Treatments of Mn(O(2)CR)(2) (R = Me, Ph) with NBu(4)MnO(4) in CH(3)CN or CH(3)CN/CH(2)Cl(2) in the presence of acetic acid, delta(1)-cyclohexenephosphonic acid (C(6)H(9)PO(3)H(2)), and 2,2'-bipyridine or 1,10-phenanthroline result in three novel dodecamanganese(III) clusters [Mn(12)O(8)(O(2)CMe)(6)(O(3)PC(6)H(9))(7)(bipy)(3)] (1), [Mn(12)O(8)(O(2)CPh)(6)(O(3)PC(6)H(9))(7)(bipy)(3)] (2), and [Mn(12)O(8)(O(2)CPh)(6)(O(3)PC(6)H(9))(7)(phen)(3)] (3). They have a similar Mn(12) core of [Mn(III)(12)(mu(4)-O)(3)(mu(3)-O)(5)(mu-O(3)P)(3)] with a new type of topologic structure. Solid-state dc magnetic susceptibility measurements of complexes 1-3 reveal that dominant antiferromagnetic interactions are propagated between the magnetic centers. The ac magnetic measurements suggest an S = 2 ground state for compounds 1 and 3 and an S = 3 ground state for compound 2.  相似文献

We have structurally and magnetically characterized a total of 12 complexes based on the Single-Molecule Magnet (SMM) [MnIII6O2(sao)6(O2CH)2(MeOH) 4] (1) (where sao2- is the dianion of salicylaldoxime or 2-hydroxybenzaldeyhyde oxime) that display analogous structural cores but remarkably different magnetic behaviors. Via the use of derivatized oxime ligands and bulky carboxylates we show that it is possible to deliberately increase the value of the spin ground state of the complexes [Mn6O2(Me-sao)6(O2CCPh3)2(EtOH)4] (2), [Mn6O2(Et-sao)6(O2CCMe3)2(EtOH)5] (3), [Mn6O2(Et-sao)6(O2CPh2OPh)2(EtOH)4] (4), [Mn6O2(Et-sao)6(O2CPh4OPh)2(EtOH)4(H2O)2] (5), [Mn6O2(Me-sao)6(O2CPhBr)2(EtOH)6] (6), [Mn6O2(Et-sao)6(O2CPh)2(EtOH)4(H2O)2] (7), [Mn6O2(Et-sao)6{O2CPh(Me)2}2(EtOH)6] (8), [Mn6O2(Et-sao)6(O2C11H15)2(EtOH)6] (9), [Mn6O2(Me-sao)6(O2C-th)2(EtOH)4(H2O)2] (10), [Mn6O2(Et-sao)6(O2CPhMe)2(EtOH)4(H2O)2] (11), and [Mn6O2(Et-sao)6(O2C12H17)2(EtOH)4(H2O)2] (12) (Et-saoH2 = 2-hydroxypropiophenone oxime, Me-saoH2 = 2-hydroxyethanone oxime, HO2CCPh3 = triphenylacetic acid, HO2CCMe3 = pivalic acid, HO2CPh2OPh = 2-phenoxybenzoic acid, HO2CPh4OPh = 4-phenoxybenzoic acid, HO2CPhBr = 4-bromobenzoic acid, HO2CPh(Me)2 = 3,5-dimethylbenzoic acid, HO2C11H15 = adamantane carboxylic acid, HO2C-th = 3-thiophene carboxylic acid, HO2CPhMe = 4-methylbenzoic acid, and HO2C12H17 = adamantane acetic acid) in a stepwise fashion from S = 4 to S = 12 and, in-so-doing, enhance the energy barrier for magnetization reorientation to record levels. The change from antiferromagnetic to ferromagnetic exchange stems from the "twisting" or "puckering" of the (-Mn-N-O-)3 ring, as evidenced by the changes in the Mn-N-O-Mn torsion angles.  相似文献

Hydrothermal reactions of manganese(II) salts with m-sulfophenylphosphonic acid (m-HO3S-Ph-PO3H2, H3L) and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) led to six novel manganese(II) sulfonate-phosphonates, namely, [Mn2(HL)2(phen)4][Mn2(HL)2(phen)4(H2O)](2).6H2O (1), [Mn4(L)2(phen)8(H2O)2][ClO4](2).3H2O (2), [Mn(phen)(H2O)4]2[Mn4(L)4(phen)4].10H2O (3), [Mn6(L)4(phen)8(H2O)2].4H2O (4), [Mn6(L)4(phen)8(H2O)2].24H2O (5), and [Mn6(L)4(phen)6(H2O)4].5H2O (6). The structure of 1 contains two types of dinuclear manganese(II) clusters, and 2-3 exhibit two types of tetranuclear manganese(II) cluster units. 4-5 feature two different types of isolated hexanuclear manganese(II) clusters, whereas the hexanuclear manganese(II) clusters in 6 are bridged by sulfonate-phosphonate ligands into a 1D chain. Magnetic property measurements indicate that there exist weak antiferromagnetic interactions between magnetic centers in all six compounds.  相似文献

