In this study, the step size strategies are obtained such that the local error is smaller than the desired error level in the numerical integration of a type of nonlinear equation system in interval [t0,T][t0,T]. The algorithms are given for calculating step sizes and numerical solutions according to these strategies. The algorithms are supported by the numerical examples.  相似文献

A new criterion for satisfying the condition of strong ellipticity of the equilibrium equations of a homogeneous isotropic elastic medium is obtained, consisting of twelve unconditional and the same number of conditional inequalities. The criterion differs from previously known criteria in the fact that it is more effective for the analytical verification of the condition of strong ellipticity. A number of sufficient criteria of the strong ellipticity of the equations of the non-linear statics of an elastic body is presented. It is shown that the method used in this paper is also effective in the case of an incompressible material. A new constitutive inequality in the non-linear theory of elasticity is proposed that, in particular, ensures the strong ellipticity of the equilibrium equations and the stability of an elastic body in a state of hydrostatic compression. A mechanical interpretation of some implications of the above mentioned inequality is given. Using the criterion obtained, the condition of strong ellipticity is verified for a number of specific models of compressible elastic materials and examples of the violation of this condition are also considered.  相似文献

We provide an explicit rate of convergence to equilibrium for solutions of the Becker-Döring equations using the energy/energy-dissipation relation. The main difficulty is the structure of equilibria of the Becker-Döring equations, which do not correspond to a Gaussian measure, such that a logarithmic Sobolev-inequality is not available. We prove a weaker inequality which still implies for fast decaying data that the solution converges to equilibrium as ect1/3.  相似文献

本文研究了一类具有垂直传染和接触传染的传染病模型.利用常微分方程定性与稳定性方法,分析了该模型非负平衡点的存在性及其局部稳定性.同时,利用LaSalle不变性原理和通过构造适当的Lyapunov函数,获得了平凡平衡点、无病平衡点和地方病平衡点全局渐近稳定的充分条件.结果表明当基本再生数小于等于1时,所有种群趋于灭绝;当基本再生数大于1和病毒主导再生数小于1时,病毒很快被清除;当基本再生数大于1和病毒主导再生数大于1以及满足一定条件时,病毒持续流行并将成为一种地方病.  相似文献

We present a general principle of linearized stability at an equilibrium point for the Cauchy problem , for an -accretive, possibly multivalued, operator in a Banach space , that has a linear 'resolvent-derivative' . The result is applied to derive linearized stability results for the case of under 'minimal' differentiability assumptions on the operators and at the equilibrium point, as well as for partial differential delay equations. We introduce a concept of weak solution for a boundary value problem modelling the interactive motion of a coupled system consisting in a rigid body immersed in a viscous fluid. The fluid, and the solid are contained in a fixed open bounded set of R3. The motion of the fluid is governed by the incompresible Navier-Stokes equations and the standard conservation's laws of linear, and angular momentum rules the dynamics of the rigid body. The time variation of the fluid's domain (due to the motion of the rigid body) is not known apriori, so we deal with a free boundary value problem. Our main theorem asserts the existence of at least one weak solution for this problem. The result is global in time provided that the rigid body does not touch the boundary  相似文献

Two-grid methods are studied for solving a two dimensional nonlinear parabolic equation using finite volume element method. The methods are based on one coarse-grid space and one fine-grid space. The nonsymmetric and nonlinear iterations are only executed on the coarse grid and the fine-grid solution can be obtained in a single symmetric and linear step. It is proved that the coarse grid can be much coarser than the fine grid. The two-grid methods achieve asymptotically optimal approximation as long as the mesh sizes satisfy h=O(H3|lnH|)h=O(H3|lnH|). As a result, solving such a large class of nonlinear parabolic equations will not be much more difficult than solving one single linearized equation.  相似文献

In this paper, incorporating the delay of viral cytopathicity within target cells, we first presented a basic model of viral infection with delay, and then extended it into a model with two delays and two types of target cells. For the models proposed here, both their basic reproduction numbers are found. By constructing Lyapunov functionals, necessary and sufficient conditions ensuring the global stability of the models with delays are given. The obtained results show that, when the basic reproduction number is not greater than one, the infection-free equilibrium is globally stable in the feasible region, which implies that the virus infection goes extinct eventually; when it is greater than one, the infection equilibrium is globally stable in the feasible region, which implies that the virus infection persists in the body of host.  相似文献

