to exact solutions of the problems on a digital computer. Influence functions for various channels can be determined by mirror reflections and conformai mappings. The method is illustrated by numerical calculations of the distribution of the magnetic field for the flow of a conducting fluid along a plane ferromagnetic wall and the flow of a fluid in the space between ferromagnetic walls. Calculations are carried out on the effect of an external circuit and an inhomogeneous transverse velocity profile on the distribution of the magnetic field.Translated from Zhumal Prikladnoi Mekhaniki i Tekhnicheskoi Fiziki, No. 5, pp. 3–11, September–October, 1971.In conclusion the authors thank G. Experimental investigations into the stability of a plane jet [1, 2] show that after the stationary flow has lost its stability a stable autooscillatory regime arises. In the present paper, an autooscillatory flow in a jet is studied theoretically on the basis of a plane-parallel flow in a fairly wide channel in the presence of a field of external forces. The external forces are such that at zero amplitude of the autooscillations they produce a Bickley—Schlichting velocity profile. The excitation of the secondary regimes is studied by the methods of bifurcation theory [3].Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 3, pp. 26–32, May–June, 1979.We thank M. One component of the solution to the problem of flow around a corner within the scope of magnetohydrodynamics, with the interception or stationary reflection of magnetohydrodynamic shock waves, and also steady-state problems comprising an ionizing shock wave, is the steady-state solution of the equations of magnetohydrodynamics, independent of length but depending on a combination of space variables, for example, on the angle. The flows described by these solutions are called stationary simple waves; they were considered for the first time in [1], where the behavior of the flow was investigated in stationary rotary simple waves, in which no change of density occurs. For a magnetic wave, of parallel velocity, the first integrals were found and the solution was reduced to a quadrature. The investigations and the applications of the solutions obtained for a qualitative construction of the problems of streamline flow were continued in [2–8]. In particular, problems were solved concerning flow around thin bodies of a conducting ideal gas. The general solution of the problem of streamline flow or the intersection of shock waves was not found because stationary simple waves with the magnetic field not parallel to the flow velocity were not investigated. The necessity for the calculation of such a flow may arise during the interpretation of the experimental results [9] in relation to the flow of an ionized gas. In the present paper, we consider stationary simple waves with the magnetic field not parallel to the flow velocity. A system of three nonlinear differential equations, describing fast and slow simple waves, is investigated qualitatively. On the basis of the pattern constructed of the behavior of the integral curves, the change of density, magnetic field, and velocity are found and a classification of the waves is undertaken, according to the nature of the change in their physical quantities. The relation between waves with outgoing and incoming characteristics is explained. A qualitative difference is discovered for the flow investigated from the flow in a magnetic field parallel to the flow velocity.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 5, pp. 130–138, September–October, 1976.The author thanks A. A modification of the shadow method which can be used to measure the three-dimensional averaged fields of the refractive index in turbulent flows is described. The method is applied to the measurement of a temperature field in a turbulent convective flow. A stream of heated fluid flowing slowly out of a circular opening is used as the heat source. The measurement results are compared with asymptotic dependences for buoyant convective fluids [1].Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 2, pp. 199–203, March–April, 1977.  相似文献

The Navier-Stokes equations are used to investigate hypersonic flow of carbon dioxide gas over blunt bodies with allowance for nonequilibrium development of chemical reactions and vibrational relaxation of the CO2 molecules. The problem is solved by the method of stabilization by means of an implicit difference scheme that includes the use of Newton's iterative process. The results are given of calculations of the flow field, the convective heat flux, and the frictional stresses on the surface of blunt cones with spherical noses. The influence of admixtures on the flow field and the heat fluxes is investigated. The results of the calculations are compared with the locally self-similar solution for the neighborhood of the front stagnation point.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 5, pp. 199–202, September–October, 1979.  相似文献

We present results of an experimental study of the effect of flow pulsations on turbulent heat transfer in the transverse direction in propagation of sound waves. A significant increase in heat-transfer intensity was recorded at mean-square pressure pulsation amplitude p=168–180 dB at frequency f=100–150 Hz. The dependence of heat-transfer intensity on acoustic field characteristics is obtained.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 2, pp. 169–172, March–April, 1975.  相似文献