A family of manganese complexes, [Mn 5O 3( t-BuPO 3) 2(MeCOO) 5(H 2O)(phen) 2] ( 1), [Mn 5O 3( t-BuPO 3) 2(PhCOO) 5(phen) 2] ( 2), [Mn 4O 2( t-BuPO 3) 2(RCOO) 4(bpy) 2] (R = Me, ( 3); R = Ph, ( 4)), NBu (n) 4[Mn 4O 2(EtCOO) 3(MeCOO) 4(pic) 2] ( 5), NR' 4[Mn 4O 2( i-PrCOO) 7(pic) 2] (R' = Bu (n) , ( 6); R' = Et, ( 7)), were synthesized and characterized. The seven manganese clusters were all prepared from a reaction system containing tert-butylphosphonic acid, Mn(O 2CR) 2 (R = Me, Ph) and NR' 4MnO 4 (R' = Bu (n) , Et) with similar procedures except for using different N-containing ligands (1,10-phenanthroline (phen), 2,2'-bipyridine (bpy) and picolinic acid (picH)) as coligands. The structures of these complexes vary with the N-containing donors. Both the cores of complexes 1 and 2 feature three mu 3-O and two capping t-BuPO 3 (2-) groups bridging five Mn (III) atoms to form a basket-like cage structure. Complexes 3 and 4 both have one [Mn 4(mu 3-O) 2] (8+) core with four coplanar Mn (III) atoms disposed in an extended "butterfly-like" arrangement and two capping mu 3- t-BuPO 3 (2-) binding to three manganese centers above and below the Mn 4 plane. Complexes 5, 6, and 7 all possess one [Mn 4(mu 3-O) 2] (8+) core just as complexes 3 and 4, but they display a folded "butterfly-like" conformation with the four Mn (III) atoms nonplanar. Thus, the seven compounds are classified into three types, and three representative compounds 1.2H 2O.MeOH.MeCN , 3.6H 2O.2MeCOOH , and 5.0.5H 2O have been characterized by IR spectroscopy, ESI-MS spectroscopy, magnetic measurements and in situ UV-vis-NIR spectroelectrochemical analysis. Magnetic susceptibility measurements reveal the existence of both ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic interactions between the adjacent Mn (III) ions in compound 1.2H 2O.MeOH.MeCN , and antiferromagnetic interactions in 3.6H 2O.2MeCOOH and 5.0.5H 2O. Fitting the experimental data led to the following parameters: J 1 = -2.18 cm (-1), J 2 = 6.93 cm (-1), J 3 = -13.94 cm (-1), J 4 = -9.62 cm (-1), J 5 = -11.17 cm (-1), g = 2.00 ( 1.2H 2O.MeOH.MeCN ), J 1 = -5.41 cm (-1), J 2 = -35.44 cm (-1), g = 2.13, zJ' = -1.55 cm (-1) ( 3.6H 2O.2MeCOOH ) and J 1 = -2.29 cm (-1), J 2 = -35.21 cm (-1), g = 2.02, zJ' = -0.86 cm (-1) ( 5.0.5H 2O ).  相似文献

The syntheses, structures, and magnetic properties are reported of [Mn12O12(O2CPe(t))16(MeOH)4] (4), [Mn6O2(O2CH2)(O2CPe(t))11(HO2CPe(t))2(O2CMe)] (5), [Mn9O6(OH)(CO3)(O2CPe(t))12(H2O)2] (6), and [Mn4O2(O2CPe(t))6(bpy)2] (7, bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine), where Pe(t) = tert-pentyl (Pe(t)CO2H = 2,2-dimethylbutyric acid). These complexes were all prepared from reactions of [Mn12O12(O2CPe(t))16(H2O)4] (3) in CH2Cl2. Complex 4 x 2MeCN crystallizes in the triclinic space group P1 and contains a central [Mn(IV)4O4] cubane core that is surrounded by a nonplanar ring of eight alternating Mn(III) and eight mu3-O(2-) ions. This is only the third Mn12 complex in which the four bound water molecules have been replaced by other ligands, in this case MeOH. Complex 5 x (1/2)CH2Cl2 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/c and contains two [Mn3(mu3-O)]7+ units linked at two of their apexes by two Pe(t)CO2(-) ligands and one mu4-CH2O2(2-) bridge. The complex is a new structural type in Mn chemistry, and also contains only the third example of a gem-diolate unit bridging four metal ions. Complex 6 x H2O x Pe(t)CO2H crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Cmc2(1) and possesses a [Mn(III)9(mu3-O)6(mu-OH)(mu3-CO3)]12+ core. The molecule contains a mu3-CO3(2-) ion, the first example in a discrete Mn complex. Complex 7 x 2H2O crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/c and contains a known [Mn(III)2Mn(II)2(mu3-O)2]6+ core that can be considered as two edge-sharing, triangular [Mn3O] units. Additionally, the synthesis and magnetic properties of a new enneanuclear cluster of formula [Mn9O7(O2CCH2Bu(t))13(THF)2] (8, THF = tetrahydrofuran) are reported. The molecule was obtained by the reaction of [Mn12O12(O2CCH2Bu(t))16(H2O)4] (2) with THF. Complexes 2 and 4 display quasireversible redox couples when examined by cyclic voltammetry in CH2Cl2; oxidations are observed at -0.07 V (2) and -0.21 V (4) vs ferrocene. The magnetic properties of complexes 4-8 have been studied by direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC) magnetic susceptibility techniques. The ground-state spin of 4 was established by magnetization measurements in the 1.80-4.00 K and 0.5-7 T ranges. Fitting of the reduced magnetization data by full matrix diagonalization, incorporating a full powder average and including only axial anisotropy, gave S = 10, g = 2.0(1), and D = -0.39(10) cm(-1). The complex exhibits two frequency-dependent out-of-phase AC susceptibility signals (chi(M)') indicative of slow magnetization relaxation. An Arrhenius plot obtained from chi(M)' vs T data gave an effective energy barrier to relaxation (U(eff)) of 62 and 35 K for the slower and faster relaxing species, respectively. These studies suggest that complex 4 is a single-molecule magnet (SMM). DC susceptibility studies on complexes 5-8 display overall antiferromagnetic behavior and indicate ground-state spin values of S < or = 2. AC susceptibility studies at < 10 K confirm these small values and indicate the population of low-lying excited states even at these low temperatures. This supports the small ground-state spin values to be due to spin frustration effects.  相似文献

