In this paper, we discuss three fundamental problems of the theory of suspended sand particles based on the theory of fluid dynamics. They are: (1) the relative velocity of sand particles to the surrounding fluid in the turbulent flow, (2) the variation of the velocity fluctuation of the fluid when the suspended sand particles exist, (3) the profile of the vertical distribution of the concentration of the suspended sand particles in two-dimensional uniform steady channel flow and the modification of usual diffusion theory. The results of our theoretical analysis are somewhat different from the corresponding expressions in the textbooks of hydraulics and river mechanics.  相似文献

In the past, the analysis of species separation in a thermogravitational column filled with porous media has been based on strong dependency of thermal and molecular diffusion to dispersion. In this work, we suggest an alternative and show that the dispersion effect is negligible for the conditions in a packed hermogravitational column and that compositional dependency of the thermal diffusion should be accounted for.  相似文献

Condensation under high relative humidity, imbibition under zero capillary pressure, and drying in a cracked mesoporous slab is numerically simulated. The porous medium is homogeneous, the crack lattice is periodic and has uniform aperture and transport properties. It is found that the crack lattice density and the crack hydraulic conductivity has minor influence on the global kinetics of condensation and drying, and a strong influence on the imbibition kinetics. The transient effects of the heterogeneity of the medium are examined from three view-points: the study of the spatial distribution of pressure head, the tentative definition of an effective diffusivity, and the comparison between the quasi-static and transient transport properties. The equivalent homogeneous medium approach is found to be relatively satisfactory to describe the global kinetics in the three processes. The transient effects appear in secondary features of the processes.  相似文献

In this paper analytical solutions for the steady fully developed laminar fluid flow in the parallel-plate and cylindrical channels partially filled with a porous medium and partially with a clear fluid are presented. The Brinkman-extended Darcy equation is utilized to model the flow in a porous region. The solutions account for the boundary effects and for the stress jump boundary condition at the interface recently suggested by Ochoa-Tapia and Whitaker. The dependence of the velocity on the Darcy number and on the adjustable coefficient in the stress jump boundary condition is investigated. It is shown that accounting for a jump in the shear stress at the interface essentially influences velocity profiles.  相似文献

The onset of thermohaline convection in an anisotropic rotating porous layer of infinite horizontal extent is investigated. Numerical computations are made assuming horizontal isotropy in permeability. It is observed that (i) for certain parameters a bottom-heavy arrangement destabilises a rotating anisotropic porous layer, (ii) the lower the anisotropy parameter, the higher the range of bottom-heavy solute gradient for which there is destabilisation, (iii) increase in the anisotropy parameter stabilises the system, and (iv) for some values of the parameters rotation destabilises the system, though in general, it has a stabilising effect.  相似文献

Diffusion is an important transport process in low permeability media, which play an important role in contamination and remediation of natural environments. The calculation of equivalent diffusion parameters has however not been extensively explored. In this paper, expressions of the equivalent diffusion coefficient and the equivalent diffusion accessible porosity normal to the layering in a layered porous medium are derived based on analytical solutions of the diffusion equation. The expressions show that the equivalent diffusion coefficient changes with time. It is equal to the power average with p = −0.5 for small times and converges to the harmonic average for large times. The equivalent diffusion accessible porosity is the harmonic average of the porosities of the individual layers for all times. The expressions are verified numerically for several test cases.  相似文献

The free convective heat transfer to the power-law non-Newtonian flow from a vertical plate in a porous medium saturated with nanofluid under laminar conditions is investigated. It is considered that the non-Newtonian nanofluid obeys the mathematical model of power-law. The model used for the nanofluid incorporates the effects of Brownian motion and thermophoresis. The partial differential system governing the problem is transformed into an ordinary system via a usual similarity transformation. The numerical solutions of the resulting ordinary system are obtained. These solutions depend on the power-law index n, Lewis number Le, buoyancy-ratio number N r, Brownian motion number N b, and thermophoresis number N t. For various values of n and Le, the effects of the influence parameters on the fluid behavior as well as the reduced Nusselt number are presented and discussed.  相似文献

This paper investigates mixed free and forced convection of non-Newtonian fluids from a vertical isothermal plate embedded in a homogenous porous medium. A mathematical model is developed based on the modified Darcy's law and boundary-layer approximations, and the exact similarity solution is obtained as well as an integral solution. These two solutions agree within 3% for aiding flows and 10% for opposing flows. It is found that, non-Newtonian characteristics of fluids have appreciable influences on velocity profiles, temperature distributions and flow regimes.  相似文献