The analog of Orr's problem is formulated for MHD flows. Arbitrary three-dimensional disturbances satisfying the continuity equations are considered. It is established that direct interaction of the disturbances of the magnetic field and the velocity field cannot increase the energy estimate of the critical Reynolds number. Numerical calculations for Hartmann flow and modified Couette flows are made for the particular case of small magnetic Reynolds numbers, The minimum value of R is attained for disturbances with a wave vector perpendicular to the velocity vector of the main flow.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 4, pp. 3–9, July–August, 1971.The authors thank M. The flow in turbomachines is currently calculated either on the basis of a single successive solution of an axisymmetric problem (see, for example, [1-A]) and the problem of flow past cascades of blades in a layer of variable thickness [1, 5], or by solution of a quasi-three-dimensional problem [6–8], or on the basis of three-dimensional models of the motion [9–11]. In this paper, we derive equations of a three-dimensional model of the flow of an ideal incompressible fluid for an arbitrary curvilinear system of coordinates based on averaging the equations of motion in the Gromek–Lamb form in the azimuthal direction; the pulsation terms are taken into account in the equations of the quasi-three-dimensional motion. An algorithm for numerical solution of the problem is described. The results of calculations are given and compared with experimental data for flows in the blade passages of an axial pump and a rotating-blade turbine. The obtained results are analyzed.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 2, pp. 69–76, March–April, 1991.I thank A. I. Kuzin and A. V. The mathetical model of porous medium anisotropy induced by an intense flow is discussed. The model is based on the orientation and deformation of the particles of the elastic matrix. The governing law of flow with induced anisotropy is analyzed and the model is numerically investigated for plane-radial flow. Problems and boundary conditions are formulated. The hydrodynamic stability of plane magnetohydrodynamic Couette flow with asymmetrical velocity profile formed by a transverse magnetic field is investigated within the framework of the linear theory. The complete spectrum of the small perturbations is studied for the characteristic Hartmann numbers. The perturbations are classified in accordance with their phase velocity at large wave numbers. It is established that the stability of the flow is controlled by only one type of perturbations. The critical parameters of the problem are determined. The instability in question recalls the instability of Hartmann flow against asymmetrical perturbations.Translated from Zhurnal Prikladnoi Mekhaniki i Tekhnicheskoi Fiziki, No. 3, pp. 12–18, May–June, 1971.The author thanks M. The results are given of a calculation of laminar flow in a channel of square section and the motion of a turbulent jet from a cruciform nozzle in an ambient flow. To calculate the secondary flows, the field of the transverse velocity is decomposed into irrotational and solenoidal components. The results of the calculation of the flow in the channel are compared with the calculations of other authors and experimental data. To calculate the flow in the turbulent jet, a one-parameter turbulence model is used, and the influence of the inhomogeneity of the distribution of the longitudinal component of the velocity on the components of the Reynolds stress tensor is taken into account. The results of calculation of the flow in the jet behind a cruciform nozzle are compared with experimental data.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 4, pp. 36–44, July–August, 1984.  相似文献

In the present study using the Newtonian approximation [1] we obtain an analytical solution to the problem of flow of a steady, uniform, hypersonic, nonviscous, radiating gas past a sphere. The three-dimensional radiative-loss approximation is used. A distribution is found for the gasdynamic parameters in the shock layer, the withdrawal of the shock wave and the radiant thermal flux to the surface of the sphere. The Newtonian approximation was used earlier in [2, 3] to analyze a gas flow with radiation near the critical line. In [2] the radiation field was considered in the differential approximation, with the optical absorption coefficient being assumed constant. In [3] the integrodifferential energy equation with account of radiation was solved numerically for a gray gas. In [4–7] the problem of the flow of a nonviscous, nonheat-conducting gas behind a shock wave with account of radiation was solved numerically. To calculate the radiation field in [4, 7] the three-dimensional radiative-loss approximation was used; in [5, 6] the self-absorption of the gas was taken into account. A comparison of the equations obtained in the present study for radiant flow from radiating air to a sphere with the numerical calculations [4–7] shows them to have satisfactory accuracy.Translated from Zhurnal Prikladnoi Mekhaniki i Tekhnicheskoi Fiziki, No. 6, pp. 44–49, November–December, 1972.In conclusion the author thanks G.