The use of di-2-pyridyl ketone oxime, (py)2CNOH, in manganese carboxylate chemistry has been investigated. Using a variety of synthetic routes complexes [Mn(O2CPh)2{(py)2CNOH}2].0.25H2O (1.0.25H2O), Mn4(O2CPh)2{(py)2CO2}2{(py)2CNO}2Br2].MeCN (2.MeCN), [Mn4(O2CPh)2{(py)2CO2}2{(py)2CNO}2Cl(2)].2MeCN (3.2MeCN), [Mn4(O2CMe)2{(py)2CO2}2{(py)2CNO}2Br2].2MeCN (4.2MeCN), [Mn4(O2CMe)2{(py)2CO2}2{(py)2CNO}2(NO3)2].MeCN.H2O (5.MeCN.H2O) and [Mn2(O2CCF3)2(hfac)2{(py)2CNOH}2] (6) have been isolated in good yields. Remarkable features of the reactions are the in situ transformation of an amount of (py)2CNOH to yield the coordination dianion, (py)2CO2(2-), of the gem-diol derivative of di-2-pyridyl ketone in 2-5, the coordination of nitrate ligands in 5 although the starting materials are nitrate-free and the incorporation of CF3CO2- ligands 6 in which was prepared from Mn(hfac)(2).3H2O (hfac(-)= hexafluoroacetylacetonate). Complexes 2-4 have completely analogous molecular structures. The centrosymmetric tetranuclear molecule contains two MnII and two MnIII six-coordinate ions held together by four mu-oxygen atoms from the two 3.2211 (py)2CO2(2-) ligands to give the unprecedented [MnII(mu-OR)MnIII(mu-OR)2MnIII(mu-OR)MnII]6+ core consisting of a planar zig-zag array of the four metal ions. Peripheral ligation is provided by two 2.111 (py)2CNO-, two 2.11 PhCO2- and two terminal Br- ligands. The overall molecular structure 5 of is very similar to that of 2-4 except for the X- being chelating NO3-. A tentative reaction scheme was proposed that explains the observed oxime transformation and nitrate generation. The CF3CO2- ligand is one of the decomposition products of the hfac- ligand. The two Mn(II) ions are bridged by two neutral (py)2CNOH ligands which adopt the 2.0111 coordination mode. A chelating hfac- ligand and a terminal CF3CO2- ion complete a distorted octahedral geometry at each metal ion. The CV of complex reveals irreversible reduction and oxidation processes. Variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility studies in the 2-300 K range for the representative tetranuclear clusters 2 and 4 reveal weak antiferromagnetic exchange interactions, leading to non-magnetic ST = 0 ground states. Best-fit parameters obtained by means of the program CLUMAG and applying the appropriate Hamiltonian are J(Mn(II)Mn((III))=-1.7 (2), -1.5 (4) cm(-1) and J(Mn(III)Mn(III))=-3.0 (2, 4) cm(-1).  相似文献