研究了流体饱和不可压黏弹性多孔介质中的非均匀平面波及其能量流和能量耗散规律. 在流 相和固相物质微观不可压、固相骨架宏观服从积分型本构关系和小变形的假定下,利用 Helmholtz分解,得到了饱和黏弹性多孔介质中非均匀平面波的一般解以及纵波、横波相速 度和衰减率等的解析表达式,分析了平面波传播矢量和衰减矢量之间的关系. 数值结果表明 孔隙流体与固相骨架间的相互作用以及固相骨架的黏性对波的相速度、衰减率等有着显著的 影响. 同时,得到了饱和黏弹性多孔介质的能量方程,给出了能量流矢量和能量耗散率. 对 非均匀平面纵波和横波,推导了平均能量流矢量和平均能量耗散率的解析表达式.  相似文献

The field equations governing the propagation of waves in an incompressible liquid-saturated porous medium are investigated and a general solution is presented. It has been revealed that coupled longitudinal and transverse waves propagate in the porous medium. The propagation of transverse waves in the fluid phase is completely due to the interaction between the solid and fluid phases. The dispersion relationship and attenuation features are discussed. Unlike other investigations, all explicit forms of the arguments are derived. The reflection of the plane harmonic waves at the plane, traction-free boundary, which shows the influence of the dissipation on the velocity, and the attenuation coefficients of the reflected waves is studied. It is of interest that pore pressure is produced in the process of reflection, even in the case of the incidence of transverse waves.  相似文献

Entropy generation for thermally developing forced convection in a porous medium bounded by two isothermal parallel plates is investigated analytically on the basis of the Darcy flow model where the viscous dissipation effects had also been taken into account. A parametric study showed that decreasing the group parameter and the Peclet number increases the entropy generation while for the Brinkman number the converse is true. Heatline visualization technique is applied with an emphasis on the Br 〈 0 case where there is somewhere that heat transfer changes direction at some streamwise location to the wall instead of its original direction, i.e., from the wall.  相似文献

The problem of the onset of electrohydrodynamic instability in a horizontal layer of Oldroydian viscoelastic dielectric liquid through Brinkman porous medium under the simultaneous action of a certical ac electric field and a vertical temperature gradient is analyzed. Applying linear stability theory, we derive an equation of eight order. Under somewhat suitable boundary conditions, this equation can be solved exactly to yield the required eigenvalue relationship from which various critical values are determined in detail. Both the cases of stationary and oscillatory instabilities are discussed if the liquid layer is heated from below or above. The effects of the porosity of porous medium, the medium permeability, the Prandtl number, the ratio of retardation time to relaxation time, the elastic number, in the presence or absence of Rayleigh number are shown graphically for both cases. Some of the known results are derived as special cases. The electrical force has been shown to be the sole agency causing instability of the considered system since it is much more important than the buoyancy force even if the medium is porous.  相似文献

This paper gives an overview on nonlinear porous flow in low permeability porous media, reveals the microscopic mechanisms of flows, and clarifies properties of porous flow fluids. It shows that, deviating from Darcy's linear law, the porous flow characteristics obey a nonlinear law in a low-permeability porous medium, and the viscosity of the porous flow fluid and the permeability values of water and oil are not constants. Based on these characters, a new porous flow model, which can better describe low permeability reservoir, is established. This model can describe various patterns of porous flow, as Darcy's linear law does. All the parameters involved in the model, having definite physical meanings, can be obtained directly from the experiments.  相似文献

The effective (single-phase) permeability of an (infinite) heterogeneous porous medium is studied using a formalism of Green's functions. We give formal expressions for it in the form of a series expansion involving the microscopic random-permeability field many-body correlation functions of higher and higher order.The particular case of a log-normal medium of infinite extent is studied using field-theoretical methods. Using partial series resummation techniques, we derivea formula up to all orders in the local correlations which was first reckoned by many authors by means of a first-order calculation. The formula — which remains an approximation — works whatever the dimensionality of the space, and gives the following simple estimate for the effective permeability in 3 D:K eff=k 1/33. A new numerical scheme, theimplicit correction scheme, has been developed for heat transfer in a porous medium with strong temperature gradients. The scheme includes diffusion, convection and transverse heat transfer processes. By using correction coefficients which are based on transverse heat transfer, the effects of convection enthalpy flow and diffusion are modified. Under suitable limiting conditions, the implicit correction scheme can be reduced to the central-difference, upwind, or power-law scheme. The correction scheme is shown to be especially useful in calculations of the thermal effectiveness of the regenerator in Stirling cycle refrigeration.  相似文献

Functions of the relative phase permeabilities which take into account the tensor nature of the relations between the absolute and phase permeabilities are constructed on the basis of experimental data. Problems of the displacement of gas by water and of water by gas in an orthotropic pore space are studied. The relative phase permeabilities obtained are compared with functions that depend only on the local saturation. The effect of the phase compressibility and the anisotropy of the absolute permeability tensor is considered.  相似文献

The effects of anisotropy on the steady laminar boundary-layer free convection over a vertical impermeable surface are analysed by using the method of integral relations.