Summary The topic of iterative substructuring methods, and more generally domain decomposition methods, has been extensively studied over the past few years, and the topic is well advanced with respect to first and second order elliptic problems. However, relatively little work has been done on more general constrained least squares problems (or equivalent formulations) involving equilibrium equations such as those arising, for example, in realistic structural analysis applications. The potential is good for effective use of iterative algorithms on these problems, but such methods are still far from being competitive with direct methods in industrial codes. The purpose of this paper is to investigate an order reducing, preconditioned conjugate gradient method proposed by Barlow, Nichols and Plemmons for solving problems of this type. The relationships between this method and nullspace methods, such as the force method for structures and the dual variable method for fluids, are examined. Convergence properties are discussed in relation to recent optimality results for Varga's theory ofp-cyclic SOR. We suggest a mixed approach for solving equilibrium equations, consisting of both direct reduction in the substructures and the conjugate gradient iterative algorithm to complete the computations.Dedicated to R. The existence of solutions of a class of two-point boundary value problems for higher order differential equations is studied. Sufficient conditions for the existence of at least one solution are established. It is of interest that the nonlinearityf in the equation depends on all lower derivatives, and the growth conditions imposed onf are allowed to be super-linear (the degrees of phases variables are allowed to be greater than 1 if it is a polynomial). The results are different from known ones since we don’t apply the Green’s functions of the corresponding problem and the method to obtain a priori bound of solutions are different enough from known ones. Examples that can not be solved by known results are given to illustrate our theorems.  相似文献

We study the boundary exact controllability for the semilinear Schrödinger equation defined on an open, bounded, connected set Ω of a complete, n-dimensional, Riemannian manifold M with metric g. We prove the locally exact controllability around the equilibria under some checkable geometrical conditions. Our results show that exact controllability is geometrical characters of a Riemannian metric, given by the coefficients and equilibria of the semilinear Schrödinger equation. We then establish the globally exact controllability in such a way that the state of the semilinear Schrödinger equation moves from an equilibrium in one location to an equilibrium in another location.  相似文献

In this paper, a particular type of a system of generalized Volterra equations [1], whose solutions are assured to be nonnegative for arbitrary nonnegative initial values, is considered. The extended stability theorem of LaSalle is used for deriving conditions for a nonnegative equilibrium point to be stable with respect to a certain subset of the Euclidean space. The obtained stability theorem has a close relation with Lyapunov's stability condition for linear systems with constant coefficients and is generally less restrictive than conditions known so far.  相似文献

Conditions are found for the existence of integral invariants of Hamiltonian systems. For two-degrees-of-freedom systems these conditions are intimately related to the existence of nontrivial symmetry fields and multivalued integrals. Any integral invariant of a geodesic flow on an analytic surface of genus greater than 1 is shown to be a constant multiple of the Poincaré-Cartan invariant. Poincaré's conjecture that there are no additional integral invariants in the restricted three-body problem is proved. We study the boundary exact controllability for a system of two quasi-linear wave equations coupled in parallel with springs and viscous terms. We prove the locally exact controllability around superposition equilibria under some checkable geometrical conditions. We then establish the globally exact controllability in such a way that the state of the coupled quasi-linear system moves from a superposition equilibrium in one location to a superposition equilibrium in another location. Our results show that exact controllability is geometrical characters of a Riemannian metric, given by the coefficients and superposition equilibria of the system.  相似文献

In this contribution we present the least-squares finite element method (LSFEM) for the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations. In detail, we consider a non-Newtonian fluid flow, which is described by a power-law model, see [1]. The second-order problem is reformulated by introducing a first-order div-grad system consisting of the equilibrium condition, the incompressibility condition and the constitutive equation, which are written in residual forms, see [2]. We show that for any sequence tn→∞ and any global weak solution (ρ(t), u(t)) of barotropic compressible Navier-Stokes equations in 2 and 3 space dimensions with potential force there exists a subsequence {sn} such that ϱ(sn) in L ω r (Ω) of spatially periodic functions, where ϱ is an equilibrium density, r>1 suitable.