A rare Mn9 micro3-oxo-centered mixed-valent cluster [Mn9O7(O2CPh)11(thmn)(py)2 (H2O)3] (1) is prepared by assembling an oxo-centered MnIIMnIII2 triangle, [Mn3O(O2CPh)6(py)2(H2O)].0.5MeCN, as the secondary building unit in the presence of a tripodal alcohol, 1,1,1-tris(hydroxymethyl)nitromethane (H3thmn), as the capping ligand. Complex 1 was formed along with a minor byproduct, [Mn6O2(O2CPh)10(MeCN)4] (2). Complex 1 was characterized by X-ray single-crystal structure analysis and was crystallized in a monoclinic system, space group P2(1)/n, a=16.214(6) A, b=25.874(10) A, c=26.497(10) A, and beta=94.214(7) degrees. The Manganese-oxo-carboxylate core in 1 looks like a funnel. Variable-temperature magnetic studies down to 2 K reveal the existence of dominant ferromagnetic interaction within the cluster. Alternating current susceptibility data of the cluster show strong frequency dependence of both the real and imaginary parts of susceptibility chi' and chi' below 5 K. Moreover, the calculated relaxation time, tau0=1.2x10(-7) s, and the energy barrier, DeltaE=25 K, are consistent with the single-molecule magnetic behavior of 1.  相似文献

Group 2 metal complexes [Ca(SA)2(phen)]n (1), [Sr2(SA)4(phen)4] (2), and [Ba(SA)2(phen)2]n (3) (SA = salicylate) have been obtained by the addition of 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) to the corresponding metal salicylates, while the bipyridine derivatives {[Ca3(SA)6(H2O)4](4bpy)2}n (4), {[Sr(SA)2(H2O)3](4bpy)1.5(H2O)}n (5), and {[Ba(SA)2(H2O)3]-(4bpy)1.5(H2O)}n (6) have been synthesized starting from the respective metal carbonates, salicylic acid (SA-H), and 4,4'-bipyridine (4bpy). The new compounds have been characterized by elemental analysis, pH measurements, thermal analysis, and spectroscopic measurements (IR, NMR, ultraviolet, and fluorescence). Molecular structure determination by single-crystal X-ray diffraction has been carried out for all the compounds. The thermal analysis studies indicate the loss of coordinated and/or lattice water molecules below 200 degrees C in 4-6 and the absence of any coordinated or uncoordinated water molecules in compounds 1-3. Compounds 1 and 3-6 exist as one-dimensional polymers while compound 2 crystallizes as a discrete dimer. Considerable variations have been observed in the molecular structures of 1-6 in terms of the geometry around the metal, the binding mode of salicylate, and the coordination behavior of the pyridine ligand. Calcium ion is hexacoordinated in 1, while in 4 both hexa- and heptacoordinated calcium ions are simultaneously present. Strontium exhibits coordination numbers of nine and eight in 2 and 5, respectively. The barium ions in 3 and 6 assume coordination numbers of eight and seven, respectively. While the OH group of the salicylate ligand does not directly bind the metal in 1-3, it coordinates to the metal ions in complexes in 4-6 in the un-ionized form. The 4bpy molecules show no direct ligation to the metal in 4-6; the phen ligands in 1-3, however, occupy one side of the coordination sphere around the metal. The presence of additional O-H...O, C-H...O, and N-H...O hydrogen bonding and pi-pi stacking in these compounds results in the formation of polymeric structures. The results obtained for the calcium complexes in this study have been compared with the available data in structural calcium chemistry with the aid of a detailed analysis of the Cambridge Structural Database.  相似文献

The manganese, cobalt, and cadmium complexes [M(dtbp)2]n (M = Mn (1) and Co 2) and [Cd(dtbp)2(H2O)]n (3) (dtbp = di-tert-butyl phosphate), which exist as one-dimensional molecular wires, transform to non-interpenetrating rectangular grids [M(dtbp)2(bpy)2.2H2O]n (M = Mn (4), Co (5), and Cd (6)) by the addition of 4,4-bipyridine (bpy) at room temperature. Products 4-6 have also been prepared by a room-temperature reaction or by solvothermal synthesis in methanol through a direct reaction between the metal acetate, di-tert-butyl phosphate, and 4,4'-bipyridine (bpy) in a 1:2:2 molar ratio. Single-crystal X-ray structure determination of 4-6 shows that these compounds are composed of octahedral transition metal ions woven into a two-dimensional grid structure with the help of bpy spacer ligands. The axial coordination sites at the metal are occupied by bulky unidentate dtbp ligands, which prevent any interpenetration of the individual grids. The change of reaction conditions from solvothermal to hydrothermal, for the attempted synthesis of a magnesium grid structure, however leads to the isolation of an organic phosphate [(H2bpy)(H2PO4)2] (7) and an inorganic phosphate [Mg(HPO4)(OH2)3] (8). Compound 7 can also be prepared quantitatively from a direct reaction between bpy and H3PO4. The new organic phosphate 7 is a unique example of a phosphate material with alternating layers of [H2bpy]2+ cations and [H2PO4]- anions that are held together by hydrogen bonds. Solid-state thermal decomposition of 4-6 produced the respective metaphosphate materials [M(PO3)2] (M = Mn (9), Co (10), and Cd (11)). All new metal-organic phosphates have been characterized by elemental analysis, thermal analysis (TGA, DTA, DSC), and IR and NMR spectroscopy. The metaphosphate ceramic materials were characterized by IR spectral and powder X-ray diffraction studies.  相似文献

The reaction of manganese(II) salts with organophosphonic acid [t-BuPO(3)H(2) or cyclopentyl phosphonic acid (C(5)H(9)PO(3)H(2))] in the presence of ancillary nitrogen ligands [1,10-phenanthroline (phen) or 2,6-bis(pyrazol-3-yl)pyridine (dpzpy)], afforded, depending on the stoichiometry of the reactants and the reaction conditions, dinuclear, trinuclear, and tetranuclear compounds, [Mn(2)(t-BuPO(3)H)(4)(phen)(2)]·2DMF (1), [Mn(3)(C(5)H(9)PO(3))(2)(phen)(6)](ClO(4))(2)·7CH(3)OH (2), [Mn(3)(t-BuPO(3))(2)(dpzpy)(3)](ClO(4))(2)·H(2)O (3), [Mn(4)(t-BuPO(3))(2)(t-BuPO(3)H)(2)(phen)(6)(H(2)O)(2)](ClO(4))(2) (4), and [Mn(4)(C(5)H(9)PO(3))(2)(phen)(8)(H(2)O)(2)](ClO(4))(4) (5). Magnetic studies on 1, 2, and 4 reveal that the phosphonate bridges mediate weak antiferromagnetic interactions between the Mn(II) ions have also been carried out.  相似文献

Six heterometallic compounds based on the building block [Cr(bpy)(CN)4]- (bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine) with secondary and/or tertiary coligands as modulators, {Mn(H2O)2[Cr(bpy)(CN)4]2}n (1), {Mn(bpy)(H2O)[Cr(bpy)(CN)4]2 x H2O}n (2), [Mn(bpy)2][Cr(bpy)(CN)4]2 x 5H2O (3), {[Mn(dca)(bpy)(H2O)][Cr(bpy)(CN)4] x H2O}n (4) (dca = N(CN)2(-)), {Mn(N3)(CH3OH)[Cr(bpy)(CN)4] x 2H2O}n (5), and {Mn(bpy)(N3)(H2O)[Cr(bpy)(CN)4] x H2O}2 (6), have been prepared and characterized structurally and magnetically. X-ray crystallography reveals that the compounds 1, 2, 4, and 5 consist of one-dimensional (1D) chains with different structures: a 4,2-ribbon-like chain, a branched zigzag chain, a 2,2-CC zigzag chain, and a 3,3-ladder-like chain, respectively. It also reveals that compound 3 has a trinuclear [MnCr2] structure, and compound 6 has a tetranuclear [Mn2Cr2] square structure. Magnetic studies show antiferromagnetic interaction between Cr(III) and Mn(II) ions in all compounds. All of the chain compounds exhibit metamagnetic behaviors with different critical temperatures (Tc) and critical fields (Hc; at 1.8 K): 3.2 K and 3.0 kOe for 1; 2.3 K and 4.0 kOe for 2; 2.1 K and 1.0 kOe for 4; and 4.7 K and 5.0 kOe for 5, respectively. The noncentrosymmetric compound 2 is also a weak ferromagnet at low temperature because of spin canting. The magnetic analyses reveal Cr-Mn intermetallic magnetic exchange constants, J, of -4.7 to -9.4 cm(-1) (H = -JS(Cr) x S(Mn)). It is observed that the antiferromagnetic interaction through the Mn-N-C-Cr bridge increases as the Mn-N-C angle (theta) decreases to the range of 155-180 degrees, obeying an empirical relationship: J = -40 + 0.2theta. This result suggests that the best overlap between t(2g) (high-spin Mn(II)) and t(2g) (low-spin Cr(III)) occurs at an angle of approximately 155 degrees.  相似文献

Rational self-assembly of a long V-shaped 3,3',4,4'-benzophenonetetracarboxylate (bptc) ligand and metal salts in the presence of linear bidentate ligand yield a series of novel pillared helical-layer complexes, namely, [Cu2(bptc)(bpy)2] (1), [M3(Hbptc)2(bpy)3(H2O)4].2 H2O (M = Fe(2) and Ni(3)), [Co2(bptc)(bpy)(H2O)].0.5 bpy (4), [Cd2(bptc)(bpy)(H2O)2].H2O (5), [Mn2(bptc)(bpy)1.5(H2O)3] (6) and [M2(bptc)(bpy)0.5(H2O)5].0.5 bpy (M = Mn(7), Mg(8) and Co(9), bpy=4,4'-bipyridine). Their structures were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses and further characterized by elemental analyses, IR spectra, and thermogravimetric (TG) analyses. The structure of 1 consists of two types of chiral layers, one left-handed and the other right-handed, which are connected by bpy pillars to generate a novel 3D open framework featuring four distinct helical chains. Compounds 2 and 3 are isostructural and feature 3D structures formed from the interconnection of arm-shaped helical layers with bpy pillars. Compound 4 is a pillared helical double-layer complex containing four different types of helices, among which the nine-fold interwoven helices constructed from triple-stranded helical motifs are unprecedented. Compound 5 exhibits a novel 3D covalent framework which features nanosized tubular channels. These channels are built from helical layers pillared by bptc ligands. The structure of 6 is constructed from {Mn(bptc)(H2O)}n2n- layers, which consist of left- and right-handed helical chains, pillared by [Mn2(bpy)3(H2O)4]4+ complexes into a 3D framework. To the best of our knowledge, compounds 1-6 are the first examples of pillared helical-layer coordination polymers. Compounds 7-9 are isostructural and exhibit interesting 2D helical double-layer structures, which are constructed from {M(bptc)(H2O)2}n2n- ribbons cross-linked by [M2(bpy)(H2O)6]4+ complexes. Furthermore, the 3D supramolecular structures of 7-9 are similar to the 3D structure of 6, and the 2D structure of 7 can be transformed into the 3D structure of 6 at higher reaction temperature. By inspection of the structures of 1-9, it is believed that the V-shaped bptc ligand and V-shaped phthalic group of the bptc ligand are important for the formation of the helical structures. The magnetic behavior of compounds 1, 2, 4, 6, and 9 was studied and indicated the existence of antiferromagnetic interactions. Moreover, compound 5 shows intense photoluminescence at room temperature.  相似文献

Three new polymeric squarato-bridged manganese complexes {[Mn(H(2)O)(2)(bpe)(sq)].bpe.H(2)O}(n) (1), [Mn(2)(H(2)O)(4)(phen)(2)(sq)(2)](n) (2) and [Mn(2)(H(2)O)(2)(phen)(4)(sq)].(sq).8(H(2)O) (3) [bpe, 1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethane; phen, 1,10-phenanthroline; sq, squarate dianion] have been synthesized and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis and variable temperature magnetic studies. Complex 1 is a 2D rectangular grid-like structure, achieved through flexible bpe bridging ligands and squarate dianions. On the other hand the use of chelating phen instead of bpe gives rise to a 1D polymeric chain in complex 2 and to a dinuclear entity in 3. In all the three complexes weak interactions play a vital role in stabilizing the solid-state structure. The syntheses, structures, and magnetic properties are reported of the mixed-metal complexes [Ce4Mn10O10(OMe)6(O2CPh)16(NO3)2(MeOH)2(H2O)2] (1) and [Th6Mn10O22(OH)2(O2CPh)16-(NO3)2(H2O)8] (2), which were both prepared by the reaction of (NBun4)[Mn4O2(O2CPh)9(H2O)] (3) with a source of the heterometal in MeCN/MeOH. Complexes 1 and 2 crystallize in the monoclinic space group C2/c and the triclinic space group P, respectively. Complex 1 consists of 10 MnIII, 2 CeIII, and 2 CeIV atoms and possesses a very unusual tubular [Ce4Mn10O10(OMe)6]18+ core. Complex 2 consists of 10 MnIV and 6 ThIV atoms and possesses a [Th6Mn10O22(OH)2]18+ core with the metal atoms arranged in layers with a 2:3:6:3:2 pattern. Peripheral ligation around the cores is provided by 16 bridging benzoates, 2 chelating nitrates, and either (i) 2 each of terminal H2O and MeOH groups in 1 or (ii) 8 terminal H2O groups in 2. Complex 1 is the largest mixed-metal Ce/Mn cluster and the first 3d/4f cluster with mixed-valency in its lanthanide component, while complex 2 is the first Th/Mn cluster and the largest mixed transition metal/actinide cluster to date. Solid-state dc and ac magnetic susceptibility measurements on 1 and 2 establish that they possess S = 4 and 3 ground states, respectively. Ac susceptibility studies on 1 revealed nonzero frequency-dependent out-of-phase (chiM' ') signals at temperatures below 3 K; complex 2 displays no chiM' ' signals. However, single-crystal magnetization vs dc field scans at variable temperatures and variable sweep-rates down to 0.04 K on 1 revealed no noticeable hysteresis loops, except very minor ones at 0.04 K assignable to weak intermolecular interactions propagated by hydrogen bonds involving CeIII-bound ligands. Complex 1 is thus concluded not to be a single-molecule magnet (SMM), and the combined results thus represent a caveat against taking such ac signals as sufficient proof of a SMM.  相似文献

Two new cyano-bridged heterobinuclear complexes, [Mn(II)(phen)2Cl][Fe(III)(bpb)(CN)2] x 0.5CH3CH2OH x 1.5H2O (1) and [Mn(II)(phen)2Cl][Cr(III)(bpb)(CN)2] x 2H2O (2) [phen = 1,10-phenanthroline; bpb(2-) = 1,2-bis(pyridine-2-carboxamido)benzenate], and four novel azido-bridged Mn(II) dimeric complexes, [Mn2(phen)4(mu(1,1)-N3)2][M(III)(bpb)(CN)2]2 x H2O [M = Fe (3), Cr (4), Co (5)] and [Mn2(phen)4(mu(1,3)-N3)(N3)2]BPh4 x 0.5H2O (6), have been synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis and magnetic studies. Complexes 1 and 2 comprise [Mn(phen)2Cl]+ and [M(bpb)(CN)2]- units connected by one cyano ligand of [M(bpb)(CN)2]-. Complexes 3-5 are doubly end-on (EO) azido-bridged Mn(II) binuclear complexes with two [M(bpb)(CN)2]- molecules acting as charge-compensating anions. However, the Mn(II) ions in complex 6 are linked by a single end-to-end (EE) azido bridging ligand with one large free BPh4(-) group as the charge-balancing anion. The magnetic coupling between Mn(II) and Fe(III) or Cr(III) in complexes 1 and 2 was found to be antiferromagnetic with J(MnFe) = -2.68(3) cm(-1) and J(MnCr) = -4.55(1) cm(-1) on the basis of the Hamiltonian H = -JS(Mn)S(M) (M = Fe or Cr). The magnetic interactions between two Mn(II) ions in 3-5 are ferromagnetic in nature with the magnetic coupling constants of 1.15(3), 1.05(2), and 1.27(2) cm(-1) (H = -JS(Mn1)S(Mn2)), respectively. The single EE azido-bridged dimeric complex 6 manifests antiferromagnetic interaction with J = -2.29(4) cm(-1) (H = -JS(Mn1)S(Mn2)). Magneto-structural correlationship on the EO azido-bridged Mn(II) dimers has been investigated.  相似文献

Two dirhodium(II) complexes, [Rh(II)(2)(μ-O(2)CCH(3))(2)(bpy)(2)](O(2)CCH(3))(2) (Rh(2)bpy(2); bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine) and [Rh(II)(2)(μ-O(2)CCH(3))(2)(phen)(2)](O(2)CCH(3))(2) (Rh(2)phen(2); phen = 1,10-phenanthroline) were synthesized, and their photocatalytic H(2) production activities were studied in multicomponent systems, containing [Ir(III)(ppy)(2)(dtbbpy)](+) (ppy = 2-phenylpyridine, dtbbpy = 4,4'-di-tert-butyl-2,2'-bipyridine) as the photosensitizer (PS) and triethylamine as the sacrificial reductant (SR). There is a more than 6-fold increase in the photocatalytic activity from Rh(2)bpy(2) to Rh(2)phen(2) just using phen in place of bpy. A turnover number as high as 2622 was obtained after 50 h of irradiation of a system containing 16.7 μM Rh(2)phen(2), 50 μM PS, and 0.6 M SR. The electrochemical, luminescence quenching, and transient absorption experiments demonstrate that Rh(I)Rh(I) is the true catalyst for the proton reduction. The real-time absorption spectra confirm that a new Rh-based species formed upon irradiation of the Rh(2)phen(2)-based multicomponent system, which exhibits an absorption centered at ~575 nm. This 575-nm intermediate may account for the much higher H(2) evolution efficiency of Rh(2)phen(2). Our work highlights the importance of N-based chelate ligands and opens a new avenue for pursuing more efficient Rh(II)(2)-based complexes in photocatalytic H(2) production application.  相似文献

A new β-diketone, 2-(2,2,2-trifluoroethyl)-1-indone (TFI), which contains a trifluorinated alkyl group and a rigid indone group, has been designed and employed for the synthesis of two series of new TFI lanthanide complexes with a general formula [Ln(TFI)(3)L] [Ln = Eu, L = (H(2)O)(2) (1), bpy (2), and phen (3); Ln = Sm, L = (H(2)O)(2) (4), bpy (5), and phen (6); bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine, phen = 1,10-phenanthroline]. X-ray crystallographic analysis reveals that complexes 1-6 are mononuclear, with the central Ln(3+) ion eight-coordinated by six oxygen atoms furnished by three TFI ligands and two O/N atoms from ancillary ligand(s). The room-temperature photoluminescence (PL) spectra of complexes 1-6 show strong characteristic emissions of the corresponding Eu(3+) and Sm(3+) ions, and the substitution of the solvent molecules by bidentate nitrogen ligands essentially enhances the luminescence quantum yields and lifetimes of the complexes.  相似文献

A new synthetic procedure has been developed in Mn cluster chemistry involving reductive aggregation of permanganate (MnO4-) ions in MeOH in the presence of benzoic acid, and the first products from its use are described. The reductive aggregation of NBu(n)4MnO4 in MeOH/benzoic acid gave the new 4Mn(IV), 8Mn(III) anion [Mn12O12(OMe)2(O2CPh)16(H2O)2]2-, which was isolated as a mixture of two crystal forms (NBu(n)4)2[Mn12O12(OMe)2(O2CPh)16(H2O)2].2H2O.4CH2Cl2 (1a) and (NBu(n)4)2[Mn12O12(OMe)2(O2CPh)16(H2O)2].2H2O.CH2Cl2 (1b). The anion of 1 contains a central [Mn(IV)4(mu3-O)2(mu-O)2(mu-OMe)2]6+ unit surrounded by a nonplanar ring of eight Mn(III) atoms that are connected to the central Mn4 unit by eight bridging mu3-O2- ions. This compound is very similar to the well-known [Mn12O12(O2CR)16(H2O)4] complexes (hereafter called "normal Mn12"), with the main difference being the structure of the central cores. Longer reaction times (approximately 2 weeks) led to isolation of polymeric [Mn(OMe)(O2CPh)2]n2, which contains a linear chain of repeating [Mn(III)(mu-O2CPh)2(mu-OMe)Mn(III)] units. The chains are parallel to each other and interact weakly through pi-stacking between the benzoate rings. When KMnO4 was used instead of NBu(n)4MnO4, two types of compounds were obtained, [Mn12O12(O2CPh)16(H2O)4] (3), a normal Mn12 complex, and [Mn4O2(O2CPh)8(MeOH)4].2MeOH (4.2MeOH), a new member of the Mn4 butterfly family. The cyclic voltammogram of 1 exhibits three irreversible processes, two reductions and one oxidation. One-electron reduction of 1 by treatment with 1 equiv of I- in CH2Cl2 gave (NBu(n)4[Mn12O12(O2CPh)16(H2O)3].6CH2Cl2 (5.6CH2Cl2), a normal Mn12 complex in a one-electron reduced state. The variable-temperature magnetic properties of 1, 2, and 5 were studied by both direct current (dc) and alternating current (ac) magnetic susceptibility measurements. Variable-temperature dc magnetic susceptibility studies revealed that (i) complex 1 possesses an S = 6 ground state, (ii) complex 2 contains antiferromagnetically coupled chains, and (iii) complex 5 is a typical [Mn12]- cluster with an S = 19/2 ground state. Variable-temperature ac susceptibility measurements suggested that 5 and both isomeric forms of 1 (1a,b) are single-molecule magnets (SMMs). This was confirmed by the observation of hysteresis loops in magnetization vs dc field scans. In addition, 1a,b, like normal Mn12 clusters, display both faster and slower relaxing magnetization dynamics that are assigned to the presence of Jahn-Teller isomerism.  相似文献

Three new organic-inorganic hybrid complexes based on 3d-transition metal monosubstituted Keggin polyoxometalates (POMs) with imidazole (Im) as pendant ligands, formulated as (HIm)(6-)[SiW11O39NiIm]0.8[SiW11O39Ni(H2O)]0.2.7H2O (1), (Im)4Na6[SiW11O39MnIm]0.69[SiW11O39Mn(H2O)]0.31.7.5H2O (2) and (HIm)6[SiW11O39CoIm]0.63[SiW11O39Co(H2O)]0.37.7H2O (3), have been synthesized and characterized by IR spectroscopy, UV-visible spectroscopy, elemental analysis, TG analysis, cyclic voltammetry, magnetic properties, EPR and single-crystal/powder X-ray diffraction. The structural analyses indicate that the 3d metal atoms are incorporated into the vacancy of the alpha-[SiW11O39](8-) (SiW11). Complexes 1-3 are the first examples of crystallographically characterized 3d-transition metal mono-substituted POMs with an antenna organic ligand synthesized under normal bench conditions.  相似文献

The reactions of [Mn3O(O2CCCl3)6(H2O)3] with 1-phenyl-3-(2-pyridyl)propane-1,3-dione (HL(1)) and 1-(2-pyridly)-3-(p-tolyl)propane-1,3-dione (HL(2)) in CH2Cl2 afford the mixed-valence Mn(II)2Mn(III)2 tetranuclear complexes [Mn4O(O2CCCl3)6(L(1))2] (1) and [Mn4O(O2CCCl3)6L2(2)] (2), respectively. Similar reactions employing [Mn3O(O2CPh)6(H2O)(py)2] with HL(1) and HL(2) give the Mn(II)3Mn(III)3 hexanuclear complexes [Mn6O2(O2CPh)8(L(1))3] (3) and [Mn6O2(O2CPh)8L3(2)] (4), respectively. Complexes 1.2CH2Cl2, 2.2CH2Cl2.H2O, 3.1.5CH2Cl2.Et2O.H2O, and 4.2CH2Cl2 crystallize in the triclinic space group P1, monoclinic space group P2(1)/c, monoclinic space group P2 1/ n, and monoclinic space group P2(1)/n, respectively. Complexes 1 and 2 consist of a trapped-valence tetranuclear core of [Mn(II)2Mn(III)2(mu4-O)](8+), and complexes 3 and 4 represent a new structural type, possessing a [Mn(II)3Mn(III)3(mu4-O)2](11+) core. The magnetic data indicate that complexes 3 and 4 have a ground-state spin value of S = 7/2 with significant magnetoanisotropy as gauged by the D values of -0.51 cm (-1) and -0.46 cm (-1), respectively, and frequency-dependent out-of-phase signals in alternating current magnetic susceptibility studies indicate their superparamagnetic behavior. In contrast, complexes 1 and 2 are low-spin molecules with an S = 1 ground state. Single-molecule magnetism behavior confirmed for 3 the presence of sweep-rate and temperature-dependent hysteresis loops in single-crystal M versus H studies at temperatures down to 40 mK.  相似文献
